  • Help with Python structure in *nixes.

    I came from a Windows background whern it comes to development environments. I'm used to run .exe's from everything I need to run and just forget. I usually code in php, javascript, css, html and python. Now, I have to use Linux at my work, in a non changeable Ubuntu 8.04, with permissions to upgrade my system using company's repositories only. I need to install Python 2.4.3 to start coding in an old legacy system. I had Python 2.5. I downloaded Python 2.4.3 tarballs, ran ./configure make and such. Everything worked out, but now the "default" installation is my system is Python2.4 instead of of Python2.5. I want help from you to change it back, and if possible, some material to read about symlinks, multiple Python installations, virtualenvs and such: everything I need to know before installing/upgrading Python modules. I installed for example the ElementTree package and don't even know in which Python installation it was installed. Thanks in advance!

  • Eclipse Java EE - Galileo - Unable to view plugins

    I am new to Eclipse so I am having a hard time troubleshooting this problem. I have a new installation of Eclipse Java EE - Galileo on Windows, and I am unable to see any changes made in the IDE after installing plugins. I have verified that the plugins are installed via installation details, but see no changes made. For example, after installing the maven integration plugin m2eclipse I go to File-New-Project ... and I have no option for maven. After installing the QuickRex plugin I have no view for it etc. I have tried re-installing the plugins, re-installing Eclipse, and starting Eclipse with the -clean option, but nothing has resolved the issue. Any ideas? Thanks!

    I downloaded: Microsoft® Visual Studio® 2010 and Team Foundation Server® 2010 Beta 2 for Microsoft® Virtual PC 2007 SP1 Image When I go into the default installation of TFS project site in Sharepoint ( http://vs2010beta2/sites/DefaultCollection/IBuySpy/Dashboards/ProjectDashboard_wss.aspx ) I get this error on the webparts. There are no accessible team projects in this Team Project Collection. Contact your Team Foundation Server administrator. In the Team Server Admin Console - Team Project Collection - Team Projects tab the projects are there. This is the default installation. Any suggestions???

    Well i did a wordpress installation with the newer version now avaialble at dere website.. i did my installation at a subdomain : foo.abc.com the problem came with the permalink which do not work dere bec of the htaccess file. Can any one suggest me how to do that, i need to have only the category/postname Till now i am able to do foo.abc.com/index.php/category/postname - i dont want index.php in it.     What are the known Pros/Cons of using windows active setup for deployment? Does Microsoft recommend/support using active set up? If your are interested, here is the context: I'm working on outlook 2003 VSTO addin.The installer for this addin creates few registry entries either in HKCU or HKLM depending on "Single User" Or "All User" installation. We are planning not to use "All User" installation since the addins installed for all users does not show up in COM AddIns list in outlook.The alternate approach is to use active set to install for single user.

    Hi All, I am trying to automate installation of an application using Pywinauto.During the installation the last window shows some warning or error messages in few cases and later the system begins to restart.My objective is to capture the the Warning messages which is possible by app.top_window_()._ctrl_identifiers() np.Notepad.Edit.TypeKeys(a,with_spaces=True, with_tabs=True, with_newlines=True) This is returning a list which contains all the messages of the screen.     Hi, I am new to glassfish server. i have a question on glassfish usage: can I just use glassfish like a tomcat server without needing an installation? where in, I just take a folder containing glassfish folders, jars etc... dump it in a folder location setup a few environment variables and it runs.. just like tomcat? is it possible with glassfish? also does glassfish installation does any other background things like creating registry entries etc other than creating the glassfish folder structure?   • ClickOnce deployment with VS2008 - prerequisites not installing on Windows 7 (only)

    I have a VS2008 clickonce application with a custom prerequiste, which I install with the bootstrapper. When deployed online, the prerequisite is downloaded and installed fine. No problems. When deployed via CD to a Windows XP machine, also fine as above. No problems. However, when deployed via CD to a Windows 7 machine: the prerequisite is downloaded - good then the user is asked for permission to the run the file - good then the installation of the prerequiste is just SKIPPED - bad and the ClickOnce application installation begins without the prerequisite - bad Has anyone encountered this weird behaviour? I cannot find a solution anywhere.

    Hi I know this is something simple I am doing wrong. I have three tables, installation, neighborhood, schools Installation: has_many :schools has_many :neighborhoods Neighborhood: has_many :installations has_many :schools Schools: belongs_to :installations belongs_to :neighborhoods I can't figure out how to show the name of the neighborhood the school is located in on the index view. I can get it to show on the show view once I have the school id. But on the index view I can't figure out what to put in the controller that will allow me to access the neighborhood name from the neighborhood_id that is in the School model. I am sure this is so easy and I am screwing up something stupid. HELP!

