• IKImageView, Buttons work intermittently in 10.5 but ok in 10.6

  Hi all, In IB,I have connected some buttons to a IKImageView. Using its received Action 'ZoomIn:', 'ZoomOut:','ZoomImageToActualSize:' When I build for 10.6 I have no issues these work as expected. But in 10.5 (ppc), they sometimes work as expected and sometimes do not. I have even tried it programatically. But I get the same results. It is intermittent with each build after I have made some small change in IB that I need. But not changes that should affect how the view acts. The only buttons that seem to work through out are 'ZoomImageToFit' and the rotate ones. When the do not work as expected, I see no change to the current image in the view, but when my app (/s, I have had this issue before in different apps) changes the image The view reflects the last request from a button. So for example when it does not work. An image is displayed, I click the 'ZoomImageToActualSize:' button, nothing happens. I load a new image and it is displayed at Actual size. Example when it does work. An image is displayed, I click the 'ZoomImageToActualSize:' button, It is displayed at Actual size. By the way, I know I can reset the view default , before I load a new image. Also if I run the 10.5 app in 10.6, it works ok, but as above I get intermittent results with the same build on multible 10.5 machines. Does anyone know what is going on, is this a known bug? • Php script running as scheduled task hangs - help!

  Hi guys, I've built a php script that runs from the command line. It opens a connection into a pop3 email account and downloads all the emails and writes them to a database, and deletes them once downloaded. I have this script being called from the commandline by a bat file. in turn I have created a scheduled task which invokes the bat file every 5 minutes. The thing is that I have set the time out to zero for the fact that at times there could be emails with large attachments and the script actually downloads the attachments and stores them as raw files offline and the no timeout is so that the script doesnt die out during downloading. I've found that the program hangs sometimes and its a bit annoying at that - it always hangs are one point i.e. when negotiating the connection and getting connected to the mail server. And because the timeout is set to zero it seems to stay stuck up in taht position. And because of that the task is not run as its technically hung up. I want that the program should not timeout when downloading emails - however at the points where it is negotiating a connection or trying to connect to the mailserver there should be a timeout only at that point itself and not the rest of the program execution. How do I do this :(

• Matab - Trace contour line between two different points

  Hi, I have a set of points represented as a 2 row by n column matrix. These points make up a connected boundary or edge. I require a function that traces this contour from a start point P1 and stop at an end point P2. It also needs to be able trace the contour in a clockwise or anti-clockwise direction. I was wondering if this can be achieved by using some of matlabs functions. I have tried to write my own function but this was riddled with bugs and I have also tried using bwtraceboundary and indexing however this has problematic results as the points within the matrix are not in the order that create the contour. Thank you in advance for any help. Btw, I have included a link to a plot of the set of points. It is half the outline of a hand. The function would ideally trace the contour from ether the red star to the green triangle. Returning the points in order of traversal.

• Stored Procedure Does Not Fire Last Command

  On our SQL Server (Version 10.0.1600), I have a stored procedure that I wrote. It is not throwing any errors, and it is returning the correct values after making the insert in the database. However, the last command spSendEventNotificationEmail (which sends out email notifications) is not being run. I can run the spSendEventNotificationEmail script manually using the same data, and the notifications show up, so I know it works. Is there something wrong with how I call it in my stored procedure?   Hi, i want to connect my mobile internet to pc using bluetooth device. I installed blue soleil software in my pc. Steps: 1.I can able to pair my cellphone with pc bluetooth device. 2.I selected my device and select bluetooth dialup networking service. 3.It asks an alert "DUN connection with device?" in my mobile. 4.After Clicked "YES", connect bluetooth DUN connection window opens. 5.In that window there was a fields "User Name", "PassWord" which i leave empty and then in "Dial = 99**1#" and click Dial button. 6.After that it say "Registering your computer on the netwok.." and become fails. 7. The Error is as "error 734 the ppp link control protocal was terminated" The same procedure should be followed for Nokia 3110c it works fine.But in my samsung mobile c3053 it not connected also i am tryig with samsung corby pro BT3510 mobile . • Is it possible to send OSC commands to an iPad via the Camera Connection Kit?

  I'm building a small controller device that I'd like to partner with a computer. I've settled on using OSC out from my custom built hardware and am pretty satisfied with what I can get from WOscLib. Two goals I'd like to achieve are portability and a very nice ratio between battery:computing power, and this has lured me towards using iPhoneOS to accomplish my goals. I think the iPad would suit my needs perfectly, except that using wifi to broadcast OSC out from my device requires that device to be connected to a third device with a wifi chip, and this would destroy the goal of portability, whilst also introducing potential latency and stability headaches. My question is pretty simple: Can I push OSC commands FROM my controller TO an iPad via USB and the Camera Connection Kit? If I could accomplish this, the two major goals of my project would be fulfilled very nicely. This seems like it should be a simple little question, but researching this obsessively over the past few weeks has left me more almost more uncertain than if I had done no research at all. I'd really like some more confidence before I go down this route, and it seems like it should be possible. Any insight would be very, very appreciated.

