• jQuery JSON encode set of input values

  I need tp serialize a group of input elements but I can't for the life of me figure out this simple task. I can successfully iterate through the targeted inputs using: $("#tr_Features :input").each(function() { ... } Here's my code, that doesn't work: var features = new Array(); $("#tr_Features :input").each(function() { features += {$(this).attr("name"): $(this).val()}; } Serializing the entire form won't give me what I need. The form has much more than this subset of inputs. This seems like it should be a pretty straightforward task but apparently programming late into a Friday afternoon isn't a good thing. • Why does BeginReceiveFrom never time out?

  I am writing an asynchronous Ping using Raw Sockets in F#, to enable parallel requests using as few threads as possible ("System.Net.NetworkInformation.Ping" appears to use one thread per request, but have not tested this... also am interested in using F# async workflows). The synchronous version below correctly times out when the target host does not exist/respond, but the asynchronous version hangs. Both work when the host does respond... Any ideas? • How to create a HTML5 + SVG document using the PHP XSLTProcessor

  For a little project about XML I try to use HTML5 as it has SVG and WAI-ARIA Support. I also want to use a XSL stylesheet for my document. But I can't get a valid HTML5 document with a nested SVG. Here are some version I tested so far: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"> <xsl:output indent="yes" method="xml"/> <xsl:template match="/"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> // content with the svg tag in the body </html> </xsl:template> </xsl:stylesheet> In combination with header('Content-Type: application/xml'); it works and produces this HTML output: <?xml version="1.0"?> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> // content with the svg tag in the body </html> But it is not HTML5 and without a DOCTYPE I get a lot of errors on the W3 validator. Using header('Content-Type: image/xhtml+svg'); or header('Content-Type: text/html'); there is no XML parsing error, but the page will not show the SVG as a graph but as text (without the tags). Can anyone tell me how to avoid the meta tag to be inserted or how to set a propper Content-Type that will make the browser rendern the SVG. Or even any other hint to get this working. I would really like to keep HTML5 to be able to keep the WAI-ARIA Landmark Roles an the HTML5 tags like NAV and FOOTER.

• Twitter Bootstrap modal spans, side-by-side divs and "control-group"?

  I'm trying my best to have a good looking modal login form but for some reasons it seems that no matter how I nest divs, I cannot obtain the proper shape. What I need is a big "lock" image side-by-side with a username/password form. The best I could do adds a horizontal scroller by the modal bottom and shows the input gadgets fairly distant from the image partly hidden on the right side of the modal canvas. Inspecting with FireBug it seems that the spans in row-fluid are ok but the "control-label" and "controls" class adds way too much space on the left by width (for the labels) and margin-left (for the controls). How would you solve it? Am I doing something wrong with divs and classes nesting? • Error using Session in IIS7

  After deployment of my website to IIS I'm getting a following error message when trying to access session: Session state can only be used when enableSessionState is set to true, either in a configuration file or in the Page directive. Please also make sure that System.Web.SessionStateModule or a custom session state module is included in the \\ section in the application configuration. I access it in Page_Load or PreRender events (I tried both versions). With VS Dev Server it works without a problem. I tried both InProc an SessionState storage, 1 and multiple woker processes. I added a enableSessionState = "true" to my webpage explicitly. • How to deploy a visual studio custom tool?

