    I know there's a lot of questions on SO similar to this, but I couldn't find one for this particular issue. A couple of points, first: I have no control over our Sharepoint server. I cannot tweak any IIS settings. I believe our IIS server version is IIS 7.0. Our Sharepoint Server is anticipating requests via NTLM. Our Sharepoint Server is on the same domain as my client computer. I am using .NET Framework 3.5, Visual Studio 2008 I am trying to write a simple console app to manipulate Sharepoint data using Sharepoint Web Services. The authentication header received from the server was 'NTLM'. With an inner WebException: "The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized." I've tried various bindings and various code tweaks to try to authenticate properly, but to no avail. I'll list those below. I've tried the following steps: Using a native Win32 Impersonator before creating the client using (new Impersonator.Impersonator("username", "password", "domain")) using (var client = new ListsSoapClient()) { client.ClientCredentials.Windows.ClientCredential = new NetworkCredential("dpincas", "password", "domain"); client.GetListCollection(); } This produced the same error message. Setting TokenImpersonationLevel for my client credentials using (var client = new ListsSoapClient()) { client.ClientCredentials.Windows.AllowedImpersonationLevel = TokenImpersonationLevel.Impersonation; client.GetListCollection(); } This produced the same error message. Using security mode=TransportCredentialOnly <security mode="TransportCredentialOnly"> <transport clientCredentialType="Ntlm" /> </security> This resulted in a different error message: The provided URI scheme 'https' is invalid; expected 'http'. Parameter name: via However, I need to use https, so I cannot change my URI scheme. I've tried some other combinations that I can't remember, but I'll post them when I do. I'm really at wits end here. I see a lot of links on Google that say "switch to Kerberos", but my server seems to only be accepting NTLM, not "Negotiate" (as it would say if it was looking for Kerberos), so that is unfortunately not an option. Any help out there, folks?

The default web site for this machine MOJITO is configured to use ASP.NET 1.1 and the IP address is set to (All Unassigned). The production versions of the latter 2 webservices run on the MOJITO machine (named ZipeeeService and EmergencyService respectively). Can my staging versions of the above webservices (named zVersion2wsSQL and zVersion2wsEmergency respectively) co-exist on the same web server with the same IP address? Please note that when I test the zVersion2wsSQL webservice independently (from INETMGR right-mouse and click Browse) it works as expected (i.e. presenting all the methods of the webservice) like this snippet: GetMessageByType MessageName="Get_x0020_Message_x0020_By_x0020_Type" I can test this webmethod by clicking on it and it presents the Test dialog (because it takes a simple datatype and I am invoking it on localhost (i.e. MOJITO): **Get Message By Type** **Test** To test the operation using the HTTP POST protocol, click the 'Invoke' button. Parameter Value iMsgType: _______ [INVOKE button] SOAP 1.1 ....etc. I fear I may have rambled with too much information so I will stop but I hope someone can help me as I cannot understand why this request results in a "not found".     Hi, I have an RMI client/server set-up on two machines that works fine in a simple situation when the server doesn't require a client-side defned class. However, when I need to use a class defined on the client side I am unable to have the server unmarshall those classes. I suspect this is an issue with my java.rmi.server.codebase property that I pass in as argument to the client app. I followed Sun's RMI Tutorial trail and I think I have followed the steps exactly except that I don't specify a classpath argument when executing client and server because they execute in the directory right above the root package directory (however I tried that too with no effect). Appropriate port-mapping is set-up in the router that points to the right machines. role, machine, os, ip-address: server, venice, linux ubuntu 9.10, 10.0.1.2 client, naples, mac os x leopard, 10.0.1.4 I startup the server side as follows inside /home/andrews/workspace/epsilon/bin: 1 starting registry on the default port 1099: venice% rmiregistry & 2 starting web-server on port 2001 pointing to code base for common interfaces: venice% java webserver/ClassFileServer 2001 /home/andrew/workspace/epsilon/bin 3 starting server app (main class in test/myServer) which registers the server object: venice% java -Djava.rmi.server.codebase="http://myhostname:2001/" -Djava.security.policy=server.policy -Djava.rmi.server.hostname=myhostname test/myServer & Now the client side inside /Users/andrews/Development/Java/workspace/epsilon/bin: 1 start a local web server that can server client-side classes to the server (not sure if this is needed, but I added I tried it, and still no success; I have added port-mapping to the router for 2001 to venice, for 2002 to naples) naples$ java webserver/ClassFileServer 2002 /Users/andrews/Development/Java/workspace/epsilon/bin/ Trying to run the client (note: I don't specify the -cp argument because client executes right above the root package directory): 1 try #1 using an http hostname naples$ java -Djava.rmi.server.codebase=http://10.0.1.4:2002/ -Djava.security.policy=client.policy test.myClient myhostname Note 1: the myhostname argument at the end is passed-in to the client so that it resolves to server's rmi hostname. Note 2: I tried using localhost:2002 instead of 10.0.1.4:2002 too. Note 3: I tried using myhostname:2002 since myhostname is assigned to the router and I have proper port-mapping set-up, this address should resolve to naples and not venice 2 try #2: naples$ java -Djava.rmi.server.codebase=file:/Users/andrews/Development/Java/workspace/epsilon/bin/ -Djava.security.policy=client.policy test.myClient myhostname Note 1: the code base url format is correct, I created a small program to convert current file directory path into a url and used that. using file:///Users... has same effect. Other notes: 1 my server and client policy files correctly specify the path, as I've tested this setup with good and bad paths, and getting a security exception for bad path 2 this setup works if I don't use client-side defined objects, the client connects correctly to the server and the server executes. 3 when I place the client-side class on the server in the server's classpath, all executes fine. All help is appreciated.

