• Display NSWindow as Subview of NSView...

  I have an NSWindow that I want to display as part of another window. It has to be an NSWindow; I don't want to change it to an NSView or anything... I just don't because it involves accessing foreign nib files and the such. How should I accomplish this if possible? I was thinking along the lines of grabbing the view of the NSWindow and sticking it as the subview of another view in my main window... but I don't think this is possible. Is it?

  It is said, javascript clears a variable from memory after its being referenced last. just for the sake of this question i created a JS file with only one variable; //file start //variable defined var a=["Hello"] //refenence to that variable alert(a[0]); // //file end no further reference to that variable, so i expect javascript to clear varaible 'a' Now i just ran this page and then opened firebug and ran this code alert(a[0]); Now this alerts the value of variable, If the statement "Javascript clears a variable after there is no further reference it" is true how come alert() shows its value. Is it because all variable defined in global context become properties of window object, and since even after the execution file window objects exist so does it properties.

But when i remove the all provisional and the app file from the iphone and pick the app file and provisional and install it via itunes through a window system it shows me the code sign error even when i sync the iphone through the itunes it get install the provisional in the iphone but unable to install the app file. Is there any proper way via which i can install it on window or any other OS without any fail or any tutorial .. Thanks

  I have a question regarding about any smartphones that run only in Android 2.3.3. Is the size of screen or the screen resolution is always HVGA or does it have capable of running this OS (Android 2.3.3) on big screen size (4" to 5") at about 720x1280? I'm thinking of the game's compatibility depending on the version of the Android OS and the screen resolution, which affects the change of coordinates especially for assigning touch buttons and drag-n-drop at exact location, before I'm gonna decide to make one. My program works on the Android 4 ICS and Jellybean, however, will that work on Android 2.3.3 in spite of precise touch coordinate or just dependent on the screen resolution (regardless how large it is) as the X and Y coordinate? And take note, I'm using Eclipse IDE for Java developers.

  Hi there, I am having a problem with the AddressBook framework. It all seems to be stemming from ABCopyRecordForUniqueId returning a record with old data. Example: I run up the program below in one terminal window - it shows the current data. I make a change through the address book UI - my program continues to show old data. I run up another instance of the same program in a new terminal window - it shows the updated data. • Can not get to login screen, background starts with terminal prompt only

  my uncle has Ubuntu on his work PC. Basically I came in to work today, and he had lost his UNITY side bar. I told him start with just rebooting it. He rebooted it... now it does not even get to the login screen. It gets to the background with the word UBUNTU, and the 6 or 7 dots, does it's little loading dot thing... then stops, and a black terminal opens on the top left with the background still in place. Personally, I think he screwed it up himself. He always swears he didn't touch anything, but I know better... Either way, I can't get him back into the desktop to even see if the sidebar is back. He's always screwing around pressing the wrong buttons on the login screen, hitting admin things and such... Any ideas?

What should happens: 1) Click once on icon with mouse left button then Balloon with some text should appears 2) Double click on icon will show again app window On Windows 7 MouseDoubleClick is also fired but window is not showing. I don't know why.   Hi, I have an NSWindowController and I initialize it like this; + (MyWindowController *) sharedController { static MyWindowController *singleton = nil; if (!singleton) singleton = [[self alloc] initWithWindowNibName: @"myWindow"]; return singleton; } and I show windows like this; [[MyWindowController sharedController] showWindow: nil]; Now the problem is that I need information from some controls on that window. But I do not want to load the window if it's not yet loaded because then I can just go with the defaults. Should I use @property to access the singleton? or what is recommended here? (If @property, then please give me the readonly, nonatomic attributes too.)

  I recently bought a Razer blackwidow ultimate 2013 keyboard. The keyboad contains 5 macro keys and according to the manual, they can be quickly set using the key combination fn+f9. However, this doesn't work; it won't record any macros. All the other function buttons on the keyboard work fine (e.g. volume up, volume down, stand-by) Does anyone know how I can enable those keys? Maybe an extra package. I am using 64 bit ubuntu 12.04 Thanks in advance :)

• 12.04 64 bit: Keybord not responding for about 20 seconds at startup/beginning of session

  I am running Ubuntu 12.04 64bit. When I get at the login screen and try to type the password for my user, I cannot type anything for about 20 seconds. After that, the keyboard starts responding and everything works fine. Mouse is responding normally as well as all buttons of the login interface (time/calendar, session selection (Unity/Unity 2D), etc.). What could be the reason for this behavior? How can I solve this temporary freeze of the keyboard so that I can type my password immediately without having to wait each time? Thanks for your time. EDIT: I tried auto login, but the problem is still there: the Desktop loads but even there, if I try to type something in the dash or anywhere else, I must wait about 20 seconds before I can actually start typing. Can the issue be related to some keyboard modules that get loaded little bit "too late"?