  Hello. I have a my own custom tool for Visual Studio 2008 SP1. It consists of 5 assemblies: 3 assemblies with code that used heavily in my other projects, 1 assembly-wrapper above VS2008 SDK and assembly with the tool. If I'd debug my tool from visual studio, using "Run external program" option with command line "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE\devenv.exe" and arguments "/ranu /rootsuffix Exp" all work perfectly. After that I trying to deploy it to my working VS copy, not to experimental hive doing: gacutil /i Asm1.dll for all my assemblies and doing RegAsm Asm1.dll only for assembly with custom tool. Neither of utils prints any error, all work as planned, even registry keys appeared. But my tool don't work even after PC restart. What did I do wrong? However, when I unmarshall the actual XML data into the generated classes the data in the wrapper class is not populated - yet JAXB does not throw an exception. My question is: Do I need to change the schema a different way to make this work? Or is there something I can add/change/delete to the generated code or annotations?   I'm trying to use a multidimensional array in VHDL and I'm having a lot of trouble getting it to work properly. My issue is that I've got an array of 17, of 16 vectors, of a given size. What I want to do is create 17 registers that are array of 16 * std_logic_vector of 32 bits (which = my b, 512). So, I'm trying to pass in something to input and output on the register instantiation that tells the compiler/synthesizer that I want to pass in something that is 512 bits worth... Similar to in C if I had: int var[COLS][ROWS][ELEMENTS]; memcpy(&var[3].. // I'm talking about 3rd COL here, passing in memory that is ROWS*ELEMENTS long (My actual declaration is here:) type partial_pipeline_registers_type is array (0 to 16, 0 to 15) of std_logic_vector(iw - 1 downto 0); signal h_blk_pipelined_input : partial_pipeline_registers_type; I tried simply using h_blk_pipelined_input(0) .. up to (16) but this doesn't work. I get the following error, which makes me see that I need to double index in to the array: ERROR:HDLParsers:821 - (at the register) Wrong index type for h_blk_pipelined_input. So then I tried what's below, and I get this error: ERROR:HDLParsers:164 - (at the register code). parse error, unexpected TO, expecting COMMA or CLOSEPAR instantiate_h_pipelined_reg : regn generic map ( N=> b, init => bzeros ) port map ( clk => clk , rst => '0', en => '1', input => h_blk_pipelined_input((i - 1), 0 to 15), output=> h_blk_pipelined_input((i), 0 to 15)); -- Changing 0 to 15 to (0 to 15) has no effect... I'm using XST, and from their documentation (http://www.xilinx.com/itp/xilinx6/books/data/docs/xst/xst0067_9.html), the above should have worked: ...declaration: subtype MATRIX15 is array(4 downto 0, 2 downto 0) of STD_LOGIC_VECTOR (7 downto 0); A multi-dimensional array signal or variable can be completely used: Just a slice of one row can be specified: MATRIX15 (4,4 downto 1) <= TAB_B (3 downto 0); One alternative is that I can create more registers that are 16 times smaller, and instead of trying to do all '0 to 15' at once, I would just do that 15 additional times. However, I think this may lead to inefficiency in synthesis and I don't feel like this is the right solution. I'm able to do everything I was able to do before, using ()() syntax instead of ( , ) so I haven't lost anything going this way, but it still doesn't resolve my problem.

