  • c# WebRequest to connect to wikipedia API

    - by NickJ
    Hey, This may be a pathetically simple problem but I cannot seem to format the post webrequest/response to get data from the wikipedia api. I have posted my code below if anyone can help me see my problem. string pgTitle = txtPageTitle.Text; Uri address = new Uri("http://en.wikipedia.org/w/api.php"); HttpWebRequest request = WebRequest.Create(address) as HttpWebRequest; request.Method = "POST"; request.ContentType = "application/x-www-form-urlencoded"; string action = "query"; string query = pgTitle; StringBuilder data = new StringBuilder(); data.Append("action=" + HttpUtility.UrlEncode(action)); data.Append("&query=" + HttpUtility.UrlEncode(query)); byte[] byteData = UTF8Encoding.UTF8.GetBytes(data.ToString()); request.ContentLength = byteData.Length; using (Stream postStream = request.GetRequestStream()) { postStream.Write(byteData, 0, byteData.Length); } using (HttpWebResponse response = request.GetResponse() as HttpWebResponse) { // Get the response stream StreamReader reader = new StreamReader(response.GetResponseStream()); divWikiData.InnerText = reader.ReadToEnd(); }

  • LINQ to Entities exceptions (ElementAtOrDefault and CompareObjectEqual)

    - by OffApps Cory
    I am working on a shipping platform which will eventually automate shipping through several major carriers. I have a ShipmentsView Usercontrol which displayes a list of Shipments (returned by EntityFramework), and when a user clicks on a shipment item, it spawns a ShipmentEditView and passes the ShipmentID (RecordKey) to that view. I initially wrestled with trying to get the context from the parent (ShipmentsView) and finally gave up resolving to get to it later. I wanted to do this to keep a single instance of the context. anyhow, I now create a new instance of the context in my ShipmentEditViewModel, and query against it for the Shipment record. I know I could just pass the record, but I wanted to use the Ocean Framework that Karl Shifflett wrote and don't want to muck about writing new transition methods. So anyhow, I query and when stepping through, I can see that it returns a record, as soon as execution reached the point where it assigned the query result to the e.Result property, it throws up the following exception depending on the query I used. LINQToEntities Dim RecordID As Decimal = CDec(e.Argument) Dim myResult = From ship In _Context.Shipment _ Where ship.ShipID = e.Argument _ Select ship Select Case myResult.Count Case 0 e.Result = New Shipment Case 1 e.Result = myResult(0) Case Else e.Result = Nothing End Select "LINQ to Entities does not recognize the method 'System.Object.CompareObjectEqual(System.Object, System.Object, Boolean)' method, and this method cannot be translated into a store expression. LINQToEntities via Method calls Dim RecordID As Decimal = CDec(e.Argument) Dim myResult = _Context.Shipment.Where(Function(s) s.ShipID = RecordID) Select Case myResult.Count Case 0 e.Result = New Shipment Case 1 e.Result = myResult(0) Case Else e.Result = Nothing End Select LINQ to Entities does not recognize the method 'SnazzyShippingDAL.Shipment ElementAtOrDefault[Shipment] (System.Linq.IQueryable`1[SnazzyShippingDAL.Shipment], Int32)' method, and this method cannot be translated into a store expression. I have been trying to get this thing to display a record for like three days. i am seriously thinking about going back and re=-engineering it without the MVVM pattern (which I realize I am only starting to learn and understand) if only to make the &$^%ed thing work. Any help will be muchly appreciated. Cory

