  • Automatic sort for excel worksheet

    - by Joseph
I want to create a to-do list in Excel that automatically sorts the to-do entries in a list, in order of ones to do first (closest deadlines). I would also like a section that shows the tasks for today and another for high-priority tasks coming up within a week. I have not programmed in Excel before. I know Python and JavaScript, but want an Excel solution that runs inside Excel (maybe using VBA, the Excel programming language). Is this sort of thing possible in Excel?

  • DotNetOpenAuth OpenID Provider "Sequence contains more than one element"

    - by Matthew Johnson
Hello, all, I'm having trouble implementing my OpenID provider with DNOA 3.4.3. Everything was going absolutely peachy until I needed AX support as well. I set AXFetchAsSregTransform in the web config, as recommended by Andrew at http://groups.google.com/group/dotnetopenid/browse_thread/thread/5629a24c0a7e8d99. Doing this caused me to get the exception "Sequence Contains More Than One Element" on my decide.aspx page, however, and I haven't been able to get past it. The following line is throwing the exception: Edit: Strangely enough, this is not the line throwing the error anymore. The SendResponse() is now triggering the exception ClaimsRequest requestedFields = ProviderEndpoint.PendingRequest.GetExtension(); ProviderEndpoint.SendResponse() Any thoughts on why this may be? Any help would be greatly appreciated! The logs leading up to the error are as follows: 2010-04-28 12:38:20,247 (GMT-7) [5] INFO DotNetOpenAuth.Messaging.Channel - Scanning incoming request for messages: https://myprovider/provider.ashx?openid.ns=http%3A%2F%2Fspecs.openid.net%2Fauth%2F2.0&openid.claimed_id=http%3A%2F%2Fspecs.openid.net%2Fauth%2F2.0%2Fidentifier_select&openid.identity=http%3A%2F%2Fspecs.openid.net%2Fauth%2F2.0%2Fidentifier_select&openid.mode=checkid_setup&openid.ns.ext1=http%3A%2F%2Fopenid.net%2Fsrv%2Fax%2F1.0&openid.ext1.mode=fetch_request&openid.ext1.type.email=http%3A%2F%2Faxschema.org%2Fcontact%2Femail&openid.ext1.type.fullname=http%3A%2F%2Faxschema.org%2FnamePerson&openid.ext1.type.language=http%3A%2F%2Faxschema.org%2Fpref%2Flanguage&openid.ext1.required=email&openid.return_to=http%3A%2F%2Fmyrelyingparty%2Flogin.jsp%3Foidreturn%3D%252Fhome&openid.assoc_handle=%7B634080802953194640%7D%7BHxjFNw==%7D%7B20%7D&openid.realm=http%3A%2F%2Fmyrelyingparty 2010-04-28 12:38:20,285 (GMT-7) [5] INFO DotNetOpenAuth.Messaging.Channel - Processing incoming CheckIdRequest (2.0) message: openid.claimed_id: http://specs.openid.net/auth/2.0/identifier_select openid.identity: http://specs.openid.net/auth/2.0/identifier_select openid.assoc_handle: {634080802953194640}{HxjFNw==}{20} openid.return_to: http://myrelyingparty/login.jsp?oidreturn=%2Fhome openid.realm: http://myrelyingparty/ openid.mode: checkid_setup openid.ns: http://specs.openid.net/auth/2.0 openid.ns.ext1: http://openid.net/srv/ax/1.0 openid.ext1.mode: fetch_request openid.ext1.type.email: http://axschema.org/contact/email openid.ext1.type.fullname: http://axschema.org/namePerson openid.ext1.type.language: http://axschema.org/pref/language openid.ext1.required: email 2010-04-28 12:38:22,773 (GMT-7) [14] INFO DotNetOpenAuth.Messaging.Channel - Scanning incoming request for messages: https://myprovider/login.