  • In Ant, copy all files from a tree of folders into a single folder?

    Is it possible to use Ant to copy all the files (not folders) from a hierarchy of folders into one destination folder? For instance, I have a tree like this: res |-images | |-fg.png | +-bg.png +-sounds +-music.mp3 And I would like a result like this: data |-fg.png |-bg.png +-music.mp3 The way things are named, filename conflicts are not an issue. Is this possible to do with Ant?

  • MSQL upgrade on Ubuntu - any heads ups?

    I am needing to upgrade MYSQL on Ubuntu, it is a production server and naturally cautious. My many googles look to be essentially saying that I need to : 1) Backup my current mysql database and tables/data 2) Uninstall current mysql 3) Install new MYSQL 5+ 4) Restore Databases/ tables and data 5) Hope and Pray I got it right ?? Something doesn't seem right, sounds like a lot of down time and risk Am I missing something / or any simple solutions? Upgrading from mSQL 4 to 5 on Ubuntu 10 Many Thanks, Rob

    Hello, I am returning the variable I am creating in a using statement inside the using statement (sounds funny): public DataTable foo () { using (DataTable properties = new DataTable()) { // do something return properties; } } Will this Dispose the properties variable?? After doing this am still getting this Warning: Warning 34 CA2000 : Microsoft.Reliability : In method 'test.test', call System.IDisposable.Dispose on object 'properties' before all references to it are out of scope.     Is there a technical limitation of what kind of programs I can write with assembler (NASM)? For now I've only seem some program that do arithmetic operations, like adding two numbers. Is it possible to write complex assembler programs, that provide a GUI, access the file system, plays sounds et cetera? I know I wouldn't write such programs, but I'm curious, if there are technical limitations on what kind of programs I can write with assembler.

    I'm aware of SOUNDEX and (double) Metaphone, but these don't let me test for the similarity of words as a whole - for example "Hi" sounds very similar to "Bye", but both of these methods will mark them as completely different. Are there any libraries in Ruby, or any methods you know of, that are capable of determining the similarity between two words? (Either a boolean is/isn't similar, or numerical 40% similar) edit: Extra bonus points if there is an easy method to 'drop in' a different dialect or language!

    How can I create global variables that are shared in C? If I put it in a header file, then the linker complains that the variables are already defined. Is the only way to declare the variable in one of my C files and to manually put in externs at the top of all the other C files that want to use it? That sounds not ideal.

Currently this takes a couple seconds to execute and causes the user a certain amount of frustration.     Trying to wrap my head around perl's Autovivification and based on what it sounds like, It seems to work similar to dynamics in C# as a dynamic object is not assigned a type until runtime or, am I totally off here.   • Isn't it better to create the subview hierarchy in -viewDidLoad rather than in -loadView?

    The docs say that the whole subview hierarchy can be created in -loadView. But there's also this -viewDidLoad method which sounds nice to ovewrite for actually building the hierarchy, when the view loaded. I guess it's a matter of taste only. But maybe doing so in -viewDidLoad hast the advantage that the view controller already adjusted the frame of the view correctly to accomodate for the status bar or any other kind of bar like tab bar or tool bar?

    Sounds dummy but I can't set to a server-side control's property a value contains quote marks ": <asp:CompareValidator ErrorMessage="Curreny-from can't be equal to currency-to" runat="server" /> I need to quote "from" and "to". I tried escaping \"from\" and double quote marks ""from"" - both doesn't work. How to do that?

    I've been looking at L.in.oleum and am intrigued by it's mix of higher-level constructs (loops, dynamic variables) with low-level assembler power (registers). Are there other languages like Lino out there, which blend the speed of assembler with productivity enhancing features? EDIT: I realized this kind of sounds like an ad.     I was thinking about creating making AIM pluggin that checks pandora one (desktop) or pandora website periodically to see what is currently playing and update a user's status. I suppose the main question is there a clever way to access a "public" variable from some open Adobe Air process? I KNOW this sounds like some crazy security flaw, but it may also be a feature.
