  • Popup Details for a Table Record

    - by shay.shmeltzer
This one started as an OTN how-to question that seemed like something that should work automatically - turns out you need a couple of small tweaks to get it working. The idea is to have a table on a page showing multiple records, you can click any row in the table - and get a pop-up window that shows more data about that row. At first I thought I'll just need to drag the same view twice to the page - once as a table and then as a form in a pop-up. But then the Form didn't reflect the new row that got selected in the table - you'll always see the first row you selected. Adding a Partial Page Rendering between the table and the pop-up didn't do the trick either. Then I realized that the content delivery attribute of the pop-up was set to lazy, when I switched it to immediate - everything worked. Here is a little demo showing the whole development process: Note that the content delivery method attribute is also something you might want to check if you see your tables being refreshed too often when you scroll through records for example.

  • Azure Table Storage Creation using Nov 2009 CTP

    - by kaleidoscope
The new SDK introduces a new class - · The CloudTableClient : This new class enables us to create tables and test for the existence of tables. We need not need use this class for querying table storage, it's   more of an administrative class for dealing with table storage itself.   · Once we have got the account key and the account name from ConfigurationSetting, we can create an instance of the storage credentials and table client classes:   StorageCredentialsAccountAndKey creds = new StorageCredentialsAccountAndKey(accountName, accountKey);     CloudTableClient tableStorage = new CloudTableClient(tableBaseUri, creds);     CustomerContext ctx = new CustomerContext(tableBaseUri, creds);     //where tableBaseUri is the TableStorageEndpoint obtained from ConfigurationSetting Using the table storage class, we can now create a new table (if it doesn't already exist):     if (tableStorage.CreateTableIfNotExist("Customers"))     {        CustomerRow cust = new CustomerRow("AccountsReceivable", "kevin");         cust.FirstName = "Kevin";        cust.LastName = "Hoffman";        ctx.AddObject("Customers", cust);        ctx.SaveChanges();     } For a complete article on this topic please follow this link: http://dotnetaddict.dotnetdevelopersjournal.com/azure_nov09_tablestorage.htm Tinu, O

  • Table Formatting in Excel 2007: How do I remove it?

    - by Mike
I've used the new Table Formatting option in Excel 2007. Now I can't remove it. I've dragged the little blue square up to the last cell on the top left, but it just won't go any further. In fact it just won't go at all. Clear all doesn't remove it. What does? I want my table back! Thanks Mike

  • Problem with deleting table rows using ctrl+a for row selection

    - by Frank Nimphius
    Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-priority:99; mso-style-qformat:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:11.0pt; font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-ascii-font-family:Calibri; mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-fareast; mso-hansi-font-family:Calibri; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-bidi;} The following code is commonly shown and documented for how to access the row key of selected table rows in an ADF Faces table configured for multi row selection. public void onRemoveSelectedTableRows(ActionEvent actionEvent) {    RichTable richTable = … get access to your table instance …    CollectionModel cm =(CollectionModel)richTable.getValue();    RowKeySet rowKeySet = (RowKeySet)richTable.getSelectedRowKeys();             for (Object key : rowKeySet) {       richTable.setRowKey(key);       JUCtrlHierNodeBinding rowData = (JUCtrlHierNodeBinding)cm.getRowData();       // do something with rowData e.g.update, print, copy   }    //optional, if you changed data, refresh the table         AdfFacesContext adfFacesContext = AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance(); adfFacesContext.addPartialTarget(richTable);   return null; } The code shown above works for 99.5 % of all use cases that deal with multi row selection enabled ADF Faces tables, except for when users use the ctrl+a key to mark all rows for delete. Just to make sure I am clear: if you use ctrl+a to mark rows to perform any other operation on them – like bulk updating all rows for a specific attribute – then this works with the code shown above. Even for bulk row delete, any other mean of row selection (shift+click and multiple ctrl+click) works like a charm and the rows are deleted. So apparently it is the use of ctrl+a that causes the problem when deleting multiple rows of an ADF Faces table. To implement code that works for all table selection use cases, including the one to delete all table rows in one go, you use the code shown below. public void onRemoveSelectedTableRows(ActionEvent actionEvent) {   RichTable richTable = … get access to your table instance …   CollectionModel cm = (CollectionModel)richTable.getValue();   RowKeySet rowKeySet = (RowKeySet)richTable.getSelectedRowKeys();   Object[] rowKeySetArray = rowKeySet.toArray();      for (Object key : rowKeySetArray){               richTable.setRowKey(key);     JUCtrlHierNodeBinding rowData = (JUCtrlHierNodeBinding)cm.getRowData();                              rowData.getRow().remove();   }   AdfFacesContext adfFacesContext = AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance();          adfFacesContext.addPartialTarget(richTable); }

