  • What are the exact versions of stuff you had to install in order to be able to step-debug a Scala pr

    How do YOU debug a Scala program? I mean YOU as in the person posting the Answer :) Please answer only from personal experience, not from stuff you've heard or read on the Internet. You should not believe everything you read on the Internet, especially tales of complex open-source software configurations that actually work :-) The are many Java tools which claim to support Scala in some way or another, but I have so far struck out in trying to get any one of them to actually let me set a breakpoint in Scala code and step through it. These are big, major open-source IDEs I'm talking about here. The main problem in getting a debugger to work seems to be the "version hell" with fast-changing IDEs, Plug-Ins, JDKs, and the Scala language itself. Hence the second part of my question, which is really the most important part: What is the exact version number of the IDE, Plug-In, JDK, Scala, and even Operating System, that you are successfully using?   • Can you tell me why my webpage displays differently in IE and how to fix it.

    I've been browsing through all of the CSS related cross-browser questions trying to troubleshoot my IE styling issues with no luck. Can anyone tell me how to fix my homepage styles so that it displays the same in IE as it currently does in Firefox? I've used Firebug (probably why it looks good in Firefox) but I can't find any tools for IE that will let me change the stylesheet real time. I'm just as interested in the process of figuring out this answer as I am in the answer itself so posting the steps you took to figure it out would be beneficial. (want to be able to do this myself next time!!!) Website is AppQandA.com. Scroll down to the bottom in IE and notice the footer. It's not like this on every page.....just the main page and the questions page.

    I want to pass variable arguments obtained in one function to other function but I am not able to do so. Function gets even number of variable arguments and then it has to be converted in array. Below is the example. Procedure abc1 gets two arguments (k k) and not form abc1 procedure these have to be passed to proc abc where list to array conversion it to be done.     Let's say I have a class library that defines a couple entity interfaces: public interface ISomeEntity { /* ... */ } public interface ISomeOtherEntity { /* ... */ } This library also defines an IRepository interface: public interface IRepository<TEntity> { /* ... */ } And finally, the library has an abstract class called RepositorySourceBase (see below), which the main project needs to implement. The goal of this class is to allow the base class to grab new Repository objects at runtime. Because certain repositories are needed (in this example a repository for ISomeEntity and ISomeOtherEntity), I'm trying to write generic overloads of the GetNew<TEntity>() method. So, C# basically think I'm repeating the same method because there's no way to distinguish the methods from parameters, but if you look at my usage example, it seems like I should be able to distinguish which GetNew() I want from the generic type parameter, e.g, <ISomeEntity> or <ISomeOtherEntity>. What do I need to do to get this to work?

  • Spring server start-up event

    i am facing a problem. I am using tomcat server for my spring maven project and i want to subscribe my application to facebook once when server starts up. I have tried ApplicationListener ContextRefreshedEvent. It gets invoked on application context initialization, but the issue is at that time my server has not completely started and hence my application is not publically accessible which is required in my case as facebook subscription requires verification using application public URL. So i want to do subscription when my server gets started completey and not on application context initialization. Any idea how can i do it? Do i have nay application level event listener that can tell me that server has started completely? Regards jia

  • Problem with displaying my Image..

    Here is my full problem so if anyone has any ideas or can offer some help, please let me know. I have a Website that will generate a Report and this Report takes some time to create. There is a MyReport.ASPX file that has a form1, Image1, and a ReportViewer control. There is also a MyReport.cs file that has C# code to generated a HTMLText string that the ReportViewer control will display. When I pull the Website up in the browser, the MyReport.cs file creates the Report before MyReport.ASPX ever gets called so my Image1 (which I need to display while the Report is being created) never gets displayed until AFTER the Report is created and displayed. What do you suggest I do here? If I did not supply enough information, please let me know what else you need to know and I will gladly post it. Thanks,

    I've followed the Tim's article (mentioned in the answer to this question), but - like many others, it seems - I'm stuck when trying do the test clone at the end. I get the fatal: the remote end hung up unexpectedly error, even though my $HOME path seems to be right. Anyone got any pointers to where I might start for debugging this? My git and linux-fu are severely limited... I'm aware of this answer to the same question, but it doesn't apply in my case, I don't get any messages about paths.

    I have a function acting as a constructor that, when called, gets as far as the function definition in the debugger, but never to the function body. Is there a common reason this may happen that I am overlooking? Example code below: myconstructor.js function MyConstructor(optionalParam) { //this breakpoint gets hit var newobj = {}; //breakpoint never hit //code to check for null parameter //other code }; main.js var myConstructor = new MyConstructor(); There must be something I have overlooked, but I can't see what that is.     I have been getting this error message when I step into some methods Do you want to continue being notified when an Automatic step over occurs? I usually answer Yes and I get taken to the line I want to step to. However, I just pressed No (cause I was tired of the dialog box always popping up). When I did that it skipped a lot of code I wanted to step through. Now when I step into my method it is skipping my method (and jumping to the finally block because the method I am trying to step into is throwing an exception). How can I change my answer back to Yes? I would prefer it never ask me (default showing the code), but if faced with the choice of it skipping the code I need to see, or having a NagBox, I will take the NagBox.

