  • Unable to retrieve data, mysql php pdo

    - by Kyle Hudson
    Hi, I have an issue, i cannot get any results from mysql on a production box but can on a development box, we use PHP 5.3 with MySQL (pdo). $sd = $this->dbh->quote($sd); $si_sql = "SELECT COUNT(*) FROM tbl_wl_data WHERE (site_domain = $sd OR siteDomainMasked = $sd);"; if($this->dbh->query($si_sql)->rowCount() > 0) { //gets to here, just doesnt get through the loop $sql = "SELECT pk_aid, site_name, site_css, site_img_sw, supportPhone FROM tbl_wl_data WHERE (site_domain = $sd OR siteDomainMasked = $sd);"; foreach($this->dbh->query($sql) as $wlsd) { //-- fails here if($wlsd['wl_status'] != '1') { require "_domainDisabled.php"; exit; } $this->pk_aid = $wlsd['pk_aid']; $this->siteTitle = $wlsd['site_name']; $this->siteCSS = $wlsd['site_css']; $this->siteImage = $wlsd['site_img_sw']; $this->siteSupportPhone = $wlsd['supportPhone']; } } else { throw new ERR_SITE_NOT_LINKED; } It just doesnt seem to get into the loopk, i ran the query in navicat and it returns the data.   • PHP login, getting wrong count value from query / fetch array

    - by Chris
    Hello, *EDIT*Thanks to the comments below it has been figured out that the problem lies with the md5, without everything works as it should. But how do i implent the md5 then? I am having some troubles with the following code below to login. The database and register system are already working. The problem lies that it does not find any result at all in the query. IF the count is 0 it should redirect the user to a secured page. But this only works if i write count = 0, but this should be 0 , only if the user name and password is found he should be directed to the secure (startpage) of the site after login. For example root (username) root (password) already exists but i cannot seem to properly login with it. <?php session_start(); if (!empty($_POST["send"])) { $username = ($_POST["username"]); $password = (md5($_POST["password"])); $count = 0; $con = mysql_connect("localhost" , "root", ""); mysql_select_db("testdb", $con); $result = mysql_query("SELECT name, password FROM user WHERE name = '".$username."' AND password = '".$password."' ") or die("Error select statement"); $count = mysql_num_rows($result); if($count > 0) // always goes the to else, only works with >=0 but then the data is not found in the database, hence incorrect { $row = mysql_fetch_array($result); $_SESSION["username"] = $row["name"]; header("Location: StartPage.php"); } else { echo "Wrong login data, please try again"; } mysql_close($con); } ?>

  • html/css: set div bounding box to window height

    - by noamtm
    It looks like I'm missing something basic. I want a certain DIV to have the height of the window. The effect should be that there's never any need to scroll down. Do I have to use JavaScript? I was told that it's possible with css, but I can't find the relevant property - or I'm doing something wrong.

  • PHP & form validation

    - by user887515
    I have a form that I'm submitting via ajax, and I want to return a message of the list of fields that were empty. I've got that all done and dusted, but it just seems really long winded on the PHP side of things. How can I do the below in a less convoluted way? <?php if(empty($_POST["emailaddress"])){ $error = 'true'; $validation_msg = 'Country missing.'; if(empty($error_msg)){ $error_msg .= $validation_msg; } else{ $error_msg .= '\n' . $validation_msg; } } if(empty($_POST["password"])){ $error = 'true'; $validation_msg = 'Country missing.'; if(empty($error_msg)){ $error_msg .= $validation_msg; } else{ $error_msg .= '\n' . $validation_msg; } } if(empty($_POST["firstname"])){ $error = 'true'; $validation_msg = 'First name missing.'; if(empty($error_msg)){ $error_msg .= $validation_msg; } else{ $error_msg .= '\n' . $validation_msg; } } if(empty($_POST["lastname"])){ $error = 'true'; $validation_msg = 'Last name missing.'; if(empty($error_msg)){ $error_msg .= $validation_msg; } else{ $error_msg .= '\n' . $validation_msg; } } if($error){ header('HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error'); header('Content-Type: application/json'); die($error_msg); } ?>

