• Can I properly use NS2 on latest Ubuntu 12.04?

  I am a novice user for Ubuntu because I need to work with NS2. NS2 properly work only in Linux, Ubuntu. Now, I wonder if it can properly work on latest version Ubuntu. My current window is Window7. I also want to use Window7. So, which one will be better on parallel booting of Window 7 and Ubuntu or using VMWare on Window7 to install Ubuntu. My RAM is 4G. My processor speed is 1.6G. If I use VMWare, my C drive is only extra 10G. So, does VMWare can work properly in D drive? Please let me know which way is the best for my situation. I hope the advice from anyone.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xyJkS8XjgA&feature=youtu.be I managed to take a video with what happens on my Ubuntu 12.10 laptop when I play with the volume and hover with the mouse over the slider and when I press Ctrl + Alt + D (show Desktop/minimize all) The real bugs are those in which the panel becomes transparent on the down side, exactly above the volume slider (and not only when that slider appears, but also when brightness slider appears, and when blocking my touchpad applet appears) and when I have a maximized window, more maximized windows or a non maximized window that touches the panel, while I use Ctrl+Alt+D (show Desktop/hide all normal windows). Is there a way to solve this bug? PS: The other bugs are from Record My Desktop. I didn't have the mentioned bugs in ubuntu 12.04, but I like more the graphics in 12.10.

  I have a site that does a standard forward to another site [301 Redirect]. • Bluetooth connectivity on Ubuntu 11.04

  I tried to connect to a device via Bluetooth from my laptop running Ubuntu 11.04, and I have some difficulty. I had to write a script to restart the Bluetooth dongle (it does not activate Bluetooth automatically). An icon appears in the top status bar on Ubuntu (good). Pairing of the devices happen easily enough (good). Trying to view files on the device from the laptop, the window that comes up does not show the paired devices. There is a window, but it's too small, and you dont know which device is selected (bad). If you choose the wrong device (I only knew it was the wrong device when my cell phone lit up), the icon on the status bar disappears, and doesn't come back, even though the devices are still paired (bad). Does anyone have that problem, and is there a fix? A.

  I am trying to install Ubuntu on my new pc but I am encountering problems. When I boot from the installation CD, everything runs fine until the "window" when the user has to decide to Try Ubuntu or Install it in the machine. Well that "window" appears in blank, and my mouse and keyboard behaves really slow. I can't do anything , so i have to shut it down by pressing power button.   I have downloaded an ISO file of UBANTU 12.10 x86 from the official website (www.ubantu.com). When I tried to install it everything was going good till I got the error message something like "the media you are using is probably currupt or you have an hard disk error . It did't told me what to do. I am already running WINDOW 7 ultimate in my pc and it is running fine i have tested my hard disk for error and no errors was found by "system mechanic pro 11" . after that i tried to install my WINDOW 7 on the same partition and it was successful . Even now I am unable to install UBANTU. It is my first experience with UBANTU so I don't know what to do. please guide me . my email is [email protected]

  Hi, I tried to make up an example to show my problem. My combobox has a list of objects as itemssource. In my example it's a list of Persons. In the combobox i want to show the first name and the last name of the person. But i want to save the last name of the person in the "owner" property of the house-object. My guess was that i bind the SelectedValue to my property and the SelectedValuePath to the name of the property in the comboboxitem. I already googled and tried a view other versions but nothing worked. If i use SelectedItem instead of SelectedValue with the same binding at least the value of the "tostring" function get's written in the property. Sadly that solution doesn't fit in the Rest of my Program because i don't want to override "ToString". • Integrating CKFinder with InnovaStudio WYSIWYG Editor

  I use InnovaStudio WYSIWYG Editor, and I am trying to replace InnovaStudio's Asset Manager with CKFinder. There's a line in the editor configuration for what URL to use for the asset manager. I have pointed it at CKFinder. The part I can't get to work is getting the field to populate with the double-clicked file's path from CKFinder. It appears to use the 'func' parameter to specify the callback function. The URL I'm calling is: /common/ckfinder/ckfinder.html?action=js&func=setAssetValue The InnovaStudio WYSIWYG Editor provides the setAssetValue(v) callback function for setting the field value. The v parameter should hold the URL. CKFinder pops up as expected when it's invoked, but neither double-clicking the thumbnails nor using the "select" option in the context menu works. The normal/expected behavior is that CKFinder closes and the target field is populated with the URL for the selected asset. Additional Info: The InnovaStudio WYSIWYG Editor has a "popup" for adding an image or flash file to the content. This pop-up is in an iframe. When it calls CKFinder (or it's own asset manager), that is also in an iframe. It appears that CKFinder is looking in the scope of the main window rather than the image/flash iframe that actually contains the field that needs to be populated.

