• OpenGL (glx) not working with ubuntu 12.10

  It all started when I installed nvidia's own (download from website) driver. Uninstalling it and reverting back to nvidia-current didn't solve the problem, so I have been playing with this for a while. It seems glx support is missing, and my intel graphics is not responding. gnome loads only in fallback mode. It seems bumblebee was to blame, but I'm not sure what was going wrong...

• Multi Monitor Setup Problems

  I have Ubuntu 10.04 LTS - the Lucid Lynx. I have until recently been using a nVida Graphics card (NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT) with two monitors attached, this all worked fine and dandy. A couple of days ago I bought two new identical LCD monitors for a multi monitor setup and two ATI graphics cards (ATI Sapphire Radeon HD5450). NOTE *All monitors work fine in Windows XP, 2k, Vista and 7 After I had booted into Ubuntu only one display came on, that I kind of expected anyway, then I removed the driver for the nVidia card and downloaded the ATI version which gave me the ATI Catalyst Control Center - in that only two of the displays were showing the third was disabled and showing unknown driver. I enabled the third monitor that stated "Unkown Driver" and had to reboot, upon reboot none of the displays work. I restarted and booted up into recovery mode and from now that is only what I can get into using a failsafe driver. It seems according to the log that a server is already active for Display 0 and I have to remove /tmp/.X0-lock and start again. This is what the log file is saying: Fatal Server Error Server is already active for display 0 if this server is no longer running, remove /tmp/.X0-lock and start again. (WW) xf86 closeconsole: KDSETMODE failed: Bad file descriptor (WW) xf86 closeconsole: VT_GETMODE failed: Bad file descriptor (WW) xf86 closeconsole: VT_GETSTATE failed: Bad file descriptor ddxSigGiveUp: closing log I have tried looking at my xorg.config file but unfortunately I have not really got a clue as to how it "should" be - I have tried regenerating it using this command from a terminal: sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg but that had no effect so I am currently stuck in failsafe driver mode but two monitors are active but are mirroring each other. I hope that this is not to long - looking back I have been going on a bit! but I am just trying to explain as much as I can... I have asked this on Linuxquestions but nobody seems to know either or at least I have not had any responses. Could some kind soul please help explain what I can do from here? I would be eternally grateful.   Hi. I am currently integrating a payment gateway into an application. Following a successful transaction the remote payment gateway posts details of the transaction back to my application (ITN). It posts to a HttpHandler that is used to read and validate the data. Part of the validation performed is a POST made by the handler to a validation service provided by the payment gateway. This effectively posts some of the original form values received back to the payment gateway to ensure they are valid.   I've configured a db w/ a FileStream group and have a table w/ File type on it. When attempting to insert a streamed file and after I create the table row, my query to read the filepath out and the buffer returns a null file path. I can't seem to figure out why though. • How do you fix an SVN 409 Conflict Error

  I used to use SVN 1.4 on OS X Leopard and everything was fine. A couple of weeks ago I installed a fresh copy of OS X 10.6. The version of SVN that comes with Snow Leopard is 1.6.5. I went ahead and built my own copy with 1.6.6. I'm using the built in apache server and just hosting repositories locally. Everything appeared to work fine until I actually tried to commit something. Everytime I try to commit a change, I get the following message: Transmitting file data .svn: Commit failed (details follow): svn: MERGE of '/svn/svn2': 409 Conflict (http://localhost) This happens with my old repositories, so I created a couple of new ones. Same deal. I also tried using the 1.6.5 version that comes with the system...same. Finally, I tried upgrading to the latest stable SVN (1.6.9) and still got the same problem. • Django ORM leaves opened connections

  I'm using django ORM with Postgres. After any operations with models (e.g. simple select) in postgres appears new opened connection in IDLE state. I've tried all possible transaction manipulations, I've tried calling connection.close() manually. All useless. And sooner or later, I'm recieveing "FATAL: connection limit exceeded for non-superusers" message. What can I've made wrong?

  I have a JPA/Hibernate application and am trying to get it to run against H2 and MySQL. Currently I am using Atomikos for transactions and C3P0 for connection pooling. Despite my best efforts I am still seeing this in the log file (and DAO integration tests are failing with org.hibernate.NonUniqueObjectException even though Spring Test should be rolling back the database after each test method): [20100613 23:06:34] DEBUG [main] SessionFactoryImpl.(242) | instantiating session factory with properties: .....edited for brevity.... hibernate.connection.autocommit=true, ....more stuff follows The connection URL to H2 has AUTOCOMMIT=OFF, but according to the H2 documentation: this will not work as expected when using a connection pool (the connection pool manager will re-enable autocommit when returning the connection to the pool, so autocommit will only be disabled the first time the connection is used So I figured (apparently correctly) that Hibernate is where I'll have to indicate I want autocommit off. • JBOSS 7.1 started hanging after 6 months of deployment

  My application is been live from 6 months. The application is host on jboss 7.1 server. From last few days I am finding numerous problem of hanging of jboss server. Though I restart the jboss server again, it does not invoke. I need to restart the server machine itself. Can anyone please let me know what could be the cause of these problems and the workable resolutions or any suggestion ? Kindly dont degrade the question as I am facing a lot problems due to this hanging issue. Also for the information, the application is based on Java, GWT, Hibernate 3.   Hello all! I have a Java / Spring MVC 3 application, using Hibernate and a MySQL database. In my controller, I have this source code: Set<ConstraintViolation<Person>> failures = validator.validate(p); if (failures.isEmpty()) { Project project = this.projectService.findProjectById(projectid); Person newPerson = this.personService.addPerson(p); Set<Person> persons = this.personService.getAllPersonsByProjectId(projectid); persons.add(newPerson); project.setPersons(persons); Set<ConstraintViolation<Project>> failures1 = validator.validate(project); if (!failures1.isEmpty()) { System.out.println("ERROR"); } else { System.out.println("NO ERROR"); } this.projectService.updateProject(project); return Collections.singletonMap("person", newPerson); } Project and Person are a many-to-many relation annotated with @manytomany and Project is the mapping owner. The new Person is added, but on the line with this.projectService.updateProject(project); I get an error. What it does it this in a Dao Hibernate implementation: public void updateProject(Project p) { SessionFactory sessionFactory = HibernateUtil.getSessionFactory(); Session sess = sessionFactory.getCurrentSession(); Transaction tx = sess.beginTransaction(); sess.update(p); tx.commit(); } It failed on the line tx.commit();. My check with if (!failures1.isEmpty()) { tell me that there are nor errors in my project. So what's wrong here? And why there is a validation of my project?
