  Hi, how do i prevent schemagen from adding the super-class to the schema? • ffmpeg volume parameter format

  ffmpeg's -vol parameter is confusing me. 256 => normal (i guess meaning same as input volume, no change) 512 => (double the volume - read this somewhere). So what to do for 3 times the volume? 1.5 times the volume? Basically, lets say I have the max sound amplitudes (audacity levels) in 3 files as: 0.8 0.6 0.9 I want to amplify in the first two files, so that max=0.9 in all files. What parameters of -vol I would use?

I am a bit confused here. because the function ac_search is declared as a global (not inside any container). Why can't I call it at this place? Am I missing something? • Major permission repair needed on Mac Os

  I made the fatal error of copying and pasting a sudo command into my terminal without double checking it, here it is. sudo -R mysql / What this does (for those that don't know) is recursively change the owner every file from the root down to mysql!! obviously not what i was intending This has of course played havoc with my system, the first thing i did was the apple permission repair but that only works for files that it has an idea of though it has changed a lot of file ownerships back to root. It seems that many library files are still owned incorrectly, as a lot of problems don't work. What i propose doing as a temporary fix until i can reinstall mountain lion is to recursively set all ownerships that are mysql to Luke. I'm not sure what they should precisely but this is still better than nothing. Is this possible using a shell script? I realise that this won't fix the problem properly and i will have to reformat but i need the machine in a workable state just for this week.

  I have a network drive mapped to a share on a Window Server 2003. I have a shortcut to this drive stored in my Windows 7 favorites. When I double click the shortcut and then rename a file on the drive, if the file is longer than 8 chars or contains spaces then I get this error The drive that this file or folder is stored on does not allow long file names, or names containing blanks or any of the following characters:... If I get to the network drive by click on it in the tree under computer then it works fine. Is there a way to get round this?

• Hashtable resizing leaks memory

  I wrote a hashtable and it basically consists of these two structures: typedef struct dictEntry { void *key; void *value; struct dictEntry *next; } dictEntry; typedef struct dict { dictEntry **table; unsigned long size; unsigned long items; } dict; dict.table is a multidimensional array, which contains all the stored key/value pair, which again are a linked list. If half of the hashtable is full, I expand it by doubling the size and rehashing it: dict *_dictRehash(dict *d) { int i; dict *_d; dictEntry *dit; _d = dictCreate(d->size * 2); for (i = 0; i < d->size; i++) { for (dit = d->table[i]; dit != NULL; dit = dit->next) { _dictAddRaw(_d, dit); } } /* FIXME memory leak because the old dict can never be freed */ free(d); // seg fault return _d; } The function above uses the pointers from the old hash table and stores it in the newly created one. When freeing the old dict d a Segmentation Fault occurs. How am I able to free the old hashtable struct without having to allocate the memory for the key/value pairs again?

• wsdl xml parsing , maxlength problem after encoding of text

  We are working together with another firm. our application communicates with the other application through WCF on our side and a custom implemented java wsdl handler on the other side. They specify the wsdl format and one of the rules is that a specific string cannot contain more then 15 characters. (normally it's 60, but i take 15 for easy example reasons) When we try to send the following string to them we get an error that the string is too long according to the wsdl: "example & test" this is a string of 14 characters, so it should be allowed the microsoft wcf parser translates this to "example &amp; test" . This encoded string is 18 characters long. Now what is the standaard behavior to check a maxlength defined in a message? Is it the encoded message or the decoded message? I would think it's the decoded message , but i ain't sure. If it is the encoded message, how should we handle this so we would know how we have to split the string?

Or, click Disable if the Directory Browsing feature is enabled and you want to disable it. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc731109%28WS.10%29.aspx However, my IIS console doesn't have the Directory Browsing option mentioned in Step 2. How can this option be made available. Note, this is for a static HTML site, so I don't have any web.config or ASPX files.

• JavaApplicationStub Compatibility with all java versions

  Hi, I am running a Java application on Mac Leopard & on Mac Mini. My Mac Mini upgraded, it is using Java Version 1.6.0_17 and Mac Leopard have version 1.5.0_13. To run that application on Mac Mini I have to copy JavaApplicationStub from path -"/System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Resources/MacOS/JavaApplicationStub" to my application "Content/Resources/Java". But this application successfully run on Mac Leopard. If I do not copy stub at Mac Mini then I am unable to launch application using app by double click, it shows icon for few second then disappears, so in that case I have to run application with its jar. I want that without copying explicitly JavaApplicationStub, how can I run app with all versions of java. If this possible then what changes I have to made? The info.plist file contain JVMVersion is 1.4+. Thanks!

