• android: error on SQLiteDatabase rawQuery (fetching data)

  So I have a SQliteDatabase mDb. It only has one column, and its data are Strings for previously saved inputs. • Need help with jquery json data transfer from php file

  Hey guys I am trying to return the latest 10 results of a query from a php file, through json format, to a jquery getjson function that prints results. I am getting weird problems though. For example I am only getting 8 entries returned, and some are disordered, and sometimes nothing is returned. I am not really sure what I am doing wrong, so if anyone has any ideas I would really appreciate it.   So I'm working on porting Boids to Brightscript, based on the pseudocode here: http://www.kfish.org/boids/pseudocode.html I'm trying to understand the data structures involved, for example is Velocity a single value, or is it a 3D value, ie velocity={x,y,z} It seems as if the pseudocode seems to mix this up where sometimes it has an equation that incudes both vectors and single-value items: v1 = rule1(b) v2 = rule2(b) v3 = rule3(b) b.velocity = b.velocity + v1 + v2 + v3 If Velocity is a tripartite value then this would make sense, but I'm not sure. So my first question here is, is this the correct datastructure for a single boid based on the Pseudocode on that page: boid={position:{px:0,py:0,pz:0},velocity:{x:0,y:0,z:0},vector:{x:0,y:0,z:0},pc:{x:0,y:0,z:0},pv:{x:0,y:0,z:0}) where pc=perceived center, pv= perceived velocity I"ve implemented a vector_add, vector_sub, vector_div, and vector boolean functions. The reason I'm starting from this pseudocode is I've not been able to find anything else that is as readable, but it still leaves me with lots of questions as the data structures are not explicitly defined for each variable. (edit) here's a good example of what i'm talking about: IF |b.position - bJ.position| < 100 THEN if b.position - b[j].position are both 3D coordinates, how can they be considered "less than 100" unless they are < {100,100,100} ? Maybe that is what I need to do here, use a vector comparison function?

  Say I have some data like this: number_stream = [0,0,0,7,8,0,0,2,5,6,10,11,10,13,5,0,1,0,...] I want to process it looking for "bumps" that meet a certain pattern. Imagine I have my own customized regex language for working on numbers, where [[ =5 ]] represents any number = 5. I want to capture this case: ([[ >=5 ]]{3,})[[ <3 ]]{2,} In other words, I want to begin capturing any time I look ahead and see 3 or more values = 5 in a row, and stop capturing any time I look ahead and see 2+ values < 3. So my output should be: >>> stream_processor.process(number_stream) [[5,6,10,11,10,13,5],...] Note that the first 7,8,... is ignored because it's not long enough, and that the capture ends before the 0,1,0.... I'd also like a stream_processor object I can incrementally pass more data into in subsequent process calls, and return captured chunks as they're completed. I've written some code to do it, but it was hideous and state-machiney, and I can't help feeling like I'm missing something obvious. Any ideas to do this cleanly?

• Databound Label text displays old data upon save. Re-open record and data is correct?

  I have a windows forms application. I have a main form and I have a button on this form to set a "Qualified" date/time stamp. I have a Databound label control that I set the value when the user clicks the button. This date/time stamp is working as far as displaying but when you click the save button it either shows blank or the previous date/time. If you then then close the record and re-open it the new date/time value is displayed so the data is getting to the database it's just not persisting in the dataset as new data?? Not sure why the databinding isn't refreshing the value. I have noticed this behavior even if I use a textbox, same thing if I do it programatically. If I manually type in a value it persists?? • Best Methods for Dynamically Creating New Objects

  I'm looking for a method to dynamically create new class objects during runtime of a program. So far what I've read leads me to believe it's not easy and normally reserved for more advanced program requirements. What I've tried so far is this: // create a vector of type class vector<class_name> vect; // and use push_back (method 1) vect.push_back(*new Object); //or use for loop and [] operator (method 2) vect[i] = *new Object; neither of these throw errors from the compiler, but I'm using ifstream to read data from a file and dynamically create the objects... the file read is taking in some weird data and occasionally reading a memory address, and it's obvious to me it's due to my use/misuse of the code snippet above. • Trouble updating my datagrid in WPF

