  • Why does ssh hang after "debug1: loaded 3 keys"

    Trying to log in to an Amazon EC2 instance running Ubuntu 10.04.1. I can log in just fine, no issues. A different user, coming from a different network just gets this: OpenSSH_4.3p2, OpenSSL 0.9.8e-fips-rhel5 01 Jul 2008 debug1: Reading configuration data /etc/ssh/ssh_config debug1: Applying options for * debug1: Connecting to xxxx [xxxx] port 80. debug1: Connection established. debug1: identity file /.ssh/identity type -1 debug1: identity file /.ssh/id_rsa type -1 debug1: identity file /.ssh/id_dsa type -1 debug1: loaded 3 keys And then it hangs. We've tried running sshd on port 22 and port 80 I'm guessing that it's not a firewall problem since the verbose output reports that the connection is established. I don't see anything in /var/log/auth.log when the failing user connects. I do see entries when I log in successfully.

After applying the latest round of updates (including Root Certificates for April 2012 KB931125 (See:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/933430/)), EAP authentication is failing due to being malformed. Sample error (Security/Event ID 6273), truncated for brevity: Authentication Details: Proxy Policy Name: Use Windows authentication for all users Network Policy Name: Wireless Access Authentication Provider: Windows Authentication Server: nps-host.corp.contoso.com Authentication Type: PEAP EAP Type: - Account Session Identifier: - Reason Code: 266 Reason: The message received was unexpected or badly formatted. The NPS policy (Wireless Access) is configured accordingly (for Constraints/Authentication methods) EAP Types: Microsoft: Protected EAP (PEAP) - with a valid certificate from ADCS Microsoft: Secured password (EAP-MSCHAP v2) Less secure authentication methods: Microsoft Encrypted Authentication version 2 (MS-CHAP-v2) User can change password after it has expired Microsoft Encrypted Authentication (MS-CHAP) User can change password after it has expired We've tested a different RADIUS server without the aforementioned patch, and removed EAP as an authentication type and experienced success.     Every few seconds our new Cisco ASA 5505 firewall is logging errors that I can't figure out with my limited Cisco experience. Severity Date Time Syslog ID Source IP Destination IP Description 3 Mar 25 2010 17:21:14 305006 8.8.8.8 regular translation creation failed for icmp src inside:10.10.0.200 dst outside:8.8.8.8 (type 3, code 3) 3 Mar 25 2010 17:18:37 305006 8.8.4.4 regular translation creation failed for icmp src inside:10.10.0.200 dst outside:8.8.4.4 (type 3, code 3) The logged inside IP is our internal DNS resolver, and the outside IP's are Google's public DNS servers. ICMP Type 3 Code 3 means "Port Unreachable" Our "outside" interface has a fixed IP and our "inside" interface is in the 10.10.0.0/16 subnet. The 'Inspect DNS' Service Policy is enabled, with the preset DNS inspection map. Furthermore there's an ACL that allows all inbound ICMP on the "outside" interface. I've spent hours trying to figure this one out, so any and all advice is welcome!

  • MS Office 2013 and Asian languages

    I've got a Win7 computer with Office 2013 installed. System language is German. When switching input language to Thai I can type in the system dialog boxes (like start buttno app finder), but can't type in MS Word (pressing the keys on the keyboard does nothing on the screen, the cursor doesn't move). The weirdest thing here is: if I use numeric keypad and type any number after that the keyboard starts working in Word for a few characters. Japanese and Nepal input languages work fine. Does anyone know any way to troubleshoot? Thank you!

  • Setup LAN to serve webpages and voip and access to the web site from inside LAN with domain name

    I'd like to know if it will work: I have my domain and I´m serving a webpage in a nginx to the internet, but if I type my domain in my laptop inside LAN I access to my modem/router configuration, I cannot access to the web server unless I type the IP address. I would like to add a Bind server after the modem/router - (port forward, ports 80 and 5060), if the request is www.mydomain.com bind should resolve the nginx IP address and serve it, and if it is a voip request should address to the voip server and if I'd like to access to the website from inside LAN I'd like to type mydomain.com. Could I do it with this configuration? Do I need something else? Thanks in advace!

    Often I am creating pivot tables that summarize some count by some category. Let's say I am counting Yes/No responses by some category. I usually add the count field and display it as a "% of row", and then create a pivot chart. However, if I want to sort one of the columns, say "Yes", Excel sorts by the underlying count, not the calculated percentage. Any way around this?

  • Dreamweaver not loading due to workspace file problem

    I went to launch Dreamweaver CS 5.5 and this message popped up: XML parsing fatal error: Invalid document structure, line 1, file C:\Documents...(file path)...Workspace\My Workspace.xml It was followed by The following panel layout is missing or could not be read: C:...My Workspace.xml The application will not have a correct layout. Please load one from WindowsWorkspace After that, Dreamweaver acted as if it was going to load, but never did. When I tried to close the program, it crashed. I followed the file path and I saw two files: My Workspace.xml 0kb and My Workspace 5kb. The second one has an unknown file type. I deleted the first file and renamed the unknown file type to My Workspace.xml; everything worked fine after that point. Why did Dreamweaver do this? This has happened several times, but I have not changed anything that should affect that file type.