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2fdecide.aspx 2010-04-28 12:38:36,167 (GMT-7) [5] INFO DotNetOpenAuth.Messaging.Channel - Scanning incoming request for messages: https://myprovider/login.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2fdecide.aspx 2010-04-28 12:38:38,147 (GMT-7) [14] ERROR DotNetOpenAuth.Messaging - Protocol error: An HTTP request to the realm URL (http://myrelyingparty/) resulted in a redirect, which is not allowed during relying party discovery. at DotNetOpenAuth.Messaging.ErrorUtilities.VerifyProtocol(Boolean condition, String message, Object[] args) at DotNetOpenAuth.OpenId.Realm.Discover(IDirectWebRequestHandler requestHandler, Boolean allowRedirects) at DotNetOpenAuth.OpenId.Realm.DiscoverReturnToEndpoints(IDirectWebRequestHandler requestHandler, Boolean allowRedirects) at DotNetOpenAuth.OpenId.Provider.HostProcessedRequest.IsReturnUrlDiscoverableCore(OpenIdProvider provider) at DotNetOpenAuth.OpenId.Provider.HostProcessedRequest.IsReturnUrlDiscoverable(OpenIdProvider provider) at OpenIdProviderWebForms.decide.Page_Load(Object src, EventArgs e) at System.Web.Util.CalliHelper.EventArgFunctionCaller(IntPtr fp, Object o, Object t, EventArgs e) at System.Web.Util.CalliEventHandlerDelegateProxy.Callback(Object sender, EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.Control.OnLoad(EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint) at System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequest(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint) at System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequest() at System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequest(HttpContext context) at ASP.decide_aspx.ProcessRequest(HttpContext context) at System.Web.HttpApplication.CallHandlerExecutionStep.System.Web.HttpApplication.IExecutionStep.Execute() at System.Web.HttpApplication.ExecuteStep(IExecutionStep step, Boolean& completedSynchronously) at System.Web.HttpApplication.PipelineStepManager.ResumeSteps(Exception error) at System.Web.HttpApplication.BeginProcessRequestNotification(HttpContext context, AsyncCallback cb) at System.Web.HttpRuntime.ProcessRequestNotificationPrivate(IIS7WorkerRequest wr, HttpContext context) at System.Web.Hosting.PipelineRuntime.ProcessRequestNotificationHelper(IntPtr managedHttpContext, IntPtr nativeRequestContext, IntPtr moduleData, Int32 flags) at System.Web.Hosting.PipelineRuntime.ProcessRequestNotification(IntPtr managedHttpContext, IntPtr nativeRequestContext, IntPtr moduleData, Int32 flags) at System.Web.Hosting.PipelineRuntime.ProcessRequestNotificationHelper(IntPtr managedHttpContext, IntPtr nativeRequestContext, IntPtr moduleData, Int32 flags) at System.Web.Hosting.PipelineRuntime.ProcessRequestNotification(IntPtr managedHttpContext, IntPtr nativeRequestContext, IntPtr moduleData, Int32 flags) 2010-04-28 12:38:38,149 (GMT-7) [14] INFO DotNetOpenAuth.Yadis - Relying party discovery at URL http://myrelyingparty/ failed. • Implementing Audit Trail- Spring AOP vs.Hibernate Interceptor vs DB Trigger