  • Obtaining XML from U.S. Postal Service (USPS) rate calculator API with PHP

    - by Chris F
    hoping somebody here can help me. I'm attempting to pull an XML page from the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) rate calculator, using PHP. Here is the code I am using (with my API login and password replaced of course): <? $api = "http://production.shippingapis.com/ShippingAPI.dll?API=RateV4&XML=<RateV4Request ". "USERID=\"MYUSERID\" PASSWORD=\"MYPASSWORD\"><Revision/><Package ID=\"1ST\">". "<Service>FIRST CLASS</Service><FirstClassMailType>PARCEL</FirstClassMailType>". "<ZipOrigination>12345</ZipOrigination><ZipDestination>54321</ZipDestination>". "<Pounds>0</Pounds><Ounces>9</Ounces><Container/><Size>REGULAR</Size></Package></RateV4Request>"; $xml_string = file_get_contents($api); $xml = simplexml_load_string($xml_string); ?> Pretty straightforward. However it never returns anything. I can paste the URL directly into my browser's address bar: http://production.shippingapis.com/ShippingAPI.dll?API=RateV4&XML=<RateV4RequestUSERID="MYUSERID" PASSWORD="MYPASSWORD"><Revision/><Package ID="1ST"><Service>FIRST CLASS</Service><FirstClassMailType>PARCEL</FirstClassMailType><ZipOrigination>12345</ZipOrigination><ZipDestination>54321</ZipDestination><Pounds>0</Pounds><Ounces>9</Ounces><Container/><Size>REGULAR</Size></Package></RateV4Request> And it returns the XML I need, so I know the URL is valid. But I cannot seem to capture it using PHP. Any help would be tremendously appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  • php memory how much is too much

    - by Rob
    I'm currently re-writing my site using my own framework (it's very simple and does exactly what I need, i've no need for something like Zend or Cake PHP). I've done alot of work in making sure everything is cached properly, caching pages in files so avoid sql queries and generally limiting the number of sql queries. Overall it looks like it's very speedy. The average time taken for the front page (taken over 100 times) is 0.046152 microseconds. But one thing i'm not sure about is whether i've done enough to reduce php memory usage. The only time i've ever encountered problems with it is when uploading large files. Using memory_get_peak_usage(TRUE), which I THINK returns the highest amount of memory used whilst the script has been running, the average (taken over 100 times) is 1572864 bytes. Is that good? I realise you don't know what it is i'm doing (it's rather simple, get the 10 latest articles, the comment count for each, get the user controls, popular tags in the sidebar etc). But would you be at all worried with a script using that sort of memory getting hit 50,000 times a day? Or once every second at peak times? I realise that this is a very open ended question. Hopefully you can understand that it's a bit of a stab in the dark and i'm really just looking for some re-assurance that it's not going to die horribly come re-launch day.

  • jquery XML .html() instead of .text() is not displaying?

    - by Xtian
    I can't seem to figure out this problem. I am trying to get xml to render html tags. The problem I am having using .text() will display but not recognize any html tags. If I use .html() or just call var long2 = $(this).find('long'); nothing will show up in Safari or IE. I have xml paragraph I have text in here that needs bold tags or tags which is why i need html tags in the xml to be recognized. Code: $(document).ready(function(){ $.ajax({ type: "GET", url: "xml/sites.xml", dataType: "xml", success: function(xml) { $(xml).find('site').each(function(){ var id = $(this).attr('id'); var title = $(this).find('title').text(); var Class = $(this).find('class').text(); $('<div class="'+Class+'" id="link_'+id+'"></div>').html('<p class="title">'+title+'</p>').appendTo('#page-wrap'); $(this).find('desc').each(function(){ var url = $(this).find('url').text(); var long = $(this).find('long').text(); $('<div class="long"></div>').html(long).appendTo('#link_'+id); $('#link_'+id).append('<a href="http://'+url+'">'+url+'</a>'); var long2 = $(this).find('long'); $('<div class="long2"></div>').html(long2).appendTo('#link_'+id); }); }); } });

  • HTML/Javascript - Inconsistent positioning

    - by user1473358
    I'm in the process of designing this site http://www.parisgaa.org/parisgaels and have a problem. The image slider on the homepage messes up sometimes. Most of the time it works and looks fine, but other times its positioning seems to get messed up and it appears underneath the content that should be below it (i.e. with that content overlapping the image). You should be able to replicate this in Chrome - just refresh a couple of times. I'd appreciate any help at all.

