Using numeric values to select item from a dropdown box with JavaScript

Hi, I have a multitude of dropdown boxes within my webpage. One of these dropdown boxes is used for a single selected value out of a list of options. <SELECT id="Box0" name=""> <OPTION value="0">none</OPTION> <OPTION value="1">first</OPTION> <OPTION value="2">second</OPTION> </SELECT> How can I add an event to this section, so when it is in focus, I could use numeric keys like 1,2.. to select an option instead of using the mouse or arrow keys for selecting an option? For clarification: if I press "1" on my keyboard, the selected value would become "first", with "2" the selected value becomes "second". I choose not to use a library/framework such as JQuery/Mootools. Thanks,

Visual Studio creating bin/ folder in wrong location.

In Visual Studio 2008, I have a solution with a number of projects. Each project has the same build output path of "..\bin\Debug\" for debug, and "..\bin\Release\" for release. So the directory structure looks like this: solution\ bin\ project1\ project2\ project3\ This all works fine, all the assemblies go to the correct location when I build the project, etc. Howevever, when I first open the solution in Visual Studio, an empty bin folder is created one level up from where it should. So I am getting: bin\ solution\ bin\ project1\ project2\ project3\ This folder is only created when I first open the solution. Never when I build. I have looked through the .sln and every .csproj file, and I cannot work out why this folder is being created. So, my questions are: a) Why is this bin folder being created? b) How do I stop Visual Studio from creating this bin folder?

Powershell and some simple string manipulation

need some help with building a powershell script to help with some basic string manipulation. I know just enough powershell to get in trouble, but can't figure out the syntax or coding to make this work. I have a text file that looks like this - Here is your list of servers: server1 server2.domain.local server3 Total number of servers: 3 I need to take that text file and drop the first and last lines (Always first and last.) Then I need to take every other line and basically turn it into a CSV file. The final output should be a text file that looks like this - server1,server2.domain.local,server3 Any suggestions on where to start? Thanks!

Eclipse - Galileo IDE force save of changed files before build?

Hi, When I used previous versions of Eclipse (e.g. Ganymede/Europa) if I had edited a file and then attempted a build Eclipse would prompt me to save first. Since I updated to Galileo (Build id: 20090920-1017 & just checked for updates) when I build I'm not prompted to save first. Perhaps the dialog had a checkbox for "don't tell me again" which I mistakenly checked on??? I figure it is just a preference setting some where but I can't seem to find it, search in Preferences for 'save' and for 'build' but did not find it. I tried "Save automatically before build" but that actually did not work for me, and isn't really what I was looking for anyways. Any ideas? thanks. Edit: I'm actually using an Ant script to 'build' (right click on script and Run As...Ant Build). So perhaps my original wording was a bit off base since I did not state how I was building.

Selenium Test Results are empty

I've Jenkins and selenium configured to run tests after the app is build, everything is ok till the moment that selenium tests should run, actually the selenium test suite starts correctly and then it stops after the first test and does not go forward. I'm using VNC to watch what is happening. The logs produces by selenium are empty. Im testing those test via java -jar /var/lib/selenium/selenium-server-jar -browserSessionReuse -htmlSuite *firefox https://test-a.4pm.si /var/lib/jenkins/jobs/4pm_test/workspace/4pm_ee-test/selenium_tests/suite.html /var/lib/jenkins/jobs/4pm_test/workspace/selenium-result.html the selenium-result.html is empty it just execute the first test which is OK and stops there is there any selenium server setting I need to set?

Hibernate session method to update object

I need this roadmap of a Hibernate managed object instance. First, I create an instance with initial properties and persist this object in a db. Then session associated with this object is closed. But still, I serialize my object and on the next step deserialize it, invoke some setters, and again, I need to update what changed in a database. What methods of Hibernate session should I use? persist() or save() on the first step and saveOrUpdate() on the second? In fact I see that saveOrUpdate() can be used on each step. What would you recommend?

Which data structure for List of objects + datagrid wiev

Hi, I have to develop a code which will store a list of objects, as example below 101, value 11, value 12, value 13 ...etc 102, value 21, value 22, value 23 ...etc 103, value 31, value 32, value 33 ...etc 104, value 41, value 42, value 43 ...etc Now, the difficulty is, that first column is an identifier, and whole table should always be sorted by it. Easy access to each element is required. Additionally, list should be easily updated, and extended by adding element at the end as well as in front and still keep being sorted by first column. Finally, I would like to be able to display values of the above in datagridview. What is most important is a performance of the implementation, as rows will be updated many times per second, and datagridview should be able to display all changes immediately. I was thinking about creating class for the values, and then a Dictionary but encountered a problem with displaying values in gridview. What would be the most optimal way of implementing the code? This is my first experience with stackoverflow and I'm afraid my question asks of a lot for a first. I was looking at this thread: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2634159/javascrypt-in-the-adress-bar-is-this-malicious and as you will see SLaks has very kindly deobfuscated the javascript and left us with what appears as the Javascript behind the automatic facebook invite code. As I'm fairly new to javascript, I was wondering, what other components were needed to get this code to work? You of course have the functions there and they are called by the obfuscated javascript but how exactly? Would it be possible to replicate this on a page of my own using the information available or is there more to this script I am missing? I am willing to financially assist somebody who could compile a solution for me. Thank you in advance.