  • Ext.data.Store, Javascript Arrays and Ext.grid.ColumnModel

    - by Michael Wales
    I am using Ext.data.Store to call a PHP script which returns a JSON response with some metadata about fields that will be used in a query (unique name, table, field, and user-friendly title). I then loop through each of the Ext.data.Record objects, placing the data I need into an array (this_column), push that array onto the end of another array (columns), and eventually pass this to an Ext.grid.ColumnModel object. The problem I am having is - no matter which query I am testing against (I have a number of them, varying in size and complexity), the columns array always works as expected up to columns[15]. At columns[16], all indexes from that point and previous are filled with the value of columns[15]. This behavior continues until the loop reaches the end of the Ext.data.Store object, when the entire arrays consists of the same value. Here's some code: columns = []; this_column = []; var MetaData = Ext.data.Record.create([ {name: 'id'}, {name: 'table'}, {name: 'field'}, {name: 'title'} ]); // Query the server for metadata for the query we're about to run metaDataStore = new Ext.data.Store({ autoLoad: true, reader: new Ext.data.JsonReader({ totalProperty: 'results', root: 'fields', id: 'id' }, MetaData), proxy: new Ext.data.HttpProxy({ url: 'index.php/' + type + '/' + slug }), listeners: { 'load': function () { metaDataStore.each(function(r) { this_column['id'] = r.data['id']; this_column['header'] = r.data['title']; this_column['sortable'] = true; this_column['dataIndex'] = r.data['table'] + '.' + r.data['field']; // This display valid information, through the entire process console.info(this_column['id'] + ' : ' + this_column['header'] + ' : ' + this_column['sortable'] + ' : ' + this_column['dataIndex']); columns.push(this_column); }); // This goes nuts at columns[15] console.info(columns); gridColModel = new Ext.grid.ColumnModel({ columns: columns });

  • LINQ to Entities pulling back entire table

    - by Focus
    In my application I'm pulling back a user's "feed". This contains all of that user's activities, events, friend requests from other users, etc. When I pull back the feed I'm calling various functions to filter the request along the way. var userFeed = GetFeed(db); // Query to pull back all data userFeed = FilterByUser(userFeed, user, db); // Filter for the user userFeed = SortFeed(userFeed, page, sortBy, typeName); // Sort it The data that is returned is exactly what I need, however when I look at a SQL Profile Trace I can see that the query that is getting this data does not filter it at the database level and instead is selecting ALL data in the table(s). This query does not execute until I iterate through the results on my view. All of these functions return an IEnumerable object. I was under the impression that LINQ would take all of my filters and form one query to pull back the data I want instead of pulling back all the data and then filtering it on the server. What am I doing wrong or what don't I understand about the way LINQ evaluates queries?

  • Problem with Remember Me Service in Spring Security

    - by Gearóid
    Hi, I'm trying to implement a "remember me" functionality in my website using Spring. The cookie and entry in the persistent_logins table are getting created correctly. Additionally, I can see that the correct user is being restored as the username is displayed at the top of the page. However, once I try to access any information for this user when they return after they were "remembered", I get a NullPointerException. It looks as though the user isn't being set in the session again. My applicationContext-security.xml contains the following: <remember-me data-source-ref="dataSource" user-service-ref="userService"/> ... <authentication-provider user-service-ref="userService" /> <jdbc-user-service id="userService" data-source-ref="dataSource" role-prefix="ROLE_" users-by-username-query="select email as username, password, 1 as ENABLED from user where email=?" authorities-by-username-query="select user.id as id, upper(role.name) as authority from user, role, users_roles where users_roles.user_fk=id and users_roles.role_fk=role.name and user.email=?"/> I thought it may have had something to do with users-by-username query but surely login wouldn't work correctly if this query was incorrect? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, gearoid.

  • ASP.Net Entity Framework, objectcontext error

    - by Chris Klepeis
    I'm building a 4 layered ASP.Net web application. The layers are: Data Layer Entity Layer Business Layer UI Layer The entity layer has my data model classes and is built from my entity data model (edmx file) in the datalayer using T4 templates (POCO). The entity layer is referenced in all other layers. My data layer has a class called SourceKeyRepository which has a function like so: public IEnumerable<SourceKey> Get(SourceKey sk) { using (dmc = new DataModelContainer()) { var query = from SourceKey in dmc.SourceKeys select SourceKey; if (sk.sourceKey1 != null) { query = from SourceKey in query where SourceKey.sourceKey1 == sk.sourceKey1 select SourceKey; } return query; } } Lazy loading is disabled since I do not want my queries to run in other layers of this application. I'm receiving the following error when attempting to access the information in the UI layer: The ObjectContext instance has been disposed and can no longer be used for operations that require a connection. I'm sure this is because my DataModelContainer "dmc" was disposed. How can I return this IEnumerable object from my data layer so that it does not rely on the ObjectContext, but solely on the DataModel? Is there a way to limit lazy loading to only occur in the data layer?

