What is the best way to display a large chunk of text (taken from a .txt file in the app) in a UIScrollView so a user can scroll about it? Length of the text is variable.
I wonder if it is possible to embed dynamic text into Keynote'09? I want to create a new presentation and run this presentation with different text messages (depending on the time of the day and day of the month).
I'm looking for a SimpleGrepSedPerlOrPythonOneLiner that outputs all quotations in a text.
Example 1:
echo “HAL,” noted Frank, “said that everything was going extremely well.” | SimpleGrepSedPerlOrPythonOneLiner
stdout:
"HAL,"
"said that everything was going extremely well.”
Example 2:
cat MicrosoftWindowsXPEula.txt | SimpleGrepSedPerlOrPythonOneLiner
stdout:
"EULA"
"Software"
"Workstation Computer"
"Device"
"DRM"
etc.
(link to the corresponding text).
Some of the titles of view controllers in my UINavigationController are quite long, which makes the back button in the navigation bar of the next view controller in the hierarchy miss out some of the text, with a "..." instead.
How could I make the text of the back button wrap onto two lines, as with "Now Playing" in the navigation bar of iPod.app?
Thanks!
// Make text white... and background blue
[myButton setTitleColor:[UIColor whiteColor] forState:UIControlStateNormal];
[myButton setBackgroundColor:[UIColor blueColor]];
Should that make a button with white text... and a blue background?
It doesn't.
I want to change the Text of the browse button in the FileUpload Control (System.Web.UI.WebControls), instead of the [Browse...] text I want to use [...]
Without using jQuery, what is the best way to limit text entry of a textbox to numbers, lowercase letters and a given set of symbols (for example - and _)? If the user enters an uppercase letter, I would like it to be automatically converted to a lowercase letter, and if the user enters a symbol not within the given set, I would like to be able to instantly show a validation error (show some element adjacent to or below the text box).
What's the cleanest cross-browser way of doing this without the aid of jQuery?
How do I output coloured text from by unit tests in the Unit Test Session window in Visual Studio. I am using Resharper VS addin which I think produces the Unit Test Window.
I am using this with nunit and wish to use c# Console.Write to generate coloured text to this window.
I have a string "User name (sales)" and I want to extract the text between the brackets, how would I do this? I suspect substring but I can't work out how to read until the closing bracket, the length of text will vary.
Hi,
On the twitter home page (not logged in), there a scrolling text in the middle below the logo. How is this accomplished? It stops scrolling when mouseover and also has a popup dialog on relevant text.
Thanks,
Mike
I have a UITableView, which I am controlling from a custom UIViewController. When the user clicks the 'add' button, I add a row to the UITableView with a text field in it, and make it the first responder. The problem is, when the bottom of the table is out of view (or hidden by the keyboard), the UITableView doesn't scroll to bring the text field into view.
UITableViewController does this automatically, but my View Controller can't be a subclass of UITableViewController.
How hard is it to do? I have a text with about 600 characters, multiple lines. Now I want to copy that text to the clipboard using the UIPasteboard classes. What would I need to implement?
For example,
<a href="../somepage/page.aspx?qs=asdf">Text Here</a>
will print out as...
Text Here(../somepage/page.aspx?qs=asdf)
In IE, it looks normal (doesn't print the url). Any ideas why this is acting in this fashion?
Hi,
I am looking for a regular expression for matching that contains no white space in between text but it may or may not have white space at start or end of text.
Hi,
I noticed that in MySQL, both VARCHAR and TEXT offer variable-sized data. Well, VARCHAR is a bit more efficient in data storage, but still, TEXT MEDIUMTEXT and LONGTEXT offer a lot more potential. So, what are the real uses of VARCHAR?
Hi
Anybody know how to programmatically generate MP3 files with bookmarks that can be used in iTunes / iPod / iPhone / iPod touch? Specifically text bookmarks (bookmarks with titles) that the listener can skip to a specific point in time in the audio file. Also how to add the text transcription of the podcast's content.
Even better if you have an example Cocoa code or library to write the MP3 file.
Thanks.
Is it possible to change the behavior of the yui text editor so that when you make markup changes (via the toolbar bar buttons), for example changing from a paragraph to say a heading or to a list, and you dont have any text selected it assumes you mean the current block that the cursor is in
So to change a paragraph to a heading rather than selecting the whole line you just place the cursor somewhere in the paragraph and select heading from the styles drop down.
I have a user control with the following code in it.
[System.ComponentModel.Category("Appearance")]
public override string Text { ... }
private int myVar;
[System.ComponentModel.Category("Appearance")]
public int MyProperty { ... }
MyProperty shows up in the property grid when the control is inserted in a form, but Text does not. How can I get it visible?

I have 3 spans inside a div.
text-align:center isn't working (tried on the parent too)
text-align: -moz-center neither (on ff2)
i have to use spans
no floats
-moz-inline-box or -moz-inline-stack ?
with -moz-inline-block it's working but the 2nd and 3rd spans clear left…
Anyone got an idea? (fixing #6 is an alternative)
I've used emacs for decades and always wondered, but kept on coding, if there was a way to type in something, them move the cursor and insert the same text, like the VI . command.
Instead what I do is to type the text, set the mark, backup, copy the region, go to the next spot (often just C-n, down one line) and then pre-arg yank, C-u C-y.
It's the overhead of set mark, backup and copy region that makes me just go ahead and retype the thing.
How do I convert all varchar(max) columns to text type? I know varchar(max) is recommended but I still want to use type text because CakePHP doesn't automagically convert varchar(max) to textarea (HTML form). How do I do it? Thanks in advance
I have a Rails app (blog) that I am creating. Very basic stuff. In my content area I have a text area for the content of the post. I am needing to include some html in the text area (links, formating, etc).
<%= f.text_area :content %>
Is there another tag that I can use instead of text_area, that will allow me to do this?
I have a lot of text data and want to translate it to different languages.
Possible ways I know:
Google Translate API
Bing Translate API
The problem is that all these services have limitations on text length, number of calls etc. which makes them inconveniente in use.
What services / ways you could advice to use in this case?
