• Application with two UITabBarControls

  Hello, I want to create an app, whith the following structure: UITabBarController ..UINavigationController ....UITabBarController So, in other words, I want to load first UITabbarController as my main ViewController, that appears on application start, in its' first tab there's a UINavigationController with a table, which shows another UITabBarController by pressing on a table cell. I started Tab Based application, set first tab to UINavigationController, and its ViewController to my TableViewController. I also created second UITabBarController in Interface Builder. Created a separate class for this controller. Everything works fine at start - my first UITabBarController is shown perfectly, but when I'm trying to push my second UITabBarController, using my UINavigationController, it looks like nothing is loaded from a .xib file - there are just an empty TabBar and NavigationBar pushed. Seems, that something is wrong with an architecture, but I can't figure out the problem. Thanks in advance and I'm sorry for my poor English. Please let me know if something is not clear, I'll try to rephrase it :).

• Session bug using facebook-connect-with-authlogic in Rails

  I'm trying to follow this article: http://ryanbigg.com/2010/03/testing-facebook, but I'm stuck. I think the problem is with my session, in that the current_usermethod comes up with nil for session[:facebook_session]. According to the original authlogic, it says to use the active_record_store for sessions: # config/environment.rb config.action_controller.session_store = :active_record_store # db/schema includes create_table "sessions", :force => true do |t| t.string "session_id", :null => false t.text "data" t.datetime "created_at" t.datetime "updated_at" end The article calls for the use of cookies. I'm confused; can I use cookies and the active record sessions? I'm also confused by the use of cattr_accessor :current_user from within the User model -- current_user still goes in the application controller, right? Please help.

However, all I get are the user inputs. The "semantic_fields_for :company" block outputs nothing at all... Am I missing something here, or is this perhaps a Rails 3 bug to do with Formtastic?

  Hi, I'm integrating Fullcalendar into my app. Consider a manager interface where he can select an employee and then view this employee's calendar. • Model Not Valid Even With No [Required] Attribute

  I have a model which is validating as False even though I have no validation rules attached to it what so ever. So this is my model; public class QuickQuote { public Enumerations.AUSTRALIA_STATES state { get; set; } public Enumerations.FAMILY_TYPE familyType { get; set; } public Enumerations.CoverLevel hospitalCover { get; set; } public Enumerations.CoverLevel extrasCover { get; set; } public Enumerations.YesNo pregnancy { get; set; } } And in my controller I have; [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)] public ActionResult Index(IndexFormViewModel fvm) { if (!ModelState.IsValid) return View(fvm); The problem is that unless I put a value into each field it's validating as false even though it shouldn't care. Can anyone see what the problem is here?

  I have an .xib file connected to a ViewController, which is init'ed as the root controller of an instance of UINavigationController in my appDelegate. In that view, I have a UISearchBar and a UITableView below it. When the view loads up, there's a navigationBar at the top, followed by a ~20 pixel gap, and then the UISearchBar, and the table beneath it: My problem is that when I enter the UISearchBar to type something, the navigation bar disappears (which is fine), but the search box is all screwy: I'm pretty new to this (a couple of weeks), so I'm not quite sure what's going on. Can anyone help me shed some light on this?

  Let's say I have a model like this: create_table :ninjas do |t| t.string name end And the Ninja class with an extra property: class Ninja < ActiveRecord::Base def honorific "#{name}san" end end And in my controller I just want to render it to XML: def show render :xml => Ninja.find(params[:id]) end The honorific part isn't rendered. That makes sense, since it's just a method, but is there a way of tricking it? I'm totally up for answers to the effect of, "You're doing this totally wrong." I'll just add that I really do want to calculate the honorific on the fly, and not, like, store it in the database or something.

  Hi, There is a couple of hours that I'm trying to set a tableView background image. My controller is a subclass of UITableViewController, and I simply wrote this lines of code in ViewDidLoad method. UIImage *image = [UIImage imageNamed:@"home-portrait-iphone.png"]; UIImageView *imageView = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:image]; self.tableView.backgroundView = imageView; Everything looks great on the simulator, I mean, I see my table and as background view, y can see the image. But when the app is running on the device (ipod touch), I get this error: Program received signal: “SIGABRT”. and the stack says: * -[UITableView setBackgroundView:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x812e00 Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: '** -[UITableView setBackgroundView:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x812e00' and the exception is thrown in the assignment, a mean this line: self.tableView.backgroundView = imageView; any ideas?   I’m using the Membership Provider and would like to display a list of all the users and their First Name, Last Name etc using the GetAllUsers function. I'm having trouble understanding how to implement this function in MVC. Has anyone implemented this in MVC or is there an easier way to list all the users in my application?   If I have the following pylons controller: def challange(self): response.status = '401 Unauthorized' return 'You are not logged in.' I would expect to see 'You are not logged in.' But I see : Unauthorized This server could not verify that you are authorized to access the document you requested. Either you supplied the wrong credentials (e.g., bad password), or your browser does not understand how to supply the credentials required. WSGI Server I have disabled the pylons error middleware. But the wsig server seems to be modifying the response. How do I stop this?

