  • AndroMDA maven code generation and JPA Annotations

    I am using the AndroMDA plugin for maven to generate code from an uml diagram made in MagicDraw. When the code is generated, AndroMDA desings the JPA annotation for the persitence layer. I think that at the compilation process AndroMDA uses Naming Strategies to determine the Table and Column names for the DataBase. I want to determine how AndroMDA desings this JPA annotations, because I need to display this DataBase names based on the UML entity and atributtes names. I was regarding if there is an API of AndroMDA that I could use to do this by giving it the uml diagram. Or at least, to know the Naming Strategies used by AndroMDA to achive that. AndroMDA at the compilation process design the JPA annotations for the Entities, Attributes, etc that are written in my java classes under a series of rules that exist within the EJB3 cartridge of AndroMDA. (The further Database is created using those JPA annotations). I want to create a program that returns me the same Table and Attributes names wrote on the JPA annotations, by giving it the .xml file of the uml diagram of a project. I was hoping that I could take advantage of the EJB3 cartridge to generate those Tables and Attribute names with my program. One way could be using an API of AndroMDA that do this(if it exits), or at least, by implementing the same rules used by the EJB3 cartridge for that matter. To be more illustrative, For example: If in my uml model I have an Entity called “CompanyGroup”, AndroMDA would generate the following code for the class definition: @javax.persistence.Entity @javax.persistence.Table(name = "COMPANY_GR") Public class CompanyGroup implements java.io.Serializable, Comparable< CompanyGroup This is just an example (not a real case), but nevertheless, the way how AndroMDA do the translation from “CompanyGroup” to “COMPANY_GR” has to be specified somewhere.   • Create custom rewrite rule for my WordPress plugin

    I'm writing a plug-in for WordPress which in fact will be a separate ordering module (it will be placed in an IFRAME on the site I'm developing as well as others) but with its admin tied into WordPress. I wrote the administration part without too much hassle, however I'm having trouble with the front-end. First of all I'd like my script to be accessible via www.mysite.com/order/ and, as per the WordPress codex, I found I need to place the following code into my main plugin file: add_action('init', 'ta_flush_rewrite_rules'); function ta_flush_rewrite_rules() { global $wp_rewrite; $wp_rewrite->flush_rules(); } add_action('generate_rewrite_rules', 'ta_add_rewrite_rules'); function ta_add_rewrite_rules( $wp_rewrite ) { $new_rules = array("order/(.+)" => "/wp-content/plugins/my-plugin/order.php"); $wp_rewrite->rules = $new_rules + $wp_rewrite->rules; } But it doesn't work and I don't really want to get dirty with .htaccess hacking. Furthermore even if this would work, the order.php file is a separate file from my plugin. This means that I'll have to include some WordPress files in order to have access to the database and other helper classes and functions. That brings us to question number 2: is there a way for the URL to call a function of my plugin to render the order page?

    So, I have a form where I load divs as I go asking for various user input and displaying some offers. If I remove the validation methods (rules, messages, submitHandler), everything works fine.   • FxCop hates my usage of MVVM

    I've just started to work with FxCop to see how poorly my code does against its full set of rules. I'm starting off with the "Breaking" rules, and the first one I came across was CA2227, which basically says that you should make a collection property's setter readonly, so that you can't accidentally change the collection data. Since I'm using MVVM, I've found it very convenient to use an ObservableCollection with get/set properties because it makes my GUI updates easy and concise in the code-behind. However, I can also see what FxCop is complaining about. Another situation that I just ran into is with WF, where I need to set the parameters when creating the workflow, and I'd hate to have to write a wrapper class around the collection I'm using just to avoid this particular error message. For example, here's a sample runtime error message that I get when I make properties readonly: The activity 'MyWorkflow' has no public writable property named 'MyCollectionOfStuff' What are you opinions on this? I could either ignore this particular error, but that's probably not good because I could conceivably violate this rule elsewhere in the code where MVVM doesn't apply (model only code, for example). I think I could also change it from a property to a class with methods to manipulate the underlying collection, and then raise the necessary notification from the setter method. I'm a little confused... can anyone shed some light on this?

  • Debugging SIGABRT within NSManagedObjectContext -save:

    From inside NSManagedObjectContext -save: I am getting this message: Assertion failed: (_Unwind_SjLj_Resume() can't return), function _Unwind_SjLj_Resume, file /SourceCache/libunwind/libunwind-24.1/src/Unwind-sjlj.c, line 326. Program received signal: “SIGABRT”. warning: Unable to read symbols for /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport/4.2.1 (8C148)/Symbols/Developer/usr/lib/libXcodeDebuggerSupport.dylib (file not found). This happens when I delete an Experiment object with to-many with Run which has to-many with Sample which has to-one with Data. Experiment also has to-many with Page which has to-many with Display which has to-many to Run. I mention this to point out the cyclical nature of the graph. Here is a simplified graph of model: I had been using Delete Rules but have now switched to "No Action" delete rules in combination with -prepareForDeletion methods for all of these classes. This change made no difference. In both cases, the error message is the same. Interestingly, when I relaunch the app, all the objects that were marked for deletion have been deleted. Also, if an Experiment has no Run objects, then deletion works without incidence. For that matter, deleting a single Run from an Experiment also works. I am hoping that someone has seen something like this and can offer advice on what would cause this. Or, if someone has advice on how to get libXcodeDebuggerSupport.dylib for iOS 4.2.1, that might also be helpful. Update: I followed advice found here and was able to get Xcode to find libXcodeDebuggerSupport.dylib for iOS 4.2.1. But this did not help at all in diagnosing problem - which persists.

  • C++ linking error when linking postgresql

    When compiling my code I run into an issue as follows: io.cpp:21: undefined reference to `PQconnectdb' as well as all other instances of missing postgres function calls occurring in my code. Obviously this is a linking problem, I'm just not sure what the link issue is. I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 and installed psql (PostgreSQL) 9.1.6 from synaptic. As well I'll short circuit this, I am using #include "libpq-fe.h". Any ideas on how I can get this linking issue resolved?

    I am hoping to make this question and the answers to it the definitive guide to dealing with daylight saving time, in particular for dealing with the actual change overs. Many systems are dependent on keeping accurate time, the problem is with changes to time due to daylight savings - moving the clock forward or backwards. For instance, one has business rules in an order taking system that depend on the time of the order - if the clock changes, the rules might not be as clear. How should the time of the order be persisted? There is of course an endless number of scenarios - this one is simply an illustrative one. How have you dealt with the daylight saving issue? What assumptions are part of your solution? (looking for context here) As important, if not more so: What did you try that did not work? Why did it not work? I would be interested in programming, OS, data persistence and other pertinent aspects of the issue. General answers are great, but I would also like to see details especially if they are only available on one platform.

    Hi, We are using Nlog as our logging framework and I cannot find a way to archive files the way I want. I would like to have the date of when the logging took place in the logging file name. Which cause frustration when you want to read logs later. It also seems like I have to have atleast on # in the archiveFileName, which I rather not. So if you got a solution for that also I would be twice as thankful =)
