  • Is there a way to forward emails associated with a domain without a mail server?

    A client owns example1.com but wants to also purchase example2.com and have it point to their original site at example1.com. No problem there. But they also want any emails going to example2.com to be forwarded to their counter parts at example1.com Eg: if someone emails [email protected] it will be forwarded to [email protected] They only way I can think of doing this at the moment is to set up host for example2.com and then set up mail forwarders in cpanel. But this seems a bit excessive and costly. Does anyone know another, cheaper way of doing this?

  • How to split currently used partition on Ubuntu server?

    I would like to split a currently used partition that is mounted to /usr directory. I did this because / only had 1 gb of data allocated to it. Now, I did not account for the /home directory when I made this partition (or I would have made two partitions). So I have 14 gb mounted to usr/ with 12 gb free. Is there a way I can reclaim the free space on this partition to make another partition to mount to /home? Here is the result of a df -h: I have tried to split the /dev/mmcblk1p4 into 2 different partitions but I was not able to save the partition table correctly.

  • my server suddenly crashes every 2 days or so. Programmer has no idea, please help find the cause, here is the top

    Every couple of days my server suddenly crashes and I must request hardware reset at data center to get it back running. Today I came back to my shell and saw the server was dead and "top" was running on it, and see below for the "top" right before the crash. I opened /var/log/messages and scrolled to the reboot time and see nothing, no errors prior to the hard reboot. (I checked in /etc/syslog.conf and I see "*.info;mail.none;authpriv.none;cron.none /var/log/messages" , isn't this good enough to log all problems?) Usually when I look at the top, the swap is never used up like this! I also don't know why mysqld is at 323% cpu (server only runs drupal and its never slow or overloaded). Solver is my application. I don't know whats that 'sh' doing and 'dovecot' doing.   • Transferring HashMap between client and server using Sockets (JAVA)

    I am working on a JAVA project in which there are multiple terminals. These terminals act as client and servers. For example if there are 3 terminals A,B and C.Then at any given point in time one of them say A, will be a client making broadcast request. The other two terminals, B and C, will reply. I am using sockets to make them communicate. Once the reply is received from all the other terminals A will check the pool of channels to see if any one of the channel is free. It takes up the free channel and making it availabilty false. The channelpool is implemented using HashMAp: HashMap channelpool = new HashMap(); channelpool = 1=true, 2=true, 3=false, 4=true, 5=true, 6=true, 7=true, 8=true, 9=true, 10=true So initially all the channels are true, any terminal can take any channel. But once the channel is taken it is set to false for the period of use and then reset to true. Now this Hashmap has to be shared among the distributed terminals. Also it should be kept up to date. I can not used a shared resource among the terminals to store the HashMap.Can someone tell me an easy way to transfer the HashMap between the terminals. I will appreciate if someone could point me to a website which discusses this.

    I have a Classic ASP page that creates a CDO.Message object to send email. The code works on Window Server 2003 but not 2008. On 2008 an "Access is denied" error gets thrown. Here is a simple test page I wrote to diagnose the problem.     Hi! Silverstripe is running on my since a few weeks. Recently, I get an Internal Server Error message when I try to access the admin area. Having a look in the server's error logs, I discovered following hint: [Mon Apr 05 12:15:26 2010] [error] [client ...] Premature end of script headers: main.php I already was refered to this site: What does the 'premature end of script headers' error mean? But does anybody had this problem in connection with Silverstripe? Would make it much easier to restrict the scope from where the error is caused. Regards, Benedikt

    Hello everyone, I am using SQL Server 2008 Enterprise. Under logs folder, in my machine it is C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQL\Log, there are three kinds of files, ERRORLOG, ERRORLOG.1, ERRORLOG.2 ... ERRORLOG.6; FDLAUNCHERRORLOG, FDLAUNCHERRORLOG.1, FDLAUNCHERRORLOG.2, ... FDLAUNCHERRORLOG.6; log_207.trc, log_208.trc, ... My question is what are the differnet function of such log files? And why there are files ends with .1, .2, etc? thanks in advance, George