  • Decoding MIME (HTML+Attachments)

    - by MH
    I'm planning to write an application that should handle incoming mails. Basically it will act more like a ticketing system than a webmail, so I'm only interested in receiving emails, and not sending them. I have made a simple prototype that downloads mails and displays the text with downloadable attachments in a web page, but handling mails from Outlook and others is more complicated. I have looked at some of the open source ticketing systems out there, but most of the code is tied to the system and is hard to separate. Is there a library that understands "rich" mail and makes this job simpler? Preferably in Python, Java, Ruby or Perl. I'm also open to suggestions for any command line mail clients that can be used for this, since the system will not receive large amounts of mail and can afford to launch external processes.

  • Need help with jquery json data transfer from php file

    - by Scarface
    Hey guys I am trying to return the latest 10 results of a query from a php file, through json format, to a jquery getjson function that prints results. I am getting weird problems though. For example I am only getting 8 entries returned, and some are disordered, and sometimes nothing is returned. I am not really sure what I am doing wrong, so if anyone has any ideas I would really appreciate it. This is my query ($res) SELECT time, user, message FROM comments WHERE topic_id='$topic_id' ORDER BY time DESC LIMIT 10 This is the processing of the results while($row = mysql_fetch_array($res)){ $message=$row['message']; $user=$row['user']; if($row['message'] AND $row['time'] > $_GET['time']) $data[] = $row; } $out = json_encode($data); print $out; And this is the retrieval where prepare is just a function that returns information into a div $.getJSON(files+"processing.php?action=load&time="+0+"&topic_id="+topic_id+"&t=" + (new Date()), function(json) { if(json.length) { for(i=0; i < 10; i++) { $('#comment-list').prepend(prepare(json[i])); $('#list-' + count).fadeIn(1500); } } }); function prepare(response) { count++; var string = '<li class="comment-list" id="list-'+count+'">' //organize info into a div +'</li>'; return string; }

  • I have a parse error in my php code

    - by user1421767
    I have a piece of code which I am struggling on. I want the onclick function to display the "Question" row in the function but when I place '$questionrow['QuestionContent']' within the brackets, it is giving me an error stating: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_ENCAPSED_AND_WHITESPACE, expecting T_STRING or T_VARIABLE or T_NUM_STRING in /xxx7/Mobile_app/previousquestions.php on line 119 How do I place the QuestionContent within the brackets correctly in function below: onclick='parent.addwindow('$questionrow['QuestionContent']');'>Add</button> Below is whole code: <?php $output = ""; while ($questionrow = mysql_fetch_assoc($questionresult)) { $output .= " <table> <tr> <td class='questiontd'>{$questionrow['QuestionContent']}</td> <td class='addtd'><button type='button' class='add' onclick='parent.addwindow('$questionrow['QuestionContent']');'>Add</button></td> </tr>"; } $output .= " </table>"; echo $output; ?>

  • Aligning textboxes via HTML

    - by Garry
    Here is my code: Classroom name: <input type="text" name="txtClassroomName" size="20"><br> School name: <input type="text" name="txtSchoolName" size="20"><br> School contact email address: <input type="text" name="txtSchoolEmail" size="20"><br> School address: <input type="text" name="txtSchoolAddress" size="20"><br> School telephone number: <input type="text" name="txtTelephoneNumber" size="20"><br> As you can probably guess, this code displays some text and then has some textboxes after this text. My question is this: I am wanting to align all the texboxes so that they are aligned. I have added spaces after the text, yet the textboxes just appear straight after the text, ignoring the spaces that I entered. What is the best, most effective way to do this? Maybe a table? thanks

