  • best way to communicate between .net and java

    I have a .net application which needs to expose a service consumed by a java client. The service can't be public. There should be some authentication mechanism for the client. What is the best way to do this? I'm new to web services and am confused by all the soap, wsdl etc. and have also heard a lot that it'll be a pain to get the two to communicate. Your thoughts?

    I want to deploy my .net MVC 2 appication on IIS6.0. Will it require to change route path in global.asax file. In my application i have used html link, ajax request and Html.ActionLink. The code lines in the Global.asax file are: routes.MapRoute( "LogOn", "{controller}/{action}/{id}", new { controller = "Account", action = "Index", id = UrlParameter.Optional } ); Please suggest me. Disregarding the security issues with this, I've come up with the following way. curl -F file=@<filename> http://webhost/reciever.aspx The problem is, no matter what I try, the ASP.NET page is not accepting the file. What am I doing wrong?

I was thinking of something where I could declaritively define paths, curves; etc in the aspx markup, and the control would deliver the js to do this (perhaps with support for browser detection, and delivery of an emulation script for IE browsers.)
