I know the basics and basic SQL, but I'm thinking more about access control.
I'm pretty efficient in jQuery, having implementing it in several projects for my company. However, I found myself a little lost when reading stuff like node.js.
Do i have to go back to basics and learn the javascript language or should i just stick with jQuery?

I am in need of an outline on teaching VB6/VBA to some co-workers. The material I am pretty confident I can fill in, just need a sense of how to order the class material. Its not going to be hard core programming [nix the VB6 jokes please :) ] but do want to touch the basics. Any free outlines or even entire presentations out there that I can use? I've been looking but nothing concrete so far.
thanks

I already know the basics of RegEx but I'm not sure where to go from here, I'm looking for both a good and above all easy to understand guide but I am also looking for things to use RegEx's for, it's all well and good reading about it but if you never use them then they will not stick in your mind.
I have already found regular-expressions.info but I'm sure there are more.
Similiar to this question, I am wondering if experienced Javascript developers have any websites they use with examples to get the basics of Javascript down in 24/28 hours? I have looked at Douglas Crockford's Google Tech Talk and I bought the book "Javascript: the good parts" but I haven't had time to read it.

Anyone know of a good / small scheme interpreter in C++? Perferably something < 2000 LOC, with a simple garbage collectro (either compacting or mark & sweep), no need to support all of R5RS, just basics of if/lambda/set!/cons/car/cdr and some basic operations.
Thanks!
I mostly write small scripts in python, about 50 - 250 lines of code. I usually don't use any objects, just straightforward procedural programming.
I know OOP basics and I have used object in other programming languages before, but for small scripts I don't see how objects would improve them. But maybe that is just my limited experience with OOP.
Am I missing something by not trying harder to use objects, or does OOP just not make a lot of sense for small scripts?
Is it possible to create a custom button -- web user control? I want certain java scripts to trigger when buttons are clicked. If so, are there any articles out there that explain the basics?
I completely understand that I can load javascript via .js link or dynamically at page load, but I would like to just drop a control on the page without manually adding code to every page on every one of my projects.
I am a newcomer to Android. I know the C And C++ programming languages, but I do not know Java . I want to learn Android right from basics, but I could not find any relevant link or e-book that can help me.
Can I begin to learn Android without knowing Java or should i go to learn Java first? From where should I learn Android which should be easy to grasp and learn for a newcomer like me.

I've been tasked with providing a workshop for my co-workers to teach them Django.
They're all good programmers but they've never done any web programming.
I was thinking to just go through the Django tutorial with them, but are there things in there that wouldn't make sense to non-web programmers?
Do they need any kind of webdev background first? Any thoughts on a good way to provide the basics so that Django will make sense?
I'm about to embark on a new project in Silverlight 4, and definitely want to take advantage of the MVVM pattern, now I've finally grasped the basics.
For implementing commands in Silverlight 4 it seems there are rather a lot of options ranging from the new built-in Command/ICommand option on the Button, over the InvokeCommand defined in the Microsoft.Expressions.Interactivity namespace and on to the range of assisting MVVM frameworks (Prism, MVVMlight etc).
Does anyone here have gotcha's, experience and wisdom to share on this subject?
For the CS majors out there what were the hardest CS classes or concepts that you learned in your undergraduate schooling?
Did you find once you learned the basics,(data structs, OOP fundamentals, discrete math, pointers, recursion, etc) the rest followed naturally or did you hit a wall at any point in your higher classes like OS'es and Compilers?
Thanks for the input!
