    Seriously, I don't know what to google. Here's the thing, I like this java-like code writting: if (condition == true) { doSomeStuff(); } But VisualStudio "helps" me with his own "style", which I don't like and I am unable to change (after rather big time of desperate checking all settings :/) if (condition == true) { DoStuff(); } I obviously want the "{" char to be in same line where condition is ... I am using MS Visual Studio 2010 professional Any help appreciated!

    Several MS apps support the concept of chords, like "CTRL+X,Y" which means "holding down CTRL, press X, then Y". Is this a bespoke thing they (and other companies) implement, or is it built into any APIs? It would be nice to be able to set up event handlers or accelerators based on chords rather than write code to do it.

    I've been (unsuccessfully) trying to install the "pg" gem on my ruby 1.9.3-p286 but nothing seems to work. I've already installed postgresql (9.1), libpq-dev and a few others like postgresql-server-dev-9.1. I've tried to pass the "with-pg-config" flag to the gem install but simply nothing seems to work. Every time I try to install the gem it outputs something like this: Building native extensions. This could take a while...     I have a MS SQL Fulltext Function like this: (...) RETURNS TABLE AS RETURN SELECT * FROM fishes INNER JOIN CONTAINSTABLE(fishes, *, @keywords, @limit) AS KEY_TBL ON fishes.id = KEY_TBL.[KEY] When I use this function in LINQ, it generates a special return type which includes all fields of my "fishes" table, plus Key and Rank. How could I rewrite above query, or change something in LINQ, to omit Key and Rank and just return my "fishes" results (and to have the fulltext search result objects be of type Fish, which is what I really care about, so I don't have to cast)?

    I have following problem: I want to check (C#) if thread has finished execution, i.e. if the thread method returned. What I do now is call Thread.Join(1), but this gives 1 ms delay. Is there any way to simply check if thread finished. Inspecting Thread.ThreadState just seems too cumbersome.

Once Normal View is selected all works fine. Is there any way to force Word to open with Normal View instead of Web View?
