  • OS X firewall popup about growlnotify keeps popping up

    I have autotest setup with growlnotify using growl_glue (version 1.0.7): require 'growl_glue' GrowlGlue::Autotest.initialize do |config| config.notification :use_network_notifications => true end growl version is 1.2 each time autotest runs and displays the notification growl popup I also get an OS X firewall popup asking Do you want the application "growlnotify" to accept incoming network connections? I tried answering deny and allow but it still keeps popping up. the deny/allow choice is properly reflected in System Preferences - Security - Firewall - 'application access list', but it still asks every time. update I ended up using autotest-growl gem instead of the growl_glue. it fixed the problem, it was probably related to how growl_glue was calling growlnotify.

    Hi I am having a set of Links in my page and I have attached the facebox jQuery functionality so that whenever a link is pressed, it will get a nice popup <a href="coach_selector_popup?day=<%= day %>&hour=<%= hour %>" rel="facebox"> Below is the script that I use for 'facebox'ing. <script type="text/javascript"> jQuery(document).ready(function($) { jQuery('a[rel*=facebox]').facebox() }) </script> The above is working fine. But when I render it again on response to some AJAX call, the functionality is getting lost, meaning when I click on the link I am redirected to a page instead of a facebox popup. I know that I need to do something when I repaint, can someone point me to the right direction?

  • Textbox height in a small browser window

    Hi folks, I have here a peculiar problem. We have a RAP application intended for use on a PDA/phone, but when it is displayed in a small browser window, all the textboxes on the form(s) are too tall (around twice the height they should be). I've stepped through the code (The form is using GridLayout, number of columns=1, make columns equal=false) and have found that the TextSizeDetermination.getCharHeight() method returns an incorrect font size if the browser window is too small - 13px if the window is large, 26px (exactly double) if the window is too small. Interestingly enough, it seems that if the window is too small, probeStore.containsProbeResult(font) in that method returns true and uses probeStore.getProbeResult(...).getSize().y for the font size. Otherwise, if the window is larger, it returns false and uses TextSizeEstimation.getCharHeight(...). Does anyone have a pointer or two for getting around this?   • IE browser doesn't close and file download popup needs focus

    Hii all , I am trying to to click on a link after it is active which again produces a popup ( file download) after clicking.   • Javascript for conditional URL append or redirect based on window.location.href

    ::Hi all:: I am trying to make a bookmarklet that when clicked will check the URL of the current tab\window to see if it contains 'char1' and\or 'char2' (a given character). If both chars are present it redirects to another URL, for the other two it will append the current URL respectively. I believe there must be a more elegant way of stating this than the following (which has so far worked perfectly for me) but I don't have great knowledge of Javascript.   • Facebook Connect settings for popup dialog

    I'm in the process of implementing Facebook Connect for my site, everything seems to be working fine so far except that the look of my popup dialog upon clicking on "Login with Facebook" is totally different from what I see on other sites like say Posterous. I'm only getting a popup with the msg "Do you want to log in to with your Facebook account?" followed by the 2 login fields whereas Posterous has a more detailed dialog box with 2 images and more descriptive text. Am i missing out on some configuration settings here or? Thanks

    Hi everyone, I have a popup menu which contains several menu items and one of them can have child items. This entry has a little arrow on the right and when you hover your mouse over it, a sub-menu will open. Now I want to populate this sub-menu at runtime, but only if the user actually opens it. If the user never opens the sub-menu, it will be empty (maybe contain a placeholder). How could I accomplish this? Is it even possible to modify a popup-menu when it is already visible?   • windows beneath not being painted when using a layered window

    Hi, I will try to explain my problem the best i can, I'm creating a layered window in c++ (using windowsXP), all works fine until i drag my created window near the windows start button, and then when i press the star button of windows taskbar and close it again all the windows beneath of my layered window aren't being painted (only in the area of the start window that pops over my window). My create window is like this: CWnd::CreateEx( WS_EX_TOOLWINDOW | WS_EX_LAYERED, AfxRegisterWndClass(0), lpstr_name, WS_POPUP, 0,0,0,0, pc_parent-GetSafeHwnd(), 0); ... When i create the window with this styles the problem ocurrs, but if i create with the extended style WS_EX_TRANSPARENT and all the others the problem does not occur any more. And if instead of a WS_POPUP window is a WS_CHILD or WS_OVERLAPPED then this also doesn't occur... Can anyone please explain why when i create a WS_POPUP window with the WS_EX_LAYERED style all the beneath windows aren't updated, and if i add the style WS_EX_TRANSPARENT this works fine. Note: why i do not use the WS_EX_TRANSPARENT style if it works right? if i use it then my window can not be dragged and i need it to do it :) Thanks

  • Resize AIR app window while dragging

    So I've noticed Windows 7 has a disturbing tendency to prevent you from dragging the title bar of windows off the top of the screen. If you try - in this case, using an air app with a draggable area at the bottom of the window, allowing you to push the top of the window up past the screen - it just kicks the window back down far enough that the title bar is at the top of what it considers the 'visible area.' One solution would be to resize the app window as it moves, so that the title bar is always where windows wants it. How would you resize the window while you're dragging it, though? Would you do it like this? dragHitArea.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, function(e:MouseEvent):void{ stage.nativeWindow.height += 50; stage.nativeWindow.startMove(); stage.nativeWindow.height -= 50; }); see what's going on there? When I click, I'm doing startMove(), which is hooking into the OS' function for dragging a window around. I'm also increasing and decreasing the height of the window by 50 pixels - which should give me no net increase, right? Wrong - the first '.height +=' gets executed, but the '.height -=' after the .startMove() never runs. Why? update - If you're curious, I'm programming an air widget with fly-out menus which expand rightwards and upwards - and since those element can only be displayed within the boundaries of the application window itself (even though the window is set to be chromeless and transparent) I have to expand the application's borders to include the area that the menu 'pops up' into. In the extreme case, with the widget positioned bottom left, and the menus expanded completely across to the right side and top edge of the screen, the application area could very well cover the entire desktop. The problem is, when it's expanded like this, if the user drags it up and to the right, it causes the 'title bar' area of the application window to move above the top edge of the desktop area, where it would normally be unreachable; and Windows automatically re-positions the window back below that edge once the .startMove() operation is completed. So what I want to do is continually resize the height of the application so that the visual effect will be the same for the user, but for the benefit of the operating system the window's title bar will never be above that top boundary of the desktop area.

