  • Internationalized strings in Eclipse plugin.xml file are not found when installed in Eclipse applica

    Hi, I have created 2 plugins, implementing an ODA driver plugin and its UI plugin for the BIRT extension to Eclipse. My plugins both work as expected when eclipse starts up another eclipse application where I can then test the plugins I am developing. However, when I install my plugins into an Eclipse application and then start it from a Windows shortcut, the plugins work but and language keys specified in the plugin.xml files are not found. For example, in my plugin.xml file for the ODA Driver plugin I set the attributes 'id' to '%oda.data.source.id' and the data source 'defaultDisplayName' to '%data.source.name'. I then, in a file 'language.properties', have defined the values for both of these keys (where the keys don't have the preceeding % character). When running the plugins that have been installed into the dropins/plugins directory of an Eclipse application, the wizard for creating my ODA data source names is as '%data.source.name' and saves the data source in the rptdesign (XML) file with an ID of '%oda.data.source.id'. Since 'language' is not the default name for the properties file I went into the manifest for both plugins and changed the 'Bundle-Localization' attribute to 'language'. The language file is located in the root directory of both of my plugins. The properties file is definitely found, since I use the two language files to store other strings used by the plugins, looked up using a java ResourceBundle. The strings are always found whether the plugins are run from Eclipse application loading another, or when properly installed in the dropins/plugins directory of an Eclipse application. Why are the installed plugins not finding language keys reference in the plugin.xml files? There are not errors in the logs and the language.properties files are clearly accessible...   • How do I make a jQuery POST function open the new page?

    I know that a submit button in HTML can submit a form which opens the target page, but how do I cause a jQuery ajax call POST information to a new page and display the new page. I am submitting information that is gathered by clicking elements (which toggle a new class) and then all items with this new class are added to an array and POSTed to a new page.   • I have 5 links that open the same modalpopup?

    I have 5 links that are on the same form but I would like them all to reference the same AJAX modalpopup extender. I am basically showing a panel with the same view layout with just different data depending on which link is pressed, showing different match scores from games. The only way I can get it to work is have 5 panels with unique names and each link references its own panel. Can I get all the links to call one panel? Thanks

  • SSL HandShakeException: No_Certificate. Using IBM's J9 JVM and Apache Tomcat

    I am developing a mobile application that is to run on a Windows Mobile PDA. The application is written in Java and to run it we are using the J9 JVM from IBM. The application communicates with an Apache Tomcat server over HTTP and we are trying to set it up now to use SSL. I have generated public/private keys for both the client and the server, exported their self signed certificates and imported them into the respective keystores. Initially I tried to just get it working using only server side authentication and that was successful. But I am now trying to get mutual authentication by setting clientAuth="true" in the server.xml file in the apache conf directory. I have enabled the SSL logging on the server and when the client connects the server reports an SSLProtocolException: handshake alert: no_certificate.     I have a simple search php script, within that script there is some html and javascript to make a search input field and a button. What i am trying to do is when someone enters a search, and presses submit, thickbox opens, and the results will be displayed in the thickbox. What i have so far is the search field and button, when i press submit, it briefly shows the thickbox, and than is overloaded by the result page, but than with no search results.   • Should I Prefer a Closed or Open List<> System?

    Hey guys, I've got a class in my project that stores a List< of elements. I'm trying to figure out whether I should allow the user to add to that List directly (e.g. Calling the native add/remove methods) or lock it down by declaring the List private and only allowing a handful of methods I choose to actually alter the List. It's a framework, so I'm trying to design it as robustly as possible, but I also want to keep it as simple and error-free as possible. What's the best practice in this situation? Thanks, Tyler

From the commandline I can do this: echo -ne "\e]1;hello world\a" And that'll show "Hello World" in my tabs. Is there a way to have vim write this stuff to my tab instead of title instead?

  • Object created in Interface Builder getting dealloc'ed too soon

    The Project I'm working on a relatively simple iPhone OS project that's navigation controller based, with a root table view and a detail table view. Tap an item in the main list to see its details in a pushed table view. The Setup I broke out the data source for both views into their own objects so as not to muddy the purpose of a view controller. Having done this, the table views no longer have data sources since those methods are now in separate files, so I created an instance of each data source class in the appropriate XIB files with the Object item (dragged it in, then set its class). Then, to actually connect the tableviews to their data sources, I set the dataSource outlet of each tableview to the yellow data source object in Interface Builder. The table view delegates are still set to their view controllers. The Problem The root table view works just fine, but when you tap a row to push to the detail view, the data source object gets instantiated as expected, then immediately dealloc'ed, causing a crash (numberOfSectionsInTableView: gets called on the freed object). I can't figure out why the data source is getting automatically dealloc-ed when I need it right then and there for the detail view, as indicated by my data source object creation and tableview connection in Interface Builder. What's more perplexing is that the very approach works fine for the root tableview! The Question Is there anything obvious I'm missing that would cause this to happen? Or, is this even the right way to instantiate a data source for a table view controller? It seems like poor object oriented programming to do it from within the view controller, which should only be concerned with the view. I could cram everything in two table view controller classes and it would probably work, but it would not be as modular as I'd like. Thanks!

