• MOSS 2007 central administration - cannot connect to the configuration database

  I am unable to access Sharepoint Central Administration. I installed MOSS 2007 successfully on Windows Server 2008 (IIS7 and SQL Server 2005), I launched the admin and got "Cannot connect to the configuration database" error. Application pool is using NetworkService account which has access to SQL Server. I can access the configuration databases through SQL Management Studio. SQL server is on the same machine. Any help, suggestions on how to solve the problem? I am very new to SharePoint.

• Automated payment notification with php

  I'm about to integrate automated payments into a site. To date, I've successfully used paypal for a number of projects, but these have always been sites which sell physical goods, meaning I can upload the cart contents, user pays, person physically ships goods. This site is a one off payment to enable extra features on a web app. My current thinking is to go down the paypal IPN route to get a notification back and update the users account based on the successful payment. Question is in two parts: 1 - is there a better / simpler way? (any payment processor considered) 2 - does anyone know of a code library or plug in for php which will speed up my integration? • How does refer(r)er work technically?

  I don't understand: how are webserver and trackers like Google Analytics able to track referrals? Is it part of HTTP? Is it some (un)specified behavior of the browsers? Apparently every time you click on a link on a web page, the original web page is passed along the request. What is the exact mechanism behind that? Is it specified by some spec? I've read a few docs and I've played with my own Tomcat server and my own Google Analytics account, but I don't understand how the "magic" happens. Bonus (totally related) question: if, on my own website (served by Tomcat), I put a link to another site, does the other site see my website as the "referrer" without me doing anything special in Tomcat?

• htaccess redirect from subdomain to root

  I'm hosting several domains on one account, and I currently have a RewriteRule set to redirect the root url (www.root.com) to a subdirectory (/public_html/root/). However, I have few directories in the root (/public_html/xyz/) that I would like to access from the root url (www.root.com/xyz). Is this possible to write a redirect for this, or do I have to place these folder in the /public_html/root/ directory? • SNMP from the browser

  There"s this idea of having a web app search for devices in the network (with elevated user permissions, of course). Checking the silverlight and flash APIs, there does not seem to be a way to do SNMP ( the UDP APIs are limited to multicasting media ). Anyone know a clever workaround? In windows, a small XBAP utility can do the SNMP stuff, but that leaves out the Mac OS X platform. Thanks for any ideas. ( I do have a SO account but I"m in a not so trustworthy public PC right now so I didn"t log in. )

• How can I break into the development business scene if I'm the new kid on the block?

  I'm about 1 semester short of graduating from college with my Systems Engineer degree. I've started my own software development company here in a country in South America last week, and so far I managed to land myself a nice account. I have to build a simple enough program that will take me 6-7weeks to complete and I'll charge 2000$. 40% up front and the rest on completion. While this is great and I'm really excited about my first project (Hell it's a landmark for any professional!), I'm already setting my eye on landing projects that will be visible for other companies to see. I've spoken with many people in my trade around town and it seems there are two companies that manage the big accounts with other small companies scrounging around for the scraps. How can I break this so called fellowship that is pretty much a monopoly here? Any and all suggestions will be massively appreciated.

• Calculating co-ordinate of a point on a path given a distance

  I'm working on a project that surveys the condition of a road or highway using a calibrated trip computer connected to a rugged-PC. An operator keys in defect codes as they travel along a pre-defined route. I need to show an indicator on the map screen that shows the vehicles current position, taking into account the distance data from the trip computer. I know the exact lat lon co-ordinates at the starting point of each section of road, and the road is made up of a series of points. The question is: how can I calculate the lat lon co-ordinates of the vehicle assuming that it has continued on the route and traveled a certain distance (e.g. 1.4km). The co-ordinates would be 'locked onto' the road line, as shown in blue on the diagram below. Thanks, Alex

• Authenticate sites with different domain names using the Facebook API

  We have a CMS that supports multiple sites, one of our features allows our users (The site admin) to connect to the site facebook account to allow status updates, create events and upload pictures to FB from with in the CMS. The authentication needs to occur once since each site may have multiple site admins that do not have access to the site FB user name and password. We use iframe and authenticate using $facebook-require_login() which redirects the user to the FB login and authentication pages. All this works just fine but when the user hits "Allow" the authentication will break as it will only redirect to whatever is in the "Post-Authorize Redirect URL" field making the app obsolete for any other domain except the one in the "Post-Authorize Redirect URL" I know other API's authentication methods like in Vimeo and YouTube will allow you to specify a NEXT parameter which is the equivalent of the "Post-Authorize Redirect URL" and it can be set at run time. How can I make this work for multiple domain names? Any hints on this issue will be of great help

• Photo uploading via email

  I'd like to be able to upload photos via email, which I've seen (and used) on eat.ly and meetups.jquery.com but I haven't been able to work out how to do this, does anyone have a solution? Essentially I believe the process should be something like this: 1) user adds picture to email on mobile device then send to a specific email address, say '[email protected]' 2) email server, cron job or something else looks at the senders address and tells it to add the attachement to that account 3) photo shows up on users profile page I run Apache servers, with MySQL, PHP, and a JQuery framework. I have email servers running Courier, and I missing anything?

• How to use the correct Google OpenID url to login to my site?

  Hello everyone: I am trying to implement OpenID as one preferred option to my next web app here The code is taken from this tutorial and works if I use my openID from myopenid.com However, I believe most people would just love to use their everyday email address as their openID, as far as I know, Google, Yahoo, and some other big players have already done this in their systems. My question is: how could I find the correct "url" to enter in the form to login? I used my Google OpenID account for StackOverflow and it works just fine. I try to copy my openID like this: www.google.com/accounts/o8/id?id=aitoawllano10bzdzp3ht0diffry0qt6_j2ls-m And paste it directly into my form, but it doesn't work. I also tried to remove the url parameter, but that won't do, either. Thanks a lot in advance for any tips and suggestions.