    - by RN
I found couple of discussion threads on this- but nothing which brought a comparison of all three mechanism under one thread. So here is my question... I need to audit DB changes- insert\updates\deletes to business objects. I can think of three ways to do this 1) DB Triggers 2) Hibernate interceptors 3) Spring AOP (This question is specific to a Spring\Hibernate\RDBMS- I guess this is neutral to java\c# or hibernate\nhibernate- but if your answer is dependent upon C++ or Java or specific implementation of hibernate- please specify) What are the pros and cons of selecting one of these strategies ? I am not asking for implementation details.-This is a design discussion. I am hoping we can make this as a part of community wiki

  • jqGrid - Problems opening in jquery tabs (on Firefox and Google Chrome)

    - by Ben Hargreaves
    I have developed a very simple MVC app to test out trirand's jqGrid for MVC. The app opens a jqgrid in a jquery tab group and everything is ok with IE. However when I use Firefox jqgrid only opens occasionaly in the first tab (but not under any other tab), and in Chrome my jqgrids dont appear to open under any tab of the group. I'm a bit of an MVC newbie (and have only been testing jqgrid out for a few days), but I know my users will want to use different browsers. Trirand have not come back with any answer so wondered if anyone else had had a similar issue. I have really just implemented jqgrid as per the controllers and model in the sample application on the Trirand site, and then combined it with a straightforward jquery tab group. My MVC Details Page is as follows; <%@ Page Title="" Language="C#" MasterPageFile="~/Views/Shared/Site.Master" Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage<PRAMSAPP.Models.Family>" %> <%@ Import Namespace="Trirand.Web.Mvc" %> <%@ Import Namespace="PRAMSAPP.Controllers" %> <%@ Import Namespace="PRAMSAPP.Models" %> <asp:Content ID="Content1" ContentPlaceHolderID="TitleContent" runat="server"> Details </asp:Content> <asp:Content ID="Content2" ContentPlaceHolderID="MainContent" runat="server"> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="/scripts/jquery-ui-1.7.2.custom.css" /> <script type="text/javascript" src="/scripts/jquery-1.3.2.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="/scripts/jquery-ui-1.7.2.custom.min.js"></script> <fieldset> <legend>Family</legend> <div class="display-field"><%= Html.Encode(Model.FamilyID) %></div> <div class="display-field"><%= Html.Encode(Model.FamilySurname) %></div> </fieldset> <div id="tabs"> <ul> <li> <%= Html.ActionLink("GridChildren", "GridDemo", new { controller = "Grid", id = Model.FamilyID })%> </li> <li> <%= Html.ActionLink("Children", "ShowFamiliesChildren", new { famid = Model.FamilyID, page = Page})%> </li> </ul> </div> <p> <%= Html.ActionLink("Edit", "Edit", new { id=Model.FamilyID }) %> | <%= Html.ActionLink("Back to List", "Index") %> </p> <script type="text/javascript"> $(function() { $('#tabs').tabs(); }); </script> </asp:Content> And My Controller page is as follows; <%@ Page Language="C#" Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage<PRAMSAPP.Models.FamiliesChildrenJqGridModel>" %> <%@ Import Namespace="Trirand.Web.Mvc" %> <%@ Import Namespace="PRAMSAPP.Controllers" %> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" > <head id="Head1" runat="server"> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <!-- The jQuery UI theme that will be used by the grid --> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="screen" href="/Content/themes/redmond/jquery-ui-1.7.1.custom.css" /> <!-- The Css UI theme extension of jqGrid --> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="screen" href="/Content/themes/ui.jqgrid.css" /> <!-- jQuery library is a prerequisite for jqGrid --> <script type="text/javascript" src="/Scripts/jquery-1.3.2.min.js"></script> <!-- language pack - MUST be included before the jqGrid javascript --> <script type="text/javascript" src="/Scripts/grid.locale-en.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="/Scripts/jqgrid/jquery.jqGrid.min.js"></script> </head> <body> <div> <%= Html.Trirand().JQGrid(Model.FamiliesChildrenGrid, "JQGrid1") %> </div> </body>

  • Is it possible to use WinMerge inside Visual Studio 2008 and Visual Source Safe 6.0?

    - by Tim Santeford
I would like to use WinMerge as the default diff tool inside VS2008 from the solutions explorer in place of the "Compare..." context menu item. Is this possible? I'm looking for a quick replacement of the current bland diff tool an I just like WinMerge better. I'm not interested in going to the folder explorer and doing the comparison there. Im using Visual Source Safe 6.0 not TFS Is this possible? Thanks in advanced!

  • Spark VS 2010 intellisense

    - by mare
I was thinking about switching one of my projects (and after that subsequently other projects too) to Spark View Engine but after todays research I ran into problem of a lack of Intellisense for Visual studio 2010. Not only that but it seems that the project is not maintained regularly. So I'm left with a feeling that I should not choose Spark at this time yet. However, apparently NHaml has the same "issues" too. I know it is discussed in more detail here http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1451319/asp-net-mvc-view-engine-comparison but I would still like you thoughts on what to choose or just stay with WebForms view engine for now?

  • How to run benchmarking on MySQL?

    - by HexaHow
My server has installed MySQL Server 5.1. I would like to run benchmarking on the MySQL, but I couldn't found sql-bench, which is Benchmark Suite provided by MySQL. The MySQL Benchmark Suite seem like complicated to be install or setup into my server. I need one can be direct setup to test the benchmark without using Perl script liked the benchmark suite from MySQL. Do anyone knows how to get the most popular benchmarking tool to measure MySQL performance? I need to measure the performance of my SQL written in ASP.Net that connecting to MySQL. I need to optimize the SQL script. It's better has a benchmarking tool where can be read my SQL in many times and return me the query result's time for comparison, etc. I just need to know the time consuming and performance for the each SQL runs in many times.