  • Highlighting new rows in ADF Table

    - by Sireesha Pinninti
About This article explains how to hightlight newly inserted rows in an ADF Table without writing any extra java/javascript code.IntroductionSometimes we may wish to give more clarification to the end user by differentiating between newly inserted rows and the existing rows(i.e the rows from DB) in a table by highlighting new rows in different color as in the figure shown below. SolutionWe can achieve the same by giving following EL to inlineStyle property of every column inside af:table: #{row.row.entities[0].entityState == 0?'background-color:#307D7E;':''}ExplanationHere is the explanation for row.row.entities[0].entityState given inside EL which returns the state of the row(i.e, New, Modified, Unmodified, Initialized etc.)row - Refers to a tree node binding(instance of FacesCtrlHierNodeBinding) at runtimerow.row - Refers to an instance of row that the tree node is based onrow.row.entities[0] - Gets the Entity row at zeroth index. In most of the cases, the table will be based on single entity. If your table is based on multiple entities then the index needs to be given accordingly.row.row.entities[0].entityState - Gets Entity Object's current Entity-state in the transaction.(0 - New, Modified - 2, Unmodified - 1, Initialized - -1,  etc.,)

  • Moving only the contents of a map and not the map itself on linux

    - by WebDevHobo
Using the cp command, one can move files and folders on linux. I want to make a new user and move the contents of the skeleton map to their home directory. I use this command: cp -r /etc/skel/ /home/testuser/ However, this only creates a skel folder in testuser. The idea is that the contents of the /etc/skel folder be copied to /home/testuser, and not that a map be made in /home/testuser with those contents. I've checked the man page: Link, but nothing on there really seemed like the solution to me. Is there a way to do this, or do files really need to be moved manually, 1 by 1?

  • Sharepoint .PDF contents displaying as 'searchtext.xml' in searches

    - by Green Muffins
Hi Experts, I recently used installed ifilter in my sharepoint farm to enable searching of the contents of .pdf documents. All went well, except if I search for contents of any .pdf file, they appear in the search results with document title "searchtext.xml", and the link to the document gives a giant page of the .pdf contents in an .xml looking browser page. :s I have added .pdf filetypes to the search, so I am unsure why it is reading them incorrectly.. if I search for a .pdf document title such as 'document.pdf' it will display the result as a html page, though the link does follow to a readable .pdf file. Any help?

  • Mount Docker container contents in host file system

    - by dflemstr
I want to be able to inspect the contents of a Docker container (read-only). An elegant way of doing this would be to mount the container's contents in a directory. I'm talking about mounting the contents of a container on the host, not about mounting a folder on the host inside a container. I can see that there are two storage drivers in Docker right now: aufs and btrfs. My own Docker install uses btrfs, and browsing to /var/lib/docker/btrfs/subvolumes shows me one directory per Docker container on the system. This is however an implementation detail of Docker and it feels wrong to mount --bind these directories somewhere else. Is there a proper way of doing this, or do I need to patch Docker to support these kinds of mounts?

  • How do I work around an HTML Table rendering bug in IE 7?