When thrown nothing is painted. Another interesting thing is the timing of the throwing. I am unable to find any logical patern, as sometimes it is thrown as soon as I initiate the class and sometimes it needs more then five minutes. In addition to this, as far as I tested there is no single action that calls repaint() that triggers it or rather all do. I am new to Java and all the other exceptions had the class and row number of where they were thrown so I don't know what to do here. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.   • WinMo > ASMX WebException - how to get details?

    Okay, we've got an application which consists of a website hosting several ASMX webservices, and a handheld application running on WinMo 6.1 which calls the webservices. Been developing in the office, everything works perfect. Now we've gone to install it at the client's and we got all the servers set up and the handhelds installed. However the handhelds are now no longer able to connect to the webservice. I added in extra code in my error handler to specifically trap WebException exceptions and handle them differently in the logging to put out extra information (.Status and .Response). I am getting out the status, which is returning a [7], or ProtocolError. However when I try to read out the ResponseStream (using WebException.Response.GetResponseStream), it is returning a stream with CanRead set to False, and I thus am unable to get any further details of what is going wrong. So I guess there are two things I am asking for help with... a) Any help with trying to get more information out of the WebException? b) What could be causing a ProtocolError exception? Things get extra complicated by the fact that the client has a full-blown log-in-enabled proxy setup going on-site. This was stopping all access to the website initially, even from a browser. So we entered in the login details in the network connection for HTTP on the WinMo device. Now it can get to websites fine. In fact, I can even pull up the webservice fine and call the methods from the browser (PocketIE). So I know the device is able to see the webservices okay via HTTP. But when trying to call them from the .NET app, it throws ProtocolError [7]. Here is my code which is logging the exception and failing to read out the Response from the WebException.     I am getting the below error from VS on an 32-bit XP Professional server even though I set Tools-Options-Database Tools-Data Connections to "SIDEKICK", which is the name of my computer. In other words SIDEKICK should default to the full SQLSERVER. In other words, I want VS to use SQLSERVER instead of SQLSERVER EXPRESS. And I can clearly see my database both from VS in the Server Explorer and also in SSMS 2008. Furthermore, I can view the tables of this database in Server Explorer from VS. I do not get any build errors. And it looks like all of the naming is consistent in my web.config file. I am developing my website according to a Microsoft tutorial, so I should not be getting an error.   • Telling subversion client to ignore certificate errors

    I have set up a copy of Redmine through the Bitnami Redmine Stack and am having trouble accessing a remote SVN repository through https. The trouble seems to be related to the fact that I don't have a signed certificate, and the certificate provided doesn't match the host name (I am accessing the same server through a number of host names). I am new to Ruby, Mongrel, Rails and Redmine. Following the advice in this forum thread, I changed the path Redmine uses to invoke the svn client in \apps\redmine\lib\ redmine\scm\adapters\subversion_adapter.rb from SVN_BIN = "svn" to SVN_BIN = "svn --trust-server-cert --non-interactive --config-dir c:/user/temp" I was hoping that the --trust-server-cert option would fix the certificate problem. However, I am still getting the following error message in mongrel.log: svn: OPTIONS of 'https://server.xyz:8443/svn/reponame': Server certificate verification failed: certificate issued for a different hostname, issuer is not trusted (https://server.xyz:8443) Does anybody know what to do about this? Additional info: I re-started the mongrel service after each change I am sure the configuration change has taken effect because subversion has created a full configuration directory in c:\user\temp I can access the remote repository using command line svn no problem The remote repository runs on a Windows box with VisualSVN

For this, I followed the official How-To doing the following: $JAVA_HOME/bin/keytool -genkey -v -keyalg RSA -alias tomcat -keypass changeit -storepass changeit $JAVA_HOME/bin/keytool -export -alias tomcat -storepass changeit -file /root/server.crt Then changing the $CATALINA_BASE/conf/server.xml, in-commenting this: <Connector port="8443" protocol="HTTP/1.1" SSLEnabled="true" maxThreads="150" scheme="https" secure="true" clientAuth="false" sslProtocol="TLS" keystoreFile="/root/.keystore" keystorePass="changeit" /> After starting Tomcat, I get this Exception: INFO: Initializing Coyote HTTP/1.1 on http-8080 30.06.2011 10:15:24 org.apache.tomcat.util.net.jsse.JSSESocketFactory getStore SCHWERWIEGEND: Failed to load keystore type JKS with path /root/.keystore due to Invalid keystore format java.io.IOException: Invalid keystore format at sun.security.provider.JavaKeyStore.engineLoad(JavaKeyStore.java:633) at sun.security.provider.JavaKeyStore$JKS.engineLoad(JavaKeyStore.java:38) at java.security.KeyStore.load(KeyStore.java:1185) When I look into the keystore with keytool -list I get root@host:~# $JAVA_HOME/bin/keytool -list Enter key store password: changeit Key store type: gkr Key store provider: GNU-CRYPTO Key store contains 1 entry(ies) Alias name: tomcat Creation timestamp: Donnerstag, 30. Juni 2011 - 10:13:40 MESZ Entry type: key-entry Certificate fingerprint (MD5): 6A:B9:...C:89:1C Obviously, the keystore types are different. How can I change the type and will this fix my problem?
