  • Downloaded chm is blocked, is there a solution?

    CHM files that are downloaded are often tagged as potentially malicious by Windows, which effectively blocks all the html pages inside of it. There's an easy fix (just unblock the file after you download it), but I was wondering if there's a better way to provide unblocked chm files. What if I were to download the chm file (as a byte stream) from our server inside the application, then write all the data to a file on the disk. Would it still be blocked? Is there another/better way still?

But essentially I am trying to emulate a ticket machine. The ticket machine maintains a list of tickets in the BlockingQueue q. Whenever a client adds a ticket to the machine, the machine also keeps track of the price of the last 5 tickets (ArrayList list)

  • Looking for jQuery slideshow where a user can hide/show a block of text (link, caption)

    I'm looking to implement a fairly basic jQuery slideshow. One that automatically loops through a set number of images. The snag I'm running into is i'd like to have a little icon in the corner of the picture, that when clicked, brings up a transparent black bar across the bottom with some text and perhaps a link. Has anybody come across anything like this? I want to split it so that each set of hash-started lines becomes a list: I can haz a listz0rs! <ul> <li>42</li> <li>126</li> </ul> I can haz another list plox? <ul> <li>Hello, world!</li> <li>Welcome!</li> </ul> If I run the input against the regex "/(?:(?:(?<=^# )(.*)$)+)/m", I get the following result: Array ( [0] => Array ( [0] => 42 ) Array ( [0] => 126 ) Array ( [0] => Hello, world! ) Array ( [0] => Welcome! ) ) This is fine and dandy, but it doesn't distinguish between the two different lists. I need a way to either make the quantifier return a concatenated string of all the occurrences, or, ideally, an array of all the occurrences.   • iPhone: Using dispatch_after to mimick NSTimer

    Don't know a whole lot about blocks. How would you go about mimicking a repeating NSTimer with dispatch_after? My problem is that I want to "pause" a timer when the app moves to the background, but subclassing NSTimer does not seem to work. I tried something which seems to work. I cannot judge its performance implications or whether it could be greatly optimized.   • Can not access response.body inside after filter block in Sinatra 1.0

    I'm struggling with a strange issue. According to http://github.com/sinatra/sinatra (secion Filters) a response object is available in after filter blocks in Sinatra 1.0. However the response.status is correctly accessible, I can not see non-empty response.body from my routes inside after filter. I have this rackup file: config.ru require 'app' run TestApp Then Sinatra 1.0.b gem installed using: gem install --pre sinatra And this is my tiny app with a single route: app.rb require 'rubygems' require 'sinatra/base' class TestApp < Sinatra::Base set :root, File.dirname(__FILE__) get '/test' do 'Some response' end after do halt 500 if response.empty? # used 500 just for illustation end end And now, I would like to access the response inside the after filter. When I run this app and access /test URL, I got a 500 response as if the response is empty, but the response clearly is 'Some response'. Along with my request to /test, a separate request to /favicon.ico is issued by the browser and that returns 404 as there is no route nor a static file. But I would expect the 500 status to be returned as the response should be empty. In console, I can see that within the after filter, the response to /favicon.ico is something like 'Not found' and response to /test really is empty even though there is response returned by the route. What do I miss?

  • Returning HTML in the JS portion of a respond_to block throws errors in IE

    Here's a common pattern in my controller actions: respond_to do |format| format.html {} format.js { render :layout => false } end I.e., if the request is non-AJAX, I'll send the HTML content in a layout on a brand new page. If the request is AJAX, I'll send down the same content, but without a layout (so that it can be inserted into the existing page or put into a lightbox or whatever). So I'm always returning HTML in the format.js portion, yet Rails sets the Content-Type response header to text/javascript. This causes IE to throw this fun little error message: Of course I could set the content-type of the response every time I did this (or use an after_filter or whatever), but it seems like I'm trying to do something relatively standard and I don't want to add additional boilerplate code. How do I fix this problem? Alternatively, if the only way to fix the problem is to change the content-type of the response, what's the best way to achieve the behavior I want (i.e., sending down content with layout for non-AJAX and the same content without a layout for AJAX) without having to deal with these errors?     I am preparing a short tutorial for level 1 uni students learning JavaScript basics. The task is to validate a phone number. The number must not contain non-digits and must be 14 digits long or less. It's hard to see the difference between a normal and a curly bracket. Do you usually put the last ) on the same line as the last condition? Do you keep the first opening ( on a line by itself? Do you wrap each individual sub-condition in brackets too? Do you align horizontally the first ( with the last ), or do you place the last ) in the same column as the if? Do you keep ) { on a separate line or you place the last ) on the same line with the last sub-condition and then place the opening { on a new line?     I love microsoft development products! I hate microsoft browsers... I have made the decision to cut ties with internet explorer until they add support for some common W3 approved items. Namely 'multiple' in forms as well as about 5 other things... and as such I would like to urge my visitors to use a better browser. is there a way to setup an http handler or perhaps something in the asax file to route all ie users to a custom page? It builds, but it is not blocking the thread so the external tool gets kicked off before it can finish. Is there a way I can run ExecuteCommand and wait for the thread to finish?     Is there any mechanism to comment out large blocks of Python code? Right now the only ways I can see of commenting out code are to either start every line with a #, or to enclose the code in """ (triple quotes), except that actually makes it show up in various doc tools. Edit--After reading the answers (and referring to the "duplicate"), I have concluded the correct answer is "No". One person said so, and the rest lectured us about editors. Not a bad thing, but I feel it's important to put the answer at the top.

    I have a pov-ray file, which defines a lot of cylinders and spheres. Sometimes these shapes are defined to have "color@", which makes the povray unrenderable. One solution I've found is to delete the offending cylinders and spheres.     I am currently writing a small texteditor. With this texteditor users are able to create small scripts for a very simple scripting engine. For a better overview I want to highlight codeblocks with the same command like GoTo(x,y) or Draw(x,y). To achieve this I want to use Regular Expresions (I am already using it to highlight other things like variables) Here is my Expression (I know it's very ugly): /(?<!GoTo|Draw|Example)(^(?:GoTo|Draw|Example)\(.+\)*?$)+(?!GoTo|Draw|Example)/gm It matches the following: lala GoTo(5656) -> MATCH 1 sdsd GoTo(sdsd) --comment -> MATCH 2 GoTo(23329); -> MATCH 3 Test() GoTo(12) -> MATCH 4 LALA Draw(23) -> MATCH 5 Draw(24) -> MATCH 6 Draw(25) -> MATCH 7 But what I want to achieve is, that the complete "blocks" of the same command are matched. In this case Match 2 & 4 and Match 5 & 6 & 7 should be one match. Tested with http://regex101.com/, the programming lanuage is vb.net. Any advise would be very useful, Thanks in advance!

I added a registry key to, HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\ZoneMap\Domains\ then a REG_DWORD value named "http" with value==2 as given in http://stackoverflow.com/questions/972345/programmatically-add-trusted-sites-to-internet-explorer but still facing same issues. Can some1 advice on this....
