    I have a visual studio integration package that tracks output from the debug window. I can get the IVsTextView of the output window, like so: IVsTextView view = GetService(typeof(SVsOutputWindow)) as IVsTextView; // grab text from the view and process it However, if a different panel other than the "Debug" panel is currently active, then this IVsTextView will have text from that panel, and not the "Debug" panel. Is it possible to get an IVsTextView for a specific output window panel, without calling OutputWindowPanel.Activate() prior to getting the IVsTextView of the output window?

    Hello guys. I'm having some troubles with SelectList in ASP.MVC. Here is the issue: I have a Create View and begind a ViewModel model. The page load just fine (GET verb). But when posting, something happens, and my model is considered invalid, and it cannot insert.   • iPhone App is leaking memory; Instruments and Clang cannot find the leak

    Hi, i've developed an iPhone program which is kind of an image manipulation program: The user get an UIImagePickerController and selects an image. Then the program does some heavy calculating in a new thread (for responsiveness of the application). The thread has, of course, its own autorelease pool. When calculation is done, the seperated thread signals the main thread that the result can be presented. The app creates a new view controller, pushes it onto the navigation controller. In short: UIImagePickerController new thread (autorelease pool) does some heavy calculation with image data signal to main thread that it's done main thread creates view controller and pushes it onto navigation controller view controller presents image result My program works well, but if I dismiss the navigation controller's top view controller by tapping on the back button and repeat the whole process several times, my app crashes. But only on the device! Instruments cannot find any leaks (except for some minor ones which I don't feel responsible for: thread creation, NSCFString; overall about 10 kB). Even Clang static analyzer tells me that my could seems to be all right. I know that the UIImage class can cache images and objects returned from convenience methods get freed only whet their autorelease pool gets drained. But most of the time I work with CGImageRef and I use UIImage' alloc, init & release methods to free memory as soon as possible. Currently, I don't know how to isolate the problem. How would you approach this problem?   • Is there a good way of displaying required field indicators when using DataAnnotations in MVC 2?

    I've got validation working with DataAnnotations on all my models, but I'd like to display an indicator for required fields on page load. Since I've got all my validation centralized, I'd rather not hard-code indicators in the View. Calling validation on load would show the validation summary. Has anyone found a good way of letting the model determine what's required, but checking it upon rendering the view, similar to Html.ValidationMessageFor?

  • DB time always showing as zero in Rails development log timings

    I've noticed that the Rails log correctly displays the time taken to execute an action in the logs, and that the View: part of that is also rendered correctly. However, the DB: value is always zero: Aug 11 13:00:22 [2326] INFO: Completed in 2072ms (View: 94, DB: 0) | 200 OK In fact, all my DB timings are being logged as zero. I'm logging at DEBUG level, in development mode, running Rails 2.3.2. Apologies in advance if the answer is blatantly obvious.

    In a view of my app I subclass tableViewController and has an activity indicator shown up when the table content is loading. I put it in the center of the screen but it scroll with the tableView (I guess the reason is I add it as a subview of the table view). Is there a way that I can keep the activity indicator in the center of the screen even the table is scrolling? Thanks in advanced.

    Hi all, I load a url over the web containing images (their source is another url). when then view loads the html, it loads it without the images. after few milliseconds, the images come along but then the html is redrawn, and it does so over the previous html, causing it the web view to hold 2 htmls one over the other (very ugly result). anyone knows why does that happen? how can I avoid that? thanks, Ori

The code uses a UIPickerView, but there's no reason to use a different view controller, like a UITableViewController that uses a table instead of a picker.   • Watchpoints w/xDebug in Eclipse PDT?

    Has anyone gotten watchpoints to work when debugging PHP with xDebug and Eclipse? The way I understand it, I'm supposed to be able to select a watched variable in the expressions view or select a variable in the Variables view during debugging, and then select Run-Toggle Watchpoint. But Toggle Watchpoint is constantly greyed out. All my other debugging functions work fine: breakpoints, step in, out, over, etc. Just can't get a watchpoint working.