  • Merging Three or More Images -- PHP

    - by bballer13sn
    Before I ask my question, I'd like to thank you all in advance for helping me with this. So here's the question: So, for my website, I've been trying to make it so people's characters (which are currently composed of several pictures that are moved by CSS) are merged into one image as to make my life easier. The chunk of code that currently doesn't work is as follows: $template = $charRow['template']; $gender = $charRow['gender']; $shirt = $charRow['shirt']; $pants = $charRow['pants']; $hat = $charRow['hat']; $templatePic = imagecreatefrompng("Templates/".$template); if (!empty($shirt)) { $shirtPic = imagecreatefrompng($shirt); imagecopy($templatePic,$shirtPic,0,0,0,0,imagesx($templatePic),imagesy($templatePic)); } if (!empty($pants)) { $pantsPic = imagecreatefrompng($pants); imagecopy($templatePic,$pantsPic,0,0,0,0,imagesx($templatePic),imagesy($templatePic)); } if (!empty($hat)) { $hatPic = imagecreatefrompng($hat); imagecopy($templatePic,$hatPic,0,0,0,0,imagesx($templatePic),imagesy($templatePic)); } imagePNG($templatePic, 'Images/'); //Problem line... This is the error PHP is giving me: Warning: imagepng() [function.imagepng]: Unable to open 'Images/' for writing: Is a directory in PathToParentFolderOfFollowingFile/testFile.php on line 139 What exactly does this error mean and how can it be fixed? NOTE: $charRow is not the problem. The query to get that is just not being displayed to all of you.

  • Replace non-html links with <A> tags

    - by tombazza
    I have a block of code that will take a block of text like the following: Sample text sample text http://www.google.com sample text Using the preg_replace_callback method and the following regular expression: preg_replace_callback('/http:\/\/([,\%\w.\-_\/\?\=\+\&\~\#\$]+)/', create_function( '$matches', '$url = $matches[1]; $anchorText = ( strlen($url) > 35 ? substr($url, 0, 35).\'...\' : $url); return \'<a href="http://\'. $url .\'">\'. $anchorText .\'</a>\';'), $str); Will convert the sample text to look like: Sample text sample text < a href="http://www.google.com"http://www.google.com< /a sample text My problem now is that we have introduced a rich text editor that can create links before being sent to the script. I need to update this piece of code so that it will ignore any URLs that are already inside an tag.

  • sprintf bug with php & apache in windows?

    - by potatoe
    I've run into a strange problem on a WAMP server setup (PHP version 5.3.0, Apache 2.2.11). When using sprintf to output a number, I occasionally get erroneous characters in the output string. Example: (not trimmed from anything, this is the only code in the script) $dt1 = new DateTime('now'); $dt2 = new DateTime('now - 10 min'); $interval = $dt1->diff($dt2); $number = 10.0; $string = sprintf("%.1f", $number); echo "number: $number, string: $string\n"; If I run this at the command prompt with PHP CLI, I get the expected output: number: 10, string: 10.0 However, if I serve it using Apache, in the browser I get number: 10, string: :.0 with a colon where '10' should be. (Note that ':' is the next ascii character in sequence after '9', if $number is 0-9, everything works. Numbers greater than 10 appear to use ascii equivalents - so 11 is ';', 12 is '<', etc.) The strangest part is that the first four lines in the above code sample seem to affect the results. Logically, those statements should have no impact, but if I comment them out or remove them the problem goes away. Any ideas? Anyone else able to replicate this?

  • What's a good way to integrate FB and Twitter into my commenting system (PHP)

    - by Jason
    Hi Guys, There are so many options out there for integration. At the moment I have comments that are posted on my articles, where a user types in their name and the comment. This is then sent to a moderation queue and displayed when approved. I want to acheive this: Comment with facebook login (ie facebook account listed as the name w/ avatar) Comment with twitter login (ie twitter account name listed as the name w/ avatar) Push comment from my website to twitter and to facebook I could go down a few paths as far as I know: Integrate with XFBML, which I don't like because I find it annoying to setup and messy. Integrate facebook comments system, although this can't push to twitter, or allow me to moderate comments from my backend (as far as I can tell i'd have to login under the facebook login for the dev account to moderate the comment) Find a php class that does open auth and integrate with both face book and twitter at once find a pre-created php class Anyone have a solution that will bias: a. easy to integrate b. lightweight c. is free Thanks for your suggestions in advance.