  • Why is OracleDataAdapter.Fill() Very Slow?

    - by John Gietzen
    I am using a pretty complex query to retrieve some data out of one of our billing databases. I'm running in to an issue where the query seems to complete fairly quickly when executed with SQL Developer, but does not seem to ever finish when using the OracleDataAdapter.Fill() method. I'm only trying to read about 1000 rows, and the query completes in SQL Developer in about 20 seconds. What could be causing such drastic differences in performance? I have tons of other queries that run quickly using the same function. Here is the code I'm using to execute the query: using Oracle.DataAccess.Client; ... public DataTable ExecuteExternalQuery(string connectionString, string providerName, string queryText) { DbConnection connection = null; DbCommand selectCommand = null; DbDataAdapter adapter = null; switch (providerName) { case "System.Data.OracleClient": case "Oracle.DataAccess.Client": connection = new OracleConnection(connectionString); selectCommand = connection.CreateCommand(); adapter = new OracleDataAdapter((OracleCommand)selectCommand); break; ... } DataTable table = null; try { connection.Open(); selectCommand.CommandText = queryText; selectCommand.CommandTimeout = 300000; selectCommand.CommandType = CommandType.Text; table = new DataTable("result"); table.Locale = CultureInfo.CurrentCulture; adapter.Fill(table); } finally { adapter.Dispose(); if (connection.State != ConnectionState.Closed) { connection.Close(); } } return table; } And here is the general outline of the SQL I'm using: with trouble_calls as ( select work_order_number, account_number, date_entered from work_orders where date_entered >= sysdate - (15 + 31) -- Use the index to limit the number of rows scanned and wo_status not in ('Cancelled') and wo_type = 'Trouble Call' ) select account_number, work_order_number, date_entered from trouble_calls wo where wo.icoms_date >= sysdate - 15 and ( select count(*) from trouble_calls repeat where wo.account_number = repeat.account_number and wo.work_order_number <> repeat.work_order_number and wo.date_entered - repeat.date_entered between 0 and 30 ) >= 1

  • Improve XPath efficiency for repeated, parameterized queries

    - by Chris Allan
    Hi, I am repeatedly performing the following XPath query (though parameterized by 'keywordText') around 40,000 times: String query = SystemGlobal.YAHOO_KEYWORDSSUBNODE + "/" + SystemGlobal.YAHOO_KEYWORDNODE + "[" + SystemGlobal.YAHOO_ATTRKEYPHRASE + "='" + keywordText + "']"; CachedXPathAPI cachedXPathAPI = new CachedXPathAPI(); NodeIterator nl = cachedXPathAPI.selectNodeIterator(doc.getElementsByTagName(SystemGlobal.YAHOO_KEYWORDSROOT).item(0), query); Node n; if ((n = nl.nextNode()) != null) { keyword.setKeywordId(Long.parseLong(cachedXPathAPI.selectSingleNode(n, SystemGlobal.YAHOO_ATTRKEYID).getTextContent())); keyword.setKeyPhrase(cachedXPathAPI.selectSingleNode(n, SystemGlobal.YAHOO_ATTRKEYPHRASE).getTextContent()); keyword.setStatus(mapStatus(cachedXPathAPI.selectSingleNode(n, SystemGlobal.YAHOO_ATTRSTATUS).getTextContent())); keyword.setCampaignId(Long.parseLong(cachedXPathAPI.selectSingleNode(n, "../../" + SystemGlobal.YAHOO_ATTRCAMPAIGNID).getTextContent())); keyword.setAdGroupId(Long.parseLong(cachedXPathAPI.selectSingleNode(n, "../" + SystemGlobal.YAHOO_ATTRADGROUPID).getTextContent())); On the first run of the script, all 40,000 runs of this piece of code will have nl.nextNode() == null, and everything runs quite quickly. However, on the following runs, when nl.nextNode() != null, then things slow down a lot - this takes around an additional 40min to run (whereas the first run takes maybe 1 minute). Oh, and the doc is constructed like so: InputSource in = new InputSource(new FileInputStream(filename)); DocumentBuilderFactory dfactory = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance(); dfactory.setNamespaceAware(true); doc = dfactory.newDocumentBuilder().parse(in); I tried including the following lines reportEvaluator = new XPathEvaluatorImpl(reportDoc); reportResolver = reportEvaluator.createNSResolver(reportDoc); and rather creating a NodeIterator, instead creating an XPathResult: XPathResult result = (XPathResult)reportEvaluator.evaluate(query, doc.getElementsByTagName(SystemGlobal.YAHOO_KEYWORDSROOT).item(0), reportResolver, XPathResult.UNORDERED_NODE_ITERATOR_TYPE, null); however this ran even slower Is there a way in which I can speed up the running of this script? I have seen references to precompiled queries, though I haven't seen many actual details. Also, as seen in the code, I am using CachedXPathAPI, though the benefit for this case is not so great. Any help is much appreciated! Chris Allan

