  • How to solve this nullPointer Exception in jasper report?

    Hi, I am new to jasper report, I need to create pdf document with BeanDatasource and subreport. I refer the following blog " http://knol.google.com/k/jasper-reports-working-with-beans-and-sub-report# " . I followed all the steps perfectly. While i am running the report using IReport i can get the pdf document with the content.   • How to support 3-byte UTF-8 Characters in ANT

    I am trying to support UTF-8 characters in my ANT script. As long as the character string are made up of 2-byte UTF-8 characters, such as: Lògìñ Ùsèr ÌÐ Then things work fine. When I use Unicode Han Character: ? Which, according to this site: http://www.fileformat.info/info/unicode/char/6211/index.htm Has a UTF-8 encoding of 0xE6 0x88 0x91 I can see in UltraEdit, my input properties file has the values "E6 88 91" all in a row, so I'm fairly confident that my input is correct. And When I open the same file in Notepad++ I can see all the characters correctly.   • properties-maven-plugin: Error loading properties-file

    I want to extract all the properties from my pom.xml into a properties-file. These are the common properties like dependency-versions, plugin-versions and directories. I'm using the properties-maven-plugin, but its not working as i want it to. The essential part of my pom.xml: <plugin> <groupId>org.codehaus.mojo</groupId> <artifactId>properties-maven-plugin</artifactId> <version>1.0-alpha-1</version> <executions> <execution> <phase>initialize</phase> <goals> <goal>read-project-properties</goal> </goals> <configuration> <files> <file>${basedir}/pom.properties</file> </files> </configuration> </execution> </executions> </plugin> Now when i run "mvn properties:read-project-properties" i get the following error: [INFO] One or more required plugin parameters are invalid/missing for 'properties:read-project-properties' [0] Inside the definition for plugin 'properties-maven-plugin' specify the following: <configuration> ... <files>VALUE</files> </configuration>.   • Why doesn't Data Driven Subscription in SSRS 2005 like my Stored Procedure?

    I'm trying to define a Data Driven Subscription for a report in SSRS 2005. In Step 3 of the set up you're asked for: " a command or query that returns a list of recipients and optionally returns fields used to vary delivery settings and report parameter values for each recipient" This I have written and it returns the data without a hitch. I press next and it rolls onto the next screen in the set up which has all the variables to set for the DDS and in each case it has an option to "Select Value From Database" I select this radio button and press the drop down. No fields are available to me. Now the only way I could vary the number of parameters returned by the SP was to have the SP write the SQL to an nvarchar variable and then at the end execute the variable as sql. I have tested this in the Management Studio and it returns the expected fields. I even named them after the fields in SSRS but the thing won't put the field names into the dropdowns. I've even taken the query body out of the Stored Proc, verified it in SSRS and then tried that. It doesn't work either. Can anyone shed any light into what I'm doing wrong?

    We've been given a "stored procedure" from our RPG folks that returns six data tables. Attempting to call it from .NET (C#, 3.5) using the iSeries Provider for .NET (tried using both V5R4 and V6R1), we are seeing different results based on how we call the stored proc. Here's way that we'd prefer to do it: using (var dbConnection = new iDB2Connection("connectionString")) { dbConnection.Open(); using(var cmd = dbConnection.CreateCommand()) { cmd.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure; cmd.CommandText = "StoredProcName"; cmd.Parameters.Add(new iDB2Parameter("InParm1", iDB2DbType.Varchar).Value = thing; var ds = new DataSet(); var da = new iDB2DataAdapter(cmd); da.Fill(ds); } } Doing it this way, we get FIVE tables back in the result set. However, if we do this: cmd.CommandType = CommandType.Text; cmd.CommandText = "CALL StoredProcName('" + thing + "')"; We get back the expected SIX tables. I realize that there aren't many of us sorry .NET-to-DB2 folks out here, but I'm hoping someone has seen this before. TIA.

    I've got code that makes a simple get request to Twitter (search) using jQuery's ajax method. The code works fine on Safari, but fails on Firefox (3.6.3). In the Firefox case, my jQuery.ajax parameters 'success' method is invoked, but the supplied data is null. (In Safari, I receive a boatload of JSON data). I am aware of a similar post on Stack Overflow: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1188976/jquery-get-function-succeeds-with-200-but-returns-no-content-in-firefox and from that would assume this problem is possibly related to cross-domain security, but... I know there are many JS widgets and whatnots that ajax get data from Twitter. Is there something I need to enable to allow this?