• How do I manage dependencies for automated builds on my build server?

  I'm trying to implement continuous integration into our day to day workings. In our team, we're moving from just building our code in Visual Studio on our workstations and deploying, to using MSBuild.exe and automating on our build server (which is Jenkins) without the use of Visual Studio. We have external dependencies to references such as Automap in our projects. Because the automap (for example) dll isn't on the build server, the msbuild execution fails, for obvious reasons. There are other dll's which I need to be part of the build, I'm just using automap as an example. So what's the best way to get any dependencies onto the build server as part of the automated build? I've seen references to using a 'lib' folder, but I don't really understand where I should be putting it (in my project, filesystem, SVN ...?), and how the build server will get to it. I've also read that NuGet can do something with dependencies, but my build server isn't connected to the internet, and I don't understand how I can get my build to pull a NuGet package I may have created, and how it works together. Edit: I'm using subversion and we cannot use TeamCity as we would have to buy it and there's zero chance of funding.

• How to pair users? (Like Omegle.com)

  Hi, I'm trying to do an Omegle.com clone script, basically for learning purposes. I'm doing it in PHP/MySQL/AJAX. I'm having problems finding two users and connecting them. The purpose of omegle is connecting two users "randomly". What I'm doing right now is the following: When a user enters the website a session is assigned. There are 3 states for each session/user (Normal,Waiting,Chatting) At first the user has state Normal and a field "connected_to" = NULL If the users clicks the START button, a state of "Waiting" is assigned. Then it looks for another user with state Waiting, if doesn't find one then it keeps looping, waiting for the "connected_to" to change. The "connected_to" will change when other user click START and then find another user waiting and updates the sessions accordingly. Now this have several problems, like: A user only can be connected to one user at a time. In omegle you can open more than one chat simultaneously. I don't know if this is the best way. About the chat, each user is polling the events from the server with AJAX calls, I saw that omegle, instead of several HTTP requests each second (let's say), does ONE request and wait for an answer, that means that the PHP script is looping indefinitely until gets an answer.I did this using set_time_limit(30) each time the loop is started. Then when the Ajax call is done start over again. Is this approach correct? I will appreciate a LOT your answers, Thank you, Carlos

• Debugged Program Window Won't Close

  Hi, I'm using VS 2008 on a 64-bit XP machine. I'm debugging a 32-bit C++ DLL via a console program. The DLL and EXE projects are contained in the same SLN so that I can modify the DLL as I test. What happens is that every once in a while I kill the program with Debug | Stop Debugging (Shift-F5). VS stops the program, but the console window stays open! If I'm sitting at a breakpoint and hit Shift-F5, it will terminate properly, but if the program is running full-tilt when I stop it, I often see this instead. The big problem is that I can't close these zombie windows. Using End Task in Task Manager does nothing (no message, no nothing). When I shut down the machine, it is unable to due to the orphans and I have to resort to actually turning off the power. I think this is connected to having the DLL and EXE project in the same SLN, as for months I worked on this project in 2 VS instances, one for the DLL and the other for the EXE. I would continually jump back and forth between the windows as I worked. This problem never happened until I put the two projects into a single SLN. The single SLN works a lot better, but this anomaly is very irritating. Any ideas anyone? UPDATE After a bit of searching (here), I found that it appears to have to do with one of the updates from last Tuesday (KB977165 or KB978037). Thank you Microsoft for your excellent pre-release testing.

  Hi, I'm trying to launch an event when someone plugs in a usb device. For now, I'm content to simply print something to the console (in the finished product, it will launch an application). • Is it a good idea to use MySQL and Neo4j together?

  I will make an application with a lot of similar items (millions), and I would like to store them in a MySQL database, because I would like to do a lot of statistics and search on specific values for specific columns. But at the same time, I will store relations between all the items, that are related in many connected binary-tree-like structures (transitive closure), and relation databases are not good at that kind of structures, so I would like to store all relations in Neo4j which have good performance for this kind of data. My plan is to have all data except the relations in the MySQL database and all relations with item_id stored in the Neo4j database. When I want to lookup a tree, I first search the Neo4j for all the item_id:s in the tree, then I search the MySQL-database for all the specified items in a query that would look like: SELECT * FROM items WHERE item_id = 45 OR item_id = 345435 OR item_id = 343 OR item_id = 78 OR item_id = 4522 OR item_id = 676 OR item_id = 443 OR item_id = 4255 OR item_id = 4345 Is this a good idea, or am I very wrong? I haven't used graph-databases before. Are there any better approaches to my problem? How would the MySQL-query perform in this case?

