What's the best practice for linking to/from guest posts on other blogs?

When writing a guest blog for a site, I include a link back to my site - an inbound link. If I were to write a post on my blog publicising my guest post, that would mean there were reciprocal links, thus cancelling each other out, correct? If I made the link (on my blog) back to the guest post nofollow, would that cancel the effect, meaning I still get link juice from the guest post? Further down the line if the site I posted on as a guest wanted to write a post for my site, what is the best way for me to prevent re-introducing the reciprocal link problem?

Conversion of BizTalk Projects to Use the New WCF-SAP Adaptor

We are in the process of upgrading our BizTalk Environment from BizTalk 2006 R2 to BizTalk 2010. The SAP adaptor in BizTalk 2010 is an all new and more powerful WCF-SAP adaptor. When my colleagues tested out the new adaptor they discovered that the format of the data extracted from SAP was not identical to the old adaptor. This is not a big deal if the structure of the messages from SAP is simple. In this case we were receiving the delivery and invoice iDocs. Both these structures are complex especially the delivery document. Over the past few years I have tweaked the delivery mapping to remove bugs from original mapping. The idea of redoing these maps did not appeal and due to the current work load was not even an option. I opted for a rather crude alternative of pulling in the iDoc in the new typed format and then adding a static map at the start of the orchestration to convert the data to the old schema. Note WCF-SAP data formats (on the binding tab of the configuration dialog box is the ‘RecieiveIdocFormat’ field): Typed: Returns a XML document with the hierarchy represented in XML and all fields being represented by XML tags. RFC: Returns an XML document with the hierarchy represented in XML but the iDoc lines in flat file format. String: This returns the iDoc in a format that is closest to the original flat file format but is still wrapped with some top level XML tags. The files also contained some strange characters at the end of each line. I started with the invoice document and it was quite straight forward to add the mapping but this is where my problems started. The orchestrations for these documents are dynamic and so require the identity of the partner to be able to correctly configure the orchestration. The partner identity is in the EDI_DC40 segment of the iDoc. In the old project the RECPRN node of the segment was promoted. The code to set a variable to the partner ID was now failing. After lot of head scratching I discovered the problem was due to the addition of Namespaces to the fields in the EDI_DC40 segment. To overcome this I needed to use an xPath query with a Namespace Manager. This had to be done in custom code. I now tried to repeat the process with the delivery document. Unfortunately when we tried to get sample typed data from SAP an exception was thrown. The adapter "WCF-SAP" raised an error message. Details "Microsoft.ServiceModel.Channels.Common.XmlReaderGenerationException: The segment or group definition E2EDKA1001 was not found in the IDoc metadata. The UniqueId of the IDoc type is: IDOCTYP/3/DESADV01/ZASNEXT1/640. For Receive operations, the SAP adapter does not support unreleased segments. Our guess is that when the WCF-SAP adaptor tries to down load the data it retrieves a data schema from SAP. For some reason the schema does not match the data. This may be due to the version of SAP we are running or due to a customization. Either way resolving this problem did not look easy. When doing some research on this problem I found an article showing me how to get the data from SAP using the WCF-SAP adaptor without any XML tags. http://blogs.msdn.com/b/adapters/archive/2007/10/05/receiving-idocs-getting-the-raw-idoc-data.aspx Reproduction of Mustansir blog: Since the WCF based SAP Adapter is ... well, WCF based, all data flowing in and out of the adapter is encapsulated within a SOAP message. Which means there are those pesky xml tags all over the place. If you want to receive an Idoc from SAP, you can receive it in "Typed" format (in which case each column in each segment of the idoc appears within its own xml tag), or you can receive it in "String" format (in which case there are just 2 xml tags at the top, the raw xml data in string/flat file format, and the 2 closing xml tags). In "String" format, an incoming idoc (for ORDERS05, containing 5 data records) would look like: <ReceiveIdoc ><idocData>EDI_DC40 8000000000001064985620 E2EDK01005 800000000000106498500000100000001 E2EDK14 8000000000001064985000002000000020111000 E2EDK14 8000000000001064985000003000000020081000 E2EDK14 80000000000010649850000040000000200710 E2EDK14 80000000000010649850000050000000200600</idocData></ReceiveIdoc> (I have trimmed part of the control record so that it fits cleanly here on one line). Now, you're only interested in the IDOC data, and don't care much for the XML tags. It isn't that difficult to write your own pipeline component, or even some logic in the orchestration to remove the tags, right? Well, you don't need to write any extra code at all - the WCF Adapter can help you here! During the configuration of your one-way Receive Location using WCF-Custom, navigate to the Messages tab. Under the section "Inbound BizTalk Messge Body", select the "Path" radio button, and: (a) Enter the body path expression as: /*[local-name()='ReceiveIdoc']/*[local-name()='idocData'] (b) Choose "String" for the Node Encoding. What we've done is, used an XPATH to pull out the value of the "idocData" node from the XML. Your Receive Location will now emit text containing only the idoc data. You can at this point, for example, put the Flat File Pipeline component to convert the flat text into a different xml format based on some other schema you already have, and receive your version of the xml formatted message in your orchestration. This was potentially a much easier solution than adding the static maps to the orchestrations and overcame the issue with ‘Typed’ delivery documents. Not quite so fast… Note: When I followed Mustansir’s blog the characters at the end of each line disappeared. After configuring the adaptor and passing the iDoc data into the original flat file receive pipelines I was receiving exceptions. There was a failure executing the receive pipeline: "PAPINETPipelines.DeliveryFlatFileReceive, CustomerIntegration2.PAPINET.Pipelines, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=4ca3635fbf092bbb" Source: "Pipeline " Receive Port: "recSAP_Delivery" URI: "D:\CustomerIntegration2\SAP\Delivery\*.xml" Reason: An error occurred when parsing the incoming document: "Unexpected data found while looking for: 'Z2EDPZ7' The current definition being parsed is E2EDP07GRP. The stream offset where the error occured is 8859. The line number where the error occured is 23. The column where the error occured is 0.". Although the new flat file looked the same as the old one there was a differences. In the original file all lines in the document were exactly 1064 character long. In the new file all lines were truncated to the last alphanumeric character. The final piece of the puzzle was to add a custom pipeline component to pad all the lines to 1064 characters. This component was added to the decode node of the custom delivery and invoice flat file disassembler pipelines. How do I correctly Re-render a Recaptcha in ASP.NET MVC 2 after an AJAX POST

