• Can't communicate between lan ports on openwrt router

  I've got a WBMR-HP-G300H Buffalo Airstation router on which I've installed the lates OpenWRT software. All is working well (ADSL, WIFI etc) except for one niggle. I can't communicate between lan ports. i.e. if I have one computer connected on lan port 1 and I try to ping another computer on lan port 2 then I get "destination unreachable". I can ping both computers from the router itself and can also ping each computer from a seperate laptop connected wirelessly. All computers are in the same subnet range (10.0.0.?/24). I suspect that I may need to configure a vlan on the switch but everytime I try and do this with various google'ed configuration I keep freezing out all lan-ports and I have to revert back using a wirelessly connected laptop. • Windows user account gets automatically locked

  One of the user accounts on a Windows 2003 server is frequently locked. Each time the "Account is locked" (roughly translated) checkbox is enabled in the Account Properties - Account tab. The event viewer only mentions that the account is locked, or that I've unlocked it. However, I don't see any message why the account gets locked in the first place. Are there know reasons why an account gets locked, or is there a way to find out why this happens?

• Interface builder hangs.

  I was running IB without any problems when it hanged when I was trying to modify the properties of a tableview. I couldn't get it to forcequit as my whole OS hanged and I had to do a hard reboot. Since then I couldn't get it to run at all, everytime I start it, it just hangs and gives me the option to ForceQuit. I've reinstalled Xcode+IB, but it's still the same. Help? Thanks, Teja

  looking at the things which can be done with the Parallel deployments in Tomcat 7, I wonder how new or changed configuration could be provided to these various versions of the application. In a nutshell - what parallel deployment offers is that pushing a new version of a war file to the webapps dir (with filenames like "App##01.war, "App##02.war") and ever user with a new session will get the newer version, all others stay with the old version. So how could one provide different or additional configuration (properties) to the various versions? Cheers.

  I found 3 numbers for the Total Physical Memory: In the Task Manager under the Performance tab: 1978 MB In Computer Properties: 2 GB And running wmic computersystem get TotalPhysicalMemory /format:list in the command line: 2074554368 Bites Number 1 matches Number 3 except Number 1 is rounded. When I convert Number 3 to GB 2074554368 / 1024 / 1024 / 1024 I don't quite get 2 GB. I get 1.93207932 GB. Why does Number 1 and Number 3 not match Number 2?

• Using photos from network drive with Windows 8 photo app

  I have photos on my network drive that I want to display (in live tiles preferably in the photo app). Under c:\users\paul\pictures I have made a link to them, using mklink /d: And this works fine in classic: But nothing appears in the photo.app: I am guessing that this is an issue with indexing - the photos won't appear until they are indexed, and Windows won't normally index a network drive (unless you make it "available offline, which just copies the files locally) - but this is exactly what the mklink was supposed to work around, and the properties show it is indexable: Any ideas?

  Is there any DirectX diagnostcs tool which will allow me to understand if Graphics acceleration from my GPU is actually working or software rendering is kicking-in instead? I ask this because If I go properties (right click on desktop) -- settings -- I get an error saying my drivers are not working for my Intel Embedded GPU (Intel Embedded Graphics Driver - IEGD) and the system is defaulting to standard VGA drivers.   I have a few Window XP clients that are part of a domain, when trying to set the permissions on the security tab and pressing location to search the AD for users it only presents the local machine... So I follow this path Right click folder Properties Security Add in the locations field where I would normally see the windows domain, I am only seeing the local machine name??? • Why is my SharePoint people search WorkEmail property blank?

  I have an SSP setup for my site and I am trying to get the presence bubble working correctly. However, I cannot get the people search core results webpart to display the workemail. I have output the raw xml into my people search core results xslt and used the SharePoint Query Web Service Test Tool to try and find values for these properties, but they are appearing blank (including sipAddress and HighConfidenceDisplayProperty11). Note: The presence bubble does work when hard coded to users email address, so the problem is absolutely to do with the search results.

• Alienware m15x (older model) BSOD investigation

  A frined of mine asked me to help him with an Alienware m15x laptop that had a little service history. It was bought in june 2008, serviced in january 2009 for a random fps drop problem, Alienware returned it saying nothing was wrong. The laptop still had hiccups, but after juggling a few drivers and settings, the fps drops weren't as noticeable. Eventually it died in Sept. 2009. It would not boot up locking itself on a white/gray screen. (i think it was overheating .. clocking in 100 degrees Celsius). So back to Alienware it went. They replaced the GPU and all was fine. Up until these blue screens started showing up. One other thing that was updated was the HDD and a Windows 7 reinstall, in August. From then on it seems to have started its BSOD. Could this be the culprit? Why? 0_o The original Windows was Vista but it was upgraded with a digital download/purchase of Windows 7 Home Premium and activated after installing windows. No errors on the old HDD, just on the latest installation. LE:Due note that now the old HDD is used to see if issues re-occur. So please, I am in need of someone who can interpret these windows dump files: Minidump I may have come to some conflicting conclusions. So if someone can clarify each dump/date and the probable cause/error it had; and a final conclusion or solution, we would be very grateful.   Hi all! I'm having problems configuring a old Cisco PIX running 6.3 and wondered if anyone can lend a hand? Simply put I have a PIX 506e that I want to put in my VoIP data path. I can't update it and getting a compat version of Java for that version of PIX is tough so I can't log onto the web interface. The PIX straddles two networks..... 192.168.5.0 on the inside, ...50.0 on the outside both net masks are 255.255.255.0 I have a local Asterisk server cluster with a single service IP (<local asterisk>) SIP is on UDP 5060 and RTP (for the voip data) is on UDP 18000-18999 I know thats a big range but hey may as well. I need the 192.168.5.0 net to have web and ftp access for updates and the like. DHCP, DNS and NTP is already provided on that network so I don't need external DNS access. • IIS Manager won't let me create an application

  Had a thing at work today on a Windows Server 2003 box. In IIS Manager I'm trying to create an application for a directory. So I've brought up the properties dialog and clicked the "Create" button and it did absolutely nothing - no error, the application name box stays greyed out and there's no gear icon on the folder. Also there was no event log message. Has anyone seen this happen or know of a solution?