The first release of Sikuli contains Sikuli Script, a visual scripting API for Jython, and Sikuli IDE, an integrated development environment for writing visual scripts with screenshots easily. Sikuli Script automates anything you see on the screen without internal API's support. You can programmatically control a web page, a desktop application running on Windows/Linux/Mac OS X, or even an iphone application running in an emulator. As this looks very promising, perhaps complementary to AutoHotKey I'm curious what scripts you guys will come up with. Especially since this program is portable and could solve "simple" Super User problems.   • Windows XP: GNU find.exe moved my files and now they're lost

    I used a series of GNU find.exe commands to move media files to the current folder. Explorer show that the folders and files still exist in their original location but properties show zero size and files. I performed a chkdisk and that didnt help. Any ideas how to recover these files?   • Redirect URL using Mac OS X Server Lion

    I have just set up a Mac Mini with OS X Lion Server to host my own website. I have registered multiple domain names, but I would like the user to be automatically redirected to my main domain name if they type in one of the others (i.e. if the user types in www.myotherdomain.com the URL will be forwarded instantly to www.mymaindomain.com). In the Web settings of Server.app, you can easily add additional domains (which works) but it does not change the URL in the browser to www.mymaindomain.com. It keeps www.myotherdomain.com whilst still displaying the correct pages. Does the redirects or alias options do what I want? I can't seem to work out how to use them (there seems to be no documentation that I can find). In Redirects, you need to enter: 'Redirect Type' (Exact Match or Regular Expression) 'Redirect Path' 'Destination URL' 'Redirect Status' (Original was permanently moved, etc) In Alias, you need to enter: 'Alias Type' (Exact Match or Regular Expression) 'Alias Path' 'Destination Folder' Any help would be great.

As none of the "remote" has a "*" in front (worst it had a blank space in front), does it mean no time sync source is selected? The offset just keep increasing.   • ubuntu automount: only mounting drives as root?

    I'm sharing the /mount dir with smb so users on my network can access use drives added to my linux box. Users are able to read files but not write, modify or delete files or directories. I'm using ubuntu 10.04 server edition with halevt installed for usb auto mounting. Afaik halevt is automounting the drives to /media/ but the drives are showing up as: drwxrwxr-x 1 root root 20480 2010-12-29 20:40 disk drwxrwxr-x 1 root root 24576 2010-12-21 17:20 Sparta mount gives me: /dev/sda1 on /boot type ext2 (rw) /dev/sdb1 on /media/disk type fuseblk (rw,nosuid,nodev,sync,allow_other,blksize=4096,default_permissions) /dev/sdc1 on /media/Sparta type fuseblk (rw,nosuid,nodev,sync,allow_other,blksize=4096,default_permissions) When I umount the drives, the folders /media/disk and /media/Sparta are both removed. I tried changing the permissions with chown to nobody:nogroup but it doesn't work (which I assume is because they are ntfs drives).

    Everytime I type some text, it is overwriting what I have typed. I assume that the mode is set to overwriting, I want to insert the text not overwrite it, but I can't disable it because my insert key is mixed up with my delete key so everytime I enter insert to disable the overwrite mode, it just delete what I type. So how to disable this? I'm using centOS.. and it seems that my problem is only related to Netbeans because when I type here, it is set to insert mode.. but in Netbeans, it just overwrites the codes! help!

  • Running 'sudo' over SSH

    I'm writing a script which is to log onto a bunch of remote machines and run a command on them. I've set up keys so the user running the script does not have to type the password of each machine, but only type in the passphrase in the beginning of the script. The problem is that the command on the remote machines requires sudo to run. And at the same time the whole point of the script is to rid the user of having to type in passwords multiple times. Is there way to avoid typing in the password for sudo? Changing permissions of the command on the remote machines is not an option.

  • GlusterFs - high load 90-107% CPU

    I try and try and try to performance and fix problem with gluster, i try all. I served on gluster webpages, php files, images etc. I have problem after update from 3.3.0 to 3.3.1. I try 3.4 when i think maybe fix it but still the same problem. I temporarily have 1 brick, but before upgrade will be fine. Config: Volume Name: ... Type: Replicate Volume ID: ... Status: Started Number of Bricks: 0 x 2 = 1 Transport-type: tcp Bricks: Brick1: ...:/... Options Reconfigured: cluster.stripe-block-size: 128KB performance.cache-max-file-size: 100MB performance.flush-behind: on performance.io-thread-count: 16 performance.cache-size: 256MB auth.allow: ... performance.cache-refresh-timeout: 5 performance.write-behind-window-size: 1024MB I use fuse, hmm "Maybe the high load is due to the unavailable brick" i think about it, but i cant find information on how to safely change type of volume. Maybe u know how?

  • Linux not picking up new partition correctly on emc pseudo device

    Hi We have a database server running oracle rac. We were recently running out of space on the main LUN that it is attached to. I created a new 100GB LUN and concatenated this onto the existing LUN creating a new MetaLUN. After some messing I managed to get linux to recognise the new space. I then created a new partition in on the pseudo device, to use the new space. Previously when I have done this on other system the next step is to create an ASM disk on the new partition and add this disk to the oracle disk group. This however fails. I am aware of various issues with ASM and powerpath, but I don't think this is the issue here. As on while investigating the issue I discovered that one of the underlying logical device is not reflecting the size change.     My knowledge on the topic is rather limited, but does one have Kernel access/the general ability to change programs at run time whilst running Wine? For Clarification: Can the user of the computer access any information they want via the Kernel on the underlying system running Wine, or does normal Windows security still apply?
