    Hi all, I'd like to gather certain details of an SSL certificate on a particular web-site. I know this is straightforward using the openssl tool on Linux/MacOSX. However is the same or similar possible in JavaScript? I understand that the browser handles socket connections and that the SSL handshake occurs prior to any party sending data. However in an XMLHTTPRequest, I'd like to know if its possible to get these details as some sort of response code etc?

  • How to disable scrollbars with JavaScript?

    I need to lock the browser scrollbars when I show a div that represent a modal window in Internet Explorer 7 only. Googling I found that I can use document.body.style.overflow='hidden' but this doesn't work for IE7. I also tried with document.body.scroll="no" which works but only after I mouse over the scrollbar :-S Does anybody knows a better aproach? Thansks

  • Publishing WCF .NET 3.5 to IIS 6 (Windows Server 2003)

    I've been developing a WCF web service using .NET 3.5 with IIS7 and it works perfectly on my local computer. I tried publishing it to a server running IIS 6 and even though I can view the WSDL in my browser, the client application doesn't seem to be connecting to it correctly. I launched a packet sniffing app (Charles Proxy) and the response for the first message comes back to the client empty (0 bytes). Every message after the first one times out. The WCF service is part of a larger application that uses ASP .NET 3.5. That application has been working fine on IIS 6 for awhile now so I think it's something specific to WCF. I also tried throwing an exception in the SVC file to see if it made it that far and the exception never got thrown so I have a feeling it's something more low level that's not working. Any thoughts? Is there anything I need to install on the IIS5 server? If so how am I still able to view the WSDL in my browser?   • java.io.IOException: Bad DNS address - in opening a HttpConnection

    Hi, I m opening a HttpConnection to a URL. Its working in simulator but when i try it in device, it gives "java.io.IOException: Bad DNS address" while opening the HttpConnection. I serached the forums but havent got the solution yet. That URL is opening in Blackberry device Internet Browser but not getting the HttpConnection (HttpConnection is coming NULL) when i try through my code.

  • SQLite in android

    Hi, My android application uses an sqlite database and during first run it deletes some rows . The next time it runs it tries to do the same , but because the rows were previously deleted it fails . I use SQLite database browser to inspect the database ,after first run (when the rows are deleted) and I observe that the rows that no longer should exist are still in the database , even if ehwn running the app again those rows are no longer visible ! What is the cause for this behavior ?

    I am loading an html page into a WebBrowser object in a VB.NET Windows Forms application. The user may make changes to textboxes, dropdowns, etc. on the HTML page displayed in the browser. I want the ability to save the current context to a .pdf file on the local HD. I am able to print using WebBrowser.Print(), which shows the current context, but what ways are possible to get this saved as a PDF file locally?

    I notice that when using my touch-screen smartphone (no physical keyboard) that when an app asks for an email address to be entered in a textbox, the on screen keyboard is modified slightly to provide specialized keys that enter blocks of text, like '.com' or push some characters to the foreground key, like '@'. Is there an HTML attribute or style that I can add to my HTML input boxes that will tell the smartphone/browser to provide these specialized keys?

The problem is that the application is crashing and my only was to access the application is through the mysterious (*.ddb) file (99% of the application size.)     I'm using Windows Media Player in a web page. I have version 11 installed so that is the version I'm testing with right now. The player is embedded on the page with this HTML: <OBJECT id='MS_mediaPlayer' width="400" height="45" classid='CLSID:6BF52A52-394A-11D3-B153-00C04F79FAA6' codebase='http://activex.microsoft.com/activex/controls/mplayer/en/nsmp2inf.cab#Version=5,1,52,701' standby='Loading Microsoft Windows Media Player components...' type='application/x-oleobject'> <param name='autoStart' value="false"> <param name='uiMode' value="invisible"> <param name='loop' value="false"> </OBJECT> I'm calling in JavaScript: MS_mediaPlayer.URL = "SomeAudioFile.mp3" MS_mediaPlayer.controls.play(); When I look at Fiddler I can see that the player actually downloads "SomeAudioFile.mp3" twice. Is there some setting I have wrong? I was trying to set the "autoPlay" to true and avoid calling "play()". Got the same result - two downloads. UPDATE: The first request's user-agent is "Windows-Media-Player/11.0.5721.5268". The second has "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1; GTB6; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.0.04506.30; .NET CLR 3.0.04506.648; .NET CLR 3.5.21022; .NET CLR 3.0.4506.2152; .NET CLR 3.5.30729)". Looks like the browser is running the same request the second time. No Idea why Any ideas? UPDATE (4/1/10): Still no solution. I debugged the JS thoroughly and there is only one call to MediaPlayer.URL='.....' to set the audio file. Nothing else triggers the media player to load the file and there is no other place referencing the audio file on the page. One other interesting fact is that this doesn't happen (the double loading of the audio) when I run the browser locally on my development web server. But other remote requests to the same web server generate the double audio loading. I believe I eliminated any correlation with specific IE version or media player version. This happens with IE6-8 and WM9-12

  • Web P2P video confrence solution

    I'm looking for the best possible solution which will allow me to incorporate live video/audio conference between 2 users(only 2 at this point) into a flash gaming platform. The video chat is not just an extra feature, it's the main one. I'm mainly looking at open source implementations or something I'll be able to implement myself, but will consider commercial products if they are exactly what I need. Here are a few things I've looked at, but so far, I didn't find any of them good enough: Flash player 10's P2P capabilities sound promising, but I am aware of the fact that Adobe has not release any information on the RTMFP protocol and that there is no commercial server which supports it at this point. Stream all the video/audio live through a flash server (not p2p), but from my personal experience you don't get a smooth conversation. I think TokBox uses this method Java applets are a possible solution too (to perform p2p), but I don't think it will be a nice and elegant solution to combine them in the game at this point (and requires the user to authorize them). BTW, I couldn't find any useful implementations. So, If you know of any, i'll look into them. Google Gmail Video Chat uses a custom (and proprietary) browser plug-in which does the p2p and streams the video/audio into the flash player. This is a possible solution, but I rather not implement the entire p2p protocol stack + browser plug-in at this stage and concentrate on other aspect of the game itself. I think they are using XMPP based protocol similar to Jingle and they've release a Jingle librarby but without the video confrencing implementation. EDIT: In response to Branden: I am aware of Adobe Stratus. Stratus is a beta, hosted rendezvous service that aids establishing communications between Flash Player endpoints (RTMFP server). This current release of the Stratus is prerelease and is designed for evaluation purposes only. The service is not final. There is no guarantee that the service will continue to exist in the future or any information about the future cost. That's why I don't think it can be used as a commercial solution. At least not yet. I'd appreciate your suggestions and advice. thanks!