    - by osmaniac
I have a table. Some cells span multiple columns. Some cells span multiple rows and columns. But one row (which spans all columns but the rightmost one) creates an artifact. Part of the text in the cell is erroneously repeated left justified on a new row just below the table. I'm baffled. I tried rendering with and without "table-layout: fixed;". Same result. When I originally composed the design using just HTML and CSS, it looked great. But then I worked it into a page and had to add more columns to my master table the right to hold buttons. These buttons are in three groups, each having their own div to control floating and rewrapping when the window gets narrower. One div has another table inside it that groups a single row of buttons. Thus I have table inside div inside td inside outer table. I would prefer a simpler design, but how? This is what I want to have: ................................................................................... . . . . Four rows of data . Three groups of buttons that can reflow . . With several columns . if window gets narrower . . meticulously layed out, . . . That should not resize . . . when window gets narrower . . ................................................................................... . One more row of data spanning the whole screen which stays below the buttons . ................................................................................... What I was doing was putting the three divs with the buttons in the upper right in a single cell that spanned four rows. What other opportunities does CSS offer? The buttons are not allowed to overlap the data on the left or go past the data line below. The original design had the divs with the buttons NOT in a table with the data, but when the window gets narrow, some of the buttons flow such that they go underneath the data, which looks bad. I would post actual HTML, except it is generated by ASP, huge, with lots of CSS styling, and the feature that lets me view the final HTML is not working at the moment. (Built in security in the application.)

  • SQL SERVER – Create Primary Key with Specific Name when Creating Table

    - by pinaldave
It is interesting how sometimes the documentation of simple concepts is not available online. I had received email from one of the reader where he has asked how to create Primary key with a specific name when creating the table itself. He said, he knows the method where he can create the table and then apply the primary key with specific name. The attached code was as follows: CREATE TABLE [dbo].[TestTable]( [ID] [int] IDENTITY(1,1) NOT NULL, [FirstName] [varchar](100) NULL) GO ALTER TABLE [dbo].[TestTable] ADD  CONSTRAINT [PK_TestTable] PRIMARY KEY CLUSTERED ([ID] ASC) GO He wanted to know if we can create Primary Key as part of the table name as well, and also give it a name at the same time. Though it would look very normal to all experienced developers, it can be still confusing to many. Here is the quick code that functions as the above code in one single statement. CREATE TABLE [dbo].[TestTable]( [ID] [int] IDENTITY(1,1) NOT NULL, [FirstName] [varchar](100) NULL CONSTRAINT [PK_TestTable] PRIMARY KEY CLUSTERED ([ID] ASC) ) GO Reference: Pinal Dave (http://blog.SQLAuthority.com) Filed under: Pinal Dave, Readers Question, SQL, SQL Authority, SQL Constraint and Keys, SQL Query, SQL Scripts, SQL Server, SQL Tips and Tricks, T SQL, Technology

  • Segfault when iterating over a map<string, string> and drawing its contents using SDL_TTF