  • Getting Response from TIdHttp with Error Code 400

    I have been writing a Delphi library for StackApps API. I have run into a problem with Indy. I am using the version that ships with Delphi 2010. If you pass invalid parameters to one of the StackApps API it will return a HTTP Error Code 400 and then in the response it will contain a JSON object with more details. By visiting http://api.stackoverflow.com/0.8/stats/?Key=BadOnPurpose in Chrome Browser you can see an Example. I.E. and Firefox hide the JSON. Using WireShark I can see that the JSON object is returned using the code below, but I am unable to access it using Indy. For this test code I dropped a TIdHttp component on the form and placed the following code in a button click. procedure TForm10.Button2Click(Sender: TObject); var SS : TStringStream; begin SS := TStringStream.Create; IdHTTP1.Get('http://api.stackoverflow.com/0.8/stats/?Key=BadOnPurpose',SS,[400]); Memo1.Lines.Text := SS.DataString; SS.Free; end; I passed [400] so that it would not raise the 400 exception. It is as if Indy stopped reading the response. As the contents of Memo1 are empty. I am looking for a way to get the JSON Details.

  • ASP.NET MVC model binding with nested child models and PartialViews

    I have a model called Page, which has a property called Content of type EditableContent. EditableContent have SidebarLeft and SidebarRight (type TemplateSection). I want to edit the Page instance, in my Edit.aspx view. Because EditableContent is also attached to other models, I have a PartialView called ContentEditor.ascx that is strongly typed and takes an instance of EditableContent and renders it. The rendering part all works fine, but when I post - everything inside my ContentEditor is not binded - which means that Page.Content is null. On the PartialView, I use the strongly typed Html Helpers to do this: <%= Html.HiddenFor(m => m.TemplateId) %> And so on. But because the input elements on the form, rendered by ContentEditor.ascx, does not get the "Content" prefix to its id attribute - the values are not binded to Page. So to overcome this, I've definitely done the wrong thing. Used loosely typed Html Helpers instead: <%= Html.Hidden("Content.TemplateId", Model.TemplateId) %> And when I'm dealing with a property that is a List of something it gets very ugly. I then have to render collection indexes manually... doh What am I missing here? A BindPrefix in the controller action that the Form is being posted to? Should I put both Page and EditableContent as parameters to the controller action: public ActionResult Edit(Page page, EditableContent content) { ... } Any help is much appreciated!

  • Windows services with windows forms in the same process

    Hello, I have a c# application that runs as a windows service controlling socket connections and other things. Also, there is another windows forms application to control and configure this service (systray with start, stop, show form with configuration parameters). I'm using .net remoting to do the IPC and that was fine, but now I want to show some real traffic and other reports and remoting will not meet my performance requirements. So I want to combine both applications in one. Here is the problem: When I started the form from the windows service, nothing happened. Googling around I've found that I have to right click the service, go to Log on and check the "Allow service to interact with desktop" option. Since I don't want to ask my users to do that, I got some code googling again to set this option in the user's regedit during installation time. The problem is that even setting this option, it doesn't work. I have to open the Log On options of the service (it is checked), uncheck and check again. So, how to solve that? How is the best way to have a windows service with a systray control in the same process, available to any user logging in? UPDATE: Thanks for the comments so far, guys. I agree it is better to use IPC and I know that it is bad to mix windows services and user interfaces. Even though, I want to know how to do that.