  hi, my host system is gentoo amd64, guest system is win 7 amd64. the guest system can work, except it does not have sound. i start kvm with -soundhw ac97, QEMU_AUDIO_DRV='alsa', and after i get into the guest system, i can see a 'Multimedia Audio Controller' in the device manager. but win7 cannot find the driver for it. i searched the network for a long time, and i cannot find a driver for intel ac97 for win7 amd64. i also tried -soundhw sb16, es1370, none of them work. please help me fix this.

I'm creating a gallery in CakePHP 1.2 that has a prev and next button and those should link to the previous and next item according to their ordering, not according to their id. In order to get this result I've included the 'order' parameter to the find function, and populated it with 'Item.order'=>'DESC'. Still the result is an id ordered list.   I'm bit vague about how to start using the shiro plugin, after reading few documents. I decided against Nimble, as it comes with few tables and UI plugins. I setup shiro plugin with wildcard realm, with my own tables. I may use permission based (rather tan role based) access control as it scales well. Now, the steps for it. assign the permission string to the subject, and save it in the db check the permission through isPermitted, hasPermission (or relevant tags in GSP). Now, 1. when to use the accesscontrol through filter? 2. is there a closure injected into the controller where I can define the permission for the actions in it? 3. How do I create a typical access control scenario like only the creator of (something, a post etc) can delete it? thanks a lot.. Babu.

  My program has 4 buttons and each button calls a different table view. That works fine, but my problem is, the view controller I'm using brings up a table view that covers up my navigation bar and my tab bar. I need to replace that coding with something that will bring up a table and not cover up my nav and tab bars. Here is the coding I'm using: -(IBAction)buttonNorthWest { NorthWestViewController *nwController = [[NorthWestViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"NorthWestView" bundle:nil]; self.nwViewController = nwController; [self.view insertSubview:nwViewController.view atIndex:0]; [self presentModalViewController:nwViewController animated:YES]; [nwController release]; } The [self presentModalViewController....] is the problem. • Ending a Rails 2 URL with an IP address causes routing error?

  I'm trying to construct URLs in the format http://servername/find/by/CRITERION/VALUE CRITERION is a finite set of strings, as is VALUE. Trouble is, VALUE needs to be an IP address in some situations, and it's causing me a routing error. Here's my route: map.find 'find/by/:criterion/:query', :controller => "find", :action => "by" And the error, from the Mongrel logs: Processing ApplicationController#index (for 127.0.0.1 at 2010-05-07 10:20:32) [GET] ActionController::RoutingError (No route matches "/find/by/ip/1.2.3.4" with {:method=>:get}): Rendering rescues/layout (not_found) If I visit /find/by/foo/bar or /find/by/foo/1234 I don't have problems. I suspect the problem might be Rails' inference of MIME types based on periods in the URL, but I don't really know how I can disable that. I've tried passing a :defaults = {:format = :html} to the route but that causes Mongrel to fail to start entirely. Any help appreciated!

• Spring 3 JSON with MVC

  Is there a way to build Spring Web calls that consume and produce application/json formatted requests and responses respectively? Maybe this isn't Spring MVC, I'm not sure. I'm looking for Spring libraries that behave in a similar fashion to Jersey/JSON. The best case would be if there was an annotation that I could add to the Controller classes that would turn them into JSON service calls. A tutorial showing how to build Spring Web Services with JSON would be great. EDIT: I'm looking for an annotation based approach (similar to Jersey). EDIT2: Like Jersey, I am looking for REST support (POST,GET,DELETE,PUT). EDIT3: Most preferably, this will be the pom.xml entries and some information on using the spring-js with jackson Spring native version of things.

• Edit and Continue does not Work in VS 2010 / ASP.Net MVC 2

  Although Enable Edit and Continue is checked on the Web tab of my ASP.Net MVC 2 project, I cannot in fact change the source code while running. For example, if I try to edit a controller while paused in the debugger, I cannot change the file (acts as if read only). I found a related post Edit and continue in ASP.NET web projects, however The answers seem to suggest I should be able to at least edit the code, then reload the page to see the result. I don't know what the distinction is between a Web Application and Web Site projects Any guidance is appreciated.