  • Always send certain values with an ajax request/post

    I'm building a system that displays a list of user, and on selection of a user requests some form of password. These values are saved in a hidden field on the page, and need to be sent with every request as a form of authentication. (I'm aware of the MITM-vulnerability that lies herein, but it's a very low-key system, so security is not a large concern). Now I need to send these values with each and every request, to auth the currently 'logged in' user. I'd like to automate this, via ajaxSetup, however i'm running into some issues. My first try was: init_user_auth: function(){ $.ajaxSetup({ data: { 'user' : site_user.selected_user_id(), 'passcode': site_user.selected_user_pc(), 'barcode' : site_user.selected_user_bc() } }); }, However, as I should have known, this reads the values once, at the time of the call to ajaxSetup, and never rereads them. What I need is a way to actually call the functions every time an ajax-call is made. I'm currently trying to understand what is happening here: https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups=#!topic/jquery-dev/OBcEfgvTJ9I, however through the flamewar and very low-level stuff going on there, I'm not exactly sure I get what is going on. Is this the way to proceed, or should I just face facts and manually add login-info to each ajax-call?

    I'm trying to write a shopping basket into a order + orderline in a sql database from C# asp.net. the orderline will contain a ordernumber, total price, productid, quantity etc. for every item in the basket. The order itself will contain the ordernumber as primary key and will be linked to the different lines through it. Everything worked fine yesterday, but now as i tried to use a SELECT command in the insert into statement to get things more dynamic i'm getting the above described syntax error. Does anybody know what's wrong with this statement: INSERT INTO [order] (klant_id,totaalprijs,btw,subtotaal,verzendkosten) SELECT klant.id , SUM(orderregel.totaalprijs) , SUM(orderregel.btw) , SUM(orderregel.totaalprijs) - SUM(orderregel.btw) , 7.50 FROM orderregel INNER JOIN klant ON [order].klant_id = klant.id WHERE klant.username = 'jerry' GROUP BY id; the ordernumber in the "order" table is on autonumber, in the asp codebehind there is a for each which handles the lines being written for every product, there's an index set on 0 outside of this loop and is heightened with 1 every end of it. The executenonquery of the order is only executed once at the beginning of the first loop and the lines are added after with MAX(ordernumber) as ordernumber.   • (UNITY3D) Get slerp to work just as LookAt(,Vector3.right) does

    Ive been working over a sidescroller shooter game. Ive got my sidescroller shooter character to look around with these : chest.LookAt(mousepos,Vector3.right); & chest.LookAt(mousepos,Vector3.left); (Left when the character is turned to the left and right when the character is turned to the right) so it wont aim in to any other axis... But when the mouse gets to cross the middle of the character and not around it it gets the rotation to make a small transportation between frames and it wont get all the way to there.. It'll just teleport to its correct rotation like lookat should. Well the question is, how do I get any quaternion slerp which works with a Time.deltTime to work as same as LookAt(,Vector3.right)? I must have the Vector3.right and left so it'll move trough 1 axis. Many thanks to anyone who helps me out. :)

    Hi, I've been searching around the web for an answer to this one, but was unable to find an answer, on the other side I think it's something quite common thus there is a possibility I'm missing some keywords here. Anyhow, the problem is as follows: When is control given to a callback function in ObjC (iPhone)? Does it happen after control is given to a high up in the hierarchy class responsible for the runloop? Can it occur in the middle of another function call being executed? As an example, let's take the NSURLConnection, we don't know or can't predict when it's going to call didReceiveResponse or the other callback methods, can it be the case that didReceiveResponse get's called when I'm in the middle of another function? (highly doubt that but was unable to find information on callbacks wating for the end of the run loop) Cheers, Kaspa

    Hi, I have searched the web for the answer and saw that mostly variables are saved in viewstate on page.prerender event. However, when I save a variable in viewstate on prerender or load events, how can it store the changed value of the variable? Let's say, after page load, user clicked a button and the value of the variable was changed in onClick event of the button. Then the postback event raised since the button was clicked. According to me, the new value should have been lost and cannot be saved in the viewstate if I save the variable in the viewstate only in prerender event. Shouldn't I save the variable in the viewstate just before the postback event rises? Am I wrong? If so, how can viewstate store the new value of the variable? Thanks for the answer in advance..

  • Bitmap manipulation as a referenced object

    I am working with a Bitmap object that I add annotations or copyright material to the image and then return the modified bitmap. My problem is that the Bitmap won't hold the changes made to it as it moves along the chain. I am treating it as a reference type and would assume that as it gets passed to each class it would carry the changes made to it. I have verified that the code inside of the MarkImage() classes does function, but which ever one gets called last is the one that has changes.
