  • printing stl containers with gdb 7.0

    I have installed GDB 7.0 and python per the following instructions. In the same manual, there is a mention of this file stl-views-1.0.3.gdb. What confuses me, is where should it be placed in order to enable pretty printing of stl containers. Would someone also explain to me all of this work? Thanks

  • git filter-branch chmod

    I accidental had my umask set incorrectly for the past few months and somehow didn't notice. One of my git repositories has many files marked as executable that should be just 644. This repo has one main master branch, and about 4 private feature branches (that I keep rebased on top of the master). I've corrected the files in my master branch by running find -type f -exec chmod 644 {} \; and committing the changes. I then rebased my feature branches onto master. The problem is there are newly created files in the feature branches that are only in that branch, so they weren't corrected by my massive chmod commit. I didn't want to create a new commit for each feature branch that does the same thing as the commit I made on master. So I decided it would be best to go back through to each commit where a file was made and set the permissions. This is what I tried: git filter-branch -f --tree-filter 'chmod 644 `git show --diff-filter=ACR --pretty="format:" --name-only $GIT_COMMIT`; git add .' master.. It looked like this worked, but upon further inspection I noticed that the every commit after a commit containing a new file with the proper permissions of 644 would actually revert the change with something like: diff --git a b old mode 100644 new mode 100755 I can't for the life of me figure out why this is happening. I think I must be mis-understanding how git filter-branch works. My Solution I've managed to fix my problem using this command: git filter-branch -f --tree-filter 'FILES="$FILES "`git show --diff-filter=ACMR --pretty="format:" --name-only $GIT_COMMIT`; chmod 644 $FILES; true' development.. I keep adding onto the FILES variable to ensure that in each commit any file created at some point has the proper mode. However, I'm still not sure I really understand why git tracks the file mode for each commit. I had though that since I had fixed the mode of the file when it was first created that it would stay that mode unless one of my other commits explicit changed it to something else. That did not appear to the be the case. The reason I thought that this would work is from my understanding of rebase. If I go back to HEAD~5 and change a line of code, that change is propagated through, it doesn't just get changed back in HEAD~4.

    I have big trouble with file uploads with php. My own tests are successful but my colleague is telling me that he cannot update "larger" (ca. 5mb) files. Phpinfo says: - max_execution_time 30 - memory_limit 32 Mb - post_max_size 8 Mb - upload_max_filesize 10 Mb Is it better to use FTP? The problem is that I cannot change these settings at my webhoster.

  • Ubuntu 12.04/12.10 can't detect windows or any other partitions(Asus z77 UEFI BIOS)

    I've recently completed tinkering my new pc(motherboard ASUS z77 with UEFI BIOS) and unfortunately not everything works quite well. After installing windows 7 ultimate on a single primary partition(SATA drive) I decided to allocate one more logical partition for additional needs. When I tried doing it with the manager - it said that it couldn't allocate requested size even though I certainly asked for much less than it was available. I thought that it might have been a windows issue and proceded to installing Ubuntu 12.10 x64. When the graphical interface loaded it showed me a message stating that it can't find any other operating system on the drive. When I used custom partioning option it showed me none of my current partions(including that with windows). However, when I boot with "Try Ubuntu" feature it does find them ! I find it weird though.     I read a lot, also here, but couldn't find a simple way to do it: In objective c - I have a big UIImage and a small UIImageView. I want to programmatically shrink the content of a UIImage just enough to fit the smaller dimension within the UIImageView. The larger dimension will be cropped, and the result will be the maximum I can get from an image without changing the proportion. can you please help me?

  • How To Replace @Resource Annotation with Java 1.4 Compliant Version

  • safari and gzip

    I'm loading jQuery from google on my site (http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.3/jquery.min.js) which is minned and gzip'd. In firefox, the jquery file shows as a 19k request, but Safari shows it as a 56k request. I'm assuming then that Safari is not accepting it as a gzip'd file. What's the deal? It's coming from google and I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be gzip'd

  • Is there a repo where you can download android virtual devices?

    Does anyone know, if vendors provide or if there is a site where one could download AVD profiles for existing android devices on the market so you can run your apps in the emulator and basically see how they will run on said devices? But I would like to add a per class debugging: Set a macro to the desired level of debug, have a macro or a function that knows the level of debug, and use qDebug() or qWarning() which is class independant, and will know the current class's name (for some pretty prints) Anyone have a good idea to implement this ?

  • Why is giving a fixed width to a label an accepted behavior?

    There are a lot of questions about formatting forms so that labels align, and almost all the answers which suggest a pure CSS solution (as opposed to using a table) provide a fixed width to the label element. But isn't this mixing content and presentation? In order to choose the right width you basically have to see how big your longest label is and try a pixel width value until "it fits". This means that if you change your labels you also have to change your CSS.