  • JavaScript variable to ColdFusion variable

    - by Alexander
    I have a tricky one. By means of a <cfoutput query="…"> I list some records in the page from a SQL Server database. By the end of each line viewing I try to add this in to a record in a MySQL database. As you see is simple, because I can use the exact variables from the output query in to my new INSERT INTO statement. BUT: the rsPick.name comes from a database with a different character set and the only way to get it right into my new database is to read it from the web page and not from the value came in the output query. So I read this value with that little JavaScript I made and put it in the myValue variable and then I want ColdFusion to read that variable in order to place it in my SQL statement. <cfoutput query="rsPick"> <tr> <td>#rsPick.ABBREVIATION#</td> <td id="square"> #rsPick.name# </td> <td>#rsPick.Composition#</td> <td> Transaction done... <script type="text/javascript"> var myvalue = document.getElementById("square").innerHTML </script> </td> <cfquery datasource="#Request.Order#"> INSERT INTO products (iniid, abbreviation, clsid, cllid, dfsid, dflid, szsid, szlid, gross, retail, netvaluebc, composition, name) VALUES ( #rsPick.ID#, '#rsPick.ABBREVIATION#', #rsPick.CLSID#, #rsPick.CLLID#, #rsPick.DFSID#, #rsPick.DFLID#, #rsPick.SZSID#, #rsPick.SZLID#, #rsPick.GROSSPRICE#, #rsPick.RETAILPRICE#, #rsPick.NETVALUEBC#, '#rsPick.COMPOSITION#','#MYVALUE#' ) </cfquery> </tr> </cfoutput>

  • How to implement YQL paging?

    - by Erik Vold
    I've read the YQL guide, and I keep reviewing http://developer.yahoo.com/yql/guide/yql-o...entables-paging and I have been looking at a few examples, but I'm still left pretty confused how YQL paging works. The problem that I am trying to tackle is creating a YQL open data table for the Mozilla labs Jetpack Gallery's jetpacks pages http://jetpackgallery.mozillalabs.com/jetpacks You flip through the pages of jetpacks with the ?page query variable and there is an order_by query variable. You can only see 10 results per page. Questions: List item Should I use or ? How do I specify the query parameter that indicates the page? in this case it is the 'page' query parameter. I am assuming I should use: <urls><url>http://jetpackgallery.mozillalabs.com/jetpacks</url></urls> is this correct? In the execute element, I will need to extract the details for each jetpack on the page? if so how would I organize that for the response.object? Can anyone provide some help? or perhaps point to a data table that I can look at as a reference? or better documentation on how paging works?

  • Converting QXmlItem to QtDomElement or similar?

