• How do you run a .bat file from PHP?

  Can anyone tell me how to execute a .bat file from a PHP script? I have tried - exec("C:[path to file]"); system("C:[path to file]"); nothing is working. Ive checked the PHP manuals and googled around but cant find a good answer. Anyone know where im going wrong? I'm running windows 2003 server and have successfully manually ran the .bat file and it does what i need it to, I just need to be able to launch it programatically. thanks

• How to backup a dev & QA folder website structure?

  A site I just became in charge of uses a really simple two folder structure to host the dev site and the QA site. The sites are hosted on the company servers so I just have the sites' folders mapped on my desktop. I would like to run some kind of backup scheme, but I am finding it hard to think of a way to do this effectively. The problem is that we aren't using any revision control software, and since the servers aren't controlled by me, I don't think I will be able to implement anything like that. Or could I? The entire site is static too, so no DB's or anything besides html, images, PDFs, etc.

  I guess I am out of ideas here. I am trying to consume a web service in java which has an ssl certificate. I createt a a keystore file in which I have added the certificate. The file lies in my project folder. I imported it using: System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStore", "folder\\keystore.jks"); System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStorePassword", "SECRET"); Apparently, the web service call checks the keystore because when giving a wrong path to the file the application throws an exception when invoking the WS, not when setting the system property. Anyway, when giving the correct path to the keystore file, I still get AxisFault faultCode: {http://xml.apache.org/axis/}HTTP faultSubcode: faultString: (401)Authorization Required Someone told me I had to trust the CA, before any of this would work. How do I do this?

  I was wondering if anyone has come across any articles detailing how to set up a basic game in C++ for use in Android / IPhone / Desktop applications. My thoughts just now are that I would like to make my game as a library and have a different project for each device which just interfaces with this library. You know the kind of thing, bootstrap the program, call some library initialize, load and run routines and occasionally pass some information to the library like input. I was hoping someone would have made a template for this kind of thing but I just had no luck finding one. It seems to me that it's the kind of thing you really only have to do once, so I was hoping someone would have done it for me already.

There are two methods for GET : @GET @Produces(MediaType.TEXT_XML) public String getXml(@PathParam("typeDocument") String typeDocument) to display XML file, and @GET @Produces(MediaType.TEXT_HTML) public String getHtml(@PathParam("typeDocument") String typeDocument) to display HTML. The person also described the process of creating such layer as defining a number of structs in a special way such that different languages which access the objects would have the same idea of what the data they access looks like.   My organization is building a new version of our ticketing site and is looking for the best way to build an online waiting room when the number of users in our purchase path exceeds a certain limit. The best version of this queue would let new users in after existing users have either completed their purchase or have exceeded a timeout limit after entering the path. I'm trying to get an idea of how this has been implemented by other organizations. Has anyone out there done something similar or have any experience with this? We have some ideas, but I'd like to get a sense of what solutions have been tried and what problems those solutions have run up against. Just to be complete, this site is being built in Ruby on Rails, though I'd love to hear about how people have solved this regardless of platform.

Second, is MCRYPT_RIJNDAEL_256 compatible with AES-128? Finally, how would I let another party decrypt a file I've encrypted? They would need to know which encryption was used and I am not sure what to tell them.

• Error installing pkgconfig via macports

  I installed Macports 1.8.2 from a DMG. That seemed to install fine. I ran sudo port selfupdate to make sure my ports tree was current. I then tried to install bindfs as I want to mount some directories in my OS X file system (like you can do with mount --bind in linux). pkgconfig and macfuse are two dependencies of bindfs.   So I have to preface that I'm not familiar with tomcat/catalina, but trying to troubleshoot this anyway. This installation was working a week ago ... did something get corrupted? How would I figure if it did ... what other information would be valuable here? Tomcat seems to be running and starting up fine ...