I have an image (jpeg) that includes an icon in the image file (that is you see an icon based on the image in the file, as opposed to a generic jpeg icon in file open dialogs in a program). I wish to edit the exif metadata, save it back to the image in a new file. Ideally I would like to save this back to an exact copy of the file (i.e. preserving any custom embedded icons created etc.), however, in my hands the icon is lost.     How do we arrange child forms in a parent MDI window? I'm able to call and display a child form from a menu on the parent, but the child pops up outside the parent - I want it to actually be inside the parent. I've checked in C# and VB.Net solutions but they all say pretty much the same, i.e. try to access LayoutMDI, such as here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/x9fhk181.aspx The problem is, where do I access this? When I'm in the code of my MDI parent, Me.LayoutMdi is not recognized. In which part of the application do I put the Me.LayoutMDI code? Edit The Me.LayoutMDI code worked in the parent after all. I'd been trying for a while but don't know where I was going wrong. However, the child continues to pop up out of the parent. Here's an image of how that happens. The broader form in the back is the parent, and the one with the gridview and two buttons is the new child that popped up. I want it to pop up "Docked" within the parent.

  • How to show/open/bringToFront a Window that is inside the MainMenu.xib File?

    This is a stupid question that I should be able to answer myself but I can't seem to get it to work. I have a window inside my MainMenu.xib file that I want to show or bring to front. Right now I have it visible at launch and it works but if I close it with orderOut: and do another instance of it, buttons quit working. How can I reopen the same window that the NSApplication launched at the beginning of the app? I've spent 2+ days trying to figure a way to make it work but no luck. I've even tried to split the window out to it's own xib file but when I do that my methods from the appDelegate fail to respond/work. Any help would be much appreciated. I feel stupid for even asking such a simplistic question. lol Thanks.

    this may not be an earth-shattering deficiency of python, but i still wonder about the rationale behind the following behavior: when i run source = """ print( 'helo' ) if __name__ == '__main__': print( 'yeah!' ) #""" print( compile( source, '<whatever>', 'exec' ) ) i get :: File "<whatever>", line 6 # ^ SyntaxError: invalid syntax i can avoid this exception by (1) deleting the trailing #; (2) deleting or outcommenting the if __name__ == '__main__':\n print( 'yeah!' ) lines; (3) add a newline to very end of the source. moreover, if i have the source end without a trailing newline right behind the print( 'yeah!' ), the source will also compile without error. i could also reproduce this behavior with python 2.6, so it’s not new to the 3k series. i find this error to be highly irritating, all the more since when i put above source inside a file and execute it directly or have it imported, no error will occur—which is the expected behavior. a # (hash) outside a string literal should always represent the start of a (possibly empty) comment in a python source; moreover, the presence or absence of a if __name__ == '__main__' clause should not change the interpretation of a soure on a syntactical level. can anyone reproduce the above problem, and/or comment on the phenomenon? cheers

  • Why would a WebService return nulls when the actual service returns data?

    I have a webservice (out of my control) that I have to talk to. I also have a packet-sniffer on the line, and (SURPRISE!!!) the developers of the webservice aren't lying. They are actually sending back all of the data that I requested. But the web-service code that is auto-generated from the WSDL file is giving me "null" as a value. I used their WSDL file to generate my Web Reference. I checked my data types with the datatypes that the WSDL file has declared. And I used the code as listed below to perform the calls: DT_MaterialMaster_LookupRequest req = new DT_MaterialMaster_LookupRequest(); req.MaterialNumber = "101*"; req.DocumentNo = ""; req.Description = "Pipe*"; req.Plant = "0000"; MI_MaterialMaster_Lookup_OBService srv = new MI_MaterialMaster_Lookup_OBService(); DT_MaterialMaster_Response resp = srv.MI_MaterialMaster_Lookup_OB(new DT_MaterialMaster_LookupRequest[] { req }); // Note that the response here is ALWAYS null!! Console.WriteLine(resp.Status); The resp object is an actual object. It was generated properly. However, the Status and MaterialData fields are always null.   • How to have onSearchRequested not open a web browser.

    I have a button in my app. When it is pressed I call the onSearchRequested() method. When this is called the stock search box comes up so the user can type some junk in there. When they press "Go" I need the results returned back to my application but instead the stock browser is opened and a google search is performed. How can I tell it to return the results to my application instead.   • Is it possible to pop open the upload file dialog without requiring the user to press Browse?

    I think I've seen Gmail do it in Chrome or Internet Explorer, but I've never seen it in Firefox. I thought I'd ask anyways. Is it possible to do a file upload without requiring an <input type="file" />? I see that you can use iframes to automatically submit the file input, so my question is Can you programmatically pop up a file upload dialog? If so, what browsers is it supported on?