    - by Michael Stahre
I'm not entirely sure this question belongs on gamedev.stackexchange, but I'm technically working on a game and working with SDL, so it might not be entirely offtopic. I've written a class called DebugText. The point of the class is to have a nice way of printing values of variables to the game screen. The idea is to call SetDebugText() with the variables in question every time they change or, as is currently the case, every time the game's Update() is called. The issue is that when iterating over the map that contains my variables and their latest updated values, I get segfaults. See the comments in DrawDebugText() below, it specifies where the error happens. I've tried splitting the calls to it-first and it-second into separate lines and found that the problem doesn't always happen when calling it-first. It alters between it-first and it-second. I can't find a pattern. It doesn't fail on every call to DrawDebugText() either. It might fail on the third time DrawDebugText() is called, or it might fail on the fourth. Class header: #ifndef CLIENT_DEBUGTEXT_H #define CLIENT_DEBUGTEXT_H #include <Map> #include <Math.h> #include <sstream> #include <SDL.h> #include <SDL_ttf.h> #include "vector2.h" using std::string; using std::stringstream; using std::map; using std::pair; using game::Vector2; namespace game { class DebugText { private: TTF_Font* debug_text_font; map<string, string>* debug_text_list; public: void SetDebugText(string var, bool value); void SetDebugText(string var, float value); void SetDebugText(string var, int value); void SetDebugText(string var, Vector2 value); void SetDebugText(string var, string value); int DrawDebugText(SDL_Surface*, SDL_Rect*); void InitDebugText(); void Clear(); }; } #endif Class source file: #include "debugtext.h" namespace game { // Copypasta function for handling the toString conversion template <class T> inline string to_string (const T& t) { stringstream ss (stringstream::in | stringstream::out); ss << t; return ss.str(); } // Initializes SDL_TTF and sets its font void DebugText::InitDebugText() { if(TTF_WasInit()) TTF_Quit(); TTF_Init(); debug_text_font = TTF_OpenFont("LiberationSans-Regular.ttf", 16); TTF_SetFontStyle(debug_text_font, TTF_STYLE_NORMAL); } // Iterates over the current debug_text_list and draws every element on the screen. // After drawing with SDL you need to get a rect specifying the area on the screen that was changed and tell SDL that this part of the screen needs to be updated. this is done in the game's Draw() function // This function sets rects_to_update to the new list of rects provided by all of the surfaces and returns the number of rects in the list. These two parameters are used in Draw() when calling on SDL_UpdateRects(), which takes an SDL_Rect* and a list length int DebugText::DrawDebugText(SDL_Surface* screen, SDL_Rect* rects_to_update) { if(debug_text_list == NULL) return 0; if(!TTF_WasInit()) InitDebugText(); rects_to_update = NULL; // Specifying the font color SDL_Color font_color = {0xff, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00}; // r, g, b, unused int row_count = 0; string line; // The iterator variable map<string, string>::iterator it; // Gets the iterator and iterates over it for(it = debug_text_list->begin(); it != debug_text_list->end(); it++) { // Takes the first value (the name of the variable) and the second value (the value of the parameter in string form) //---------THIS LINE GIVES ME SEGFAULTS----- line = it->first + ": " + it->second; //------------------------------------------ // Creates a surface with the text on it that in turn can be rendered to the screen itself later SDL_Surface* debug_surface = TTF_RenderText_Solid(debug_text_font, line.c_str(), font_color); if(debug_surface == NULL) { // A standard check for errors fprintf(stderr, "Error: %s", TTF_GetError()); return NULL; } else { // If SDL_TTF did its job right, then we now set a destination rect row_count++; SDL_Rect dstrect = {5, 5, 0, 0}; // x, y, w, h dstrect.x = 20; dstrect.y = 20*row_count; // Draws the surface with the text on it to the screen int res = SDL_BlitSurface(debug_surface,NULL,screen,&dstrect); if(res != 0) { //Just an error check fprintf(stderr, "Error: %s", SDL_GetError()); return NULL; } // Creates a new rect to specify the area that needs to be updated with SDL_Rect* new_rect_to_update = (SDL_Rect*) malloc(sizeof(SDL_Rect)); new_rect_to_update->h = debug_surface->h; new_rect_to_update->w = debug_surface->w; new_rect_to_update->x = dstrect.x; new_rect_to_update->y = dstrect.y; // Just freeing the surface since it isn't necessary anymore SDL_FreeSurface(debug_surface); // Creates a new list of rects with room for the new rect SDL_Rect* newtemp = (SDL_Rect*) malloc(row_count*sizeof(SDL_Rect)); // Copies the data from the old list of rects to the new one memcpy(newtemp, rects_to_update, (row_count-1)*sizeof(SDL_Rect)); // Adds the new rect to the new list newtemp[row_count-1] = *new_rect_to_update; // Frees the memory used by the old list free(rects_to_update); // And finally redirects the pointer to the old list to the new list rects_to_update = newtemp; newtemp = NULL; } } // When the entire map has been iterated over, return the number of lines that were drawn, ie. the number of rects in the returned rect list return row_count; } // The SetDebugText used by all the SetDebugText overloads // Takes two strings, inserts them into the map as a pair void DebugText::SetDebugText(string var, string value) { if (debug_text_list == NULL) { debug_text_list = new map<string, string>(); } debug_text_list->erase(var); debug_text_list->insert(pair<string, string>(var, value)); } // Writes the bool to a string and calls SetDebugText(string, string) void DebugText::SetDebugText(string var, bool value) { string result; if (value) result = "True"; else result = "False"; SetDebugText(var, result); } // Does the same thing, but uses to_string() to convert the float void DebugText::SetDebugText(string var, float value) { SetDebugText(var, to_string(value)); } // Same as above, but int void DebugText::SetDebugText(string var, int value) { SetDebugText(var, to_string(value)); } // Vector2 is a struct of my own making. • Linqpad with Table Storage