  Hi Everyone, I've been trying to use TransactionScope with a DB2 database (using DB2 .Net provider v 9.0.0.2 and c# 2.0) which SHOULD be supported according to IBM. I have tried all the advice i could find on the IBM forums (such as here) to no avail. I have enabled XA transactions on my XP Sp2 machine, tried also from a Win 2003 Server machine but i consistently get the infamous error: ERROR [58005] [IBM][DB2/NT] SQL0998N Error occurred during transaction or heuristic processing. Reason Code = "16". Subcode = "2-80004005". SQLSTATE=58005 The windows event log says: The XA Transaction Manager attempted to load the XA resource manager DLL. The call to LOADLIBRARY for the XA resource manager DLL failed: DLL=C:\APPS\IBM\DB2v95fp2\SQLLIB\BIN\DB2APP.DLL File=d:\comxp_sp2\com\com1x\dtc\dtc\xatm\src\xarmconn.cpp Line=2467. Also, granted the NETWORK SERVICE user full rights to the folder and dll. Here's the MSDTC startup message MS DTC started with the following settings: Security Configuration (OFF = 0 and ON = 1): Network Administration of Transactions = 0, Network Clients = 0, Inbound Distributed Transactions using Native MSDTC Protocol = 0, Outbound Distributed Transactions using Native MSDTC Protocol = 0, Transaction Internet Protocol (TIP) = 0, XA Transactions = 1 Any help would be much appreciated! The animation works fine, but on all labels (not only the one I want). I tried to switch SetTarget by SetTargetName but labels are created into my window by the constructor and names can not be founded when I try "SetTargetName". Do you have any ideas ? • SSIS Intermittent variable error: The system cannot find the file specified

  Our SSIS pacakges a structured as one Control package and many child packages (about 30) that are invoked from the control package. The child packages are invoked with Execute Package Task. There is one Execute Package Task per child package. Each Execute Package Task uses File Connection Manager to specify path to the child package dtsx file. There is one File Connection Manager per child package. Each File Connection Manager has an expression defined for ConnectionString property. This expression looks like this: @[Template::FolderPackages]+"MyPackage.dtsx", the file name is different for each package. The variable (FolderPackages) is specified in the SSIS package configuration file. The error that is generated during run time is "Error 0x80070002 while loading package file "MyPackage.dtsx". The system cannot find the file specified." The package that fails is different from run to run and sometimes no packages fail at all. This is when run on exactly the same environment/data etc. I ran FileMon during this error and found out that when the error happens SSIS tries to read the dtsx file from a wrong place, namely from system32. I checked that this is identical to what would happen if @[Template::FolderPackages] variable were empty, but because the very same variable is used for every child package and works for some but doesn't work sometimes for others, I have no expalnation to this fact. Anything obvious, or time to raise a support call with Microsoft?

• BitBlt ignores CAPTUREBLT and seems to always capture a cached copy of the target...

  I am trying to capture screenshots using the BitBlt function. However, every single time I capture a screenshot, the non-client area NEVER changes no matter what I do. It's as if it's getting some cached copy of it. The client area is captured correctly. If I close and then re-open the window, and take a screenshot, the non-client area will be captured as it is. Any subsequent captures after moving/resizing the window have no effect on the captured screenshot. Again, the client area will be correct. Furthermore, the CAPTUREBLT flag seems to do absolutely nothing at all. I notice no change with or without it. Qt's documentation states that: The grabWindow() function grabs pixels from the screen, not from the window, i.e. if there is another window partially or entirely over the one you grab, you get pixels from the overlying window, too. However, I experience the exact opposite... regardless of the CAPTUREBLT flag. I've tried everything I can think of... nothing works. Any ideas?

• Content management recommendations for website?

