I found a really interesting peculiarity of Lynx while trying to write an application using bitcoin. The problem is that although the bitcoin site does not always open with modern browsers like Google Chrome or Firefox, it always opens using the Lynx browser.
The same peculiarity appears with some other web-sites. I was wondering what the reason could be for this but was not able to come up with any.
Any ideas, or this is just coincidence?
I have updated my calendar in Outlook 2007 but I'm unable to find the steps to make it sync to my new Nokia E72. Is there a need for special software, or it does not sync with Outlook 2007?
Is it easier to Sync it directly with Google calendar?
Many thanks
Mike
I have a ThinkPad X61, and I'd like to configure sensitivity of the Synaptics pointing stick scrolling feature on a per-application basis. I did this about 4 years ago on my ThinkPad T41, using a configuration file - but I can no longer find any info on this configuration file, and there are no configuration files under C:\Program Files\Synaptics.
The pointing stick is usually known as TrackPoint or UltraNav in IBM material.
Specifically, I'm trying to reduce scrolling sensitivity in Google Chrome on a Windows 7 64-bit X61 ThinkPad.
I'm using Google public DNS. Does it have any effects on torrent connections? In other words, does using public DNS decrease torrent downloading speed?
When I open Google Maps on a client PC that is behind a Large Scale NAT (LSN, Carrier grade NAT) the number of concurrent connections is limited to 15.
Do you have any solutions how to enable more connections when behind an LSN(CGN)?
As I understand it, Google Drive and Dropbox, the two cloud storage providers I happen to know, can only sync a predefined folder that is created upon installation.
I'd be happy to have an automated synchronisation of my folders in the cloud, but I'm not ready to change my habits, and start saving all my documents in the folder imposed by the provider.
Is it possible with one of these, or any other you might know, to sync the full Windows user folder instead?
Is there any way I could sum up the lowest 100 values within a range?
I know that min() would give you the lowest value but i need something to return the 100 lowest values.
I just used 100 hypothetically to make it easier to understand what I'm trying to achieve.
I can use any of the following spreadsheet apps: Openoffice.org, Excel or Google Spreadsheets -- whichever works.
Thanks a lot!!!
Hi,
How do I go about deleting my YouTube account? It became associated with my Google Account under a stupid name, all I wanted to do was change it to my name. Unfortunatly, it's now become unlinked and I can't do anything with it.
Ideally, I'd like to just delete it and start again - I don't think you can rename an account...does anyone know how?
Thanks,
Kieron
I love the Chrome browser but I use XML quite a lot in my development work and when I view it in Chrome I just get the rendered text.
I know that the source view is slightly better but I'd really like to see the layout and functionality that IE adds to XML namely:
Highlighting
Open/close nodes
Any ideas how I can get this on Chrome?
Thanks,
Josh
UPDATE:
The XMLTree Extension is available on Google Chrome Extension Beta Site.
Thanks again for your help.
It seems like whenever I go to search for a phrase containing "-" it(google) ignores it. Earlier today for example I was searching for vss -y but once I hit search it would show that it was really searching for "vss y".
I know most of the tricks when searching like using +, "", etc. But I'm wondering if theres some other trick to make it not ignore these characters.
Thanks in advance.
Do you know a good way to replicate (more or less) the behavior of Google Chrome's omnibar within Firefox?
I'm especially interested in a way to have Firefox suggest the root of the website when I type, instead of a random page I have visited a bit more often.
Right now, if I select something and do a right click, the only search option I see is
Search Google for 'whatever I
selected'
for example:
How do I add more search engines to this list?
Does anybody here know of a decent setup for having multiple computers and devices (iPhone/Android) logged into the same IM accounts (yahoo, gtalk, AIM) with consolidated web-based chat logs?
I've tried/thought of a few approaches:
IRC w/ IRSSI and bitlbee (was nice, but not a great solution for phones and chat logs were painful)
Google Talk (would be great if I could just use this, but I need to support Yahoo - perhaps a Jabber relay?)
Meebo (can this be used as a proxy?)
I need help with my browsers. In Windows 7 Basic I have 2 browsers installed: Internet Explorer 8 and Google Chrome. When I try to open pages which are associated with Microsoft (like Live and others), my browser crashes; Internet Explorer 8 crashes too. But Opera (I've installed it later) works fine with those pages.
P.S. I tried to scan my PC for trojans and viruses, but it's clean.
I like to have the extensions like Gmail Checker and Google Voice checker closest to my eyes, therefore closer to the url bar. I have tried disabling and enabling extensions to order them correctly, but once I close chrome, they appear in a different order (always the same undesirable "different" order). Is there a way to prevent them from rearranging themselves?
Thanks
I notice that the text on some web pages look bad when viewed in Chrome (16.0.912.77 m) while OK with Firefox (10.0). FWIW, I'm using the Windows versions of those applications, with default settings.
As an (ironic) example, www.google.com/webfonts.
Does someone know why that is, and if something can be done about it?
Thank you.
Edit: Another example:
Edit: Here's how it looks in FireFox:
Thunderbird/Lightning - How to "accept" an outlook invite and have it added to my google calendar?
Currently, when I "accept" outlook originated events they are added to my "work" cal by default and not sure how to sync this or have this sync'ed to my google cal.
Is there a way to set lightning to add accepted events to my google cal by default, which i've set up remotely using the google provider?
Thanks -dm
I'm having trouble with the Gmail yellow notification area disappearing too quickly in Google Chrome. For reference, I am talking about the notification that appears at the top of Gmail after archiving or deleting a message from a web browser.
I tried it on IE9 and it works fine. I have also cleared the cache and cookies on Chrome and the issue persists. Has anybody run into this on Chrome and know of a solution?
Since cloud solutions (Google AppEngine, Amazon, etc.) do more for you, at the end of the day do they cost significantly more than doing it "yourself" with co-location hosting, etc.
Not just starting out, but when the website is mature and getting many page views a day.