• How to install previously-archived apps from xcode organizer to my iphone

  Hi all. Xcode keeps an archive of all the versions of my apps that I've submitted to the app store in the 'archived applications' section. I assumed using this I could install an old version of an app to my device, in order to reproduce any problems my client may have had with that particular version. However, when I try to do this I get an error: 'this executable was signed with invalid entitlements, the entitlements specified in your applications code signing entitlements do not match those specified in your provisioning profile' The original app was signed using our App Store distribution certificate, and I use the Organizer interface to re-sign it using our Developer profile. select the archived app select the version I want to test click 'share' select 'iphone developer' next to identity save to disk (saves the ipa file) then copy the ipa to the device using the little + button you see next to 'applications' on the screen you get when you select the connected device. Then I get the error, and the app isn't installed. Is there something obvious I'm doing wrong here? Or is there a different process to re-install an archived app to my device? Thanks,

• How to organize and manage multiple database credentials in application?

  Okay, so I'm designing a stand-alone web service (using RestLET as my framework). My application is divided in to 3 layers: Data Layer (just above the database, provides APIs for connecting to/querying database, and a database object) Object layer (responsible for serialization from the data layer... provides objects which the client layer can use without worrying about database) Client layer (This layer is the RestLET web service... basically just creates objects from the object layer and fulfills webservice request) Now, for each object I create in the object layer, I want to use different credentials (so I can sandbox each object...). The object layer should not know the exact credentials (IE the login/pw/DB URL etc). What would be the best way to manage this? I'm thinking that I should have a super class Database object in my data layer... and each subclass will contain the required log-in information... this way my object layer can just go Database db = new SubDatabase(); and then continue using that database. On the client level, they would just be able to go ItemCollection items = new ItemCollection(); and have no idea/control over the database that gets connected. I'm asking this because I am trying to make my platform extensible, so that others can easily create services off of my platform. If anyone has any experience with these architectural problems or how to manage this sort of thing I'd appreciate any insight or advice... Feel free to ask questions if this is confusing. Thanks! My platform is Java, the REST framework I'm using is RestLET, my database is MySQL.

• how to make a software and preserve database integrity and correctness and please help confused

  i have made an application project in vs 08 c#, sql server from vs 08. the database has like 20 tables and many fields in each have made an interface for adding deleting editting and retrieving data according to predefined needs of the users. now i have to 1) make to project in to a software which i can deliver to professor. that is he can just double click the icon and the software simply starts. no vs 08 needed to start the debugging 2) the database will be on one powerful computer (dual core latest everything win xp) and the user will access it from another computer connected using LAN i am able to change the connection string to the shared database using vs 08/ debugger whenever the server changes but how am i supposed to do that when its a software? 3)there will by many clients am i supposed to give the same software to every one, so they all can connect to the database, how will the integrity and correctness of the database be maintained? i mean the db.mdf file will be in a folder which will be shared with read and write access. so its not necessary that only one user will write at a time. so is there any coding for this or? please help me out here i am stuck do not know what to do i have no practical experience, would appreciate all the help thank you

• receiving data from serialport stops when main form is minimized or moved

  Sir, I apologize if this is already covered somewhere. I did a search and find something which I have already implemented. I am developing an application which receives data from a device connected via serialport. I am using SerialPort datareceived event to capture data. I am to display data in text boxes of the main form. Data is received frequently. I used Timer to send command to the device, in response device send some data. Timer interval is 100 ms. In every 100 ms interval some command is sent and correspondingly data is received. I used Invoke function to update the GUI elements like TExtbox, labels etc. Everything is fine. All the elements are updating beautifully. But during receiving data if I make any change in main form like moving form, minimizing, maximizing, or clicking somewhere in the form, then data receiving stops. I couldnot find the reason why its happening ? I also changed the timer interval to 200,300,400,500 but same problem is there. Please tell me why its happening? And possible solution... • Uploading Binary iPhone App "The signature was invalid" again again and again...