    - by kaleidoscope
LinqPad as we all know has been a wonderful tool for running ad-hoc queries. With Azure Table storage in picture LinqPad was no longer in picture and we shifted focus to Cloud Storage Studio only to realize the limited and strange querying capabilities of CSS. With some tweaking to Linqpad we can get the comfortable old shoe of ad-hoc queries with LinqPad in the Azure Table storage. Steps: 1. Start LinqPad 2. Right Click in the query window and select “Query Properties” 3. In The Additional References add reference to Microsoft.WindowsAzure.StorageClient, System.Data.Services.Client.dll and the assembly containing the implementation of the DataServiceContext class tied to the Azure table storage. 4. In the additional namespace imports import the same three namespaces mentioned above. 5. Then we need to provide following details. a. Table storage account name and shared key. b. DataServiceContext implementing class in your code. c. A LINQ query. e.x. var storageAccountName = "myStorageAccount";  // Enter valid storage account name var storageSharedKey = "mysharedKey"; // Enter valid storage account shared key var uri = new System.Uri("http://table.core.windows.net/"); var storageAccountInfo = new CloudStorageAccount(new StorageCredentialsAccountKey(storageAccountName, storageSharedKey), false); var serviceContext = new TweetPollDataServiceContext(storageAccountInfo); // Specify the DataServiceContext implementation // The query var query = from row in serviceContext.Table select row;         query.Dump(); Sarang, K

  • MySQL – Beginning Temporary Tables in MySQL

    - by Pinal Dave
MySQL supports Temporary tables to store the resultsets temporarily for a given connection. Temporary tables are created with the keyword TEMPORARY along with the CREATE TABLE statement. Let us create the temporary table named Temp CREATE TEMPORARY TABLE TEMP (id INT); Now you can find out the column names using DESC command DESC TEMP; The above returns the following result This table can be accessed only for the current connection and it can be used like a permanent table and automatically dropped when the connection is closed. However, you can not find temporary tables using INFORMATION_SCHEMA. TABLES system view. It will only list out the permanent tables. MySQL usually stores the data of temporary tables in memory and processed by Memory Storage engine. But if the data size is too large MySQL automatically converts this to the on – disk table and use MyISAM engine. You can also create a permanent table with the same name of a temporary table in the same connection. However the structure of permanent table is visible only if the temporary table with the same name is dropped. Let us create a permanent table with the same name Temp as below CREATE TABLE TEMP (id INT, names VARCHAR(100)); Now running the following command stills gives you the structure of the temporary table temp created earlier. DESC TEMP; You can drop the temporary table using DROP TEMPORARY TABLE command; DROP TEMPORARY TABLE TEMP; After you executed the temporary table, run the following command DESC TEMP; Now you will see the structure of the permanent table named temp In summary – If there is a Temporary Table in MySQL it gets first priority over the permanent table in the session. • Dealing With Table Borders In OOXML