  Hello I am working on a website that has a wide range of content. (News, FAQs, tutorials, blog, articles, product pages etc.) Currently a lot of this content is static or uses special-purpose scripts. I would like to move most of it under the wing of a single content manager. I have not used out of the box content management software previously so am hoping for some recommendations on what options there are and what might be best suited to a project like this. Whether the manager is open source or commercial, and what language it is written in, are not so important. I can customize the environment as necessary. The most important things are: 1) The ability to manage a wide variety of content. 2) The ability to create highly customized templates for a single page of content or entire category of content. 3) Flexibility. ie The ability to integrate managed content with other pages not controlled by the content manager. The numbers are different on the device, but similar--lat is still zero and long is a very unlikely high negative number. Elsewhere in the controller I'm accepting a button press and uploading a file (an image I just took with the camera) with its geocoding info associated, and I need that self.waitingForLocation to inform the CLLocationManager delegate that I already hit that button and once its done its deal, it should go ahead and fire off the upload. Thing is, up in the button-click-receiving method, I test see if CL is finished by testing self.mark.latitude, which seems to be getting set zero...

• How can I anchor a textbox in wpf ?

  I have a window with tabs. On one of the tabs, I have a layout like below. (In fact it is more complicated, I have 4 text boxes in a row, and I have more rows.) How can I make the 3rd textbox have the width of the label + the width of the text box above, that is, to have them properly aligned ? The problem is that WPF widens the 3rd textbox, when I type text into it. Using hardcoded numbers for the sizes defeats the whole purpose of WPF. I could do that way 10 times faster in Windows Forms than in WPF. • Multiple undo managers for a text view

  Hi, I've a text view that gets its content from an attributed string stored in a model object. I list several of these model objects in a drawer and when the user clicks on one the text view swaps its content. I now need to also swap the undo manager for the text view. I initialise an undo manager on my model object and use undoManagerForTextView to return it to the text view, but something's not quite right. Strategically placed logging statements show me that everything's working as planned: on startup a new model object is initialised correctly and a non-null undo manager is always pulled by the text view. But when it comes to actually doing undo, I just can't get the behaviour I want. I open a window, type something and press cmd+z, and undo works. I open a window, type something, select a new model on the table, type something, go back to the first model and try to undo and all I get is a beep. Something on the documentation made me raise an eyebrow, as it would mean that I can't have undo with several model objects: The default undo and redo behavior applies to text fields and text in cells as long as the field or cell is the first responder (that is, the focus of keyboard actions). Once the insertion point leaves the field or cell, prior operations cannot be undone.

• Blackberry: How to properly handle focus traversal in custom field?

  I am writing an app for Blackberry and I have the following problem: I have implemented a custom field by extending the Manager class. The field is quite simple, it consists of a label and two check boxes, yes and no. The fields are laid out so that the label is on the left and uses as much space as it can while still allowing room for the check boxes which are positioned next to each other at the right and vertically centred compared to the label (if it spans more than one line). So it looks like this: This is a question? O Yes O No Everything is fine so far in terms of laying out the fields. But now I am trying to handle focus traversal. First of all the default behaviour when the user scrolls up or down is to move between the yes and no options. I want to move to the next field above or below when up or down is pressed, so I did this: protected int moveFocus(int amount, int status, int time) { if (status == 537001984 || status == -1610481664) { // Up or down was pressed // Don't move focus between yes and no when up or down is pressed. return amount; } return super.moveFocus(amount, status, time); } And that seems to work. The next thing I would like to do is to remember which option last had the focus when the field loses focus, then on gaining focus again (regardless of which direction the focus comes from) set this field to have the focus. I tried overriding onUnfocus and onFocus so that onUnfocus I note which field was focussed then onFocus setFocus to that field. But I get a StackOverflowError, I guess because the call to setFocus on a field within the manager actually calls onFocus for the manager itself again?? So does anyone know how I should be doing this? I checked the DateField and it has the exact behaviour I am looking for, i.e. it remembers if you were last on the day, month or year field and sets this field to focus when the field itself gets the focus.

  I am new Pentaho Reporting Tool. I have the following question: When I created a report using Pentaho Report Designer, it output a report file having .prpt extension. So as we haven't specified any datasource information here, I think that the .prpt file contains that information in it. If that's true than Isn't Jasper is better Reporting tool than Pentaho because when we display Jasper reports, we have to provide datasource details also so in that way our report is flexible and is not bound to any particular database.