    - by EightyEight
    Hello everyone. I'm parsing a fairly complicated XML file of the following structure: <root> ... ... <item> <subitem id="1"/> <text> text1 </text> </item> <item> <subitem id="2"/> <text> text2 </text> </item> ... <item> ... </item> ...</root> It's pretty crude but you get my drift I hope. I'm primarily interested in "item" nodes. So I wrote the following code (directly out of the Qt's online manual): QXmlQuery query; query.setQuery("//item/"); QXmlResultItems result; query.evaluateTo(&result); QXmlItem item(result.next()); while (!item.isNull()) { if (item.isNode()) { // WHAT DO I DO NOW? } item = result.next(); } Now, QXmlItem appears to represent two concepts, a literal value (like a string) or a Node, (which is what item.isNode() is doing). Unfortunately, I can't grasp how to convert the QXmlItem to something that will query-able again. In particular from the example above I'd like to grab the "id" attribute, and the text element. Can I do this using the XQuery approach, or am I way off base here? Any advice? Thanks!

  • C# to find JobId, Owner, TotalPages from Printer

    - by tanthiamhuat
    My below code works when the Form loads and I can get a list of Network Printers in listBox1. I am also able to see a specific printer's property name and value in listBox2. private void Form1_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { foreach (String printer in PrinterSettings.InstalledPrinters) { listBox1.Items.Add(printer.ToString()); } } private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { string printerName = "Ricoh-L4-1"; string query = string.Format("SELECT * from Win32_Printer WHERE Name LIKE '%{0}'", printerName); ManagementObjectSearcher searcher = new ManagementObjectSearcher(query); ManagementObjectCollection coll = searcher.Get(); foreach (ManagementObject printer in coll) { foreach (PropertyData property in printer.Properties) { listBox2.Items.Add(string.Format("{0}: {1}", property.Name, property.Value)); } } } But when I try to find JobId, Owner, TotalPages for a particular printer (when I actually send jobs to print to that printer), those values do not display at all. private void button2_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { listBox2.Items.Clear(); string printerName = "Ricoh-L4-1"; string query = string.Format("SELECT * from Win32_PrintJob WHERE Name LIKE '%{0}'", printerName); ManagementObjectSearcher SearchPrintJobs = new ManagementObjectSearcher(query); ManagementObjectCollection PrntJobCollection = SearchPrintJobs.Get(); foreach (ManagementObject PrntJob in PrntJobCollection) { string m_JobID = PrntJob.Properties["JobId"].Value.ToString(); string m_Owner = PrntJob.Properties["Owner"].Value.ToString(); string m_TotalPages = PrntJob.Properties["TotalPages"].Value.ToString(); listBox2.Items.Add(string.Format("{0}:{1}:{2}", m_JobID,m_Owner,m_TotalPages)); } } Do you have any idea how to get above to work? thanks in advance.

  • SQLite table does not exist exception for existing SQLite database (and table)

    - by SK9
    I've followed the instructions given here for introducing an existing SQLite database to your Android app. When I query the table "android_metadata" this is fine. But when I run a similar query on my own table "words" (which has _id for primary integer key) I get a table does not exist exception and the app crashes. Why is that? Code: Cursor c = myDatabase.query("android_metadata", null, null, null, null, null, null, null); works but Cursor c = myDatabase.query("words", null, null, null, null, null, null, null); returns a table does not exist exception. This is how I'm creating the database (the references to paths and filenames are correct): private void copyDatabase() throws IOException{ //Open local db as the input stream InputStream myInput = mContext.getAssets().open(DB_NAME); //Path to the just created empty db String outFileName = DB_PATH + DB_NAME; //Open the empty db as the output stream OutputStream myOutput = new FileOutputStream(outFileName); //Transfer bytes from the inputfile to the outputfile byte[] buffer = new byte[1024]; int length; while ((length = myInput.read(buffer))>0){ myOutput.write(buffer, 0, length); } //Close the streams myOutput.flush(); myOutput.close(); myInput.close(); } (Note: To my eyes, the table is there. I'm looking right at it in my SQLite browser.)