    - by Tim Murphy
Note: Cross posted from Coding The Document. Permalink Formatting tables in a document programmatically can be a very complex task.  This is the major reason which we start our document generation projects with templates instead of building components in a document by hand. Borders are on aspect of a table that you may want to fomat.  Borders are used to make certain content in a table stand out.  If you need to conditionally set and remove borders there is something that you need to be aware of.  Even in OOXML you have the concepts of styles, inheriting styles and overriding styles. When Word defines a table it will reference a global style such as “TableGrid”.  This style will include the borders for the table.  Specifically the InsideHorizontalBorder and InsideVerticalBorder define the borders for the cells.  These can be overridden by the TableCellBorders collection of a particular cell.  Adding a double right border on a cell is as easy as the couple of lines of code below. wordprocessing.TableCellBorders borders = new wordprocessing.TableCellBorders(); borders.RightBorder = new RightBorder(){Val = BorderValues.Double, Color = "000000", ThemeColor = ThemeColorValues.Text1, Size = (UInt32Value)4U, Space = (UInt32Value)0U }; cell.TableCellProperties.Append(borders); If I want to revert back to the table’s style for cell borders I simply need to remove all children from the TableCellBorders collection.  It is like removing a class identifier from a TD tag in HTML.  The style in the parent object takes back over. With the knowledge of how the borders work you can take the concept and apply it to other effects of styles. del.icio.us Tags: OOXML,Office Open XML,Microsoft Office 2007,Microsoft Word 2007,table,style,border

  • Chmod 777 to a folder and all contents on Apache web server

    - by Ryan Murphy
I have just got new hosting for my website and I have a directory /www which I put all my website files within and a folder in that directory called 'store'. Within 'store' is several files and folders, I want to give the folder 'store' and all files and folders within the 'store' folder all permissions. How do I do this? I am guessing via .htaccess. I have tried inserting chmod 777 -R /store Into the .htaccess file but didn't work. Threw a big on screen error at me. I want to make all the files and folders within /store writable.

  • Determine All SQL Server Table Sizes

Im doing some work to migrate and optimize a large-ish (40GB) SQL Server database at the moment.  Moving such a database between data centers over the Internet is not without its challenges.  In my case, virtually all of the size of the database is the result of one table, which has over 200M rows of data.  To determine the size of this table on disk, you can run the sp_TableSize stored procedure, like so: EXEC sp_spaceused lq_ActivityLog This results in the following: Of course this is only showing one table if you have a lot of tables and need to know which ones are taking up the most space, it would be nice if you could run a query to list all of the tables, perhaps ordered by the space theyre taking up.  Thanks to Mitchel Sellers (and Gregg Starks CURSOR template) and a tiny bit of my own edits, now you can!  Create the stored procedure below and call it to see a listing of all user tables in your database, ordered by their reserved space. -- Lists Space Used for all user tablesCREATE PROCEDURE GetAllTableSizesASDECLARE @TableName VARCHAR(100)DECLARE tableCursor CURSOR FORWARD_ONLYFOR select [name]from dbo.sysobjects where OBJECTPROPERTY(id, N'IsUserTable') = 1FOR READ ONLYCREATE TABLE #TempTable( tableName varchar(100), numberofRows varchar(100), reservedSize varchar(50), dataSize varchar(50), indexSize varchar(50), unusedSize varchar(50))OPEN tableCursorWHILE (1=1)BEGIN FETCH NEXT FROM tableCursor INTO @TableName IF(@@FETCH_STATUS<>0) BREAK; INSERT #TempTable EXEC sp_spaceused @TableNameENDCLOSE tableCursorDEALLOCATE tableCursorUPDATE #TempTableSET reservedSize = REPLACE(reservedSize, ' KB', '')SELECT tableName 'Table Name',numberofRows 'Total Rows',reservedSize 'Reserved KB',dataSize 'Data Size',indexSize 'Index Size',unusedSize 'Unused Size'FROM #TempTableORDER BY CONVERT(bigint, reservedSize) DESCDROP TABLE #TempTableGO Did you know that DotNetSlackers also publishes .net articles written by top known .net Authors? • How to Generate a Create Table DDL Script Along With Its Related Tables

