• How to prevent windows from being resized?

  Adobe Audition is really stupid in that when you change the size of the window, and then change it back to the original size, all the frame positions are lost and you have to tediously reposition them by hand. I'd like to make it completely impossible to ever resize the window, just keep it maximized at all times. If I accidentally click "Restore" or drag the title bar, it should either ignore it, or move around the screen while staying the same size. Is there any way to do this?

• How do you kill a process tree in linux?

  Sometimes, sending a SIGTERM to a process will cause it to send SIGTERM to all its child processes. However, sometimes this doesn't work. Is there a command or a utility that will allow me to kill a process and all its child processes at the same time? I usually resort to manually collecting all the pids into one kill command, but it feels stupid. This SO question asks how to do this with perl, but anything that gets the job done would be great.

• How does Antimalware Doctor infect computers?

  I didn't do anything stupid like run random .exe or visit questionable websites, but as I was just Googling I get infected by Antimalware Doctor. At that point I just shutdown my computer and reformatted, so I didn't check if I had the latest version of Flash or Firefox. Is it possible to get infected just because I didn't have my Flash newer than 10.1 and some random flash ad infected me? There doesn't seem to be any information on how Antimalware Doctor works asides from how to remove it.

  On MacOS (10.8.5 if that matters) I'm trying to disable off ipv6 via networksetup -setv6off Wi-Fi. Nevertheless, when I'm trying to wget a specific files URL resolves to ipv6 address and download fails. I just wonder what I am missing in order not to feel as stupid as I currently feel. ifconfig shows that some of interfaces have inet6 enabled, but I just don't know whether this is relevant at all. networksetup -listallnetworkservices does not show anything extraordinary I've forgot about.

• Linux depends hell when installing a small mp3 player...

  I try to install a small audio player named "Audacious" with the following command: sudo apt-get install audacious and it tells me that it depends audacious-plugins, so I try to install the audacious-plugins, one thing leads to another, there're numerous depends and it is just impossible to install all of them manually... • How to find a user's (or mine) access rights on Windows Server 2008?

  So recently I did a very stupid thing and accidentally deleted my APPDATA (LOL yes), and now the favorite folder doesn't work anymore. The favorite folder I am refering to is the one in windows explorer (not the horrid IE) in windows 7, which appears on the left of windows explorer windows. The %USERPROFILE%/Favorite folder still works correctly, but the favorite folder in the shell doesn't point there, instead it points to a nonexistant and broken location, how do i fix this problem?

  I know this is stupid: I couldn't find anything from IBM website about where to download an IBM jre (specifically, IBM jre1.6.0 J9 2.4 SR6) for a 64-bit Windows OS. Google takes me to a link which looks similar, but that jre would only work on an IBM product, I assume their own server/workstation or something like that. • httpd.conf ruined - can't access my vps anymore

  Okay, so this may be incredible stupid But I was configuring my httpd.conf file yesterday. After a server restart, I can no longer access it. Port 80 is working fine, and it displays my webpages, however when I access the site via ssh, it just says the connection was refused. I cannot access webmin which is port 10000 or access it via ftp :/ Do I need to recreate the whole site or is there a way to get into it? I think I messed up the virtual hosts :)