    I just began to use this and I already stumbled on some from-my-side-strange errors. I am using RestFB jar. My problem is, that I can not get my session key (this is the start of everything :)). Parameter.with("null,"null") is there because it demands at least one, but method for creating token doesn't expect any.   • ant ftp doesn't download files in subdirectories

    Hello, I'm trying to download files in subdirectories from an ftp server with ant. The exact set of files is known. Some of them are in subdirectories. Ant only seems to download the ones in the root directory. It does work if I download all files without listing them. The first ftp action should do the exact same thing as the second. Instead it complains about "Hidden files" and seems to prefix the paths with "\\". Does anyone know what's wrong here?   • Unable to debug XBAP with Visual Studio 2010

    Just migrated my project to Visual Studio 2010, but target framework was left 3.5. Project contains an XBAP app in partial trust and a bunch of WCF services. Debugging is configured to start PresentationHost.exe with -debug and -debugSecurityZoneUrl parameters. Under VS2008 everything works fine, and in VS2010 Beta2 (don't sure about RC), but under VS2010 RTM debugging is for some reason doesn't working. Application runs, but doesn't hit any breakpoint. And if for example exception occurs, message box appears "Do you wish to debug or close..." and after I choose "debug" option new weird message box appears: --------------------------- Warning --------------------------- A debugger is attached to PresentationHost.exe but not configured to debug this unhandled exception. To debug this exception, detach the current debugger. An unhandled exception was raised from Microsoft .NET Framework v 1.0, 1.1, or 2.0, but the current debugger is configured to debug Microsoft .NET Framework v4.0 code. Examine the exception using the SOS tool. --------------------------- OK --------------------------- And where is the vaunted multitargeting? Did anyone have already bumped into same issue? UPDATE: Tried to debug with "Start browser with URL" option. Debugging is working, but I get SecurityException. So it is possible, just need to figure out how to make it work with "Start external program" option.   • Problem retrieving Strings from varbinary columns using HIbernate and MySQL

    Hello, Here's my scenario. I save a bunch of Strings containing asian characters in MySQL using Hibernate. These strings are written in varbinary columns. Everything works fine during the saving operation. The DB contains the correct values (sequence of bytes). If I query (again using Hibernate) for the Strings that I saved I get the correct results. But when Hibernate fills the entity to which the Strings belong with the values from the DB I get different values then the ones I used in the query that retrieved them. Instead of receiving the correct values I receive a bunch of FFFD replacement characters. For example: if I store "??" in the DB and then I query for it, the resulting String will be \uFFFD\uFFFD\uFFFD\uFFFD\uFFFD\uFFFD. the DB connection has the following parameters set useUnicode=true&characterEncoding=UTF-8, I've tried using the true UTF-8 configurations for Hibernate but that didn't solve the problem What am I missing? Any suggestions? Thanks

  • jQuery AJAX request (Rails 3) gets redirected and returns empty message body (only with SSL)!

    I'm trying to do a manual jQuery AJAX request the following way: $("#user_plan_id").change(function() { $("#plan_container").load('/plans/' + this.value); }); I have the "rails.js" file included in my header, and a "<%= csrf_meta_tag %". I see from my log that the request IS getting to the server (although without the authenticity token... does rails.js even do this?), but the response is a 302 (Found) rather than 200, and no data actually gets rendered. Any ideas? Edit: I now see that the first request redirects, and the proper partial gets rendered on the redirect. However, the 2nd response's body (on the client-side) is still empty. I'm guessing jQuery uses the first response and doesn't have a listener set up for the redirect. How do I get around this? Also, another note: the page doing the requesting is an HTTPS page.   • Why is EXC_BAD_ACCESS so unhelpful?

    First let me say I come from a background in Flash/AS3, which I realize is not as strict about most things as iPhone/Objective-C. I suspect my question actually applies to AS3 as well, but let me ask it as pertaining to Obj-c. Why is the error EXC_BAD_ACCESS, and others like it, so unhelpful? I realize that it normally means mismanagement of memory somewhere, but why can't it tell you more about the problem. For instance why doesn't it say "EXC_BAD_ACCESS, you tried to pass pointer suchAndSuch on line 123, however you're an idiot, because you released it on line 69 so it's not available anymore"? I realize I can use the debugger to get more clues about where my error occurred, but many times this is only marginally helpful. For instance sometimes none of the messages in the stack/thread/whatever are even my code. Other times it is my code but on the top of the stack will be a message that has 4+ parameters, ok thanks debugger you narrowed it down to 4 possible pointers by why can't you just tell me which one!? I'm guessing there's just some fundamental explanation that I missed because of the background I came from, not needing to worry about memory and such. Although there is an error that can happen a lot in AS3 development that is equally mysterious and along the same lines. "Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference" which almost always means a variable you were expecting to be holding something is actually null. Why doesn't it tell me WHICH variable?!