  • Lucene stop words not removed during searching need a substitute for AnalyzingQueryParser

    - by iamrohitbanga

It is because of http://lucene.apache.org/java/2_9_2/api/contrib-misc/org/apache/lucene/queryParser/analyzing/AnalyzingQueryParser.html not handling stop words. Is there a substitute? Update: forgot to mention that I need to do a fuzzy search. that is why i am using an AnalyzingQueryParser. Update portion of code that invokes AnalyzingQueryParser AnalyzingQueryParser parser = new AnalyzingQueryParser(Version.LUCENE_CURRENT,"description", analyzer); // fuzzy matching preparation String fuzzyStr = TextQuery.prepareFuzzy(tq.text, fuzzyDist); Query query = parser.parse(fuzzyStr); TopScoreDocCollector collector = TopScoreDocCollector.create(numHits, true); searcher.search(query, collector);

  • Hibernate limitations on using variables in queries

    - by sammichy
    I had asked the following question I have the following table structure for a table Player Table Player { Long playerID; Long points; Long rank; } Assuming that the playerID and the points have valid values, can I update the rank for all the players based on the number of points in a single query? If two people have the same number of points, they should tie for the rank. And received the answer from Daniel Vassalo (thank you). UPDATE player JOIN (SELECT p.playerID, IF(@lastPoint <> p.points, @curRank := @curRank + 1, @curRank) AS rank, IF(@lastPoint = p.points, @curRank := @curRank + 1, @curRank), @lastPoint := p.points FROM player p JOIN (SELECT @curRank := 0, @lastPoint := 0) r ORDER BY p.points DESC ) ranks ON (ranks.playerID = player.playerID) SET player.rank = ranks.rank; When I try to execute this as a native query in Hibernate, the following exception is thrown. java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: org.hibernate.QueryException: Space is not allowed after parameter prefix ':' Apparently this has been an open issue for the last couple of years, I want to know if the ranking query can be made to work either Without using any variables in the SQL query OR Using any workaround for Hibernate.

  • simpletest - Why does setReturnValue() seem to change behaviour depending on if test is run in isola

    - by JW
    I am using SimpleTest version 1.0.1 for a unit test. I create a new mock object within a test method and on it i do: $MockDbAdaptor->setReturnValue('query',1); Now, when i run this in a standalone unit test my tested object is happy to see 1 returned when query() is called on the mock db adaptor. However, when this exact same test is run as part of my 'all_tests' TestSuite, the test is failing. This happens because a call to the mock's query() method does not appear to return any value - thus causing my test subject to complain and trigger an unexpected exception that fails the test. So, the behaviour of setReturnValue() seems to change depending on whether the test is run in isolation or not. I can get it to work in both a standalone and TestSuite contexts by using this instead: $MockDbAdaptor->setReturnValueAt(0,'query',1); So my immediate problem can be fixed ...but it feels like a hack. I thought if i create a new mock within a test method then why is the setReturnValue() behaviour getting affected by the context in which the test class instance is run? It feel like a bug.

String[] projection = new String[] { ContactsContract.Contacts._ID, ContactsContract.Contacts.DISPLAY_NAME }; Cursor managedCursor = cr.query(contacts, projection, null, null, ContactsContract.Contacts.DISPLAY_NAME + " COLLATE LOCALIZED ASC"); return managedCursor; }

My current query only looks at the first eventtype, so returns the wrong result. <event> <eventtitle>Garrison Keillor</eventtitle> <eventtypes> <eventtype id="24"/> <eventtype id="23"/> </eventtypes> </event> <event> <eventtitle>Joe Krown Trio featuring Walter Wolfman Washington</eventtitle> <eventtypes> <eventtype id="23"/> </eventtypes> </event> LINQ query: Dim query = _ From c In calXML...<event> _ Where c...<eventtypes>.<eventtype>.@id = "23" _ Select c.<eventtitle>.Value, c.<eventlocation>.Value For Each item In query Response.Write("<h3>" & item.eventtitle & "</h3>") Response.Write(item.eventlocation & "<br />") Next

