• Why is apache serving the default?

• Multi domain on my dedicated server with Apache2

  I setup a server with Ubuntu 10.04 server edition. It's works for a long time with a single domain name. Now i want to add another domain wich will pointed to a new directory. I tried to change my Apache2 configuration but it does not seems to work properly. • All virtualhosts serving Apache default files

  I'm trying to configure Apache as an in-network webserver, and am using the sites-available/sites-enabled feature as opposed to just static vhost files. I set up a couple VirtualHosts, all with a unique DocumentRoot, however request for all the VirtualHosts just serve up the "It's Working!" default file. I can't for the life of me figure out why it won't serve the content out of the correct directory. • Ruby on Rails cannot find Initializer?

  Hello, I am trying to deploy an app to a fresh Ubuntu 10 installation using Passenger 2.2.15, Rails 2.3.5, Ruby 1.8.7, and Apache 2.2.14. However, even with a default rails app (sudo rails defaultapp), I am receiving the following error: "no such file to load -- initializer". I'm not sure which files you might need copies of in order to diagnose this problem, so I'll copy a few here and hope that it will help. • Ubuntu "No space left on device" for /home, df shows 100% full, ds shows much, much less

  On an Ubuntu 12.04 server, normal users can no longer create or add to files in /home, encountering a "No space left on device" error. • Can't mv files between directories on vsftpd

  I enabled this in vsftpd.conf chroot_local_user=YES chroot_list_enable=YES chroot_list_file=/etc/vsftpd.chroot_list user_config_dir=/etc/vsftpd_user_conf and here is the user set in vsftpd_user_conf dirctory ftpupload : local_root=/mnt/upload But /mnt/upload is mounted from another directory /mnt/upload on /opt/upload type none (rw,bind) Here is the list in /mn/upload rough_images/ shoes-pentland/ vendor-upload/ shooting/ Additional, the shooting/ directory is mounted from another place /mnt/upload/shooting on /mnt/shooting none (rw,bind) Now here is the problem. When I use the ftp client to move the files between the directories but failed .Files can moved between any directories except the shooting one. The permission is right . I can move any files between this directories successful by using su ftpupload. It means the vsftpd didn't support the mount bind? • Remove an apache alias subdirectory

  I'm using Apache 2 on Ubuntu 12.04. I added an alias for a subdirectory, to point to gitweb. I realised I should probably make it accessible only on https - so I removed the alias and restarted Apache. I can still navigate to http://xyz/gitweb - even with no alias in any of my config files. How do I remove it? • OpenSSL force client to use specific protocol

  When subversion attempts to connect to an https URL, the underlying protocol library (openssl) attempts to start the secure protocol negotiation at the most basic level, plain SSL. Unfortunately, I have to connect to a server that requires SSL3 or TLS1, and refuses to respond to SSL or SSL2. I’ve done some troubleshooting using s_client and confirmed that if I let s_client start with the default protocol the server never responds to the CLIENT HELLO: $ openssl s_client -connect server.domain.com:443 CONNECTED(00000003) write:errno=104 --- no peer certificate available --- No client certificate CA names sent --- SSL handshake has read 0 bytes and written 320 bytes --- New, (NONE), Cipher is (NONE) Secure Renegotiation IS NOT supported Compression: NONE Expansion: NONE --- Watching this in Wireshark I see: Client Server -------syn----------> <------ack----------- ---CLIENT HELLO-----> <------ack----------- [60 second pause] <------rst----------- If I tell s_client to use ssl2 the server immediately closes the connection. Only ssl3 and tls1 work. Is there any way to configure openssl to skip SSL and SSL2, and start the negotiation with TLS or SSL3? I've found the OpenSSL config file, but that seems to control only certificate generation.

• How can I password protect & let cgi-bin to work?

• .htaccess redirect working on localhost but not on server

  I want users who hit my web site's root directory to be sent to a subdirectory. So anyone going to: http://MyDomain.com or /index.php would be sent to http://MyDomain.com/subdir I used the .htaccess file to successfully do this on my local machine (with Apache 2). But it doesn't work on the server? Users still see the default index.php in the root directory. Here is my simple .htaccess file. Any ideas? • CSS Menus having cross browser problems

• Very Unusual Margin Appears Always in Internet Explorer [CSS]

  Only in Internet Explorer does this occur: I'm getting an additional margin (of 19 pixels) below a fieldset and I can't seem to see why, whatever I try! Try it for yourself, take a look at http://theshrop.com/d/call_us_or_call_in.php. To aid I've added a grid and some background colours. The fieldset should have a 1.125em bottom margin and it does in Safari, Firefox etc. It has an extra 19 pixels in Internet Explorer?   I am a relatively new Ubuntu user and I am having some difficulty mounting my external 2TB HDD. When I first installed Linux my external HDD was working just fine, however, it has stopped working and I have a lot of important files on there that I need. Before my HDD would automatically mount and no worries. Now, however, it doesn't automatically mount and when I try to manually mount it I keep running into filesystem type errors that I can't seem to get past.   After upgrading from lubuntu 13.10 to 14.04 the fan of my laptop seems to run much more often than in 13.10. • CSS height problem. IE8 seems correct Firefox seems wrong. Any fix?

  Below is a complete html page that shows the problem. The "myDiv" should be 22px in height (including the border). Item 1 should have a 1px space between its border and the divs border. In IE8 it is. In FF 3.6.2 though it is 24px and I can't understand why. Ultimately my goal is to get the same CSS to create the same result in both browsers. It's driving me crazy!
