  Hi I downloaded the plugin from http://github.com/techweenie/restful-authentication.git Then I run rails generate plugin authenticated user session This is the result I got: create vendor/plugins/authenticated create vendor/plugins/authenticated/MIT-LICENSE create vendor/plugins/authenticated/README create vendor/plugins/authenticated/Rakefile create vendor/plugins/authenticated/init.rb create vendor/plugins/authenticated/install.rb create vendor/plugins/authenticated/uninstall.rb create vendor/plugins/authenticated/lib create vendor/plugins/authenticated/lib/authenticated.rb invoke test_unit inside vendor/plugins/authenticated create test create test/authenticated_test.rb create test/test_helper.rb Then I tried to do rake db:migrate But I got error that says rake tasks in restful-authentication/tasks/auth.rake are deprecated. Use lib/tasks instead. I am new to rails, tried looking online but things seem to be outdated. Please help!

  Hi, I'm working on a online quiz client where we use a dedicated custom-made linux distro which contains only the quiz client software along with text editors and other utility software. When the user has started the quiz, I want to prevent him/her from minimizing the window/closing it/switching to the desktop or other windows. The quizzes can be attempted using only the mouse, so I need the keyboard to be completed disabled for the period of the quiz. How could I do this, using Qt or Mono?   Hi, I have an application that creates an SQLite database and saves information to it over the course of a day. At the end of the day i want to export this database to a web server. Could anyone point me in the right direction for this? Should I use httppost or put. I have researched this myself online but there seems to be so many different ways to explore. The server side does not exist yet either. I have access to an apache server so i am hoping to use that. Could anyone advise me the best/most simple way to do this? Thanks

• Programmatically adding a trusted cert in Java

  I use SSL to communicate between two components written in Java. I can't use a CA, so I have to self-sign everything. Unfortunately, this means that when I try to handshake, I get a SunCertPathBuilderException. I can create my own X509TrustManager that just trusts everything, but that sort of defeats the purpose of having a signed cert. I would like, when first making the connection, to prompt the user with "SSL handshake with invalid cert. Add cert to store?" or something so they could have it added for them to their certificate store, like web browsers do at sites with invalid certs. I can find plenty of examples online of adding a cert to the store through the commandline, but I can't figure out how to do it programmatically. Is there a way to do this?

I'm currently going over this for my 70-536 exam and I am covering all my bases so far. The threading chapter and online resources have been good to me on my second read through. Still though, the names used above mean absolutely nothing to me? I would really appreciate the meaning behind the word 'Asynchronous' and its relevance to Delegates, methods and events.   I found a function online for turning a url within a string into a clickable link.   I am trying to create a C# Winforms application that will automatically log me into a site and download data. Specifically, I want to have my application automatically log into my online banking site, log me in, and download my transaction history. I can do this manually by logging in through a web browser and downloading it. I am trying to automate this. I know I probably need to use HttpWebRequest and HttpWebResponse. Does anyone have an example of this or a framework of the steps I need to take to accomplish this? Keep in mind it will be secure site (https) and I will somehow have to collect session information and retain the session information for the duration of the session. Any thoughts?

  What is the difference between a rules engine and an expert system? Example1: Let's say that I have a program that determines the expiration date of a new driver's license. It takes inputs like visa expiration date, passport number, birthday, etc. It determines the expiration date of the driver's license from this input. It can even give an error if the input did not have enough valid identifications to allow a new driver's license. Example2: Let's say I am making an online version of the game Monopoly. I want the ability to change the rules of the game (say $400 for passing go or no one can buy properties until they land on the same property twice, etc). I have a module in the code to handle these rules. Are these both rules engines or are they expert systems? They both seem so similar. Is it just a synonym?

On User Scripts, logged in, I click my username, Script Management, my script's name, Admin, Edit Code Online, change the source code, click save, the link to the install page, install and the script is the changed version. How did you turn on Live Editing? While following Greasemonkey tutorials, this feature is not working... Are you going to use the "works on my computer" excuse? • SharePoint : https area in a public website

  I'm working on a public website that was built using SharePoint (WSS). We need to add an area in the site where people will be able to purchase items with their credit cards and obviously the area needs to be secured. The website is using Form Based Authentication and the users need to stay logged in when they are moved back and forth from the https zone. I know how to enable SSL for a new web application / site collection but this isn't really an option for me as the website is already online and we don't want the whole thing to be secured. I am comfortable with the development of the webparts involved (payment module, shopping cart, etc.) but I can't really figure out how to create only certain https pages when the site collection is created. Can you have features that deploy pages that are secured? If so, how? Can you have a zone where SSL is enabled but where the users are redirected to and from without losing their authentication (FBA)? Thanks!

• Skype Mac API - Use AppleScript or 5 year old API?

  I have a x86_64 app that I would like to have optionally read Skype status messages. However, the 5 year old skype mac framework is 32-bit, and if there is a way to have that compile within a 64-bit app, I haven't found it. My question is, basically, how should I go about doing this? I really only need to get and set the USERSTATUS AWAY/ONLINE string. Using AppleScript, a "Should Skype allow this" dialog pops up... every time. This is highly inefficient and downright irritating. Advice? I'm considering writing a 32-bit CLI wrapper, but that seems like overkill.