  • DB2Command ExecuteNonQuery Insert multiple rows problem

    - by DB2 Nubie
    I'm attempting to insert multiple rows into a DB2 database using C# code like this: string query = "INSERT INTO TESTDB2.RG_Table (V,E,L,N,Q,B,S,P) values" + "('lkjlkj', 'iouoiu', '2009-03-27 12:01:19', 'nnne', 'sdfdf', NULL, NULL, NULL)," + "('lkjlk2', 'iuoiu2', '2009-03-27 12:01:19', 'nnne2', 'sddf2', NULL, NULL, NULL)"; DB2Command cmd = new DB2Command(query, this.transactionConnection, this.transaction); cmd.ExecuteNonQuery(); If I stop building the query string after the first set of values is included it executes without an error. Attempting to load multiple values using this method results in the following error: Upload error : ERROR [42601] [IBM][DB2] SQL0104N An unexpected token "," was found following "". Expected tokens may include: "". SQLSTATE =42601 The SQL syntax matches that which I have read elsewhere, such as http://stackoverflow.com/questions/452859/inserting-multiple-rows-in-a-single-sql-query and IBM's documentation gives this example: cmd = conn.CreateCommand(); cmd.Transaction = trans; cmd.CommandText = "INSERT INTO company_a VALUES(5275, 'Sanders', 20, 'Mgr', 15, 18357.50), " + "(5265, 'Pernal', 20, 'Sales', NULL, 18171.25), " + "(5791, 'O''Brien', 38, 'Sales', 9, 18006.00)"; cmd.ExecuteNonQuery(); Can anyone explain what could account for this?

  • SHA function issues

    - by Damian James
    I have this php code from my login.php if (isset($_POST['logIn'])) { $errmsg = ""; $logname = mysqli_real_escape_string($dbc, trim($_POST['usernameIn'])); $logpassword = mysqli_real_escape_string($dbc, trim($_POST['passwordIn'])); $query = "SELECT user_id, username FROM members WHERE username = '$logname' AND password = SHA('$logpassword')"; $data = mysqli_query($dbc, $query); if (mysqli_num_rows($data) == 1) { $row = mysqli_fetch_array($data); setcookie('user_id', $row['user_id'], time() + (60 * 60 * 24 * 30)); //expires after 30 days setcookie('username', $row['username'], time() + (60 * 60 * 24 * 30)); $home = 'http://' . $_SERVER['HTTP_HOST'] . dirname($_SERVER['PHP_SELF']) . '/index.php'; header('Location: ' . $home); } else { $errmsg = '<p class="errormsg">Username or password is incorrect.</p>'; } } And for some reason, it always ends up setting $errmsg in the else statement. I am sure that I'm entering information (username,password) that is correct and exists in the database. I insert my values (from a signup script) using this query: $query = "INSERT INTO members (username, password, email) VALUES ('$username', SHA('$password'), '$email')"; Anyone see the problem with this script? Thanks!