  Hello! I'm going crazy! I'm trying to upload the binary of my first application but I have always the same error! "The binary you uploaded was invalid. The signature was invalid, or it was not signed with an Apple submission certificate." I did everything, EVERYTHING!! I created the request for the certificate, used it for both developer and distribution certificate, created the provisioning profile (12 times!!!) always cleaning my keychain and my Xcode deleting the old certificates and profiles.. I reboot the machine, reboot Xcode, the log is correct, but... I can't upload my app!!!! Checked if my iPhone is connected (i tried with iPhone disconneted too). I checked the certificate in both my project settings "Distribuition" Configuration (duplicate of "Release" configuration) and in my target settings. Reveal in finder, compress the app and sent the zip... I tried with Application Loader and iTunes connect online.. but nothing! NOTHING!! I've spent 8 hours! And again i can't have my app uploaded!!! I'm really going crazy! Can anyone help me pleeease? Thx!

• Unable to pass variables from one view to another

  I have a detail view that includes three UIButtons, each of which pushes a different view on to the stack. One of the buttons is connected to a MKMapView. When that button is pushed I need to send the latitude and longitude variables from the detail view to the map view. I'm trying to add the string declaration in the IBAction: - (IBAction)goToMapView { MapViewController *mapController = [[MapViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"MapViewController" bundle:nil]; mapController.address = self.address; mapController.Title = self.Title; mapController.lat = self.lat; mapController.lng = self.lng; //Push the new view on the stack [[self navigationController] pushViewController:mapController animated:YES]; [mapController release]; mapController = nil; } But I get this when I try to build: 'error: incompatible types in assignment' for both lat and lng variables. So my questions are am I going about passing the variables from one view to another the right way? And does the MKMapView accept latitude and longitude as a string or a number?

  I've created iPhone app with in-app purchase. Now, I'm in testing phase. I created provisioning profile com.satyam.testapp In iTunes connected I created the application and uploaded the images, screen shots, desscription etc. I also created two id's for in-app purchase. One is com.satyam.testapp.book1 and the other one is com.satyam.testapp.book5 I created test account also for verifying my in-app purchases. Using com.stayam.testapp i created developer test profile and using the same in my developed application. I logged out the itunes app store account in my iphone. Now i started running my application on my iphone. Its saying that no items are there to purchase. But its not even asking me for credentials where i've to enter test account username and password..... how to debug it? • socket timeout and remove O_NONBLOCK option

  Hello, I implemented a socket timeout and retry but in order to do it I had to set the socket as a non-blocking socket. However, I need the socket to block. This was my attempt at a solution to these two problems. This is not working. Subsequent send calls block but never send any data. When I connect without the select and the timeout, subsequent send calls work normally. References: C: socket connection timeout How to reset a socket back to blocking mode (after I set it to nonblocking mode)? • problems with retrieving data that was saved outside of a grails webflow

  Hi, this is actually connected to an earlier question of mine here. Anyway, I have 3 domains that look like this: class A { ... static hasMany = [ b : B ] ... } class B { ... static belongsTo = [ a : A ] static hasMany = [ c : C ] ... } class C { ... static belongsTo = [ b : B ] ... } In my GSP page, I call an action in the Controller via a remote function in a javascript block (I'm using Dojo so I'm passing data to be saved this way... it's not a form per se so I use JSON for now to pass the data to the Controller). Let's say, I'm calling something like this: def someAction = { def jsonArr = [parse the JSON here] def tmpA = A.get(params.id) ... def tmpB = new B() b.someParam = jsonArr.someParam ... def tmpC = new C() tmpC.cParam = jsonArr.cParam tmpB.addToC(tmpC) tmpB.save(flush: true) //this may or may not be here but I'm adding it for the sake of completeness tmpA.addToB(tmpB) tmpA.save(flush: true) // NOTE: If I check here via println or whatnot, tmpA has a tmpB which has a tmpC... in other words, the data got saved. • C++ Builder 2010 Exception Dead Lock ???

  Hello Is this some kind of exception dead lock i am facing? How to avoid it ? Have a look at below line where i have TIdContext objects of connected clients stored in an objlist and at times i need to process it. But if one user is disconnected while another thread is processing the list, then for that freed TIdContext-Data object I am getting Access voilation, Ok its fine i am using try/catch but problem is that at below line there is some kind of dead lock and process hangs , if i attach a debuger it show Access voilation Again and Again and Again, and cpu coonsumption goes up because of that exception dead lock. AnsiString UserID = ((Tmyobject*) ((TIdContext*) ObjList->Objects[i])->Data)->UserID; i know i can check before accessing the object, if object is not Null, It works.. But my question is what if once in a blue moon the Data object is freed at the point when NULL check is performed and on next line when again i am accessing the object i get same dead lock ??? So how to avoid/handle this dead lock exception ? • INSERT INTO table doesn't work???

  I found a tutorial from nettuts and it has a source code in it so tried implementing it in my site.. It is working now. However, it doesn't have a Registration system so I am making one. The thing is, as I have expected, my code is not working... It doesn't seem to know how to INSERT into the database.