  Hello, I have a list of radio buttons that are inside a DIV called "radio-btns-wrapper-wjs", this DIV slides down/up when you click on a 'trigger' element, in my case a < span with the class "selected-search-wjs". The DIV "radio-btns-wrapper-wjs" slides back up when the user selects one of the radio buttons. This DIV also slides back up when the user does not take any action (does not select a radio button) but has already moved his mouse over "radio-btns-wrapper-wjs" DIV and then moves it out. So far, so good. What I need is to have the same DIV, "radio-btns-wrapper-wjs", slide back up when the user moves his mouse out from the < span "selected-search-wjs" element but NOT if the user moves his mouse over the DIV "radio-btns-wrapper-wjs". The thing is that is that if do this: $('.selected-search-wjs').mouseleave(function() { $('.radio-btns-wrapper-wjs').slideUp(); }); The DIV with the radio buttons, "radio-btns-wrapper-wjs", slides back up as soon as I leave that DIV to select a radio button. I need a condition that says something like: "Hide the DIV "radio-btns-wrapper-wjs" if the user hovers over you and then hovers out. Also, hide this same DIV if the user moves his mouse away from the < span "selected-search-wjs", but NOT if he moves his mouse over the DIV "radio-btns-wrapper-wjs"." Does all this make sense?   I have been experiencing some very strange behavior using html buttons with the onserverclick attribute. What I am trying to do is use jQuery to designate the default button on the page. By default button I mean the button that is "clicked" when a user hits enter. In testing, I would hit enter while in an input field and sometimes the intended "default" button was clicked and the server side method defined in the corresponding onserverclick attribute was hit. Other times a post back was made without hitting the server method. In Firefox 3.6 and IE 8 when only one input exists on the page, hitting enter does not trigger the onserverclick, it makes a post back without even being jQuery "clicked" or actually "clicked". You can test this by starting with two inputs and clicking "test2". This will output "server method2 was hit". Then just hit enter and the output will be "server method1 was hit. Now take away an input and run the same test. Click "test2" see the results, then hit enter and you will see that nothing will change because the "test1" method was never hit.   After deployment of my website to IIS I'm getting a following error message when trying to access session: Session state can only be used when enableSessionState is set to true, either in a configuration file or in the Page directive. Please also make sure that System.Web.SessionStateModule or a custom session state module is included in the \\ section in the application configuration. I access it in Page_Load or PreRender events (I tried both versions). With VS Dev Server it works without a problem. I tried both InProc an SessionState storage, 1 and multiple woker processes. I added a enableSessionState = "true" to my webpage explicitly.   Hi, we have an old, big asp.net application with nhibernate, which we are extending and upgrading some parts of it. NHibernate that was used was pretty old ( 1.0.2.0), so we decided to upgrade to ( 2.1.2) for the new features. HBM files are generated through custom template with MyGeneration. Everything went quite smoothly, except for one thing. Lets say we have to objects Blog and Post. Blog can have many posts, so Post will have many-to-one relationship. Due to the way that this application operates, relationship is done not through primary keys, but through Blog.Reference column. As i understand, in old version, for nhibernate it was enough to have Blog.Reference field, and it could retrieve entity by that field, and attach it to PostEntity, and when saving PostEntity, everything would work correctly. And as i understand, new NHibernate tries only to retrieve by Blog.Id. How to solve this? I cannot change DB design, nor can i assign an Id to BlogEntity, as objects are out of my control (they come prefilled as generic "ojbects" like this from external source)

• Explicit method tables in C# instead of OO - good? bad?

  Hi! I hope the title doesn't sound too subjective; I absolutely do not mean to start a debate on OO in general. I'd merely like to discuss the basic pros and cons for different ways of solving the following sort of problem. Let's take this minimal example: you want to express an abstract datatype T with functions that may take T as input, output, or both: f1 : Takes a T, returns an int f2 : Takes a string, returns a T f3 : Takes a T and a double, returns another T I'd like to avoid downcasting and any other dynamic typing. I'd also like to avoid mutation whenever possible. 1: Abstract-class-based attempt abstract class T { abstract int f1(); // We can't have abstract constructors, so the best we can do, as I see it, is: abstract void f2(string s); // The convention would be that you'd replace calls to the original f2 by invocation of the nullary constructor of the implementing type, followed by invocation of f2. f2 would need to have side-effects to be of any use. // f3 is a problem too: abstract T f3(double d); // This doesn't express that the return value is of the *same* type as the object whose method is invoked; it just expresses that the return value is *some* T. } 2: Parametric polymorphism and an auxilliary class (all implementing classes of TImpl will be singleton classes): abstract class TImpl<T> { abstract int f1(T t); abstract T f2(string s); abstract T f3(T t, double d); } We no longer express that some concrete type actually implements our original spec -- an implementation is simply a type Foo for which we happen to have an instance of TImpl. This doesn't seem to be a problem: If you want a function that works on arbitrary implementations, you just do something like: // Say we want to return a Bar given an arbitrary implementation of our abstract type Bar bar<T>(TImpl<T> ti, T t); At this point, one might as well skip inheritance and singletons altogether and use a 3 First-class function table class /* or struct, even */ TDictT<T> { readonly Func<T,int> f1; readonly Func<string,T> f2; readonly Func<T,double,T> f3; TDict( ... ) { this.f1 = f1; this.f2 = f2; this.f3 = f3; } } Bar bar<T>(TDict<T> td; T t); Though I don't see much practical difference between #2 and #3. One question is whether there are any performance concerns with it. I don't usually need dynamic dispatch, and I'd prefer if these function bodies get statically inlined in places where the concrete implementing type is known statically. Is #2 better in that regard?
