    Hi, Is there any reason to use a <div style="display:inline-block"> instead of a <span> to layout a webpage? Can I put content nested inside the span? What is valid and what isn't? Thanks!   • Refresh a ListView if I change the content of the ListItem

    Hi, I have a ListView in my android activity. And I populate the ListView by sub-class the BaseAdaptor (which returns a View in getView() method). What if in my click listener of a button in a list item view, I change the text of the TextView in the List item view or change the dimension of the list item view by adding/removing children of the list item view What is an efficient to refresh my listView? I don't want the listView to re-trigger a query since there is no data change. Thank you.

  • jQuery: resizing element cuts off parent's background

The background is applied to the div.page but because its child is getting resized, it resizes as well, cutting off the background image. It's hard to explain so please look at the link above to see what I mean. I guess what I'm trying to ask is: is there a way to resize an element without resizing its parent? I tried setting height and min-height of .page to 100% and 101% but that didn't work. I tried making the background image fixed, but nada. It also happens if I add the background to the body or even html. Help?

  • Dojo: dijit.form.DropDownButton content not positioned correctly

    I have the following setup: <div dojoType="dijit.form.DropDownButton"> <span>Modify</span> <div dojoType="dijit.Menu"> <div dojoType="dijit.MenuItem">...</div> </div> </div> There is of course more to the final setup. The problem I Have is that if I scroll in the page, the popup menu under the DropDownButton comes much higher in the page. I suspect that it's subtracting the scrollOffset for the position off the popup, while in reality that is not needed. Anyone got any tips about how to fix this? I would prefer to use declerative html syntax for using Dojo widgets. == Fixed == I updated to dojo 1.4.2 and this got fixed then.

    I have an ajax request to a php file returning me rows of 3 values each. I want to append these into a table. This works. Of course that will ruin my web appearance. I change new HTML with new ScrolPanel(new HTML) seems not working. so How can I Format my FlexTable? is there any option beside flextable or scrollpanel?

I have each group of images in a div, but the divs line up vertically down the page, I want them to line up horizontally in a row. Do this external code get packaged with the spreadsheet what if people start emailing the spreadsheet around. Is there any overhead of this additional assemblies. Is there risk of the binaries getting detached from the spreadsheet It seems like microsoft has been pushing VSTO for over 5 years now but you read lots of mixed reviews and issues. Are we at the point where companies that do large VBA excel solutions can fully migrate over to dotnet without any real worries?

  • Div at bottom of window and adaptable height div

    Is there a way to get a div to always be at the bottom of the window, and another div to change its height to fill any space that it leaves, and that div will scroll if its content is too long. (I never want the window to scroll). This is best illustrated by a picture: The green div will always put itself at the bottom of the window, and the orange div will fill the gap. When the window is smaller, like in the right hand image, the orange div will be smaller and will scroll. The green div can be toggled. Sometimes the green div will have display: none, and then the orange div will stretch to the bottom. When the green div has display: block again, it will look like the picture again. It has to work in IE6. So far I can get the green div to go to the bottom by: position: absolute; bottom: 0; But I don't know how to get the orange div to do what I want.

But that is not what I want, I need all other divs stay where they are, and my hidden FAQ section just float on the top. Not sure how to do it.   • How to make a div extend when floating it?

    I'm trying to create a bar with a dynamic horizontal width. The backgrounds are transparent pngs so they can't overlap. I have one for the left side, one to repeat-x across the dynamic width middle and then another bg for the right. Here is kinda what I have so far... .bar{ width: 100%; } .left{ width: 50px; height: 50px; float: left; } .mid{ height: 50px; float: left; } .right{ width: 50px; height: 50px; float: right; } <div class="bar"> <div class="left"></div> <div class="mid"></div> <div class="right"></div> </div> So the main problem is extending the .mid all the way across to meet the right, width: 100% doesn't work. The other problems is what can I do if I have content that needs to overlap the .left and .mid divs? Set up another div and use z-index? Thanks so much!
