  • Disable anchor link failed with javascript

    Hello Everyone, I have anchor tag <a id="click" href="javascript:void(0);" onclick="disable();" style="">Clickme</a>. When html loads it showing clickme,when i click anchor link,it calls disable() function,In disable function i am trying to hide it using below code: document.getElementById("click").style.display='none'; But page never hides that anchor link,Please let me know if i am doing anything wrong. We have built a Web portal-based collaboration platform that we would like to host on five different Windows- and Linux-based servers in different hosting environments that run Web servers. Each of these Windows and Linux servers have a different host name and domain name (and IP address). Out team would appreciate your guidance on: (1) Is there a way to implement this Web portal-based platform on these Linux servers without customizing the host name, domain name and IP address for each individual instance? (2) Is there a way to create some variables using JavaScript for host name and domain name and call them from the different implementations? (3) Can these JavaScript modules be made portable and re-usable object modules for different environments and instances? The portal is written in JavaScript that is embedded in HTML5 and padded with CSS3. Other technologies include Flash, Flex. Databases used are PostgreSQL and MySQL.

    I understand I am able to filter queryset of Foreignkey or Many2ManyFields, however, how do I do that for a simple CharField that is a Select Widget (Select Tag). For example: PRODUCT_STATUS = ( ("unapproved", "Unapproved"), ("approved", "Listed"), #("Backorder","Backorder"), #("oos","Out of Stock"), #("preorder","Preorder"), ("userdisabled", "User Disabled"), ("disapproved", "Disapproved by admin"), ) and the Field: o_status = models.CharField(max_length=100, choices=PRODUCT_STATUS, verbose_name="Product Status", default="approved") Suppose I wish to limit it to just "approved" and "userdisabled" instead showing the full array (which is what I want to show in the admin), how do I do it?   • Mac terminal: Resource temporarily unavailable

    I'm getting an error message in the Mac Terminal when I try to run several different processes. I did some googling and looking on this site, and found out that it might be related to having too many processes running at one time. However, I'm getting these error messages when I only have a few windows open (much fewer than I was accustomed to having). Looking in activity Monitor, my %User number is at around 25%, and the %System number is around 15%. In the past, I have had both much much higher (until the people at the Apple store told me to keep an eye on it).   • How long does it take in practice to warm up large in-memory databases?

    Companies such as Peak Hosting are offering 64 core machines with 512Gb RAM for $2K/month. This is a very interesting choice for in-memory databases such as Memcached/Redis as well as databases whose performance degrades rapidly when the data & indexes don't fit in RAM, such as MongoDB. My main concern with monster machines such as these is the time it takes to warm up an in-memory database. In my experience, theoretical metrics, e.g., that SATA can load 100Mb/sec, fall short of what happens in practice. Even at that rate, 100Mb/sec means that loading up 512Gb RAM machine from SATA disks can take over 1 1/2 hours (!). I am looking for real-world reports of warm-up times for machines with very large memory. Please, share details of the software on the machine, data size, storage configuration, e.g., SATA or SSD, network, hosting/cloud provider, if relevant, etc.

  • youtube video on Mac os?

    I have inserted a video from youtube into a DIV tag, used the actual "embed" code found on youtube site. and used jquery to show/hide the div. when activated, the flash video shows perfectly in the div, when clicked it plays as usual the only problem i have is when someone using a Mac, and clicks on play, the flash video disappears. this happened on many Mac computers regardles of the browser being in use ( none Firefox neither Safari are working ) although i have tested it on all general browsers on windows and it works fine

    I have to install windows service using Visual Studio. Target location for the install is handled by “DefaultLocation” property in Visual Studio setup project. I had used [AppDataFolder] tag to install the application. As the result, it has been installed in “C:\Users[username]\AppData*Roaming*” folder. I can not figure out how to modify “DefaultLocation” property in such a way that application will be installed in C:\Users[username]\AppData*Local* folder. Any idea how to accomplish that?

    When doing a git tag, I'm not always great at remembering if HEAD~6 (for example) is inclusive or exclusive. Given that most of my commits are prefixed with an issue number, I wondered if there is some magic command for searching for the commit SHA from part of its message. I know it's easy to do a git log and work from there, but I want more easy :)

  • Where does Skype save its chat history & contacts?

    I'm aware that there is a main.db file that is stored in a Windows directory. On XP: C:\Documents and Settings\<windows user>\Application Data\Skype\<username> But I just downloaded Skype onto my Android and noticed that all chats are sync'd. So to me, this suggests that the main.db file is not the only storage being used (because it is obviously not on my phone). Are contacts and chat history stored in my online Skype account? Does anyone know where I can find more information about this? I read this thread: Does skype automatically save chat history to the cloud? And how do you explain the sync'd chats?

  • Can you get the size of the Flash object in Actionscript?

    I'm working with a Flash movie and I'm trying to get the size of the player itself (i.e. the height and width Flash has to work with from the object/embed tag). As far as I can tell, Flash doesn't make this available to ActionScript. I'm able to use this.root.loaderInfo.width and this.root.loaderInfo.height to get the "intended" size of the flash movie (what's specified on export), but if the dimensions are different on the page, this isn't helpful.

I personally own an Android based phone running 2.1, but I can't seem to get the HTML 5 tag to work. Even when I can trigger the browser to playback the video it just throws a notification error that it can't. Are there guidelines to producing Android/HTML 5 compatible videos? Is it truly supported?

    What's the best way to get a ul to start from 'x'? The start tag is depricated and everything I have found on Google has used the :before pseudo class which doesn't work in IE6 or 7. Didn't have much luck when searching stack either. Only thing I can think of is manually go through and number the lists myself and style accordingly? Any help appreciated.
