    I'm adding a TimeEntry to a page where the user can add a row (clone) to a table. The row that is cloned is hidden (display:none).   • How to cache and store objects and set an expire policy in android?

    I have an app fetch data from internet, for better performance and bandwidth, I need to implement a cache layer. There are two different data coming from the internet, one is changing every one hour and another one does not change basically. So for the first type of data, I need to implement an expire policy to make it self deleted after it was created for 1 hour, and when user request that data, I will check the storage first and then goto internet if nothing found. I thought about using a SharedPrefrence or SQLDatabase to store the json data or serialized object string. My question is: 1) What should I use, SharedPrefrence or SQLDatabase or anything else, a piece of data is not big but there are maybe many instances of that data. 2) How to implement that expire system.

  • Trying to write a loop that uses an OutputStream to write to a text file.

    I'm not a java programmer, I'm a VB programmer. I am doing this as part of an assignment, however, I'm not asking for help on something assignment related. I'd like to figure out how to get the OutputStreamWriter to work properly in this instance. I just want to capture the values I'm generating and place them into a text document. The file is generated, but only one entry exists, not the 40 I'm expecting. I could do this in a heartbeat with VB, but java feels very strange to me right now. Your help is appreciated. I use the full width (1000px) of a div as a limiter, and a script that automatically sets the font of the h1-element so that it fits the width of the div without line break.   • WPF - Why doesn't Microsoft supply a decent set of most-used controls ?

    I've been playing with WPF for some months now, and I quite like it. But one of the things I don't get is why MS doesn't put a little more effort in helping developers by supplying basic controls, and I need to get this off my chest :) For example, I figure most applications somewhere will need to let you edit some properties - for configuration or whatever. What would be the most used types in a proprety-grid editor ? text numbers (byte, float/double, int, etc) colors ....etc. So why isn't there even something as simple as a control to edit numbers ? Like a generic NumericUpDown control that allows you to type in numbers (no text, no pasting invalid input) or spin them up/down according to some given rules (decimal, floating point, min/maxvalue) ? Why isn't there a generic colorpicker, so people get the same user-experience in every application ? Why isn't there a standard implementation of a SearchTextBox, a BreadCrumb-control, or all these other standard control types users have gotten accustomed to the last 10 years ? (..but at least they DID have the time to implement a generic splashscreen - because everyone knows that greatly increases user-productivity....) The well-known ideal is always to give people the same user-experience over different applications. So even if some of those controls would be easy to make - it would be preferred to have one version over different applications. I see people all over the internet trying to do the same stuff over and over again. Okay, so MS started a WPF Toolkit project on Codeplex that tries to implement some controls, but only did so half-heartedly and is completely dead by now (last update of the roadmap dates back to Mar 21 2009). The result of this is that a lot of people starting a WPF-project end up spending a lot of time on trying to figure out how to create some generic controls and get really frustrated. Wasn't the mantra "Developers, developers, developers!" ..? /Rant

  • VBA Macro On Timer style to run code every set number of seconds, i.e. 120 seconds

    I have a need to run a piece of code every 120 seconds. I am looking for an easy way to do this in VBA. I know that it would be possible to get the timer value from the Auto_Open event to prevent having to use a magic number, but I can't quite get how to fire off a timer to get something to run every 120 seconds. I don't really want to use an infinite loop with a sleep if I can avoid it. The problem is that when including a type that extends from the required type for an element, the xsi:type is not included in the generated xml string. But now I want to removed these two labels and want to show text(username, password) inside textfield. When user focuses on these textfields then texts should be removed and user can enter his desired username and password. I have also noticed that when user open a login form then font color of text(username, password) populated in textfield(username, password) is of diffent color and when user start typing in that field then previous text is removed and new font color is black. How is it possible?

    Say I were to have a few readonly variables for filepaths, would I be able to guarantee the order in which the values are assigned based on the order of declaration? e.g. readonly string basepath = @"my\base\directory\location"; readonly string subpath1 = basepath + @"\abc\def"; readonly string subpath2 = basepath + @"\ghi\klm"; Is this a safe approach or is it possible that basepath may still be the default value for a string at the time subpath1 and subpath2 make a reference to the string? I realize I could probably guarantee the order by assigning the values in a constructor instead of at the time of declaration. However, I believe this approach wouldn't be possible if I needed to declare the variables inside of a static class (e.g. Program.cs for a console application, which has a static void Main() procedure instead of a constructor).

Now when i change the visiblity of a few columns, the width of each column varies. How do i maintain a uniform column width for each column whether or not there are any invisible columns?... Also how do i get the count of number of visible columns. the ColumnCount property returns total number of columns and not the number of visible ones.