  As the title indicates, I'm having trouble updating a datagrid in WPF. Basically what I'm trying to accomplish is a datagrid, that is connected to a SQL Server database, that updates automatically once a user enters information into a few textboxes and clicks a submit button. You'll notice that I have a command that joins two tables. The data from the Quote_Data table will be inserted by a different user at a later time. For now my only concern is getting the information from the textboxes and into the General_Info table, and from there into my datagrid. The code, which I'll include below compiles fine, but when I hit the submit button, nothing happens. OLD SITUATION <ul> <!-- about 100 of these <li>....</li> lines --> <li><a href="carrot.php"><p class="mnu" style="background-position:0 -820px"><? echo __("carrot juice") ?></p></a></li> <!-- lots of data, with only little bit thats really the menu itself--> </ul a javascript file reads a ul/li structure as input to build menu of format in that ul/li, the items with a hyperlink and sprite-bg position represent webpages, (inside LI) while items without hyperlink and sprite-bg are just headers of that menusection, (inside H6) to highlight the current page in the menu, the javascript menumaker uses an id number. this number corresponds to the consequtive li that is a webpage, skips h6 headers correctly. these h6 headers are only there for when importing sections of the same menu as submenu. non-li headers are not shown in menu, nore counted by the javascript menu for their ID. to know which page should be shown, i have to count from ID 0, the li items till finding the current webpage in the li structure and then manually put it in each webpage! BUT: changing an item in li order, means stupidly re-counting their entire li again! each webpage has an icon (= sprite bg-position numer), which is also used in the webpage. INTENDED RESULT I dream of, once setting what the current webpage is (e.g carrot.php) the menu system automatically "finds" and "counts" the li's and returns the id nr (for proper highlight of main menu); generates the entire menu html, and depending on which headings are set for submenu, (e.g. meals, drinks) generates those submenu (entire section below each given header); ginally adds h5 highlight inside the li of that submenu item. For the menu, i wish an easily readable, simple plain txt menu that is indented with tabs, (each tab is one depth for example) and further tabs follow for url and sprite position of icon. I already tried to use ax.plot_surface() function to make it look nice. For this I eliminated some points, and recalculated the matrix kind of input needed by this function. However, the graph I generated was far more difficult to interpret and understand. So there might be 2 possibilities: either I am not using the function correctly, or otherwise, the data I am trying to plot is not good for the surface plot. What I was expecting was 3D graph which would have an effect similar to that we have of 3D pie chart. We see that one piece (that which is extracted out) is part of another piece. I was not expecting it to be exactly same like that, but some kind of effect like that. What I would like to ask is: Do you think it will be possible to make such 3D graph? Is there any way better, I could express my data in 3 dimension? If I change my sectionNameKeyPath to just "dueDate" then everything works fine. I think that's because the dueDate attribute never changes whereas the category will be different when read back after the finishedDate attribute changes. Please help! Basically I Go from one list activity to another and pass the text from a list item through the intent of the activity to the new list view, then retrieve that text in the new list activity and then preform a http request based on value of that list item. • NSFetchedResultsController fetch request - updating predicate and UITableView

  In my iPhone Core Data app I have it configured in a master-detail view setup. The master view is a UITableView that lists objects of the List entity. The List entity has a to-many relationship with the Task entity (called "tasks"), and the Task entity has an inverse to-one relationship with List called "list". When a List object is selected in the master view, I want the detail view (another UITableView) to list the Task objects that correspond to that List object. What I've done so far is this: In the detail view controller I've declared a property for a List object: @property (nonatomic, retain) List *list; Then in the master view controller I use this table view delegate method to set the list property of the detail view controller when a list is selected: - (void)tableView:(UITableView *)aTableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { NSManagedObject *selectedObject = [[self fetchedResultsController] objectAtIndexPath:indexPath]; detailViewController.list = (List*)selectedObject; } Then, I've overriden the setter for the list property in the detail view controller like this: - (void)setList:(List*)newList { if (list != newList) { [list release]; list = [newList retain]; NSPredicate *newPredicate = [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat:@"(list == %@)", list]; [NSFetchedResultsController deleteCacheWithName:@"Root"]; [[[self fetchedResultsController] fetchRequest] setPredicate:newPredicate]; NSError *error = nil; if (![[self fetchedResultsController] performFetch:&error]) { NSLog(@"Unresolved error %@, %@", error, [error userInfo]); abort(); } } } What I'm doing here is setting a predicate on the fetched results to filter out the objects so that I only get the ones that belong to the selected List object. However, when I select a list item, nothing really happens. Nothing in the table view changes, it stays empty. I'm sure my logic is flawed in several places, advice is appreciated Thanks

  Hi all- I'm getting some really bizarre stuff while trying to merge multiple data frames. Help! I need to merge a bunch of data frames by the columns 'RID' and 'VISCODE'. However, when I use larger subsets of my data, they both break down and give me the following error: Error in match.names(clabs, names(xi)) : names do not match previous names. The really weird thing is that using this works: dataList = list(demog[1:50,], neurobat[1:50,], apoe[1:50,], mmse[1:50,], faq[1:47, ]) And using this fails: dataList = list(demog[1:50,], neurobat[1:50,], apoe[1:50,], mmse[1:50,], faq[1:48, ]) As far as I can tell, there is nothing special about row 48 of faq. Likewise, using this works: dataList = list(demog[1:50,], neurobat[1:50,], apoe[1:50,], mmse[1:50,], pdx[1:47, ]) And using this fails: dataList = list(demog[1:50,], neurobat[1:50,], apoe[1:50,], mmse[1:50,], pdx[1:48, ]) Row 48 in faq and row 48 in pdx have the same values for RID and VISCODE, the same value for EXAMDATE (something I'm not matching on) and different values for ID (another thing I'm not matching on). Besides the matching RID and VISCODE, I see anything special about them. They don't share any other variable names. This same scenario occurs elsewhere in the data without problems. To add icing on the complication cake, this doesn't even work: dataList = list(demog[1:50,], neurobat[1:50,], apoe[1:50,], mmse[1:50,], faq[1:48, 2:3]) where columns 2 and 3 are "RID" and "VISCODE". 48 isn't even the magic number because this works: dataList = list(demog[1:500,], neurobat[1:500,], apoe[1:500,], mmse[1:457,]) while using mmse[1:458, ] fails. I can't seem to come up with test data that causes the problem. Has anyone had this problem before? Any better ideas on how to merge? Thanks for your help! Jasmine

Is there a short tutorial or example for how to use them? I've seen a rumor that CellList and CellTable are the classes in question. The Javadoc for them is riddled with lots of TODOs, so quite a bit is still missing in terms of usage.