  • Dynamic SQL To Dynamic LINQ in VB.NET with MS SQL Server 2008

    - by user337501
    I dread asking this question, because with what I've read so far I understand im gonna have to cram a lotta new things into my head. In spite of all the similiar questions(and the wide variety of answers) I thought I'd ask as nothing I've read tailors to what I need specifically enough. I need to represent the following query using LINQ: DECLARE @PurchasedInventoryItemID Int = 2 DECLARE @PurchasedInventorySectionID Int = 0 DECLARE @PurchasedInventoryItem_PurchasingCategoryID Int = 3 DECLARE @PurchasedInventorySection_PurchasingCategoryID Int = 0 DECLARE @IsActive Bit = 1 DECLARE @PropertyID Int = 2 DECLARE @PropertyValue nvarchar(1000) = 'Granny Smith' --Property1, Property2, Property3 ... SELECT O.PurchasedInventoryObjectID, O.PurchasedInventoryObjectName, O.PurchasedInventoryConjunctionID, O.Summary, O.Count, O.PropertyCount, O.IsActive FROM tblPurchasedInventoryObject As O INNER JOIN tblPurchasedInventoryConjunction As C ON C.PurchasedInventoryConjunctionID = O.PurchasedInventoryConjunctionID INNER JOIN tblPurchasedInventoryItem As I ON I.PurchasedInventoryItemID = C.PurchasedInventoryItemID INNER JOIN tblPurchasedInventorySection As S ON S.PurchasedInventorySectionID = C.PurchasedInventorySectionID INNER JOIN tblPurchasedInventoryPropertyMap as M ON M.PurchasedInventoryObjectID = O.PurchasedInventoryObjectID INNER JOIN tblPropertyValue As V ON V.PropertyValueID = M.PropertyValueID WHERE I.PurchasedInventoryItemID = @PurchasedInventoryItemID AND S.PurchasedInventorySectionID = @PurchasedInventorySectionID AND I.PurchasingCategoryID = @PurchasedInventoryItem_PurchasingCategoryID AND S.PurchasingCategoryID = @PurchasedInventorySection_PurchasingCategoryID AND O.IsActive = @IsActive AND V.PropertyID = @PropertyID AND V.Value = @PropertyValue Now, I know that a query in .NET doesnt look like this, this is my test in the SQL Design Studio. Naturally VB.NET variables will be used in place of the SQL local variables. My problem is this: All of the conditions after "WHERE" are optional. In that a query might be made that uses one, some, all, or none of the conditions. V.PropertyID and V.Value can also appear any number of times. In VB.NET I can make this query easy enough by simply concatenating strings, and using a loop to append the "V.PropertyID/V.Value" conditions. I can also make a Stored Procedure in MS SQL, which is easy enough. However, I want to accomplish this using LINQ. If anyone could direct me, I would be most appreciative.

  • Subsonic 3, SimpleRepository, SQL Server: How to find rows with a null field?

    - by desautelsj
    How ca I use Subsonic's Find<T> method to search for rows with a field containing the "null" value. For the sake of the discussion, let's assume I have a c# class called "Visit" which contains a nullable DateTime field called "SynchronizedOn" and also let's assume that the Subsonic migration has created the corresponding "Visits" table and the "SynchronizedOn" field. If I was to write the SQL query myself, I would write something like: SELECT * FROM Visits WHERE SynchronizedOn IS NULL When I use the following code: var visits = myRepository.Find<Visit>(x => x.SynchronizedOn == null); Subsonic turns it into the following SQL query: SELECT * FROM Visits WHERE SynchronizedOn == null which never returns any rows. I tried the following code but it throws an error: visits = repository.Find<Visit>(x => x.SynchronizedOn.HasValue); I was able to use the following syntax: var query = from v in repository.All<Visit>() where v.SynchronizedOn == null orderby v.CreatedOn select v; visits = query.ToList<Visit>(); but it's not as nice an short as using the Find<T> method. Anyone knows how I can specify the "SynchronizedOn IS NULL" condition in the Find<T> method?

  • twitter bootstrap typeahead 2.0.4 ajax error

    - by Adam Levitt
    I have the following code which definitely returns a proper data result if I use the 2.0.0 version, but for some reason bootstrap's typeahead plugin is giving me an error. I pasted it below the code sample: <input id="test" type="text" /> $('#test').typeahead({ source: function(typeahead, query) { return $.post('/Profile/searchFor', { query: query }, function(data) { return typeahead.process(data); }); } }); When I run this example I'm getting a jQuery bug that says the following: ** item is undefined matcher(item=undefined)bootst...head.js (line 104) <br/>(?)(item=undefined)bootst...head.js (line 91) <br/>f(a=function(), b=function(), c=false)jquery....min.js (line 2) <br/>lookup(event=undefined)bootst...head.js (line 90) <br/>keyup(e=Object { originalEvent=Event keyup, type="keyup", timeStamp=145718131, more...})bootst...head.js (line 198) <br/>f()jquery....min.js (line 2) <br/>add(c=Object { originalEvent=Event keyup, type="keyup", timeStamp=145718131, <br/>more...})jquery....min.js (line 3) <br/>add(a=keyup charCode=0, keyCode=70)jquery....min.js (line 3) <br/>[Break On This Error] <br/>return item.toLowerCase().indexOf(this.query.toLowerCase())** Any thoughts? ... The same code works in the 2.0.0 version of the plugin, but fails to write to my knockout object model.
