  • Copy one jagged array ontop of another.

    How could I accomplish copying one jagged array to another? For instance, I have a 5x7 array of: 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0 and a 4x3 array of: 0,1,1,0 1,1,1,1 0,1,1,0 I would like to be able to specify a specific start point such as (1,1) on my all zero array, and copy my second array ontop of it so I would have a result such as: 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0 0, 0, 1, 1, 0, 0, 0 0, 1, 1, 1, 1, 0, 0 0, 0, 1, 1, 0, 0, 0 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0 What would be the best way to do this?

  • Using django-haystack, how do I perform a search with only partial terms?

    I've got a Haystack/xapian search index for django.contrib.auth.models.User. The template is simply {{object.get_full_name}} as I intend for a user to type in a name and be able to search for it. My issue is this: if I search, say, Sri (my full first name) I come up with a result for the user object pertaining to my name. However, if I search Sri Ragh - that is, my full name, and part of my last name, I get no results. How can I set Haystack up so that I can get the appropriate results for partial queries? (I essentially want it to search *Sri Ragh*, but I don't know if wildcards would actually do the trick, or how to implement them). This is my search query: results = SearchQuerySet().filter(content='Sri Ragh')

  • Why would a error get thrown inside my try-catch?

    I'm pushing a copy of our application over to a new dev server (IIS7) and the application is blowing up on a line inside of a try-catch block. It doesn't happen locally, it actually obey's the rules of a try-catch block, go figure. Any idea why this would be happening? Shouldn't it just be failing silently? Is there something environmental I need to enable/disable? Exception Details: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.     Hi. I run this script to search particular text in sys.columns and I get a lot of "dbo.syncobj_0x3934443438443332" this kind of result. SELECT c.name, s.name + '.' + o.name FROM sys.columns c INNER JOIN sys.objects o ON c.object_id=o.object_id INNER JOIN sys.schemas s ON o.schema_id=s.schema_id WHERE c.name LIKE '%text%' If I get it right, they are replication objects. Is it so? Can i just throw them away from my query just like o.name NOT LIKE '%syncobj%' or there's another way? Thank you.

    Given an arbitary polygon with vertices stored in either clockwise/counterclockwise fashion (depicted as a black rectangle in the diagram), I need to be able to subtract an arbitrary number of circles (in red on the diagram) from that polygon. Removing a circle could possibly split the polygon into two seperate polygons (as depicted by the second line in the diagram).   • NerdDinner difficulties

    Hello guys, I'm having a problem with the Create method of the NerdDinner tutorial, which is very good BTW. As you can see here http://nerddinnerbook.s3.amazonaws.com/Part5.htm in the Create method, he removed the ID field of the aspx page. I did that too, but I cannot add any dinners because I get a primary key violation. How is NerdDinner controlling the ids of each dinner? I revised the tutorial and could not see any references to identity fields on SQL database. I even created a method to get me the highest id in the table: public int GetHighestDinnerId() { int resultado = (from dinner in dataContext.Dinners select dinner.DinnerId).Max(); return resultado; } which does not work either.     I'm not even sure what this principle is called or how to search for it, so I sincerely apologize if it has been brought up before, but the best way to do it is with an example. class Properties { public string Name { get; set; } } class MyClass { class SubProperties: Properties { public override Name { get { return GetActualName(); } set { _value = SetActualName(value); } } } public SubProperties ClassProperties; private GetActualName() { ClassProperties.Name = "name"; } private SetActualName(string s) { ClassProperties.Name = SomeOtherFunction(s); } } The idea is to have any object that instantiates MyClass have a fully accessible property ClassProperties. To that object, it would look exactly like a Properties object, but behind the scenes, MyClass is actually computing and modifying the results of the fields. This method of declaration is obviously wrong since I can't access GetActualName() and SetActualName() from within the SubProperties definition. How would I achieve something like this?

    I have a list of galleries, when you click on the title of a gallery it pulls in the contents (HTML with images). When the content is pulled in it preloads the html but not the images, any ideas?   • Why are $_POST variables getting escaped in PHP?

    When my PHP script receives data from an AJAX POST request, the $_POST variables are escaped. The really strange thing is that this only happens on my production server (running PHP 5.2.12 on Linux) and not on my local server (running PHP 5.3.1 on Windows).   • iPhone: UIImageView not showing images

    Hello, I've got UIImageView drawn in my nib-file and it's connected to a imageView iboutlet. I can load single pictures which will show up very nicely, but when it comes to drawing many images separately as like an animation, images won't show. I've got drawImage() function which takes NSData-objects(image data) and draws it to a screen(imageView). Main function has got for loop which loops 300 times as quickly as it can and each time it calls that drawImage function and passes different image data to it. Sometimes when I execute this code, last picture from that "animation" shows up, sometimes not at all. Maybe I need to schedule enough time for imageView so that the image can be shown? Hope someone has some clues. Thanks in advance!

    Hello! I would really appreciate if you could shed light on this problem. I have 2 images, one was created from TIF file with metadata, the other is an in-memory image that will be saved as jpeg. Then I use this routine to transfer exif metadata from first image to the second one (that is from the one created from tif file to the in-memory image): For Each _p In image1.PropertyItems image2.SetPropertyItem(_p) Next And this works perfectly fine. All exif items are successfully copied. I confirmed this by using watches in debug mode. The problem comes when you save image2 as jpeg using this: Dim eps As EncoderParameters = New EncoderParameters(1) eps.Param(0) = New EncoderParameter(Encoder.Quality, 85) Dim ici As ImageCodecInfo = GetEncoderInfo("image/jpeg") image2.Save("C:\1.jpg", ici, eps) Only very few EXIF properties are saved with image2 jpeg file however, namely only camera model and camera maker. However If I save image2 as TIF, all properties from the original tif will be there. Can anyone explain why is that? Thanks.

I'm sure there's a simple answer, but I'm just learning elisp and it's not obvious. Any insight into where filename is defined? And/or if it's not a function, what is it?   • Where is the default language data stored in OS 10.6

    From a shell in 10.4 or 10.5, I was able to do this: /usr/bin/defaults read NSGlobalDomain AppleLanguages To get the list of the language preference for that particular machine. This was done so that I could restore it back to that list after changing it with the 'defaults write' command to something else (in order to help automate l10n testing). Now, along comes OS 10.6, and AppleLanguages is nowhere in any of our defaults domains. I know that I can alter it for each running application by altering their specific property lists...but at the cost of more complexity. Also, some of the apps I have under test here are installer packages...and It's a real pain to change stuff (like the .plist I'd have to change here) in those without being somewhat destructive; that's why I chose to do it globally in the first place. Anyways, it'd be great if I could find where they stashed it now...or if they deprecated it (like a zillion other things in OS 10.6) completely.

    I have a workspace with two projects in it. One is a static library (we'll call it Project A). The other is a console app that links with the static library (we'll call it Project B). I went to Project B's properties and checked off Project A as a dependency of Project B. So I make a change to a file in Project A and rebuild Project B. It correctly discovers the changes to the file in Project A and rebuilds Project A. However, when it gets to Project B it says: Target is up to date. Nothing to be done. How can I tell it to run the linker everytime Project A is changed?