The number must not contain non-digits and must be 14 digits long or less. It's hard to see the difference between a normal and a curly bracket. Do you usually put the last ) on the same line as the last condition? Do you keep the first opening ( on a line by itself? Do you wrap each individual sub-condition in brackets too? Do you align horizontally the first ( with the last ), or do you place the last ) in the same column as the if? Do you keep ) { on a separate line or you place the last ) on the same line with the last sub-condition and then place the opening { on a new line?   I'm very interested in the user-space RCU (read-copy-update), and trying to simulate one via tr1::shared_ptr, here is the code, while I'm really a newbie in concurrent programming, would some experts help me to review? The basic idea is, reader calls get_reading_copy() to gain the pointer of current protected data (let's say it's generation one, or G1). writer calls get_updating_copy() to gain a copy of the G1 (let's say it's G2), and only one writer is allowed to enter the critical section. After the updating is done, writer calls update() to do a swap, and make the m_data_ptr pointing to data G2. The ongoing readers and the writer now hold the shared_ptr of G1, and either a reader or a writer will eventually deallocate the G1 data. Any new readers would get the pointer to G2, and a new writer would get the copy of G2 (let's say G3). • Escape a ! in the password parameter of wget

  I'm trying to execute something like this: wget --user=foo --password=bar! url The ! in the password is causing problems. I've tried escaping it with \, as in --password=bar\! I've tried encapsulating in single and double quotes. I put the password in a separate file and tried --password=cat pass.txt Each time, I get a 403 Forbidden. Using -d, I see that the SSL handshake is successful. On the Windows command line, the command works. My assumption is that I need to escape the ! differently, but I don't know how else.

I opened it by holding down the shift button and double click on it and it will open to a normal ms access where you can modify the table and so. But when I just click the file: charitablecontributions.accdb it will open to a formular view where the ribbon bars are gone. I wanted to know how, how is it possible to have this formular view? My target is to create this table in db (PERSON_TABLE with personal-details) ID ADDRESS NAME SURNAME MUNICIPALITY_ID First of all, i have a MUNICIPALITY table in db containing all municipality of my country. All works good when i have to save a new Person record, in fact hibernate creates a PERSON_TABLE as i want, but if i try to retrieve a Person record i have an exception. HQL is simply "from Person" The excpetion is (Entities is the package containing all classes above-mentioned): org.hibernate.AnnotationException: @OneToOne or @ManyToOne on Entities.Person.address.municipality references an unknown entity: Entities.Municipality Is the @OneToOne annotation the problem? • Outlook 2007 attachments wont preview

  When I get an email with an attachment in Outlook 2007 that I should be able to preview (ie - image, word doc, etc) I get the following error: This file cannot be previewed because of an error in the following previewer: Microsoft Outlook image previewer To open this file in its own program double-click it. (obviously the previewer changes name depending on the type) The computer is a clean install (it's only 5 days old) and I remember I was at one point able to preview within Outlook. I'd really like this feature to be back working, I've tried the usual exit Outlook, restart Windows, etc but to no avail.

• Return latitude/longitude based on entered address

  I'm building a php based application for a client to enter in addresses for their customers' buildings. They'd like the ability to view the location on a map (either as individuals or grouped in a city search). What I'm trying to accomplish is a lookup once the address is entered into a form that populates the database, so after they enter in the addresss, city, state, zip (these are all US locations) they could click a "get lat/long info" link/button that would check to make sure the data is complete, then would lookup the address and return the latitude/longitude into the appropriate form fields. Then the form could be submitted to store the info, and I could later just pull the lat/long when plotting on a map. 1) Does this make sense, or would I be better off just doing the lookup when it's time to plot it? 2) Does anyone have any pointers to solve this problem? I've seen some of the Google/Yahoo API's but it looks like this is more based on the plotting a point part. I may be able to modify it to suit my needs, but I'm just trying to cut some research time posting here with the hopes one of you may have a more direct route. I'll RTFM if I have to... Thanks, D.

• How to store unlimited characters in Oracle 11g?

  We have a table in Oracle 11g with a varchar2 column. We use a proprietary programming language where this column is defined as string. Maximum we can store 2000 characters (4000 bytes) in this column. Now the requirement is such that the column needs to store more than 2000 characters (in fact unlimited characters). The DBAs don't like BLOB or LONG datatypes for maintenance reasons. The solution that I can think of is to remove this column from the original table and have a separate table for this column and then store each character in a row, in order to get unlimited characters. This tble will be joined with the original table for queries. Is there any better solution to this problem? UPDATE: The proprietary programming language allows to define variables of type string and blob, there is no option of CLOB. I understand the responses given, but I cannot take on the DBAs. I understand that deviating from BLOB or LONG will be developers' nightmare, but still cannot help it.