  • Can Spring access-denied-handler refer to popup?

    I am working with Spring Security 3.1.x and have implemented method annotation securities. As I want, when I perform a certain action while being logged in as a used that doesn't have the rights, I get a 403 acces is denied in my console! Perfect! Now I would like to catch this 403, and give the user a popup with a custom message. I don't want to redirect users to a page saying that they have no rights. Is there any way the access-denied-handler of Spring can take care of a popup? Or can it only redirect to another page? Maybe there are other options for me? Thanks in advance!

How can I make it so when you click it, a new window will be generated and set focus to such window so that the main window can not be clicked or interacted with at all? This new window will have a textfield and a submit button. You click it and the window is supposed to close and send the textfield's data back to the main window (and it will recover focus as well).   • How to remap Fn key combinations (Lenovo G500)

    I am running Kubuntu 13.10 on a Lenovo G500 laptop. My question is similar to this one: How can I remap my F keys on my HP laptop? That is to say, my F1-F12 keys are mapped to certain special functions, and only holding down the Fn key restores access to the standard F1-F12 keys. How do I remap certain keys? I would like to know if there is a way to remap Fx to Fn+Fx and vice-versa. As per the instructions of #87043 I checked my BIOS and there is no option to switch the Fx/Fn key functionality. Googling through Leonovo's support forums indicates a BIOS update enabling this is in the works, but there's no indication of when it will be complete. Using xev I was able to see what X sees when F1-F12 are pressed. Some send separate keycodes, but some are somehow mapped to key combinations or other unknown things: F1 - XF86AudioMute F2 - XF86AudioVolumeLower F3 - XF86AudioVolumeRaise F4 - Alt_L + F4 F5 - F5 F6 - Disables touchapd, cannot quite understand what xev tells me is happening, reenables if disabled (Kernel log reveals these have well-defined scancodes not assigned to any keycodes) F7 - XF86WLAN F8 - Alt_L + Ctrl_L + Tab F9 - Turns off LCD backlight, xev sees nothing F10 - Super_L + p F11 - XF86MonBrightnessLower F12 - XF86MonBrightnessRaise Following the instrusctions on this page: How do I remap certain keys?   • Reattaching screen (having irssi running) forces window resize

    Whenever I reattach to my detached screen (containing Irssi), my Putty screen is resized to something it has been at startup. If I change the window size after this, detach the screen and resize it back, window will be again resized to the original size. By window I mean the Putty window on my windows box. How can I turn this feature off? Using Windows XP as my local and CentOS 6.0 as the remote OS. Putty 0.61.

Everything i have read about modal windows uses a div that gets shown when you click the link, but i want to pass an id so i can just get the info i need. I know i could do it with a new window quite easly but i would like to use a modal window if poss. Any ideas how i could do this. I'm using asp.net if thats going to be relevent. Cheers Luke

  • Design pattern for window management in a Java Swing app

    I've just started creating my very first little Java Swing app. When the program opens, it brings up a single, simple window with a label and a couple buttons. Clicking one of those buttons is supposed to wipe out the welcome screen and replace it with a totally different panel. I'm not sure what the best way to create that functionality is. One method would be to pass my JFrame as an argument into... just about every other component, but that feels hacky to me. Or, there's making each panel double as an action listener, but that doesn't seem right, either. Is there a design pattern I should be applying here? "Replace the contents of the main — and only — window" must be a reasonably common operation. A name for the pattern would be enough; I can use Google on my own from there. (I wouldn't say no to a longer explanation, though.)

  • After login I only get a terminal window

    First of, let me tell you I'm a n00b at ubuntu. I have updated my Ubuntu mediacenter to a later version of ubuntu, currently at 12.04. I'm working through a lot of updates to get to the latest. But since my first update I got the new login screen (lightdm?) and my autologin wasen't working anymore. So I Googled how I could make lightdm autologin. I've managed this by making my /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf look as follows: [SeatDefaults] greeter-session=unity-greeter user-session=ubuntu autologin-user=my_user autologin-userutologin-user=-timeout=0 Which seemed to work... But now that it automatically logs in, I seem to get the following type of screen (through nomachine remote desktop client): Sorry... I am unable to post my screenshot here because I do not have the 10 reputation points in askubuntu yet.... darn it... But the screen has a terminal at the top left of the screen (not an actual "window"), and the ubuntu loading screen is still behind it. I've tried running startx as you can see. But, this seems to actually be x server. But if I run unity --reset, it seems that a lot of the desktop gets restored, but... with a lot of errors and warnings and the next time I boot, it's the same story all over again. Also, when I close the terminal window after getting my desktop back, I get thrown back at the login screen. Please bear with my lack of knowledge of ubuntu and it's underlying unix.     I'm currently making a 2D game using SFML. I want the aspect ratio to be maintained when the user resizes the window. I also want the game to work with any arbitrary aspect ratio (like any media player would).
