• GWT UIBinding cannot find zero-arg constructor

  I'm trying my hand at the new GWT 2.0 UIBinder capability, and I have a ui XML that looks like this: <ui:UiBinder xmlns:ui="urn:ui:com.google.gwt.uibinder" xmlns:g="urn:import:com.google.gwt.user.client.ui" xmlns:my='urn:import:com.mystuff.mypackage'> <g:VerticalPanel> <!-- other stuff --> <my:FileUploadPanel.ValidatingFileUpload styleName="field" ui:field="fileUpload" /> </g:VerticalPanel> ValidatingFileUpload is a non-static inner class contained in FileUploadPanel. It has an explicit zero-arg constructor that simply calls super(). However, when GWT starts up, I get this error: 00:00:18.359 [ERROR] Rebind result 'com.mystuff.mypackage.FileUploadPanel.ValidatingFileUpload' has no default (zero argument) constructors. java.lang.NoSuchMethodException: com.mystuff.mypackage.FileUploadPanel$ValidatingFileUpload.<init>() Any idea what might be going wrong here?

  It's easy to find duplicates with one field SELECT name, COUNT(email) FROM users GROUP BY email HAVING ( COUNT(email) > 1 ) So if we have a table ID NAME EMAIL 1 John asd@asd.com 2 Sam asd@asd.com 3 Tom asd@asd.com 4 Bob bob@asd.com 5 Tom asd@asd.com This query will give us John, Sam, Tom, Tom because they all have the same e-mails. But what I want, is to get duplicates with the same e-mails and names. I want to get Tom, Tom. I made a mistake, and allowed to insert duplicate name and e-mail values. Now I need to remove/change the duplicates. But I need to find them first.

• Troubles configuring SSL for an Apache host

  I configured it on Friday night and all worked well. Today for some reason it stopped working and I can't figure out why. When you goto the secure page it's acting like I have a self-signed certificate and I don't. It's got to be something minor but I can't seem to see it. It's an updated Centos/Apache VM. I have worn Google out.

• Create javadoc with multiple src dirs

  I have a Util package with source files in three seperate directories, defined like so: src/com/domain/util src/Standard/com/domain/util src/Extended/com/domain/util The package is built with the first set of files and either one of the second or third set, to create a total of two different implementations of the same interface. Now, I want to generate javadoc based on those files. How can I specify that? What I really want to do is javadoc com.domain.util -sourcepath ./src;./src/Standard to build the javadoc for the standard util package, and javadoc com.domain.util -sourcepath ./src;./src/Extended to build the javadoc for the extended util package. This doesn't work. The only way I've found so far to actually make it work is to merge the directory structure of the common classes and the Standard classes into another location and run with that for the standard javadoc, then do the same for the Extended package. Is there another way?

• Pasting images in TinyMCE on rails app

  Hi, I found a weird problem with TinyMCE editor. Copying & pasting images from another domain works fine but if the images are on the same domain the path are relative but not correct sometimes. I figured out that the problem is related to the rails URL scheme. Example) Images are copied from http://mydomain.com/index.html page and the real images path is http://mydomain.com/photos/image.jpg. Editor page: http://mydomain.com/posts/new = image path is set as ../photos/image.jpg http://mydomain.com/posts/edit/123 = image path is set as ../../photos/image.jpg So I tried http://mydomain.com/posts/new/ and it worked.   Question is about paths and domains: I have an out-of-the box ASP.NET MVC project (generated by "File-New Project"). On LogOn page it does: return Redirect("~/Account/LogOn");. I have a domain name: mycompany.com, and following file structure on the server: /Root /MyApp (this is where my app goes into) Default.aspx ... I have set up following domain pointer: mycompany.com -> \MyApp When I go to mycompany.com I get an error, something about can't find mycompany.com/MyApp/MyApp/Account/LogOn Question: Where does second /MyApp path element comes from? Note: If I don't use domain pointer and deploy the site to the root - everything works just fine. Note: My hosting provider is webhost4life.com.