  I am trying to write a macro which calls cscope-find-functions-calling-this-function on each and every tag in a file displayed in the *Tags List* buffer (created by list-tags command). This should create a buffer which contains list of all functions calling a set of functions defined in a certain file. This is the sequence of keystrokes: 1. <f11> ;; cscope-find-functions-calling-this-function 2. RET ;; newline [shows results of cscope in a split window] 3. C-x C-p ;; mark-page 4. C-x C-x ;; icicle-exchange-point-and-mark 5. <up> ;; previous-line 6. <end> ;; end-of-line [region to copy has been marked] 7. <f7> ;; append-results-to-buffer 8. C-x ESC O ;; [move back to split window on the right] 9. C-x b ;; icicle-buffer [Switch back to *Tags List* buffer] 10. *Tags ;; self-insert-command * 5 11. SPC ;; self-insert-command 12. RET ;; newline 14 . <down> ;; next-line [Position point on next tag in the list] Problem: I get no results in the buffer, and I found out that's because Step 3-7 execute even before cscope prints the results of query made on Steps 1-2. I can insert a pause in the macro by using C-x q, but I'd rather like the macro to wait after Step 2, until cscope has returned with the results and only then continue further. I suspect this is not possible through a macro, maybe a LISP function... I'm not a lisp expert myself. Can someone please help? Thanks! F11 is bound to cscope-find-functions-calling-this-function windmove is installed and C-x (C-x ESC o - as shown below) takes you to the right window.   Everytime I change the OS I usually format my laptop. It is an HP tx-2 Touchsmart. It has a touchscreen and additional hardware that isn't working (i.e. volume control buttons and the network discovery) If I was on windows I would just download the hardware drivers from the HP website. How do I go about installing the software for the built-in hardware of my laptop? • Unity displays a black screen when connecting an external monitor

  I upgraded my ubuntu from 10.10 to 11.04 and since that day I have been facing issues with Dual Monitor in Ubuntu. When I connect my second monitor during boot time, everything works fine. But when I use my laptop and try to connect a monitor when I am running Ubuntu, I face a weird black screen issue. To see what I mean, following is a screenshot of the same. Here are the problems that happen Desktop background goes away As you can see on the left hand side of the desktop, the right and top portions are black The usual buttons - power button, mail, volumne etc., on the top panel do not work as expected Plus it suddenly crashses at times. And a lot of n other issues associated with this. Is there any patch/release that has happened for these bugs or should I report it anywhere? Help needed.

• Emacs/xterm color annoyance on Linux

  I'm using emacs in a console window both on my local Linux box and on the login node of a remote cluster. I use emacs regularly, and I've got the foreground color set to white in my .emacs file like so: (set-foreground-color "white") (set-background-color "black") However, when I run emacs, the foreground isn't white; it's grey and very hard to read. On my Mac, emacs in a console window with the same settings shows up as proper white. But on both linux boxes, in konsole and xterm, it's grey. In case it matters, I've got TERM set to xterm-color, the desktop is running RHEL 5, and the cluster node is running RHEL 4 (CentOS). Is this some default with how Linux sets up terminal colors? How do I get white to be white? Note: this is with console emacs, not emacs under X. That's emacs -nw if you have DISPLAY set.

  In Visual Studio 2010 Pro (Version 10.0.30319.1 RTMRel), I noticed tonight that for some reason I kept getting a wider window for quick find, but thought I was losing my mind. So I exited, restarted, etc to verify. Here's my repro steps Open existing project (I don't think it matters which one) Press ctrlf and give it something to search for (?) in "current document" Press enter Press ctrlf Press enter goto 4 Can you reproduce a slowly expanding quick find window? Do I have some sort of wacky bugged out system? I'ld obviously like to submit a bug report to MS if this is indeed a viable repro.

• XCode File Browsing doesn't open files!

  Previously when I browsed source code files using Xcode's file browser (located on left side), clicking on a source file would open it in the right window. I must've accidentally changed some setting that stops this behavior -- now single clicking on any file doesn't do anything at all. I'd really like it to go back to the old behavior of opening the file. Any ideas? This behavior is driving me crazy. To open a source file I have to double-click and open in a separate window.

• Stuck on Ubuntu startup screen (5 orange bullets)

  I recently download Ubuntu 12.04 LTS onto my Macbook Pro 5-5. Everything worked seamlessly, save for the brightness control. I couldn't change the screen brightness from the hardware buttons, nor from the system preferences. To fix it, I used the instructions here: MacbookPro 5-5 LCD Brightness Control At #2, I restarted my laptop, only to see that it went straight to the Ubuntu Startup Screen, with the 5 orange dots (Usually they all startoff white, then turn orange to indicate progress).
