  • Can I use a project code which has New BSD license but uses a GPL license library?

    I want to use the ICSOpenVpn project source code in my commercial application. If we see the ICSOpenVpn project, it states that its license is New BSD but the libopenvpn.so library it uses is under GNU GPLv2 license. As per FAQ for version 2 of GNU GPL "If a library is released under the GPL (not the LGPL), does that mean that any program which uses it has to be under the GPL?" The answer says: "Yes, because the program as it is actually run includes the library." Also, how could ICSOpenVpn change the license to New BSD?

  • Tool for braceless, whitespace sensitive C syntax

    I'm writing some C at the moment and because I like whitespace sensitive syntax, I'd like to write it like this: #include <stdio.h> int main(void) printf("Hello, world!") return 0 Instead of this: #include <stdio.h> int main(void) { printf("Hello, world!"); return 0; } Does anybody know of a tool that will convert the former into the latter? Edit: I've really no interest in arguing with those that think this is a bad idea. By all means continue to think that, you have your reasons. But at least know this: I'm aware Python is a whitespace sensitive language but I have not used it. Why would I? I know Ruby already. Also know: I am not just learning C for the first time and I have used PHP and JavaScript for more than four years, so I am not requesting this out of some personal difficulty, lack of familiarity with block syntax, or dogmatic affiliation. I am also aware of what would be involved in writing one of these and that's not beyond my ability but I don't want this enough to justify spending the time writing one.

  • IE8 Debugger: how to load external javascript files?

    I have downloaded and installed IE8. I was playing around with the debugger, but I could not figure out how to load external javascript files. It displays the javascript from the main page, but I need to debug the script in the external files. I have googled various articles that show a screenshot of an IE8 debugger with a drop-down for selecting which script to debug, but my debugger does not feature this. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks.

I've got several small installations that need to be able to be deployed separately, but also as one group, and I'd like to not have to maintain multiple installers. It looks like I need Windows Installer 4.5 to do this properly, but I can't seem to find to much info when I'm looking around for what version of Installer is supported.

That, or at least give me a list of .tpls to look through. I can't seem to find this error and the site isn't very well documented.     Anyone know of a wiki or wiki plugin that generates a PDF file or CHM file that spans the entire wiki? I would like to have control of the table of contents. I would like the internal and external links to work. Ideally allow for tweaking the output template, but that is not a deal-breaker. I want to generate content using WIKI syntax and mindset (lots of cross-links etc), but ship the content in PDF, CHM or an embedded application form. Something friendlier than installing the wiki software on the enduser machine...

    Hi I have a number of legacy web controls (ascx) that contains huge amounts of inline C#. The forms contain a number of repeated and duplicate code. Our first plan is to move the code into code behinds per file, then refactor etc... were doing this to upgrade the client to the latest version of their cms At the moment we are going to have to manually copy and paste from hundreds of files, create a code behind, copy the code, add the namespaces based on the client-side imports and then do any tidying up does anybody PLEASE know of a tool that can do the majority of this work for us ?   • Source code comparison app that doesn't require files?

    I'm looking for an easy-to-use, free source code comparison app for Windows, which will highlight differences side-by-side between two pieces of source code. Some apps get close to what I want, but are too restrictive by requiring you load in entire files and compare them in their entirety. Sometimes I just want to compare a section of my file, such as a single function, which may be in totally different locations in the two versions I'd be comparing, making it hard to find in both panes in large files. Basically, I'd like to be able to simply edit/copy/paste the content in both panes rather than have the restriction of using files. That way I can copy and paste one function into one pane and another into the other, editing/re-ordering as necessary. (Note that I realize there are other comparison app recommendation threads out there, but I'm having a hard time finding a free app that isn't a strict file-to-file comparison app) Thanks for any pointers or links, thanks!

    Hi Guys, We are a web design company going down the road of setting up a revision management system and all the processes around how we are going to use it etc. We mainly develop our websites on a Joomla and what i wanted to know is how other companies manage their repositories when dealing with a CMS. We mainly deal with template building as well as occasionally customising components/plugins we installed.
