  • How to insert a WebView into a cocoa app?

    I'm rather new with the whole OSX programming, I wanted to stick a WebView into an empty app. Apparently it isn't as simple as sticking a WebView on a window in interface builder and creating an outlet. IBOutlet WebView *webView; It gives me a expected specifier-qualifier-list before 'WebView' and when I don't use an outlet, it terminates due to uncaught exception. I'm not too sure what these error messages mean. Seems it isn't that simple!

  • 2 dimensional arraylists in java

    So here's the deal I'm working on a project that requires me to have a 2 dimensional arraylist of 1 dimensional arrays. But every time I try to load in my data I get an error: Can't do this opperation because of bad input java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException: Index: 1, Size: 0 On some of the inputs.   • Large transactions causing "System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Timeout expired" error?

    My application requires a user to log in and allows them to edit a list of things. However, it seems that if the same user always logs in and out and edits the list, this user will run into a "System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Timeout expired." error. I've read comments about increasing the timeout period but I've also read a comment about it possibly caused by uncommitted transactions. And I do have one going in the application. I'll provide the code I'm working with and there is an IF statement in there that I was a little iffy about but it seemed like a reasonable thing to do. I'll just go over what's going on here, there is a list of objects to update or add into the database. New objects created in the application are given an ID of 0 while existing objects have their own ID's generated from the DB. If the user chooses to delete some objects, their IDs are stored in a separate list of Integers. Once the user is ready to save their changes, the two lists are passed into this method. By use of the IF statement, objects with ID of 0 are added (using the Add stored procedure) and those objects with non-zero IDs are updated (using the Update stored procedure). After all this, a FOR loop goes through all the integers in the "removal" list and uses the Delete stored procedure to remove them. A transaction is used for all this.     Hi, I've switched my webserver from tomcat to jetty and encounter a "java.sql.SQLException: Io exception: Connection reset" when back from idle time (eg. i go out for a while) :( This issue doesn't appear when i use tomcat. Does it come from jetty or i've done something wrong ? Thank you!

    I usually see Ruby on Rails books using script/generate model Story name:string link:string which is a singular Story, while when it is controller script/generate controller Stories index then the Story now is Stories, which is plural. Is this a standard on Ruby on Rails? Is it true in other MVC frameworks too, like CakePHP, Symfony, Django, or TurboGears? I see that in the book Rails Space, the controller is also called User, which is the same as the model name, and it is the only exception I see.

  • Replace a control on the screen

    Hello all, I have an instance of a FlowCoverView (a great library that emulates cover flow on the iPhone). And it works great, with the exception of an update. When I update my table behind the scenes, I have no way of telling this control (that is defined in IB) that it has been updated, and to reload. (much like you can with a table using reloadData) To the question, is there a way to replace a control that is on the screen with another control to force the reload?

When I write another file's content like: file.properties.content.write(content); It works, and the file's contents are copied into my file. But I can't insert string directly, like: file.properties.content.write("Stuff like that"); it gives an exception. How can I write string into this file?

  • How to pass non-fatal warnings from a library

    A library function parses a file and returns an object. If a parser encounters unknown data, missing values etc., it shouldn't throw an exception and stop parsing (because this is not fatal), but there should be a way to pass information about these things to a caller (so that warnings can be displayed in the UI, for example). How can these warning be returned? I'm thinking of passing a callback function/object into the library, are there any other possible solutions?

What I want is to preserve the '\' in the regex - is there some other JSON-friendly way to escape it?

    This is a Canonical Question about File Permissions on a Linux web server. I have a Linux web server running Apache2 that hosts several websites. Each website has its own folder in /var/www/. /var/www/contoso.com/ /var/www/contoso.net/ /var/www/fabrikam.com/ The base directory /var/www/ is owned by root:root. Apache is running as www-data:www-data. The Fabrikam website is maintained by two developers, Alice and Bob. Both Contoso websites are maintained by one developer, Eve. All websites allow users to upload images. If a website is compromised, the impact should be as limited as possible. I want to know the best way to set up permissions so that Apache can serve the content, the website is secure from attacks, and the developers can still make changes. One of the websites is structured like this: /var/www/fabrikam.com /cache /modules /styles /uploads /index.php How should the permissions be set on these directories and files? I read somewhere that you should never use 777 permissions on a website, but I don't understand what problems that could cause. During busy periods, the website automatically caches some pages and stores the results in the cache folder. All of the content submitted by website visitors is saved to the uploads folder.

    In Visual studio 2008 is it possible to have a resource file that is included as a separate file after compilation rather than as an embedded resource. This is to enable small changes to be rolled out more easily. I have tried build options of Resource, None, Compile and also copy local on and off for most of these. However when ever I try access the resource at run time I get a cannot find resource exception. Is this actually possible or am I wasting my time?

  • How to stop attributes from being pickled in Python

    I am using gnosis.xml.pickle to convert an object of my own class to xml. The object is initialized so that: self.logger = MyLogger() But when I do dump the object to a string I get an exception stating that the pickler encountered an unpickleable type . Is there a way to 'tag' the logger attribute so that pickler will know not to try and pickle that attribute?

  • IE 8 jquery 1.4.2 event error

    I am using Xinha editor with Jquery 1.4.2 and cannot use the UI components in IE 8. Other browsers work great! include the following scripts: jstree also throws a 'data not included' exception (which stumps me since it works without including the xinha library) Is there a way to find the conflict with Xinha and either work-around or resolve it for IE 8 using 1.4.2 jquery thanks please let me know if you need more info.

    I understand why passing a null to HashTable.Contains() doesn't work, but I don't understand what the point of it throwing an ArgumentNullException is - instead of just simply returning false? What is the benefit of throwing the exception (other than to make me do null checks before calling .Contains())? Caused By [System.ArgumentNullException] Key cannot be null.   • Determining if an Activity exists on the current device?

    Is there a way to check and see if an Activity exists on your device? If I have a youtube video link I want to specify it open in the YouTube PlayerActivity. However, I don't want to crash if for some reason they don't have it. Is there a way to check and see if the activity exists? I don't think I can catch the runtime exception since startActivity() doesn't throw it.