Ok... I've downloaded and implemented this Recaptcha implementation for MVC which uses the ModelState to confirm the validity of the captcha control. It works brilliantly... except when I start to use it in an AJAX Form. In a nutshell, when a div is re-rendered with AJAX, the ReCaptcha that it should contain does not appear, even though the relevant <scripts> are in the source after the partial render. As you can see from the HTML snippet above, I've tried to add an OnComplete= javascript function to re-create the Captcha on the client side, but although the script executes with no errors, it doesn't work. Why doesn't my form post when I disable the submit button to prevent double clicking?

Like every other web developer on the planet, I have an issue with users double clicking the submit button on my forms. My understanding is that the conventional way to handle this issue, is to disable the button immediately after the first click, however when I do this, it doesn't post. I did do some research on this, god knows there's enough information, but other questions like Disable button on form submission, disabling the button appears to work. The original poster of Disable button after submit appears to have had the same problem as me, but there is no mention on how/if he resolved it. NHibernate: QueryOver<> help

Hi, I'm just starting out with NHibernate and I'm having trouble with running more complex queries. I have entities with a list of tags attached. The user will provide two lists of tags, include and exclude. I need to find all the entities that have all of the include tags, and exclude any entites that have any tag in the exclude list. Below is my first effort- which is clearly wrong as its listing all Display objects that have any of the include tags rather than all! But I have put the struts-taglib.jar in /WEB-INF/lib directory. Then where is the problem?

Tips on implementing a custom UITextView interface on the iPhone?

I am trying to implement a control to edit text that will display the text in multiple colors. None of the solutions I have attempted yet have been good enough. UITextView cannot accomplish this. All of the text must be the same color. Using CoreGraphics to draw the text does not allow the text to be selected. Using a UIWebView, DIV and PRE tags cannot be set to contentEditable on Mobile Safari. Currently playing with using an off-screen TEXTAREA and an on-screen DIV to show the rendered text. This works pretty well, except supporting all of these at the same time seems impossible: click-to-type, click-to-move-cursor, click-and-hold-select/copy/paste. Anyone have any tips on this predicament? I've been trying to find any preexisting library out there that will accomplish this in a good way, to no luck. I'm open to any ideas!

