  • Can't get up with RIA demo: part 2

    Here is a topic: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2507734/cant-get-up-with-ria-demo where I've described problem with getting access to DomainContext object on the client. That time problem was resolved himself (without any actions from my side, with Visual Studio restart). At the moment, I had the same problem on another PC (Vista x64, VS2008, Silverlight 3.0, RIA Services Toolkit): ThomasDomainContext class that inherits DomainContext was not visible from the page's codebehind file. Again, it was resolved after VS restart and after that I got another problem: Error 1 'VfmElita.Web.ClientBin.ThomasDomainContext' does not contain a definition for 'employee' and no extension method 'employee' accepting a first argument of type 'VfmElita.Web.ClientBin.ThomasDomainContext' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) D:\Project\Budda\VFMElita\VfmElitaSilverlightClient\MainPage.xaml.cs for the following lines of code (error is noticed for the 31st line): 30: var context = new ThomasDomainContext(); 31: grid1.ItemsSource = context.employee; 32: context.Load(context.GetEmployeeQuery()); Any help is welcome. P.S. Please note, that source code create on the 1st machine is successfully compilable and launchable

  • Loading...Please wait for UIWebView - iPhone

    Hi guys, In Safari and other browsers, there is a bar that would indicate the percentage of the loading progress, and I, myself, trying to implement something similiar on iPhone, when loading some content in UIWebView, I would like the app to indicate the percentage of the page being loaded. I tried some google search and realize we could use NSURLConnection to read only the header and get the Content-Length ( but don't know how to, I read the Apple's NSURLConnection docs but probably I missed something ... ). And the size ( kb ) which UIWebView had loaded, seem like UIWebView don't support it for the public API... I hope this would be complete in some other ways than I thought, so if you have any ideas, please throw it out, thanks for your patient reading. P.S : I could just show an Activities Indicator for users with the long loading progress actions of the UIWebView but I just want to go further with the loading percentage bar :). Regards.

  • How do I change the title of the "back" button on a Navigation Bar

    Currently the left bar button default value is the title of the view that loaded the current one, in other words the view to be shown when the button is pressed (back button). I want to change the text shown on the button to something else. I tried putting the following line of code in the view controller's viewDidLoad method but it doesn't seem to work. self.navigationItem.leftBarButtonItem.title = @"Log Out"; What should I do?     Hi, I'm working on a fairly large project at the moment and am currently in the planning stages. I've done a lot of reading into the various patterns suggested for development, somthing that has split the team at the moment is when using Entity Framework should the classes be passed through the applciation layers so that a view accepts an Entity Framework class or should these classes be mapped to BLL Classes and if so at which point (Controller or Library) should this be done? I'm interested in hearing some positives and negitives for each solutions.

  • ValidateInput Attribute Doesn't Seem To Work in ASP.NET MVC

    I'm trying to get around the "potentially dangerous Request.Form value" error and I'm having no luck. Yes, yes, I've read all the other StackOverflow related questions and none of them seem to get me closer to an answer. I am using [ValidateInput(false)] on all related controller actions...and I've checked many times. I'm using ValidateRequest='false' in all the related ASPX views. I am using ASP.NET MVC 2 Preview 1, but I don't think that's an issue since the error is being generated lower in the framework; Page.ProcessRequest to be exact. I can't see anything I'm doing wrong, I even set <page validateRequest='false'> in the web.config and that didn't solve it either. HELP!!!!!

I have a stable USB Listing method that accesses all my USB devices I get the devicepath, and this structure: TSPDevInfoData = packed record Size: DWORD; ClassGuid: TGUID; DevInst: DWORD; // DEVINST handle Reserved: DWord; end; I get my ProductID and VenderID successfully from my DevicePath Lists all USB devices connected to the computer at the time That enables me to access the registry data to each device in a stable way. What I'm lacking is a little direction Is friendly name able to be written inside the connected USB Micro chips by the firmware programmer? (I'm thinking of this to identify the device even further, or is this to help identify Bulk data transfer devices like memory sticks and camera's) Can I use SPDRP_REMOVAL_POLICY_OVERRIDE to some how reset these polices What else can I do with the registry details. Identifying when some one unplugs a device The program is using (in windows XP standard) I used a documented windows event that did not respond. Can I read a registry value to identify if its still connected? using CreateFileA (DevicePath) to send and receive data I have read when some one unplugs in the middle of a data transfer its difficult clearing resources. what can IoCreateDevice do for me and how does one use it for that task This two way point of connection status and system lock up situations is very concerning. Has some one read anything about this subject recently? My objectives are to 1. list connected USB devices identify a in development Micro Controller from everything else send and receive data in a stable and fast way to the limits of the controller No lock up's transferring data Note I'm not using any service packs I understand everything USB is in ANSI when windows xp is not and .Net is all about ANSI (what a waste of memory) I plan to continue this project into a .net at a later date as an addition. MSDN gives me Structures and Functions and what should link to what ok but say little to what they get used for. What is available in my language Delphi is way over priced that it needs a major price drop.

