  • How do you clear RootLayoutPanel in GWT?

    I have Buttons attached to elements on the modules entrypoint html page using RootPanel.get("foo").add(button). If I subsequently create a LayoutPanel and attach it using RootLayoutPanel.get.add(layoutpanal) then the buttons cannot be clicked. This is all fine. If I then try and remove the layoutpanel or clear the RootLayoutPanel the buttons still cannot be clicked. Any ideas how to clear this? Have I missed a step or should you simply never try and get back to using a page's RootPanel if you have used a RootLayoutPanel?   • IE8 isn't resizing tbody or thead when a column is hidden in a table with table-layout:fixed

    IE 8 is doing something very strange when I hide a column in a table with table-layout:fixed. The column is hidden, the table element stays the same width, but the tbody and thead elements are not resized to fill the remaining width. It works in IE7 mode (and FF, Chrome, etc. of course). Has anyone seen this before or know of a workaround?   • Isolate clients on same subnet?

    Given n (e.g. 200) clients in a /24 subnet and the following network structure: client 1 \ . \ . switch -- firewall . / client n / (in words: all clients connected to one switch and the switch connected to the firewall) Now by default, e.g. client 1 and client n can communicate directly using the switch, without any packets ever arriving the firewall. Therefore none of those packets could be filtered. However I would like to filter the packets between the clients, therefore I want to disallow any direct communication between the clients. I know this is possible using vlans, but then - according to my understanding - I would have to put all clients in their own network. However I don't even have that much IP addresses: I have about 200 clients, only a /24 subnet and all clients shall have public ip addresses, therefore I can't just create a private network for each of them (well, maybe using some NAT, but I'd like to avoid that). So, is there any way to tell the switch: Forward all packets to the firewall, don't allow direct communication between clients? Thanks for any hint!

  • Start menu entries suddenly missing

    I am using Windows 7 x64 SP1 with all updates applied. During the last weeks I observed that some start menu entries / folders suddenly disappeared. Those programs then sometimes can be found using the search function of the start menu, then however they are labeled by the name of their executable (like photoshop instead of Adobe Photoshop). Does anyone know where to start looking for errors? Does the start menu has anything to do with windows search? I doubt it?

    I am looking for an imaging software, that one can boot from CD or usb stick (therefore without installing anything on the system!) and then control by some kind of remote desktop. So something like a combination of Acronis TrueImage's Bootable Media and Windows Remote Desktop. I don't even need to be able to store the backup on a network drive, as an external usb hdd is attached for these purposes. Background: A system that is normally controlled by SSH / command line and therefore has no keyboard/mouse connected that I could use to control Acronis TrueImage.

  • Set Thunderbird to always reply using plain text [closed]

    Possible Duplicate: How do I tell Thunderbird never to send (or even try to send) html emails? In the account settings of Thunderbird (version 11.0.1) I have disabled HTML and set it to compose messages as plain text. That works for new messages. However, when I get an HTML email and reply to that mail, Thunderbird uses HTML. I went to the setting in: Tools ? Options ? Composition ? Send Options ? Plain Text Domains And have tried *.* as the domain name. I also changed the default text format in Settings - Compose - Send options. Neither of them works, the reply is still using HTML (for my own text). How can I really reply in plain text only, regardless of incoming?

  • ContentAssist delay on editors for Eclipse?

    When using the Java Editor for Eclipse, one can set the ContentAssist delay to 0 seconds (in the Java Editor ContentAssist options). In other language editors, e.g EPIC (Perl Integration), this option isn't offered. However I guess that for all languages editors there is a configuration file where one can change this correctly, which is the same as for the Java Editor. So, where is the configuration file for the Eclipse Java Editor concerning the ContentAssist stuff? Thanks :-)

    I have a table with a bunch of cells. (No way! Amazing! :P) Some of the cells have a small div that when you put your mouse over, it gets bigger so you can read all the text. This works well and all. However, since html elements that come later in the document have a higher z-index, when the div gets bigger it is underneath the other divs in the other cells.     I'm creating an HTML email and since background images can't be used on anything but <body> thought I could get around this by making a border image 100% height within a cell. Perhaps it was wishful thinking? I've searched at the solutions that worked in the past no longer work in modern browsers. Is there any special trick to making this happen without setting a hard height for the cell?     I need a software (for Windows) that finds duplicate images by comparing the actual image content. I have duplicates of images, once with metadata, one without, so the image is the same, but the file is not, so comparing the files byte by byte is not enough. Another requirement is, that I can delete all / several duplicates at once - I don't want to click 100 times "delete"! That is, what I actually would have to do using XnView ): I also checked the other topics here and Google, but if a programscompares the images in a perfect way (like XnView) it doesn't allow the deletion of several duplicates at once

The left- and rightmost cells (A1 and C1) must be 7px wide, and the middle cell (B1) must scale according to the width of the table. The same goes for the bottom row (A3, B3, C3). The middle row, however, needs to scale in height - in other words, it needs to be (tableheight - 14px). The left- and rightmost cells (A2, C2) need to be 7 pixels wide.     I'm creating a scrollable banner for my homepage with 'up' and 'down' button for user to scroll the banner.