  I've seen the following (bizarre) Javascript rounding function in some legacy code. After googling for it I can see that it crops up in a number of places online. However I can't work out why the hard-coded values 8191 and 10485 are present. Does anyone know if there's any sensible reason why these values are included? (NOT JUST the events for which event listeners have been set, but to somehow step through a list of all VALID EVENTS for which event listeners may POTENTIALLY be set -- I realize that such lists are readily available online, and that's great for cases when I know the object's type at design type, but I require some way to inspect any given displayobject programmatically at runtime, and determine what events, if any, are or may be associated with it.)

• Error including image in Latex

  I am getting the following error while compiling my Latex File : ! LaTeX Error: Cannot determine size of graphic in tree.jpg (no BoundingBox). Why do I get this error ? What has this to do with an .eps file ? Infact, I could compile it fine with MacTex on my machine. But when I submit it online to a scientific journal for publication, it compiles it on the server and sends me the resultant PDF which as all these error that prevent it from compiling. I am using the following syntax for including the images : \begin{figure}[!h] \begin{center} \scalebox{0.45}{ \includegraphics{tree.jpg}} \end{center} \caption{\small A sample} \label{tree} \end{figure} What should I do ? Could it be that their server is using an old compiler ? UPDATE : It finally worked. I converted the first image to PDF and the compilation happened perfectly. I guess it used the bounding box value from that PDF and applied it to all images.

  Custom Web sites built on SharePoint are cropping up everywhere (just visit topsharepoint.com to see). With that said, my question pertains to creating a fully customized, branded site using SharePoint as the CMS as depicted by many of the topsharepoint.com sites. I understand the concept of creating the custom master master page(s) (SharePoint 2010 even includes a minimal.master to start). The problems I have are: What site template does one use? In 2007 the recommended front-facing Web site site collection template was the Publishing Portal. Is this still the case? What navigation do you use? Do you leverage the OOB navigation? If so, how do you style it extensively? How do you keep the on-page editing capabilities within the new site template? Are there any online tutorials are walk-throughs that address all of these issues? I have been searching, but it's really sparse out there.

I'm able to login and add Leads, Opportunities, Accounts and Contacts. But I'm unable to add a relation ship between my Account and Opportunity.   I have a VPS and I want to make mysql DB accept connection externally (from my PC for instance). I have Debian Linux installed on the server. I checked some tutorials online and they said to comment out: bind-address = 127.0.0.1 But this didn't seem to help! is there anything specific for VPSs? or Am I missing something else? • What are good educational resources for setting up .Net Webservice on a DMZ connecting to SQL Server

  We are going to begin implementing a web service that will be hosted on a DMZ server. This web server will post data to a SQL server and we're trying to determine the best methodology to handle this. Things that concern us are web service authentication, SOAP, and whether or not to store the database on the DMZ or the local network. This same scenario will apply to ASP.Net apps. Trust me, I've already searched the web, but as usual, the online resources I've found either talk about just authentication, or just about SOAP, or etc, but does not show or suggest how the entire system can work together. • Is frameworks really necessary for this problem?

  Hi Guys I'm creating an online music store application (in Java) for signed and unsigned artist for my client. I'm currently using Struts 1.3.10 (I was recommended Spring but Spring setup is sort of similar to Struts) for my Web application. My Database is currently a MySQL 5 (or higher) and I'm using a DAO pattern to talk to it. There are limitations to using Struts and DAO's (e.g. Multiple File upload in Struts is not implemented the same way as multiple String parameters, and for DAO's, there lacks a Publish-Subscribe feature). Is what I'm doing the best way forward or should I go straight Hibernate (or similar) and move out of Struts? What are the performance implications or technical issues that you've experienced with the same setup I have? The client doesn't care how I do it as long as it is done.

• Can I void all JavaScript calls to $

  I need some scripts inside an existing site's scripts.js. This site has been online for ages, and I can not touch the scripts file. I am including it standardly in another page. There are numerous jQuery calls in the scripts file. The place I include it does not have jQuery. I want to void all $() type things. I tried this... $ = function() { }; before I included scripts.js and it didn't seem to work. I am still getting errors like $(document) is undefined Is there a way to void all these jQuery calls? • is jQuery 1.4.2 compatible with Closure Compiler?

  According to the official release statement version 1.4 has been re-written to be compressed with Closure Compiler yet when I use the online version of closure compiler I get 130 warnings. This is the code I use. // ==ClosureCompiler== // @compilation_level ADVANCED_OPTIMIZATIONS // @output_file_name default.js // @code_url http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4.2/jquery.js // ==/ClosureCompiler== And as far as I know you get the real benefit of Closure Compiler if you include the library with your code also, so it removes the unused functions. Yet my testing show that I can't get any further than compressing the library itself.. What am I doing wrong? Any kind of insight will be much appreciated.