    - by Compudicted
    Have you ever wondered when creating table diagrams in SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) how slickly you can add related tables to it by just right-clicking on the interesting table name? Have you also ever needed to script those related tables including the master one? And you discovered you have dozens of related tables? Or may be no SSMS at your disposal? That was me one day. Well, creativity to the rescue! I Binged and Googled around until I found more or less what I wanted, but it was all involving T-SQL, yeah, a long and convoluted CROSS APPLYs, then I saw a PowerShell solution that I quickly adopted to my needs (I am not referencing any particular author because it was a mashup): 1: ########################################################################################################### 2: # Created by: Arthur Zubarev on Oct 14, 2012 # 3: # Synopsys: Generate file containing the root table CREATE (DDL) script along with all its related tables # 4: ########################################################################################################### 5:   6: [System.Reflection.Assembly]::LoadWithPartialName('Microsoft.SqlServer.SMO') | out-null 7:   8: $RootTableName = "TableName" # The table name, no schema name needed 9:   10: $srv = new-Object Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.Smo.Server("TargetSQLServerName") 11: $conContext = $srv.ConnectionContext 12: $conContext.LoginSecure = $True 13: # In case the integrated security is not used uncomment below 14: #$conContext.Login = "sa" 15: #$conContext.Password = "sapassword" 16: $db = New-Object Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.Smo.Database 17: $db = $srv.Databases.Item("TargetDatabase") 18:   19: $scrp = New-Object Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.Smo.Scripter($srv) 20: $scrp.Options.NoFileGroup = $True 21: $scrp.Options.AppendToFile = $False 22: $scrp.Options.ClusteredIndexes = $False 23: $scrp.Options.DriAll = $False 24: $scrp.Options.ScriptDrops = $False 25: $scrp.Options.IncludeHeaders = $True 26: $scrp.Options.ToFileOnly = $True 27: $scrp.Options.Indexes = $False 28: $scrp.Options.WithDependencies = $True 29: $scrp.Options.FileName = 'C:\TEMP\TargetFileName.SQL' 30:   31: $smoObjects = New-Object Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.Smo.UrnCollection 32: Foreach ($tb in $db.Tables) 33: { 34: Write-Host -foregroundcolor yellow "Table name being processed" $tb.Name 35: 36: If ($tb.IsSystemObject -eq $FALSE -and $tb.Name -eq $RootTableName) # feel free to customize the selection condition 37: { 38: Write-Host -foregroundcolor magenta $tb.Name "table and its related tables added to be scripted." 39: $smoObjects.Add($tb.Urn) 40: } 41: } 42:   43: # The actual act of scripting 44: $sc = $scrp.Script($smoObjects) 45:   46: Write-host -foregroundcolor green $RootTableName "and its related tables have been scripted to the target file." Enjoy!

  • Efficient way to check for changes to the contents of folders

    - by MrVimes
I am creating an application that maintains a database of files of a certain type in a given folder (and all subfolders) Initially the program will recurse the folders and add any file it finds of that type to the database. I want the application to have the ability to re-scan the folder and add any files that were not there the last time the folders were scanned. It can't use the date created property of the file because there is a high chance of a file being added to the folders that isn't a new file. I am wondering what the most efficient way of doing this is, and if there is a way that doesn't involve checking each file is in the database already (which, if there are 5000 files would mean 5000 queries of a list 5000 items in size, or 25 million 'checks' for the sql engine to perform) I suppose a more specific question to acheive the same goal would be - is there a property of a file (in Microsoft Windows) that will reliably tell you when that file arrived in that folder.

  • Programming Entity Framework, 2nd Edition (EF4) Table of Contents

We are closing in on finalizing the 2nd edition of Programming Entity Framework! Although the rough draft chapters are already available through Safari’s Rough Cuts program (here: http://oreilly.com/catalog/9780596807252) I have been editing and reshaping the content since those chapters were published. You can get the final print edition (August 15th or perhaps a bit earlier) at O’Reilly or pre-order it here on Amazon.com (here) (and elsewhere of course!) I believe that the book will...Did you know that DotNetSlackers also publishes .net articles written by top known .net Authors? We already have over 80 articles in several categories including Silverlight. Take a look: here.