• Recompiling an old fortran 2/4\66 program that was compiled for os\2 need it to run in dos

  I am helping an old scientist with some problems and have 1 program that he found and modified about 20 yrs. ago, and runs fine as a 32 bit os\2 executable but i need it to run under dos! I am not a programmer but a good hardware & software man, so I'am pretty stupid about this problem, but here go's I have downloaded 6 different compilers watcom77,silverfrost ftn95,gfortran,2 versions of g77 and f80. Watcom says it is to old of program,find older compiler,silverfrost opens it,debugs, etc. but is changing all the subroutines from "real" to "complex" and vice-vesa,and the g77's seem to install perfectly (library links and etc.) but wont even compile the test.f programs.My problem is 1; to recompile "as is" or "upgrade" the code? • Prevent machine in a LAN from receiving a remote shutdown

  I'm probably just overreacting, but I recently came across a LAN-scanner that showed me the option "remote shutdown", for all found computers on the scanned network. Now, how exactly does this work? If I send such a message, will the shutdown happen no matter what, or is it required to have the password/user-name of the user of that other computer. Mostly I'm wondering: can this be done to me and how do I prevent it? EDIT: what's more, I had the scanner check for shares. The result being this: Double clicking the links opens them in explorer, basically meaning my entire C and F drive(only 2 HD's I have) are completely exposed to anyone in my LAN. Or can I open these because it's my own machine?

  I have 2 computers. On the computer A, I have a custom module written in C# for powershell 3.0 and installed via a MSI. I also have a shortcut that open powershell with the module already loaded. I can just double click on my shortcut and run my command Do-Something on this computer without any problem, like the Exchange Server powershell. But now I would like to do it from a remote session on computer B in C#. So my question is, how can I open a remote powershell session to computer A with my module already loaded and the shell configured so I can just run my command and obtain the same result than if I run it on computer A?

• Using "wildcards" in a vlist array to delete rows in Excel

  Good Morning All, I'm trying to setup a vba macro to delete all user IDs out of a spreadsheet that do not start with designated prefixes (e.g. US, A1, VM, etc). The below block of code was found on the Code Library and looks to be what I need but there is one problem: When I enter in UserID prefixes into the vlist fields, it treats them as absolute rather then a part of the string that I want to keep. Is there a way to incorporate wildcards into a vlist? • How to bind to the sum of two data bound values in WPF?

  I have designed an analog clock control. It uses the stroke from two ellipses to represent an outer border and an inner border to the clock face. I have exposed properties in the UserControl that allow a user to alter the thickness of these two borders. The Ellipse.StrokeThickness properties are then bound to these UserControl properties. At the moment, I am binding the UserControl property for the outer border thickness to the margins of the inner elements so that they are not hidden when the border size is increased. <Ellipse Name="OuterBorder" Panel.ZIndex="1" StrokeThickness="{Binding OuterBorderThickness, ElementName=This}" Stroke="{StaticResource OuterBorderBrush}" /> <Ellipse Name="InnerBorder" Panel.ZIndex="5" StrokeThickness="{Binding InnerBorderThickness, ElementName=This}" Margin="{Binding OuterBorderThickness, ElementName=This}" Stroke="{StaticResource InnerBorderBrush}"> ... <Ellipse Name="Face" Panel.ZIndex="1" Margin="{Binding OuterBorderThickness, ElementName=This}" Fill="{StaticResource FaceBackgroundBrush}" /> ... The problem is that if the inner border thickness is increased, this does not affect the margins and so the hour ticks and numbers can become partially obscured or hidden. So what I really need is to be able to bind the margin properties of the inner controls to the sum of the inner and outer border thickness values (they are of type double). I have done this successfully using 'DataContext = this;', but am trying to rewrite the control without this as I hear it is not recommended. I also thought about using a converter and passing the second value as the ConverterParameter, but didn't know how to bind to the ConverterParameter. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. EDIT Thanks to Kent's suggestion, I've created a simple MultiConverter to add the input values and return the result. Any ideas? EDIT Interestingly, the Margin property can be bound to a data property of type double, but this does not seem to apply within a MultiBinding. As advised by Kent, I changed the Converter to return the value as a Thickness object and now it works. Thanks Kent.