  • web2py or grok (zope) on a big portal,

    - by Robert
Hi, I am planning to make some big project (1 000 000 users, approximately 500 request pre second - in hot time). For performance I'm going to use no relational dbms (each request could cost lot of instructions in relational dbms like mysql) - so i can't use DAL. My question is: how web2py is working with a big traffic, is it work concurrently? I'm consider to use web2py or Gork - Zope, How is working zodb(Z Object Database) with a lot of data? Is there some comparison with object-relational postgresql? Could you advice me please.

  • Integrating my website with BlogEngine.Net

    - by Kabeer
Hello. I am developing a site (ASP.Net based) that, besides other features enables the users to blog as well. I am thinking of integrating BlogEngine.Net to my portal. From whatever little I have analyzed, integrating at presentation layer will be far more challenging in comparison to doing so at business layer. That means (I guess) I will have to use the BlogEngine.Core.dll in my application. I am looking for some sort of approval from the community, complimented with suggested do's and dont's. BTW, I find the business layer a bit intimidating (complex) as I want some basic & necessary features only.

  • SQL WHERE clause not returning rows when field has NULL value

    - by JohnB
Ok, so I'm aware of this issue: When SET ANSI_NULLS is ON, all comparisons against a null value evaluate to UNKNOWN SQL And NULL Values in where clause SQL Server return Rows that are not equal < to a value and NULL However, I am trying to query a DataTable. I could add to my query: OR col_1 IS NULL OR col_2 IS NULL for every column, but my table has 47 columns, and I'm building dynamic SQL (string concatenation), and it just seems like a pain to do that. Is there another solution? I was to bring back all the rows that have NULL values in the WHERE comparison. UPDATE Example of query that gave me problems: string query = col_1 not in ('Dorothy', 'Blanche') and col_2 not in ('Zborna', 'Devereaux') grid.DataContext = dataTable.Select(query).CopyToDataTable(); (didn't retrieve rows if/when col_1 = null and/or col_2 = null)

  • How can I get full filenames from Git difftool (for Microsoft Word "Compare Documents" feature)?

    - by Doug
I am using the latest version of Git (1.6.6) on a Mac. My wife wants to use Git to manage her fiction writing as long as she can still use Microsoft Word 2008 (Mac). Instead of pushing her into saving everything as plain text, I would like to use Git Difftool to pass the files to Word and use Word's Compare Documents feature. She wouldn't be able to use Git Diff since Word docs are binary files but she could still use Git Difftool. I have written an Applescript which takes two filenames in this format: /Users/foo/Documents/my_novel.docx and opens Word to do the file comparison. However, Git Difftool seems to only pass the bare filenames (e.g. my_novel.docx) as parameters. Is there anyway to get the full filenames from Git Difftool? Thanks, Doug

  • Web Deployment Projects for VS2010 on build server failing with Error MSB4086

When I upgraded my Web Deployment Project from VS2008 to the VS2010 beta version, I was able to execute the build locally on my development box. However, when I tried to execute the build on our TeamCity build server, I began getting the following exception: C:\Program Files\MSBuild\Microsoft\WebDeployment\v10.0\Microsoft.WebDeployment.targets(162, 37): error MSB4086: A numeric comparison was attempted on "$(_SourceWebProjectPath.Length)" that evaluates to "" instead of a number, in condition "'$(_SourceWebProjectPath)' != '' And $(_SourceWebProjectPath.Length) >= 4)". I did install the Web Deployment Project addin on my build server and I did copy over the C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\Microsoft\VisualStudio\v10.0\WebApplications directory on my development box to the C:\Program Files\MSBuild\Microsoft\VisualStudio\v10.0\ directory on the build server. Note: My dev box is 64bit and the build server 32bit. I can't figure out why this is behaving differently on the build server than on my dev machine. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks, Steve

  • Shopping Portal based on XML Data - XSLT or PHP?

    - by buggy1985
For my bachelor thesis I want to implement a shopping (price comparison) portal prototype based on XML Data. The main requirement is to get a very clear and customizable HTML template, which should be hosted by the customer on his own webserver. I'm not very sure if XSLT meets this requirements, as it generates a lot of xsl-related code. It is not easy to understand for people with little HTML skills. I have some experience with the PHP templating engine Smarty. The syntax is much better, but I'm not sure if it's a good idea to parse the XML data with PHP, as it is very complex. Which language should I choose for a web application with high complexity? XSLT or PHP?

  • Cfsearch in combination of documents and indexed query data?