• Paypal IPN setup...Ship to Zipcode and auto calculation

  Hi I have successfully setup paypal IPN on my site and its working fine. From my paypal account I have set options to ass shipping and tax calculations(only if it's Iowa). But the only issue is, on the paypal checkout page it's asking me to enter the "Ship to Zipcode" manually...if I enter and update only then the net payable is getting updated with the shipping and tax charges. Is there any variable via which I could send the ship to zip code which will work directly on the cart and make it auto calculate the charges and show it? I have tried both "zip" and "address_zip" variables. None of them worked. By the way I have multiple items on my cart so I am using the "cart" transaction type. Thanks in advance for your help.

  Lets assume I have two tables Table tA ID ID2 SomeColumns Table tB ID ID2 SomeOtherColumns I am looking to create a Object let's call it ObjectA (based on tA), that will have a one-to-many relationship to ObjectB (based on tB). In my example however, I need to use the combination of ID and ID2 as the foreign key. If I was writing SQL it would look like this: select tB.* from tA, tB where tA.ID = tB.ID and tA.ID2 = tB.ID2; I know that for each ID/ID2 combination in tA I should have many rows in tB, therefor I know it's a one-to-many combination.   Hey, I've got a SharePoint website running on my machine (which it shows me inside the Application Pool in the Inet Manager). Now this website has a different user credentials specified under the Identity section (properties). Also when I view the w3wp.exe in the task manager it shows that the site is running as a different user. The problem is that if I change the username and password of the existing user with mine, the site stops working. How do I run it under my account credentials. Please help. Thanks

  I have been working through installing django social registration on my webfaction account. So far I have the facebook login working. When I attempt to log in to to twitter I get the correct login page but after choosing "Allow" I am forwarded to the following URL: http://example.com/social/twitter/callback/.... where "example.com" is the actual URL it is forwarding to. I have setup the twitter app and have entered a valid oauth callback URL. I have searched the code on my developer machine for references to "example.com" but have not found any. Any help nailing this down will be greatly appreciated.

  I'm familiar with the Front Controller pattern, in which all events/requests are processed through a single centralized controller. But what would you call it when you wish to keep the various parts of an application separate at the presentation layer as well? My first thought was "Facade" but it turns out that's something entirely different. In my particular case, I'm converting an application from a sprawling procedural mess to a clean MVC architecture, but it's a long-term process -- we need to keep things separated as much as possible to facilitate a slow integration with the rest of the system. Our application is web-based, built in PHP, so for instance, we have an "index.php" and an IndexController, a "account.php" and an AccountController, a "dashboard.php" and DashboardController, and so on.

How can i get these credentials to log in? I'd like to log in as root i guess. But i don't know how to setup a root account and create a password for root using the cli and mysql. Please help? • How can I get latency info from Android's AudioTrack class?

  I've noticed that the C++ classes underlying the AudioTrack and AudioRecord APIs in Android both have a latency() method that is not exposed via JNI. As far as I can see, the latency() method in AudioRecord still does not take into account the hardware latency (they have a TODO comment for that), but the latency() method in AudioTrack does add in the hardware latency. I absolutely need to get this latency value from AudioTrack. Is there any possible way I can do this? I don't care what kind of crazy hack is needed as long as it doesn't require a rooted phone (the resulting code must still be packaged as an app on the market).

  The website we running let people register their own URL and redirect to our website to their user account. Lets it is something similar to Blogspot.com where users can have their own URL. The problem is that in order to do this we need to have static IP address for the DNS redirection to work. We can easily get static IP addresses from most hosting companies, but if we change our hosting company it means we will have to force all our users to change their DNS setting to our new IP address. This if very problematic. Is there a way of owning our own IP address that we can take it with us to wherever hosting company we decide to go with? Or there there other easier solutions out there?

  Hello, i have a database fill with information of the users who use my webpage. The table as many MySql tables have the ID parameters who is autoincrement. The issue is that when somebody eliminate his account from the site, in the database remain a jump in the sequence that i dont want cuz i have a script who fail if find some jump in the ID. Ex. ID Name PASS 1 Jhon 1234 2 Max 2233 3 Jorge 2232 If Max get out and a new user go in, this is what will happend. ID Name PASS 1 Jhon 1234 4 NewU 1133 3 Jorge 2232 So what is the best way to erase some body from the data base in order to avoid this isuue, or if is not a way, its posible to do a PHP or MySql script who eliminate all the contents in the ID row and regenerate it in order? • Django-allauth redirected to connections

• Help replace this SQL cursor with better code

  Can anyone give me a hand improving the performance of this cursor logic from SQL 2000. It runs great in SQl2005 and SQL2008, but takes at least 20 minutes to run in SQL 2000. BTW, I would never choose to use a cursor, and I didn't write this code, just trying to get it to run faster.   Hi all, I'm trying to use the StoreKit API in OS3.0 for the iphone to do in app purchase. However, I'm getting the following error when trying to purchase something in the SANDBOX ENVIRONMENT. The item you tried to buy is no longer available [Environment: Sandbox] Here's the code I use to do the payments: SKPayment* payment = [SKPayment paymentWithProductIdentifier:model.productId]; [[SKPaymentQueue defaultQueue] addPayment:payment]; I've also queried storekit for the list of available products and that seems to work just fine returning the same product identifiers that I'm now using to purchase the item. I have all the products setup in iTunes Connect and created a test user. Before debugging the app I signed out of the store in the settings menu and entered my test account and password when debugging my own app. What could be going on here?