I want to do 2 things: install clamav virus scanner http://sourceforge.net/projects/php-clamav/ on my remote server which is a linux apache setup using cpanel as a gui. install clamav on my localserver on my home computer which operates on windows and has WAMP server installed for server-side activity What is the difference between the two installation methods?   • Can I add an existing 2008 build server to new TFS 2010 server ?

    My scenario is this: I am currently testing out a new Team Foundation Server 2010 installation; which we will be moving to shortly. Upgrading builds to work with TFS 2010 and the new MSBuild seems like a lot of work (it does not work out-of-the-box, at least). So what I would like to do, is to repurpose our old TFS Server to be a build server for TFS 2010. It already has build services installed. I cannot figure out how to add an existing TFS 2008 Build Server to my new TFS 2010 installation, so I can use the old server to run old builds. Is this possible ? How can I do it ?

    Yesterday I stumbled over the information that Crystal Reports will no longer be included in Visual Studio 2010. Instead – it will be provided as a free download, but with a separate installation and a separate release date. According to the linked information the release of CR will be later than that of VS. My projects depend in parts on CR and I want to shift early to VS 2010. So there are some related questions: Can I use VS 2010 with the older 2008 version of CR? Do I need a workstation with a preinstalled VS 2008 or is the installation of the CR redistribution package sufficient to run that? Are there any experiences with the VS Beta concerning that?

    i am considering the migration for 3 reasons: 1) SQLSERVER installation is a nightmar, expecially for 1-user software. Software installs in 10 seconds, SQLServer in 1 hour. Firebird installation is much easier. 2) SQLSERVER runs on windows server only 3) My customers have all the express edition 4) i am not using any advanced feature, I am now starting using filestream, but the main reason for this is that Express eidtion has 4/10GB db size limit So these are all Pros of moving to Firebird. Which are the cons? I can also plan to support both platiforms, but this will backfire I fear.

  • Running JBoss 4.2.3 and JBoss 5.1 on the same server

    I want to run JBoss 4.2.3 and JBoss 5.1 on the same server, but not simultaneously. I just need to be able to switch back and forth between the two for testing, so I don't need to change ports or anything like that. My problem is the JBOSS_HOME environment variable. When I set up a /soft/JBoss-4.2.3.GA directory and a /soft/JBoss-5.1.0.GA directory I can run the respective bin run.sh commands, however, both try to use the $JBOSS_HOME and $PATH environment variables which are set to the first installation (JBoss-4.2.3). So, how can I set separate environment variables? Or tell my new JBoss 5.1 installation to use another environment variable for JBOSS_HOME? How would I go about getting these two running together? We have verified the python installation on IIS6 and it is working property. We have also verified the Django installation. Our application runs fine under the built-in Django server, but we are having difficulties getting it to run under IIS. We presume we could be getting errors from "Linking Django to PyISAPIe" section of the instructions provided on the link above. Thank.

    Hi everyone, Im trying to make my own debian distribution but I have a problem. simple-cdd works fine but when I try to install my generated .iso, everything goes right since a message apears: " No installable kernel was found in the defined APT sources You may try to continue without a kernel. and manually install your kernel later. This is only recommended for experts, otheriwse you will likely end with a machine that dosent boot. COntinue Without installing a kernel? " And if y say yes, it continues... When is time to install grub it says: " Installation step failed An installation step failed. You can try to run the failing item again from the menu, or skip it and choose something else. The failing step is: Install the GRUB boot loader on a hard disk " HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Lucene search on specific field name?

    I have been playing around with an installation of SOLR that indexes some data from my database. I am able to index data and query it back but I was wondering about how field name queries work. For certain fields I am able to specify their name and the search text to have the results return as expected and for other fields, when I specify their name and search text, no results are returned. q=type:book //(this will work) q=type:book AND title:"The Title" //(no results returned) In this example, type is a required field and title is not. For the example where I search by title, I can see the document in the results of the first query having the given title so I know that a document exists that matches this search. Is making a field 'required' the only way to be able to search by field name? [edit] I'm using the default installation and the 'example' folder inside of solr, editing the xml files and using the interface available through start.jar to be able to run, index and query.

  • Drupal: FileFields... internal server error

    hi, I've moved my drupal installation to new server and the website works. HOwever I get an "internal server error" for each file field in my nodes. In other words, images and videos are not loaded. In Firebug, Net Tab I can see they cannot be retrieved from the server because of "internal server error". The only thing I changed with respect to the previous installation is commenting the following 2 lines in .htaccess # Don't show directory listings for URLs which map to a directory. #Options -Indexes # Follow symbolic links in this directory. #Options +FollowSymLinks Is this the issue ? How can I solve this ? thanks