    - by Bart B
hi! I have an application which stores all kind of data about people. The current cfsearch functionality (in Verity) includes searching documents that are attached to these people. If i have 2 documents attached to 1 person, 1 with say ABC in it and the other with XYZ in it, my ideal searchresult for "ABC AND XYZ" would return the 1 person. But as both 'words' are indexed in different documents, the standard behaviour is not to return any result from the cfsearch, because the combination doesnt exist in any of the 2 documents. Is there any way to combine indexed documents and/or query data in a way that the search is executed in the combination of relevant docs and data? In my application that would mean that i could index all documents and data regarding people and have an intelligent 'global' search to find the right person. any pointers and help very much appreciated! (should Solr offer new possibilities in comparison to Verity, no problem!) thanks! Bart

  • Php Framework Advice

    - by gnomixa
I am looking for a lightweight php framework with the following qualifications: ability to write my own sql queries ( i simply don't trust CakePHP like method where the framework does your sql for you); ability to integrate Jquery easily; built-in templating, or relatively easy to introduce Smarty (or another templating engine) into it; MVC; fast Any advice/comparison? i have looked into CodeIgniter, Symfony and CakePHP so far. Symfony is slow, and CakePHP is too inaccessible ...so far my choice would be CodeIgniter. I played with it a bit, but i would like to hear more experiences. I am looking for a framework that will "enforce" organization of my app in a logical way - MVC seems like a great choice.

  • Weird behavior of substitution in Mathematica.

    - by Ilya
    My question is: why doesn't the following work, and how do I fix it? Plot[f[t], {t, 0, 2*Pi}] /. {{f -> Sin}, {f -> Cos}} The result is two blank graphs. By comparison, DummyFunction[f[t], {t, 0, 2*Pi}] /. {{f -> Sin}, {f -> Cos}} gives {DummyFunction[Sin[t], {t, 0, 2 *Pi}], DummyFunction[Cos[t], {t, 0, 2 * Pi}]} as desired. This is a simplified version of what I was actually doing. I was very annoyed that, even after figuring out the annoying "right way" of putting the curly brackets nothing works. In the end, I did the following, which works: p[f_] := Plot[f[t], {t, 0, 2*Pi}] p[Sin] p[Cos]

  • Equivalents to Z80 DJNZ instruction on other architectures?

    - by Justin Ethier
First a little background. The z80 CPU has an instruction called DJNZ which can be used in a similar manner as a for loop. Basically DJNZ decrements the B register and jumps to a label if not zero. For example: ld b,96 ; erase all of the line disp_version_erase_loop: call _vputblank ; erase pixels at cursor (uses b reg) djnz disp_version_erase_loop ; loop Of course you can do the same thing using regular comparison and jump instructions, but often it is handy to use the single instruction. With that out of the way, my question is, do other CPU architectures include a similar control instruction?

  • .NET or Windows Synchronization Primitives Performance Specifications

    - by ovanes
Hello *, I am currently writing a scientific article, where I need to be very exact with citation. Can someone point me to either MSDN, MSDN article, some published article source or a book, where I can find performance comparison of Windows or .NET Synchronization primitives. I know that these are in the descending performance order: Interlocked API, Critical Section, .NET lock-statement, Monitor, Mutex, EventWaitHandle, Semaphore. Many Thanks, Ovanes P.S. I found a great book: Concurrent Programming on Windows by Joe Duffy. This book is written by one of the head concurrency developers for .NET Framework and is simply brilliant with lots of explanations, how things work or were implemented.

  • Using normalize-string XPath function from SQL XML query ?

    - by Ross Watson
Hi, is it possible to run an SQL query, with an XPath "where" clause, and to trim trailing spaces before the comparison ? I have an SQL XML column, in which I have XML nodes with attributes which contain trailing spaces. I would like to find a given record, which has a specified attribute value - without the trailing spaces. When I try, I get... "There is no function '{http://www.w3.org/2004/07/xpath-functions}:normalize-space()'" I have tried the following (query 1 works, query 2 doesn't). This is on SQL 2005. declare @test table (data xml) insert into @test values ('<thing xmlns="http://my.org.uk/Things" x="hello " />') -- query 1 ;with xmlnamespaces ('http://my.org.uk/Things' as ns0) select * from @test where data.exist('ns0:thing[@x="hello "]') != 0 -- query 2 ;with xmlnamespaces ('http://my.org.uk/Things' as ns0) select * from @test where data.exist('ns0:thing[normalize-space(@x)="hello "]') != 0 Thanks for any help, Ross
