    Hi! When I'm running my program, I get the following error: ... nested exception is javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: ejb not bound The error occurs at the start up when Java wants to create a certain bean. The Bean is a SimpleRemoteStatelessSessionProxyFactoryBean. Could it be that I ain't got the rights to access the naming provider URL although I can ping it? When accessing the bean on my local JBoss there are no problems.

    I am trying to remove a file from a dependency jar that I am including in my war file in maven. I am deploying the war to JBoss 5.1 and the jar in question contains a persistence.xml file that I don't want. Here's what is going on: my-webapp.war | `-- WEB-INF | `-- lib | `-- dependency.jar | `-- META-INF | `-- persistence.xml When I am building my war, I want to remove persistence.xml Any one have any idea if this can be done easily?

The problem is, while try to congiure the project into server it will not shown in servers's available project list. later i try to add the project by right clicking the server but it says " there are no resources that can be added or removed from the server"... can anyone tell me the solution to run the project?

I right clicked SERVERS, Add Server..., then noticed there is no option for httpd.exe, just for Glashfiish, JBoss, Apache Tomcat, and some other servers. So, how can I add Apache Web Server (right from within the IDE just like other servers), and then properly debug PHP apps?

  • Box2D Bicycle Wheels Motor Problem - Flash 2.1a

    I have made a bicycle with Box2D using several polygons for the frame at different angles connected using weld joints, and I have revolute joints on the wheels with a motor. I have made some basic terrain (straight ground and a small ramp) and added keyboard input to control the bicycle with torque to balance it. All of this is done in with Box2D's Debug Draw. When the bicycle is on its back wheel but diagonally forward (kinda like this position - /) the motors just cause it go spinning backwards over when in reality it should either stay on its back wheel or go down onto both wheels.     As part of Tuxedo 11gR1 release, we introduced Oracle Tuxedo JCA Adapter. Tuxedo JCA Adapter is based JCA 1.5 specification and should be deployable on any JCA 1.5 compliant application server. I am saying "should" as we have tested Tuxedo JCA Adapter with WebLogic Server, IBM WebSphere and RedHat JBoss only. This adapter provides bi-directional service invocation and transaction and security context propagation from app server to Tuxedo. Basically Tuxedo JCA Adapter provides similar functionality to WebLogic Tuxedo Connector (WTC), if you are already familiar with it. One question we often receive is whether Tuxedo JCA Adapter 11g will interoperate with Tuxedo versions prior to 11g. Answer to this question is yes. Tuxedo JCA Adapter uses Tuxedo domains protocol, is deployed on application server and can interoperate with any current Tuxedo version, starting from version 8.1 and above.   • Why aren't connections released by the tomcat AJP connector

    I have here a jboss with a web application. The tomcat is configured to use the ajp connector. Incoming connections are tunneled via an apache reverse proxy to the connector. Now I recognized that under heavy load the connector keeps a bunch of connections in "keep alive" mode for eternity and doesn't release them any more. With the normal HTTP connector the app did well, but now with the ajp connector we have regular app stallments. Can someone give me some advice where to start to look to resolve this issue? Why does the connector not release the connection again after idling for 300 secs? thanks, chris

  • How to handle people who lie on their resume [closed]

    Moderator comment Please note that this is a two year old question that has just been migrated from Stack Overflow. Please take your time to read all the answers and ask yourself "would my answer add anything to this?". I'm conducting technical interviews to fill a few .NET positions. Many of the people I interview really do know .NET pretty well, but I find at least 90% embellish their skillset anywhere between "a little" to "quite drastically". Sometimes they fabricate skills relevant to the position they're applying for, sometimes they don't. Most of the people I interview, even the most egregious liars, are not scam artists. They just want to stand out among the crowd, so they drop a few buzzwords on their resume like "JBoss", "LINQ", "web services", "Django" or whatever just to pad their skillset and stay competitive. (You might wonder if a person that lies about those skills is just bluffing their way through a technical interview. My interviews involve a lot of hands-on coding and problem-solving – people who attempt to bluff will bomb the hands-on coding portion in the first 3 minutes.) These are two open-ended questions, but it would really help me out when I make my recommendations to the hiring managers: Regarding interviewing etiquette, should I attempt to determine whether a person really possesses all of the skills they claim to have? Can I do this without making the candidate feel uncomfortable? Regarding the final decision, should I recommend candidates who are genuinely qualified for the positions they're applying for, even if they've fabricated portions of their skillset?

