Templating Engine to Generate Simple Reports in .NET

I'm looking for a free templating engine to generate simple reports. I want some basic features such as : Ability to Write Loops (with any IEnumerable) Passing Variables Passing Templates Files (main template, footer, header) I'll use this to generate reports in HTML and XML. I'm not looking for a ASP.NET Template Engine. This is for a WinForms applications. I've seen this question http://stackoverflow.com/questions/340095/can-you-recommend-a-net-template-engine, however all of those template engines are total overkill for me and focused for ASP.NET. Please only recommend free libraries. // I'm still looking an NVelocity but it doesn't look any promising for .NET, overly complicated, when you download it's bunch of files not clear what to do, no tutorial, startup document etc.

bitshift large strings for encoding QR Codes

As an example, suppose a QR Code data stream contains 55 data words (each one byte in length) and 15 error correction words (again one byte). The data stream begins with a 12 bit header and ends with four 0 bits. So, 12 + 4 bits of header/footer and 15 bytes of error correction, leaves me 53 bytes to hold 53 alphanumeric characters. The 53 bytes of data and 15 bytes of ec are supplied in a string of length 68 (str68). The problem seems simple enough - concatenate 2 bytes of (right-shifted) header data with str68 and then left shift the entire 70 bytes by 4 bits. This is the first time in many years of programming that I have ever needed to do something like this, I am a c and bit shifting noob, so please be gentle... I have done a little investigation and so far have not been able to figure out how to bitshift 70 bytes of data; any help would be greatly appreciated. Larger QR codes can hold 2000 bytes of data...

Joomla and PHPBB3 integration

Hey folks, I'm on a current web project, on which there's a working PHPBB3 installation in (root)/phpbb3 All other files of the page are directly on (root)/ and are manually programmed. now I have to refactor the whole page with Joomla and want to integrate the PHPBB3 directly into the main page, so that header, menu and footer of the joomla page are still beeing displayed, only the content shall be the PHPBB. There are no further log in mechansims on my page, so this is not an issue. It's just about an optical integration of the board into the page...is this possible? If yes, how? Could you please give me a hint? greets, poeschlorn

But it is working fine for other places(other links, footer menu). I don't know what the problem is. I did all the things for enabling SEF URL in joomla. But it is not working in one place(main menu). What should I do? Note: I am using "Mosets tree" component in this site.

How to hide nested form from jQuery under IE8

An html segment with a div containing a form: <div class="hide"> Form header <form action='' method='post'> .... form content here </form> form footer </div> <script type="text/javascript"></script> The jquery should hide the form, but does not do so under IE8. (version 8.0.60001) The form content gets hidden, as does the content within the class='hide' div but outside the form, but the form border continues to show, and retains its size. Does anybody have a workaround for this? jQuery is version 1.4.2 I tried to create a small problem demo in jsfiddle, but that site was not functional in the IE browser.

golang dynamically parsing files

For parsing files i have setup a variable for template.ParseFiles and i currently have to manually set each file. Two things: How would i be able to walk through a main folder and a multitude of subfolders and automatically add them to ParseFiles so i dont have to manually add each file individually? Why are controls within custom panel (C# winforms) disappearing in designer?

I have been able to create a custom C# winforms control that is basically a panel with a fixed banner (header/footer). I want to base other user controls on this "banner panel". I've gotten past the problem with the designer here. I can successfully add controls to the inner content panel. Everything looks fine while designing. However, when I recompile, the controls I added to the content panel disappear. They are still there (in code) but aren't displayed in the designer. Is there any thing that I need to do to set the drawing order of the controls?

How can I embed the result of a rails view in another website?

I would like to allow users to call my ruby on rails app as a service which returns a 'div' with html content in it, and embed that div into their app (which will not be a rails application). For example, assume someone has their own php website that has a header/footer template that gets rendered, and a content area of the page that they need to fill based on some html I generate in my rails app. I would like to allow them, from php, to call to my website, get the 'div' I generate, and embed that as html in their php page. What I'm trying to do is host a service on my site that returns some html content, but actually show that content as part of another site, so that the end user only sees the other site and never really knows about mine. Is this possible?