  • iPhone - Tweak the UINavigationController to show a UINavigationBar made into IB

    Hello, I've build a UINavigationBar into Interface Builder, and I have a NavigationController into my app. I'd like to make the one use the other to work. Just to manage the bar into IB and let the controller use it as its view (and adding by itself the Back button if needed), or in another way to do the same thing, let the NavBar use the navcontroller to adjust its display. Do you see a way to do this ? If not, I really don't see the use of the NavigationBar proposed into IB.

    This may be a dumb question but it seems like activateIgnoringOtherApps: may be the only way to activate an app using Cocoa. I have a java app that loads up a Cocoa app and I want the Cocoa app to be activated when this happens. The problem is I do not want to have to launch an intermediate app (some sort of controller) and use this app to activateIgnoringOtherApps: my other Cocoa app. Is there some way to use activateIgnoringOtherApps: to force my Cocoa app to become active?

    I want to verify if I'm in the last cell of the UITable. Should I use a NSInteger property in my controller and store the value of the count of the data (it's an NSMutableArray) that populates the table? I'm asking because I don't know if count iterates over all objects of the array to count or if it only gets me a value of a count property. What would be better ? store the value: myCount = [myArray count] use directly: [myArray count] store numberOfRows: myCount = numberOfRowsInSection:[indexPath 0] use numberOfRows directly: numberOfRowsInSection:[indexPath 0]

  • Rails Full Engine using a Full Engine

    I've got this full rails engine Foo with functionality X. I want to make another engine, engine Bar, that is pretty much the same, but override funcitonality x with y. (it basically does the same, but a few controller actions and views are differently implemented). (I might split this later in several mountable engines, but for now, this will be the setup: project Baz, using engine Bar, which uses engine Foo) I would like to know if there are any pitfalls. It doesn't seem like a pattern that is often used? Anybody else using this 'some sort of engine inheritance'?

  • Auto populate input based on file name with AngularJS

    I am playing around with AngularJS and have not been able to solve this problem. I have a view that has a form to upload a file to a node server. So far I have manage to do this using some directives and a service. I allow the user to send a custom name to the POST data if they desire. What I wan to accomplish is that when the user selects a file the filename models auto populates. My view looks like: <div> <input file-model="phpFile" type="file"> <input name="filename" type="text" ng-model="filename"> <button ng-click="send()">send</button> </div> file-model is my directive that allows the file to be assigned to a scope. myApp.directive('fileModel', ['$parse', function($parse) { return { restrict: 'A', link: function(scope, element, attrs) { var model = $parse.(attrs.fileModel); var modelSetter = model.assign; element.bind('change', function() { scope.$apply(function() { modelSetter(scope, element[0].files[0]); }); }); } }]); The service: myApp.service('fileUpload', ['$http', function($http){ this.uploadFileToUrl = function(file, uploadUrl, optionals) { var fd = new FormData(); fd.append('file', file); for (var key in file) { fd.append(key, file[key]); } for(var i = 0; i < optionals.length; i++){ fd.append(optionals[i].name, optionals[i].data); } }); }]); Here as you can see I pass the file, append its properties, and append any optional properties.     I'm making a custom button in Java that has two states, mousePressed, and mouseReleased. At the same time, if I wanted to reuse this button, so that other event listeners can register with it, are these the appropriate steps I should do: override addActionListener(ActionListener action) override removeActionListener(ActionListener action) have a private variable like List <ActionListener> list = new List <ActionListener>() to keep track of when events get added and some sort of function with for loop to run all the actions: public void runListeners() { for (ActionListener al : list) { al.actionPerfomed; } } I'm not really sure if this is the way you can do it or if there are other things I am missing. Like does my custom class have to be implements ActionListener? Thanks.

  • Rails - How do you test ActionMailer sent a specific email in tests

    Currently in my tests I do something like this to test if an email is queued to be sent assert_difference('ActionMailer::Base.deliveries.size', 1) do get :create_from_spreedly, {:user_id => @logged_in_user.id} end but if i a controller action can send two different emails i.e. one to the user if sign up goes fine or a notification to admin if something went wrong - how can i test which one actually got sent. The code above would pass regardless.