  • Selecting a JAX-RS implementation for a new project

    I'm starting a new Java project which will require a RESTful API. It will be a SaaS business application serving mobile clients. I have developed one project with Java EE 6, but I'm not very familiar with the ecosystem, since most of my experience is on the Microsoft platform. Which would be a sensible choice for a JAX-RS implementation for a new project such as described? Judging by Wikipedia's list, main contenders seem to be Jersey, Apache CXF, RESTeasy and Restlet. But the Comparison of JAX-RS Implementations cited on Wikipedia is from 2008. My first impressings from their respective homepages is that: CXF aims to be a very comprehensive solution (reminds me of WCF in the Microsoft space), which makes me think it can be more complex to understand, setup and debug than what I need; Jersey is the reference implementation and might be a good choice, but it's legacy from Sun and I'm not sure how Oracle is treating it (announcements page doesn't work and last commit notice is from 4 months ago); RESTeasy is from JBoss and probably a solid option, though I'm not sure about learning curve; Restlet seems to be popular but has a lot of history, I'm not sure how up-to-date it is in the Java EE 6 world or if it carries a heavy J2EE mindset (like lots of XML configuration). What would be the merits of each of these alternatives? What about learning curve? Feature support? Tooling (e.g. NetBeans or Eclipse wizards)? What about ease of debugging and also deployment? Is any of these project more up-to-date than the others? How stable are them?

  • What scenarios are implementations of Object Management Group (OMG) Data Distribution Service best suited for?

    I've always been a big fan of asynchronous messaging and pub/sub implementations, but coming from a Java background, I'm most familiar with using JMS based messaging systems, such as JBoss MQ, HornetQ, ActiveMQ, OpenMQ, etc. I've also loosely followed the discussion of AMQP. But I recently became aware of the Data Distribution Service Specification from the Object Management Group, and found there are a couple of open-source implementations: OpenSplice OpenDDS It sounds like this stuff is focused on the kind of high-volume scenarios one tends to associate with financial trading exchanges and what-not. My current interest is more along the lines of notifications related to activity stream processing (think Twitter / Facebook) and am wondering if the DDS servers are worth looking into further. Could anyone who has practical experience with this technology, and/or a deep understanding of it, comment on how useful it is, and what scenarios it is best suited for? How does it stack up against more "traditional" JMS servers, and/or AMQP (or even STOMP or OpenWire, etc?) Edit: FWIW, I found some information at this StackOverflow thread. Not a complete answer, but anybody else finding this question might also find that thread useful, hence the added link.

  • Good practice or service for monitoring unhandled application errors for a small organization

    I'm working with multiple software with varying ways of monitoring for errors. When I make software, I usually send email with the stack trace to admins(usually me). Some customer software is monitored by a team who check that a particular batch run was successfull. Other software might not have any monitoring at all(someone will call when things go wrong horribly). Sending emails is good, except when things start going wrong, my mail gets filled fast. Also I don't want to solve the same problem in code for every software. Is there some relatively cheap and low maintenance software or practice to handle this. I want it to be cheap/low maintenance because usually I work alone or in teams of 5 or smaller. For example it would be great if errors would be aggregated so I don't get 10 000 emails when something unexpected happens... For clarification: By unhandled errors I mean Exceptions that were unhandled by application code that were propagated to Tomcat or Jboss. I don't need help with how to catch those errors. I need help with what to do with them. Is there any cloud application that I could send my errors to? Or some simple server to install? Or some library that can handle errors using configuration files. I use Java if that is any help.

The 10th Award party will be the best :-) I won a DSLR camera at the 2011 JCP party and have taken many awesome photos of my family with it ever since!  Thanks JCP! Remembering the password to get in! It was very fascinating talking to all those JUG Members of last years' (2011) party and hearing about their hopes & expectations.  Especially from members of SouJava and LJC. Hanging out with my friends Best food and one of my colleagues won the raffle prize. My friend Brian won a jacket 3 years ago and my friend Craig won a camera last year. 2010 when I took home 2 awards on behalf of JSRs I'm on. When Patrick & Scott sang 'Light My Fire'! Catch up with friends! Being able to attend my first JCP party and and joining JCP community. Of course it's when some people won the award (SouJava and LJC)!   Meeting Crazy Bob! This is my first.