Force jQuery to accept XHTML string as XML?

So, as part of a baseline OpenID implementation in Javascript, I'm fetching a remote page source through AJAX, and looking for the <link rel="openid.server" href="http://www.example.com" /> tag in the head. I'm using the jQuery javascript library for the AJAX request, but am unable to parse out the link tags. Several other online sources talk about using the usual jQuery selectors to grab tags from XML/XHTML sources, but it seems jQuery can only get content from the body of an HTML document, not the head (which is where the link tags are; $(response).find('link') returns null). So, I'd either need to get jQuery to force this document into XML mode or otherwise get at the head tags. Is there a way to force jQuery to parse the response of an AJAX query as XML, when it's in reality XHTML? Or do I need to fall back to regular expressions to get the link tags out?

How to implement a Counter Cache in Rails?

I have a posts controller and a comments controller. Post has many comments, and comments belong to Post. The associate is set up with the counter_cache option turned on as such: #Inside post.rb has_many :comments #Inside comment.rb belongs_to :post, :counter_cache => true I have a comments_count column in my posts table that is defaulted to zero, as such: add_column :posts, :comments_count, :integer, :default => 0 In the create action of my comments controller, I have the following code: def create @posts = Post.find(params[:post_id]) @comment = @post.comments.build(params[:comment]) if @comment.save redirect_to root else render :action => 'new' end end My problem: when @comment.save is called, I get the following error: ArgumentError in CommentsController#create wrong number of arguments (2 for 0) Removing :counter_cache => true from comment.rb completely solves the problem, so I'm assuming that it is the cause of this vague error. What am I missing here? How can I save my comment and still have rails take care of my counter_cache for my post? Thanks!

I'm using Jekyll to create a new blog. It uses Liquid underneath. Jekyll defines certain "variables": site, content, page, post and paginator. These "variables" have several "members". For instance, post.date will return the date of a post, while post.url will return its url. My question is: can I access a variable's member using another variable as the member name? See the following example: {% if my_condition %} {% assign name = 'date' %} {% else %} {% assign name = 'url' %} {% endif %} I have a variable called name which is either 'date' or 'url'. How can I make the liquid equivalent of post[name] in ruby? The only way I've found is using a for loop to iterate over all the pairs (key-value) of post. Beware! It is quite horrible: {% for property in post %} {% if property[0] == name %} {{ property[1] }} {% endif %} {% endfor %} Argh! I hope there is a better way. Thanks.

Should I replace string patterns in asp.net mvc using a custom viewengine?

Have an ASP.NET MVC site that is localized. The localization functionality adds the two digit language ID to the URL, e.g. /es/Page. If no language Id is found in the URL, the site switches to the user's browser culture. All's good. However, the site's hyperlinks, a mixture of hard-coded href tags, actionlinks, etc., don't include the base language ID, so when clicking through the site the set culture is lost, and the site reverts to the user's browser culture. My (lazy) thought is to replace all href values, that don't point to an external site, with the localized URL (e.g. include the /es/). Otherwise, all site links will need to be updated to include the culture code. Is this just plain dumb? Or, reasonable, and should be done using a custom view engine, or some other approach?

Correct redirect after posting comment - django comments framework

I am using django comments framework for allowing users to comment on my site, but there is a problem with the url to which user is redirected after posting the comment. If I render my comment form as {% with comment.content_object.get_absolute_url as next %} {% render_comment_form for comment.content_object %} {% endwith %} Then the url to which it is redirected after the comment is posted is <comment.content_object.get_absolute_url/?c=<comment.id> For example I posted a comment on a post with url /post/256/a-new-post/ then the url to which I am redirected after posting the comment is /post/256/a-new-post/?c=99 where assume 99 is the id comment just posted. Instead what I want is something like this /post/256/a-new-post/#c99. Secondly when I do comment.get_absolute_url() I do not get the proper url instead I get a url like /comments/cr/58/14/#c99 and this link is broken. How can I get the correct url as mentioned in the documentation. Am i doing something wrong. Any help is appreciated.