    Some questions: * Is there some way to view the data present in the iPhone keychain? * The items an application adds, cannot be accessed by any other application, can it? * What is the purpose of the identifier and access group in the initialization? My guess is that the identifier is simply used to find items but I'm a little bit unsure of the access group. If the access group is assigned nil, all applications can access the items? If the access group is assigned X, could the items be accessed by another application with the same string X as access group or what is the purpose of the access group in this case? * Is the data in the keychain removed when the application is removed? If not, how do I achieve that? And finally: I can't get the KeychainItemWrapper (Apple example) to work. I've added the KeychainItemWrapper files to my project and when running it on the phone, an exception is thrown by SecItemAdd, saying that one or more parameters were not valid (result code -50).     Hey, I'm doing a project which is going to run on Websphere. I'm using JSF/Facelets/Richfaces for this project. I want to use the JBoss EL implementation as it allows calling methods with parameters from EL etc. ... usually this is accomplished by getting the JBoss EL jar and then putting this in the web.xml: <context-param> <param-name>com.sun.faces.expressionFactory</param-name> <param-value>org.jboss.el.ExpressionFactoryImpl</param-value> </context-param> However this isn't working ... I don't know if its a problem with Websphere or ...???   • Yet another Subversion "Commit failed" MERGE of 'blabla': 200 OK

    Hi! I get the infamous "MERGE of 'whatever': 200 OK" whenever I try to commit using a post-commit hook on Windows (running the repository and Trac locally), and I'm going crazy. I've been looking all over for a day now, without finding any solutions. So here's how it's set up and what I've tried so far: Settings: Windows 7 (64-bit) VisualSVN Server TortoiseSVN Trac 0.11.6 I'm using the three standard scripts for post-commit on Windows. Everything works when I run post-commit.cmd from the command prompt with repo and changesetnumber as parameters. After extensive trouble-shooting, I found that if I remove the last line in trac-post-commit.cmd, Python "%~dp0\trac-post-commit-hook.py" -p "%TRAC_ENV%" -r "%REV%" -u "%AUTHOR%" -m "%LOG%", the Commit failed error goes away. Adding 1/0 (generating a division by zero error) in the python script doesn't show anything different. From the command prompt I get an error, though. Removing all code in the python script also makes the commit failed go away, so I guess the culprit is in trac-post-commit-hook.py.     I have written the following simple test in trying to learn Castle Windsor's Fluent Interface: using NUnit.Framework; using Castle.Windsor; using System.Collections; using Castle.MicroKernel.Registration; namespace WindsorSample { public class MyComponent : IMyComponent { public MyComponent(int start_at) { this.Value = start_at; } public int Value { get; private set; } } public interface IMyComponent { int Value { get; } } [TestFixture] public class ConcreteImplFixture { [Test] public void ResolvingConcreteImplShouldInitialiseValue() { IWindsorContainer container = new WindsorContainer(); container.Register(Component.For<IMyComponent>().ImplementedBy<MyComponent>().Parameters(Parameter.ForKey("start_at").Eq("1"))); IMyComponent resolvedComp = container.Resolve<IMyComponent>(); Assert.AreEqual(resolvedComp.Value, 1); } } } When I execute the test through TestDriven.NET I get the following error: System.TypeLoadException : Could not load type 'Castle.MicroKernel.Registration.IRegistration' from assembly 'Castle.MicroKernel, Version=1.0.3.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=407dd0808d44fbdc'. at WindsorSample.ConcreteImplFixture.ResolvingConcreteImplShouldInitialiseValue() When I execute the test through the NUnit GUI I get: WindsorSample.ConcreteImplFixture.ResolvingConcreteImplShouldInitialiseValue: System.IO.FileNotFoundException : Could not load file or assembly 'Castle.Windsor, Version=1.0.3.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=407dd0808d44fbdc' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. If I open the Assembly that I am referencing in Reflector I can see its information is: Castle.MicroKernel, Version=1.0.3.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=407dd0808d44fbdc and that it definitely contains Castle.MicroKernel.Registration.IRegistration What could be going on? I should mention that the binaries are taken from the latest build of Castle though I have never worked with nant so I didn't bother re-compiling from source and just took the files in the bin directory. I should also point out that my project compiles with no problem.