Check if there are any repeated elements in an array recursively

I have to find recursively if there is any repeated element in an integer array v. The method must have the following signature: boolean hasRepeatedElements(int[] v) I can't see any way of doing that recursively without having to define another method or at least another overload to this method (one that takes for example the element to go after or something). At first I thought about checking for the current v if there is some element equal to the first element, then creating a new array with L-1 elements etc but that seems rather inefficient. Is it the only way? Am I missing here something?

[C++] Wrong EOF when unzipping binary file

Hello there, I tried to unzip a binary file to a membuf from a zip archive using Lucian Wischik's Zip Utils: http://www.wischik.com/lu/programmer/zip_utils.html http://www.codeproject.com/KB/files/zip_utils.aspx FindZipItem(hz, filename.c_str(), true, &j, &ze); char *content = new char[ze.unc_size]; UnzipItem(hz, j, content, ze.unc_size); delete[] content; But it didn't unzip the file correctly. It stopped at the first 0x00 of the file. For example when I unzip an MP3 file, it will only unzip the first 4 bytes: 0x49443303 (ID3\0) because the 5th to 8th byte is 0x00000000. I also tried to capture the ZR_RESULT, and it always return ZR_OK (which means completed without errors). Hi all, I have used the following statements to get the current time. print "$query executed successfully at ",localtime; print "$query executed successfully at ",(localtime); print "$query executed successfully at ".(localtime); Output executed successfully at 355516731103960 executed successfully at 355516731103960 executed successfully at Wed Apr 7 16:55:35 2010 The first two statements are not printing the current time in a date format. Third statement only giving the correct output in a date format. My understanding is the first one is returning a value in scalar context,so it is returning numbers. Then in the second print I used localtime in list context only,why it's also giving number output.

php mail function cannot send to [email protected] ??i

I'm having trouble when sending emails thorough the mail() function. I have a script that works perfectly fine for an email address like [email protected] but when the first part of the email is something with a dot like [email protected] it doesn't work and returns this error : Warning: mail() [function.mail ]: SMTP server response: 554 : Recipient address rejected: Relay access denied in confirmed.php on line 119 I am using real email address but have changed it in the above example. Any thoughts - I'm not a php master but surely there is an easy way to send emails to address with a 2 part first section?? Thanks in advance Ali

I don't understand why the first print is ok.

ant - trying to copy to /lib/endorsed, library is not available in windows 7 to the next task

On Windows 7 I have an ant target that copies a xalan library into the jdk endorsed directory so that the next xslt transformation task can occur. The first time that the ant target runs, the xslt transformation fails. The second time it runs the jar file is already in the correct place and the xslt tranformation succeeds. The first time that the ant target runs, it looks like the file copied successfully. It feels like a timing issue, but I don't know what I can do to get around it. How to deploy a Java Swing application with an embedded JavaDB database?

I have implemented an Java Swing application that uses an embedded JavaDB database. The database need to be stored somewhere and the database tables need to be created at the first run. What is the preferred way to do these procedures? Should I always create the database in the local directory, and first check if the database file exist, and if it doesn't exist let the user create the tables (or at least show a message that the tables will be created). Or should I let the user choose a path? but then I have to save the path somewhere. Should I save the path with Preferences.systemRoot();, and check if that variable is set on startup? If the user choses a path and save it in the Preferences, can I get any problems with user permissions? or should it be safe wherever the user store the database? Or how do I handle this? Any other suggestions for this procedure?

It's made up of Nodes: class Node { Node next; // some user data } and each Node points to the next node, except for the last Node, which has null for next. Say there is a possibility that the list can contain a loop - i.e. the final Node, instead of having a null, has a reference to one of the nodes in the list which came before it. What's the best way of writing boolean hasLoop(Node first) which would return true if the given Node is the first of a list with a loop, and false otherwise? How could you write so that it takes a constant amount of space and a reasonable amount of time? However, if I do this: char serveradd[20]; strcpy(serveradd, argv[1]); int port = atoi(argv[2]); char versionnum[1]; strcpy(versionnum, argv[3]); printf("%s %d %s \n", serveradd, port, versionnum);` The first argument (serveradd) does not print out to the screen and is not being stored... How to skip extra lines before the header of a tab delimited delimited file in R

The software I am using produces log files with a variable number of lines of summary information followed by lots of tab delimited data. I am trying to write a function that will read the data from these log files into a data frame ignoring the summary information. The summary information never contains a tab, so the following function works: read.parameters <- function(file.name, ...){ lines <- scan("tmp.log", what="character", sep="\n") first.line <- min(grep("\\t", lines)) return(read.delim(file.name, skip=first.line-1, ...)) } However, these logfiles are quite big, and so reading the file twice is very slow. Surely there is a better way?