Website renders two scroll bars, is it the CSS, xhtml, or some jquery plugin?

I've come to notice a bug on my website, I see that there's two scroll bars when the window is re-sized from a full sized window (my desktop's 1280x900). This issue is untraceable with Firebug and it shows up on all browsers. I'm using a JQuery UI script on the page as well but I'm not sure if that's what's doing this. What's a good way to go about getting rid of this? Or has anyone ever encountered having two scroll bars on the page? BTW: The in-page scroll bar is actually above the footer, if that helps.

I've a text file with content like this: id, pixelsize, color, text block1, 200x60, black, Header block2, 200x180, white, Body block2, 200x60, black, Footer Now using actionscript, I want to generate a psd file which would generate a 3 vertical block graphics (like this) after parsing the given file. All the blocks are placed vertically on top of each other. Convert this psd file into PDF automatically using the script. Automate this whole process without opening photoshop. Is it possible? passing multiple queries to view with codeigniter

I am trying to build a forum with Codeigniter. So far i have the forums themselves displayed and the threads displayed, based on the creating dynamic news tutorial. But that is 2 different pages, i need to obviously display them into one page, like this: Forum 1 - thread 1 - thread 2 - thread 3 Forum 2 - thread 1 - thread 2 etc. And then the next step is obviously to display all the posts in a thread. Most likely with some pagination going on. But that is for later. Scenario :I am trying to build a Mobile Entertainment Portal. It will enable users to download Music & Movies to their Cell Phones... Problem Exp : Suppose I upload 100 folders of Songs, each folder is for one Album. I want a way to generate a page with all the folders name (Album Name) in it. If user click on the page, they should be taken to a page where they get list of all songs in the album. Clicking on any song name will let them download it. Can it be done anyway or will I have to manually design each of the 3 pages for each album. If I do that, its time consuming and also will be difficult to change anything like footer, header...

Why does placing this html within form tags change the layout?

I'm using this free Web Template - EliteCircle and have just incorporated it into a master page. The master page wraps the html in: <form id="form1" runat="server"> //master page html </form> The template almost comes out fine except the entire page is surrounded by a think white border (default CSS behavior for form?) and the footer background is half white on the very bottom. I wouldn't expect the form with id=form1 to change anything in the layout. There is nothing in the [CSS][2] with that id. When I remove the form tags from the master page (just to check) the layout is perfect, no problems. Any ideas? Dynamic Button Layout without hard coding positions

I would like to implement a view (it will actually be going into the footer of a UITableView) that implements 1-3 buttons. I would like the layout of these buttons (and the size of the buttons themselves) to change depending on which ones are showing. An example of almost the exact behavior I would want is at the bottom of the Info screen in the Contacts application when you are looking at a specific contact ("Add to Favorites" disappears when it is clicked, and the other buttons expand to take up the available space in a nice animation). As I'm running through the different layout scenarios, I'm hard coding all these values and I just think... "this is NOT the way I'm supposed to be doing this." It even APPEARS that Interface Builder has some features that may do this for me in the ruler tab, but I'll be darned if I can figure out how they work (if they work) on the phone. Does anyone have any suggestions, or a tutorial online that I could look at to point me in the right direction? Thanks much.

Well i am a bit confused.. I saw a service known as Zopim.. What they do is they provide you with a small piece of code: such as  <script type="text/javascript"> document.write(unescape("%3Cscript src=\'" + document.location.protocol + "//zopim.com/?zopim\' type=\'text/javascript\'%3E%3C/script%3E")); </script>  you just need to place it in the footer and ur done.. Can any body let me know how this works and from where i can learn this.. + how can they even set the CSS with this and also the looks? Awaiting for your replies... Thanks