  • 'click' observer in Prototype

    I have a page which contains several divs (each with a unique ID and the same class, 'parent'). Underneath each "parent" div, is a div with class "child" and unique ID name -child. This DIV is upon page load empty. Whenever you click on a parent DIV, the following code is executed. $$('div.parent').each(function(s){ $(s).observe('click', function(event){ event.stop(); var filer = $(s).readAttribute('filer'); var currentElement = $(s).id; var childElement = currentElement + '-children'; new Ajax.Updater ({success: childElement}, root + '/filers/interfacechildren', { parameters: {parentId: currentElement, filer: filer} }); }); }); Of course, it's possible that a child node is again a parent ont its own. The response looks like this (Smarty with Zend Framework): {foreach from=$ifaces item=interface} <div id="{$interface->name}" filer="{$interface->system_id}" class="parent">{$interface->name}</div> <div id="{$interface->name}-children" class="child"></div> {/foreach} Whenever I click on a "parent" div that is loaded inside a child, nothing happens :( Any suggestions / fixes how to fix this?

  • Grails Mail port configuration

    Hello, I am trying to send mail through grails mail plugin. I configured according to the documentation, and also followed few blog posts (http://blog.lourish.com/2010/04/02/sending-asynchronous-html-email-in-grails-with-activemq-jms-and-gmail/). That post mention that the closure way of declaring the configuration overrides others, but not true. Anyway I tried both approach, but seems like the port is still use the smtp default one. I get the below exception. exception: org.springframework.mail.MailSendException: Mail server connection failed; nested exception is javax.mail.MessagingException: Could not connect to SMTP host: localhost, port: 25; nested exception is: java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect Now, I wrote a small program directly using the java mail library, and I could send the mail with that. The configuration is shown below. tried additional config "mail.smtp.port":"465"", but no change.. used the parameters mentioned in the above blog post, result same grails { mail { host = "smtp.gmail.com" port = "465" username = "[email protected]" password = "mypwd" props = ["mail.smtp.auth":"true", // "mail.smtp.port":"465", "mail.smtp.socketFactory.port":"465", "mail.smtp.socketFactory.class":"javax.net.ssl.SSLSocketFactory", "mail.smtp.socketFactory.fallback":"false"] } } thanks in advance.. Update: It is not port or firewall config, as when I made a grails application from scratch, and tried with the same config, everything works. Also, asked in grails forum http://grails.1312388.n4.nabble.com/grails-mail-mailSender-does-not-have-config-values-td2237704.html#a2237704 . Hope get a lead to try.

  • ASP Classic page quit working

    I've had a set of legacy pages running on my IIS7 server for at least a year. Sometime last week something changed and now this line: Response.Write CStr(myRS(0).name) & "=" & Cstr(myRS(0).value) which used to return nothing more exciting than the string: 'Updated=true' (the sproc processing input params, stores them to a table, checks for errors and when that's all done returns a success code by executing this statement: select 'true' as [Updated] Now my pageside error handler is being involved and offers: myError=Error from /logQuizScore.asp Error source: Microsoft VBScript runtime error Error number: 13 Error description: Type mismatch Important to note that all lots of pages use the same framework - same db, same coding format, connecitonstrings and (so far as I can tell) all others are working. Troubleshot to this point: The call to the stored procedure is working correctly (stuff is stored to the given table). The output from the stored procedure is working correctly (i can execute a direct call with the given parameters and stuff works. I can see profiler calling and passing. I can replace all code with 'select 'true' as updated' and the error is the same. everything up to the response.write statement above is correct. So something changed how ADO renders that particular recordset. So i try: Response.Write myRS.Item.count and get: Error number: 424 Error description: Object required The recordset object seems not to be instantiating but the command object _did execute. Repeat - lots of other pages just the same basic logic to hit other sprocs without a problem. full code snippet set cmd1 = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Command") cmd1.ActiveConnection = MM_cnCompliance4_STRING cmd1.CommandText = "dbo._usp_UserAnswers_INSERT" ... cmd1.CommandType = 4 cmd1.CommandTimeout = 0 cmd1.Prepared = true set myRS = cmd1.Execute Response.Write CStr(myRS(0).name) & "=" & Cstr(myRS(0).value)