  Given multi-tenant application, How are vendors implementing email notifications from an email account setup and programming perspective: Sending emails could come from a generic account: eg notifications@VendorName.com or noreply@VendorName.com, this seems reasonable considering reply addresses and lilnks can be contained within the email contents. Receiving Emails: How would an application receive email, for instance; to generate support tickets or assign comments in an email to a project/task. I have seen ID's within the subject and some reply to addresses containing the account name eg: [email protected].com I realise one can programatically connect to a pop3 server and receive emails and look for the IDs with the subject, but is there a way of setting up and receiving email to a single pop3 account from multiple sub-host name email addresses (not sure on terminology there) eg: [email protected].com or [email protected].com and check the Account Name from the address? (similar to checking subdomains on a URL) Any practices, experience, comments or sughestions? (not sure its relevant, but using C# asp.net-mvc and services etc)

The site has paths like this that return a page: http://test.com/operating We are using url rewriting. We want requests similar to those to be redirected to ~/Default.aspx http://test.com// http://test.com/.aspx http://test.com//.aspx We would normaly use something like this in web.config: <customErrors mode="On" defaultRedirect="Default.aspx"> <error statusCode="404" redirect="Default.aspx" /> </customErrors> The problem with this is that it won't redirect folder url like this http://test.com/*/ Thanks!

• Day 1 - Finding Like Minds

  So, is being a Game Developer any different from being an IT Developer? I picture a poorly lit environment where I get to purchase my own desk lamp; I'm thinking one of those huge lava lamps that pump out so much heat you could fry an egg on it. To my right: a "great wall" of empty coke cans dwarf me. Eating my last slice of pizza I look across my desk to see a fellow developer with a smug look on his face;  he's just coded his latest module for the game and it looks like he's in nirvana. My duty, of course, is to remind him to keep focused on the job at hand. So, picking up my trusty elastic and aerodynamically crafted paper bullet I begin a 10 minute war of welts and laughter which is promptly abrupted by our Project Manager demanding more details from our morning Scrum meeting. After providing about 5 minutes of geek speak and several words of comfort to make his eyes glaze over...it hits me, the idea for the module...beckoning my developer friend over, we quickly shoo the Project Manager away and begin our brainstorming frenzy ... now, where'd I put that full can of coke? OK. OK. This isn't probably the most ideal game developer environment, but it definitely sounds fun to me...and from what I gather is nothing like most game development companies. But I'm not doing this blog series to "go pro"; like I stated in my first post I want to make a 2D game from an idea my best friend and I drummed up long, long ago. I'm in this for the passion AND I want to see how easy it is for us .Net Developers to create a game. So where do I start? Where can I find like minded individuals? What technologies are there? What do I need to make a video game? The questions are endless....AND...since I already have an idea ... lets start with ... Technology (yes, I'm a geek, live with it...) Technology OK. Predominantly, games are still made in C++ or even C. I'm not sure how much assembly code is floating around lately, however, that is not my concern. I do know C / C++ from my past, enough to even get me by, but I'm mainly interested in a recent, not-so-new, technology called XNA. What is XNA? Armed with blogs, twitter, jobs/resumes and most importantly industry news; one could subscribe to the feed and got lost in the wealth of information it provides. On a side note: I remember Gamasutra being around when my best friend and I wanted to make a video game...meaning, they've been around for a while now. I think the most beneficial aspect of this site is to understand the industry you want to get into. Otherwise, it's just a cool site to keep up to date with the industry in general. Another Community Support option is LinkedIn. • ASP.NET Deployment under IIS7/VS2010 as Web Application

  I transformed my VS2008 ASP.NET Website to a "Web Application" today using VS2010. So now it's possible to build a Deployment Package. A Zip Package which can be direclty imported into IIS7. Usually I added a website in IIS7 called mydomain.com and put everything in its root dir. That worked. However, since I converted to an Web Application, this Application is added beneath my "Website container". Now I'm confused, this is how it actually looks now when I try to open the website: Browsing to mydomain.com says 404 ERROR. Browsing to mydomain.com/mydomain.com opens the actual website, but in a subfolder instead of the root directory. (The Application is named after the Domain) How to make this application the root of the website now? I want the application to run under the mydomain.com ROOT and not some subfolder. Thanks a lot!

• Wordpress is ignoring Unicode Chars in URL

  Hi, I am using wordpress with this type of permalink: /%year%/%monthnum%/%postname%/ if I use this type of url: example.com/2010/03/????? it treats this url like this example.com/2010/03/ (By ignoring unicode chars) and displays March 2010 archive list. if I use english url: example.com/2010/03/technology then it works perfectly. This problem occurs even on tags page: for example example.com/tag/??????? is treated like example.com/tag/ and displays 404 page. Why wordpress is ignoring unicode chars?