IE 8 Automatically Closing <header> tag

Background I am currently working on the final QA of a responsive website and I'm having an issue with IE 8 and IE 7. My client deals with government contracting so their website needs to be compatible with IE 8 and IE 7. I am using Modernizr with html5shiv built in. I am loading Modernizr in the footer of a WordPress theme that was custom built for this project. I'm not missing a doctype or any other obvious code. CSS issue with margin: auto

Hi am having an issue with the margin auto of my website where i have a wrapper div with the width set to 1000px and the margins top and bottom to 0 and left and right to auto. I have a navigation menu in the side bar, where i used java script to replace the same div with different tables. when i click a link in the menu the wrapper shifts right some px and the comes to original, I don't want that action i want the wrapper to be static and not to vary at any time. how can i achieve that. when i set the margin to just 0, so problem with positioning. But i want the wrapper to be centered. include() Why should I not use it?

I am working through an older php mysql book written in 2003. The author uses the include() function to construct html pages by including header.inc, footer.inc, main.inc files, etc. Now I find out that this is not allowed in the default ini settings, (allow_url_include is set to Off) after I got many warnings from the server. I noticed also that you can use include without the parenthesis. I tried this and it works and I get no error messages or warnings. Are the two different? That is, is include() different from include ?

Printing Work Items in TFS

Hi, I am looking for a fancy way the print individual work items in TFS. OK ... maybe not the work item directly but I need to produce printable forms based on data on a work item. And by fancy I mean: header, footer, formatting, tables maybe ... stuff like that. No, I am not trying to print a list of work items, read carefully, I need an output based on a single work item. For those who are wondering "Why on earth do you need that?" I should say: We are keeping everything on TFS around here. (For now only software development stuff, but I am thinking bigger...) Sometimes somethings need to be on hard copy, to be signed for instance, and that is why I need printable forms.

iPad portrait... zoomed in on load, div not at full width

When testing out my site on my iPad, the layout works as expected in landscape mode. When I try it in portrait mode, it is zoomed in, cutting off about 20% of the right hand side. And when I zoom that out, the background of the header and the footer containers only stretches the width that it was when zoomed in. I've dug around a bit online, and I'm suspecting it might have something to do with my meta tag. When I get rid of that tag completely, it displays the way I want it to, but gets rid of any responsive layout that I've designed for less than 767px when I load it on my iPhone. (Displays as if it wasn't responsive at all). Any ideas as to how I might go about fixing this? (Here's one of the pages that I'm talking about http://dotwong.com/test/tip/docking/)

Stopping an if clause along with the whole PHP script, but not HTML

Hello there, I've been having this problem for around an hour, and have searched the internet for answers. I've checked the PHP documentation, looked around, Googled, nothing. Anyways, my problem is that after I try to validate something (and it's wrong), if I use exit; it will also stop the HTML after. Here's what I'm talking about: if ($_POST['exampleEmail'] == "") { echo "Please enter an e-mail."; //Now I want only the PHP script to stop, however... exit; //If I use exit, then the HTML after this script (footer) doesn't show. } If anyone can help, please do. I've tried using break, but to no avail, since it's only for loops and switches. If there is a better/more correct (or simply correct if this is the wrong way), please share. I've had this problem in the past, and I just used exit then. Thanks.

div at bottom of page.

I have a div which I am using as a footer to display some content. I have put the style as: .pageFooter{ position:absolute; bottom:0px; width:100%; height:25px; background:#e6e6e6; } This style works well when there is not content in the body of page. But when I populate the page with content, say datagrid, the div is overlaps data in datagrid. What changes should I make to the style to let the div be at the bottom always. I am using IE* to view the pages.

Adding a javascript immediate after body tag

I am making a drupal module. My requirement in the module is that when the module is activated then it needs to add a javascript in page.tpl file just after the body tag. Can anyone help me how to do this. I have tried using drupal_add_js but it will not exactly put the script after body tag, rather puts inside the head or below in footer. I also tried using template variable and preprocess method but the problem is the preprocess method replaces the old value of that variable with the new one. Is there a way how i can implement this in.
